McCain making Obama’s age a campaign issue

STOCKTON, CA — So who is making age an issue now? While his campaign took great offense to Senator Obama’s subtle jab at the GOPers age a couple weeks ago, Sen. McCain decided to instead make Obama’s youth a campaign issue Thursday.

“I admire and respect Senator Obama. For a young man with very little experience, he’s done very well. So I appreciate-with his very, very great lack of experience and knowledge of the issues, he’s been very successful,” McCain said to laughter from the more than 500 supporters gathered at an airport hangar rally Thursday afternoon. “So, don’t get me wrong-I admire and respect Senator Obama, but he does not have the knowledge, background or judgment to lead this nation in these difficult and challenging times and I do. And I can keep this nation prosperous and secure.”

The dig at Obama, 46, echoes a similar line President Reagan used during a 1984 presidential debate when he defered a question about his age by reversing the issue on his younger opponent, Walter Mondale.

“I want you to know that also I will not make age an issue of this campaign. I am not going to exploit for political purposes my opponent’s youth and inexperience,” Reagan joked. “If it was not for the elders correcting the mistakes of the young, there would be no state.”

McCain, who turns 72 in August, will be the oldest president ever elected to a first term in office. When Obama said during a CNN interview earlier this month that McCain was “losing his bearings,” the Republican’s senior adviser Mark Salter issued a strong statement condemning the Democrat.

“He used the words ‘losing his bearings’ intentionally, a not particularly clever way of raising John McCain’s age as an issue. This is typical of the Obama style of campaigning,” Salter wrote in a memo. “We have all become familiar with Senator Obama’s new brand of politics. First, you demand civility from your opponent, then you attack him, distort his record and send out surrogates to question his integrity. It is called hypocrisy, and it is the oldest kind of politics there is.”

You should get a good nights sleep tonight.. Renouncing, Denouncing, fflipping, flopping, releasing lobbyist from your campaign takes a lot of energy.

There is more at stake here than Obama’s age. What about his associations withthe Anti-American neighborhood? DNC you had better ask a lot of hard questions if you think the people of the United States are going to come together and put this man in office.

He doesn’t like babies either……….

Obama Blocked Born Alive Infant Protection Act

by Jill Stanek, guest reporter
He often stood alone as an Illinois lawmaker in opposition to protections for babies who survived abortion.
Note: This report first appeared in the April issue of Citizen magazine.
On Jan. 10, 2005, newly elected U.S. Sen. Barack Obama visited former colleagues and staffers at the Illinois state Capitol, where he had served seven years as state senator. I happened to be at the Capitol that day, too, and a friend and I took the opportunity to speak to Obama, who had not yet achieved rock-star status and was still approachable.
We were in Springfield to lobby for passage of the state Born Alive Infant Protection Act, legislation that would require hospitals to care for infants who survive an abortion. Obama spoke against the legislation in 2001 and 2002 and single-handedly defeated it in committee in 2003.
My friend stood in Obama’s path and said, “Senator, we are going to pass Born Alive here in Illinois this year.”
Obama smiled smoothly and agreed, “I think you will,” adding, “I would have voted for the Born Alive Infant Protection Act in Illinois had it been worded the same as the federal bill. I think that’s the position the Democrats should take.”
There’s just one thing he forgot to mention: Obama had stopped his committee from adding the federal wording.
With Obama no longer in the state Senate, the Born Alive legislation passed in 2005.

Hillary is the much better candidate for the Dems….it is to bad the liberal media decided to lose the election for her. The good thing for this country is that McCain is going to kick Obama’s butt in the general and the liberal media (especially MSNBC) will be forced to shut the hell up!!!!

this is really a travesty. talking about age when you are to have your medical report released.

i know this answer . how healthy is your heart on an average at age 72. how healthy is your mind on average male at age 72. whose organs function better at age 72 or 46 ?
facts.

Bigjohnson–Is a 46 year old really healthier of more mentally sound than and older person???? Depends on the person. Some 46 year olds who have done cocain and smoked pot and still smoke cigarettes may have seriously damaged their brains and their lungs. Some 46 year olds who have had casual sex (see BO’s book) many times and might even have AIDS for all we know might have organs that are much worse off than an older man. Some 46 year olds how engage in man on man sex (see Sinclair) might have other sexually transmitted diseases as well.

