Hey Dean:
Good to hear from you again. Sounds like we are practically neighbors. You are right, I do live on the west side near Seattle. It is amazing the difference between the east and west ends. My ex-husband grew up in Walla Walla, so I have been over your way many times. I'm with you, getting used to not having the lush greenery would take some getting used to. But I hope you and your family have come to enjoy it there.
Thanks for your response to my question about the strange timing of the FLDS raid. After reading up on the raid and the local politicians and dynamics there, I totally agree with you that it does not seem like an Obama supporter instigated this thing. The hoax caller is a wacko (sadly) and has done this before, as you mentioned. I read a theory yesterday that possibly Flora Jessop herself gave the crazy lady the anti-FLDS literature and Texas abuse phone numbers to call. According to a 2004 LA Times article, Flora Jessop has been chomping at the bit, wanting them to go in with guns and get everybody. It should be interesting when we learn (hopefully) the facts behind the raid. I agree with you though, if any minors are being abused, the perps need to be prosecuted--it just needs to be done in the proper manner. The appeals court just ruled today that CPS was wrong in taking all the children. We'll see what happens now..

So you are a delegate to the State Republican Convention! That’s pretty cool. As far as any issues, I’d say please just fight for Romney as Veep, which I know you’re doing anyway, and mention that it would be nice to have our gas prices lowered! Wouldn’t it be great if the Repub convention could get those things done! Thanks again, Dean.

p.s. Thanks also for the heads up in your earlier post about the imposter posters. Good info to have.

Thanks again for pointing me to that other blog. I am indeed "Dean in WA". Been living here on the East side of the Cascades for 15 years, but I am orginally from Wisconsin. So, it took some getting used to the lack of green over here. Looks like you are from WA too? I assume a West sider?

I really don't know what to make of that whole FLDS thing. The lady seems like a nut case, so I really can't imagine it being set up by the Obama campaign. While I agree that the timing seems suspicious, I didn't even think about it coinciding with Romney starting the fundraising efforts for McCain, but I heard it on the Michael Savage talk show. I know a lot of political types would love to use that story against Romney, but I can't see Obama benefiting from it- at least not with it happening in April. That would be more like an October surprise kind of move.

If it had been a Huckabee supporter making the call, then I would start claiming conspiracy- what with the sect members being carted off in Baptist buses. But again, it seems this lady is a nut, has done similar things before and I've heard she had been abused as a child. So, I can't put any validity to any conspiracies at this point.

I do wish that the authorities in UT and AZ would do more to combat the polygamists, though. If they are legally married (not just spiritually), then they are breaking the law and should be prosecuted. If they are abusing children, let's just say that is one time I am for Sharia law as to what should happen to the abusers. And if they are sucking up welfare, they should put a stop to it. Other than that, though, it isn't any different from a moral standpoint than all the unwed couples of virtually every religion doing what they are.

I hope they can sort out the whole Texas thing. Seems like lots of lies and misinformation on both sides.

Thanks again for the links. I actually went back and checked the one that I had posted and the census bureau now has the next year's data out. Huckabee continued his trend of spending going up at more than twice the rate of inflation (2.14 X). Romney in 2005-2006 had an increase that was 1.43 X inflation. Higher than I would like, but significantly less than Huckabee and less than his predecesor in MA. So I need to update my posts at the opportune time.

Thanks again and I look forward to more frutiful exchanges.

BTW- I am a delegate to the State Republican Convention next week, so let me know if there are any platform positions or anything you would like me to fight for.

You're most welcome, Dean! And I've got another link to the first of the two stories from that site, if you'd like to check it out. I noticed some very strong and factual comments from a "Dean in WA” in the usnews.com story. It looked like your expertise and style--so I'm going to assume that was you?

I'm curious, Dean. Do you have any thoughts on the hoax call/caller that caused the raid on the Texas FLDS sect? There is not much said about her in the MSM. I was very surprised to learn that she is an OBAMA DELEGATE! Her name is Rosita Swinton. Just wondering if you have any info or thoughts about the call which, because of the timing, definitely seems politically motivated to me.

Thanks for pointing that out to me.

Yeah, he won alright. And I'm voting for Obama.

NOT!!!!!

