Obama Says Thoughts and Prayers are with Ted Kennedy
When Barack Obama left his Eugene, Oregon, hotel this morning, he walked over to a dozen or so people waiting to catch a glimpse of the Democratic frontrunner. As he did, reporters raced over to get his reaction to the news that Ted Kennedy has been hospitalized in Boston. Kennedy endorsed Obama shortly after the South Carolina primary, and has been an active surrogate for the campaign, appearing at numerous rallies alongside the Illinois senator.
Obama told reporters that he intends to phone Kennedy’s wife, Vicki. “We are going to try and find out as quickly as possible what is going on. Obviously my thoughts and prayers are with Teddy. He is one of my favorite people, and so hopefully he is going to be okay,” Obama said before ducking into his waiting SUV.
The candidate then dropped by a Eugene hospital, where he again addressed the press. “I know a lot of you are interested in the situation with Senator Kennedy,” he began. “I have been in contact with the family. Obviously they are in our thoughts and prayers - they, I am sure, will be releasing some sort of statement whent they have a better assessment of what the situation is. You know, as I have said many times before, Ted Kennedy is a giant in American political history; he has done more for the health care of others than just about anybody in history, and so we are going to be rooting for him and I insist on being optimistic about how it’s going to turn out.”
Soon after, Kennedy’s senate office released the following statement which was sent to reporters by the Obama campaign. “It appears that Senator Kennedy experienced a seizure this morning. He is undergoing a battery of tests at Massachusetts General Hospital to determine the cause of the seizure. Senator Kennedy is resting comfortably, and it is unlikely we will know anything more for the next 48 hours,” the statement read.
Ted Kennedy…. Your judgement day is on its way!!!

My prayers go out to Ted and his family. Please leave the political stuff out of it. Leave Obama out of it. Ted is sick and I think it is in bad taste to use this as a politcal campaign advantage. Keep our prayer for Ted please.

Via Yahoo news: A spokeswoman for the Kennedy family has announced that he had a seizure not a suspected stroke.
We cant beieve anything these news stations say anymore!!! They lie to the american people to make them think what they want us to think….NOT NO MORE LOOSERS!!!!! Ted Kennedy is probably dead and they wont tell anyone so that Obama can still get his vote!!!!

I too wish to leave the politcal scuffling out when it comes to someone’s life and their family… Ted Kennedy (some may have very negative things to say about him) but he has done great things for Massachusetts… I lived in Rhode Island for many years and we often heard of the improvements and his contribution. The Kennedys may have gotten their fortune through illigetimate means but at least the generations did try to give back to the people… I have and will continue to have respect for all of them. The family has endured much hardship… my prayers are with them all.
With that said…. here’s something for all the obama supporters about Florida… YOUR man campaigned in Florida when all INCLUDING Clinton said they would not… read this article… a man who will stop at nothing including lying should not be a role model and have the most important and POWERFUL job in the world….

I have never liked the Kennedys, except John, and only because of his committment to the space program. But I have to acknowledge that Ted Kennedy has worked tremendously hard to better the living conditions of Americans, and expecially our childrens’ healthcare. Go do your research and have the maturity to give credit where credit’s due- and pray for the grace to put politics and petty feeings aside and acknowledge another human being’s pain.