It is now a well known fact that doing drugs at a young age permanently impairs judgement. (Check the science) Maybe that is why Obama has shown a serious lack of judgement in:

Choosing Pastor Wright
Marrying Michelle
Hanging out with Ayers
Ditto Khalidi
Ditto Obonga (Roy–terrorist Kenyan “brother”–same daddy–different mamma than Obamamama)
Ditto Odinga Kenya (Google “Odinga Kenya Obama” and fear)
Ditto Hamas/PLO/ Black Panthers/”Frank” the Communist (book)/ American Communist Party etc.

This guy is left of Lenin. Read your history books if you want to know what Lenin did to his country before you let someone like him into the White House.

What did the Old Fart say about Obama?

Well let’s see, as far as I can tell Obama is relatively young, vigorous, and seems to have a positive future vision of the country which doesn’t involve another 100 year war. Gramps McCain on the other hand suggests that his advanced years give him an edge in experience. I guess that is why McCain has no problem contemplating another 100 year war. So, when McCain calls Obama a “young man,” is he suggesting that the choice is really about the candidate’s age? If so, perhaps he’s on to something.

May 22, 2008): “Democrats Should be more Democratic” (RCP) - great article about undemocratic caucuses!

——————————————————————————–

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/art…ore_democ.html

Quote:
There was unfortunate symbolism in Barack Obama’s choice of Des Moines as the place to celebrate his delegate milestone on the day of the Kentucky and Oregon primaries. The Iowa caucuses were the first contest of the nominating process, and Obama’s success in them launched his campaign into the big time. But they were also the start of a deeply undemocratic process.

The caucuses produced no vote count. There were no secret ballots — but instead a public two-hour tussle that disenfranchised many parents of small children, shift workers and those who couldn’t drive in the dark. Certain caucus-goers enjoyed several times the clout of others — it depended on where they lived. The result was not an election of delegates but of “delegate equivalents,” a term with an Orwellian ring.

The seven dwarfs always left to go work in the mine early each morning.
As always, Snow White stayed home doing her domestic chores.
As lunchtime approached, she would prepare their lunch and carry it to the mine.
One day as she arrived at the mine with the lunch,
She saw that there had been a terrible cave-in.
Tearfully, and fearing the worst, Snow White began
Calling out, hoping against hope that the dwarfs had somehow survived.
‘Hello!…Hello!’ she shouted. ‘Can anyone hear me?
For a long while, there was no answer.
Losing hope, Snow White again shouted,
‘Hello! Is anyone down there?’
Just as she was about to give up all hope,
she heard a faint voice from deep within the mine, singing . ….

‘Vote for Barack Obama! - Vote for Barack Obama!’

Snow White fell to her knees, crossed herself and prayed,
‘Oh, thank you, God! At least Dopey is still alive…

For those Obama supporters who think the world of Barack Obama: At age 46, Obama looks tired, out of energy, speaks two or three words, pauses for a few seconds, then speaks two or three words and pauses and so on. Where is his eloquence in speaking? When he’s reading from cue cards or a teleprompter. Anybody can give a great speech if they have a good speech writer. To respond to any issues or attacks, it takes him a day or weeks because he needs his advisors to write a speech since he can’t think for himself. Obama should be a quick thinker and respond on the spot at a press conference. Barack Obama’s mental impairment and lack of judgment must be due to his use of drugs, and probably the reason why he can’t make sound decisions and why he attended that racist Trinity Church for twenty years, and associated himself with sixties radicals, terrorists, corrupted politicians, and racists.

If Obama is elected president we will be the laughing stock of the world, this is the reason why many foreign countries prefer Obama instead of McCain, because they want to bring us down. We will always be the envy of the world no matter what. How can anyone vote for a far left liberal who does not stand for anything or anybody. Senator McCain might not be perfect but he’s perfect compared to Barack Obama.

Comment by Mike Stephens

Can I start my lament about Hillary Clinton yet? I knew this would happen. We could have had everything…we could have had it all. Universal Healthcare, experience with military matters, an improved economy…but now…people wanted “change” because “yes we can”…people voted because of the color of a man’s skin and the deep tone of his voice…they fell for it hook line and sinker.

