Friends and foes alike, hopefully we can all be friends, even if we disagree. I am a Mountaineer, a sad Mountaineer, and sad to say it, but I am afraid we have lost. I just read something that blew my mind and makes me sad. It seems our huge looming victory here in West Virginia will be overshadowed by some hard-to-face statistics. I just read the following:

West Virginia has the lowest college graduation rate in the US, the second lowest median household income, and one of the highest proportions of white residents, at 96 per cent.

Instead of arguing and hoping as we have for many months, I believe it may be time to realize the inevitable. Senator Obama is going to be the Democratic nominee. I’ve watched in hopes that we could get different results, but it looks as if our time has run out.

I have one suggestion, take it or leave it. Let’s all ask Senator Obama how he’s gonna help us change those statistics. Let’s ask what he will do for us here in West Virginia. Let’s ask Senator Clinton how she will now help us to get Senator Obama to help us. She’s still capable of helping us.

I want to see West Virginia residents have more of a shot at succeeding in life. I’d like to see us offered more benefits. And with the likelihood of the U.S. soon departing from our dependance on oil and COAL, I’d like to see whatever takes its place put in West Virginia so we aren’t left out in the cold once it happens.

Who’s to say we have to vote for Senator McCain? Maybe Senator Clinton can work for us to get Senator Obama to spread the wealth our way?

interesting factoid…i’ve been a member on clinton’s website for months. even donated total of $300 over the course. i used to post stuff all the time on the blogs, comments and such. but the instant i began questioning if we should realize the numbers weren’t in our favor and should throw our support to the apparent nominee, even while still suggesting that Hillary could really continue to help us, i got erased. not one of my comments will appear anymore. i feel good about my decision to switch over to Obama since i get censored by her campaign.
