Obama’s high delegate count seems to make it inevitable that he will be crowned the democratic nominee. Granted, superdelegates have the power to vote en masse for Clinton, but actually doing so may throw into question the validity of the Democratic Party processes. Is ‘responsiveness to the will of the relevant public’ an essential element of a good electoral system?
****************************
And just Who is the "relevant" public???

you republicans dont stand a chance, your next president will be Barack Obama, you might as well get use to the idea, and guess what at the end of his first term you are are going to love it.
******************
At the end of his first term, we will be a 3rd world country. Accept That.

Dave Richards-

Let me just make a correction here - if we are talking about last month. It was actually the other way around concerning the gas tax holiday. McCain and Clinton supported the recent gas tax relief idea that was being floated, while Obama opposed it.

Now if you are referring to his time in the Illinois Senate, he may have supported a gas tax break in the past. Keep in mind - the economy is much worse now than in any time in the recent past. I can see how Obama wouldn't want to deprive even more money from the rebuilding of infrastructure.

This blog show how blind and stupid people can be. The fact that McCain can say "“It’s not so much that as we wanted to make sure there was an effective and comprehensive and transparent policy towards lobbyist, the most comprehensive and transparent of any presidential campaign in history, and I challenge Senator Obama to adopt the same policy.” and get away with it. After all 4 of his top advisors resigned due to lobbying. How condescending is this? also how can you be transparent if your wife will not show the public her taxes when the other candidates have? America what will it take seriously?

Reading some of these comments is downright creepy. Obama LOVES us? Do you people really believe that?

I think you're confusing OBAMA with JESUS. Obama doesn't love me, nor you. He's a politician running for office, and from his comments it is clear that Obama loves ... Obama.

He's a political candidate, he is not a god. This is an election, not a religion.

Brrr, still have the shivers. Creepy!

Barack Obama is in bed with the oil companies big time. He took big oil's line
in regard to the tax holiday for the summer. This sounded like he was in a business
meeting with Conoco Oil on the need for more domestic exploration. He wants to tax
consumers and not the oil companies for road crew jobs or highway repair.

McCain went out of his way to make sure thousands and thousands of American Boeing jobs were sent to Airbus in Europe instead of being kept here in the U.S.. The good news is that the "former" Airbus lobbyists on McCain's staff, who are now jumping ship, will probably do quite well for themselves this year.