The only way he can concieve of having won is I won't waste my time debating him. He is a nice guy and I'm glad he is at least starting out as a Republican- but his passion blinds him. But I do agree with him that whether Romney, Huckabee or a list of others- I will vote McCain to stop the socialist Obama. It is just a matter of the degree to which I have to hold my nose while voting.

Isn't it amusing how Dust states in the comments above that he won all the debates?! He seems to be a nice kid (he said he is 17 years old on that website), but sadly very delusional.

Dean:

Remember Dust, the guy who is so hard to reason with? I ran into him on another site and he mentioned a few names, including yours, from the Foxnews blog. Following is are his posts and a link to them. I hope this will ensure you that I am who I say. I haven't been on the Foxnews blogs hardly at all since Romney left the race. Thus be suspect of any/many anti-Mormon, anti-Romney, pro-Huckabeen posts with my name. I wish Foxnews had better control over the credibility of their blogs.

Shelby: Are you the same Shelby I've debated on Fox news. You talk just like the Shelby I know. Let me refresh your memory. I'm dust!!
I really thought we have been over Huck ethic violations. Plus have you noticed that you also have a potty mouth.

Re Shelby
I could care less to debate you Shelby. Your like a brick wall and do not accepted facts. I however have accepted all the facts. I already know about Huckabee ethic violations and such. And you know what, they are all pretty stupid. Such as the wedding registry one. Nothing illigal there, but you would like to think so wouldn't you.
My point I'm trying to make by calling you a potty-mouth Shelby. Is that you use it agaist Huck as if it makes him un- Christian, but you claim to be a Christian Shelby. So don't be a hypocrite.
As far as the Foxnews posters ( since you obviously read my last debate) , I pretty much won that debate. I proved all of my points, and conteracted most of theirs. I got one person so ticked that He/She posted under my name. Was that you? I really don't think it was Dean or Ike.( poor fellows were hurting though, especially Ike)
I won't be able to respond if you answer back. I have work to do. But it was sort of nice hearing from you again. Lets just be friends now, ( were both thick headed ) I'm sick of spending hours trying to convince Mitt's supporters that Huckabee is by far a better canidate.( And I'm sure your sick of it to). Lets put our differences behind us and just say that we will support McCain regardless of who he picks.

Hi Shelby,

Nice to see you and marie back. I got rather tired of all the imposters blogging as you and American Conservative.

Luckily, the imposter ticked someone off who put a story together that I found on a previous (back in April) blog. I've been sitting on that information waiting until I was attacked- which he did today- completely out of the blue.

Best as I can tell, the same person uses the aliases B. Crenshaw, Mikey (West Palm Beach), Mike in South Florida, Marvin, Soon2B42, A Friend in Florida, American Conservative, Shelby, Ed Feeney. I'm sure there are a bunch more.

Reading through all the mess, it appears that this Mike in South Florida claims to have lived in a place called Shelby, NC. I assume that it hit too close to home when he saw your name and so he just had to besmirch your character. It obviously didn't hurt that the guy can't stand Mormons and therefore Romney. He apparently will go after any Romney supporter.

Thanks for the post.

Thanks TFC-
By the way B. Crenshaw, do you also go by the aliases Mikey (West Palm Beach), Mike in South Florida, Marvin, Soon2B42, A Friend in Florida, American Conservative, Shelby, Ed Feeney?

===================================================

Dean...I was quite surprised to read your post! I am Shelby (the real one) and I know there was an imposter(s) posting really vile things under my name. I am hated by Huckabeen supporters because I blog on a few websites against Huckabeen--thus they spew anti-Mormon hatred using my name. American Conservative believed it was Ed Feeney doing this childish and despicable imposter posting. Many Huckabee supporters behave shamefully as does their idol.

I am not a Mormon but have several wonderful Morman friends AND I support Mitt Romney because he is the best candidate, and as Marie stated, he should be the Prez nominee.

If this post goes through, I will try to post another with more info.

marie thomson:

I absolutely agree with you that Mitt Romney should be the VP candidate. We are not alone in this belief. The following article is from a liberal site, but it's right on the mark regarding Romney being the best VP choice and the BIGGEST THREAT TO OBAMA! I was shocked to read this on a Dem website--they usually want HuckaBeen, just as we Repubs prefer Hillary, due to presumably being easier to beat.