It could have been so different. Sad. All I can do is hope and pray that the Dems will see before it’s too late, recognize that Clinton has the popular vote majority, and vote on the side of the voice of the people.

In the last two days we have been fortunate to watch two of our great news networks, CNN and MSNBC, trying to make McCain’s brief contact with John Hagee equivalent to Barak Husssein and Michelle Obama’s 20-year relationship with Rev. Wright and the racism promulgated by Black Liberation Theology which the two worshipped for so many years. This is their attempt to neutalize the Obama-Michelle-Wright relationship. It is a truly pitiful example of biased media in action … these people have to be on Obama’s payroll.

It is apparent that relative to this story, Campbell Brown (representing CNN) and Keith Olbermann (representing MSNBC) are in a strong competition for the “A$$hole of the Week” award. Who will win … I’m betting on Olbermann.

Once upon a time, many many years ago, there is a little osama and a little obama.
Little osama used to fly to the USA and paid his little friend obama a visit.
Little osama will go to little obama’s house and knock on his door * Knock, knock knock…

Little obama will answer the door and said. ” Why little osama? you visit me early this morning!”

Little osama will say: “Good morning obama! Say, can I play with your ball?”
Little obama will reply and say this:
“No! Its my ball. No one can touch my little ball. Its mine, mine, mine, mine mine!!”

Little Hillary heard of this little argument, and walk up to both of them and say this.
“Why little obama, little osama, what is the problem here between the two of you? How Can I help?”
Little osama will tell little hillary that he wanted to play with little obama’s little ball.

Upon hearing little obama’s concerns, little hillary took little osama’s hand and place it on little obama’s ball. Little hillary then took both the hand and the ball and shoved it right into little obama’s candy ASS! That way, everybody is happy..
Little osama gets to touch the ball, and little obama gets to keep the ball!

A happy ending to this little story!

There is a huge difference between the WWII golden age people that are in their 80 and 90s right now. These people accomplished a great deal and went through alot of trials that made them incredible people.

you should really have some self-reflection and note, in light of all the stupid and contradictory remarks obama has said lately, how asinine your comments appear. It really smacks of desperation and is, quite frankly, pathetic. McCain is so far winning the war of words in a HUGE way with obama, who doesn’t even know the details of a HUGE nuclear waste site that he voted on. Wow. You are obviously a democrat, you know, the party that decries any kind of discrimination, because of the apparent hypocrisy you show for pointing out that McCain is “old”. Big deal, today 70 is like 50 due to the great medical advances made in this country (incidentally, which will all come screeching to a halt if obama imposes socialized medicine on us. No one will be able to get world class medical care in a timely fashion except for people like ted “Chappaquidick” kennedy who get to be airlifted to the best hospitals in the country, I’m sure at taxpayers’ expense). So, please go hide out in a hole somewhere until the Nov elections are finished and obama is sent packing his bags back to the seedy corrupt underworld of Chicago politics (where I live, so I know a thing or two about the massive corruption here. Man, did obama play that game here…)

racist = ageist..whatever the propor term is. You discriminate on age only…SAME THING. Oblahblah WILL NEVER have the wisdom and courage of McCain. You can sterotype him, like people do with race….you are DOING THE SMAE THING you are the SAME as a racist

Have we forgotten that with age come wisdom? Where is the respect that the older generation
should have from younger people?

The wisdom and experience to lead this country is only found in two candidates. Hillary and McCain.

Obama has neither. His association with anti-American people and terrorist show that he has no wisdom at all and beyond that, bad judgment.

Obama is so unelectable, not because he is black, but because he has shown us by his actions (not words) that he doesn’t have the experience to make good judgment.

BTW…McCain’s health report shows he is FINE. Just becuse he is 71 DOESN’T mean he is senile. That is like saying all black people are gang bangers…IT IS WRONG!!!!

In a recent interview by Chris Matthews of Hardball with Yoda, star of the acclaimed Star Wars franchise, Yoda was quoted as saying, “Remember John McCain while in day-care I was. Bad temper he always had. Played well with the other children he did not. Bad choice for President he is.”
