On Mothers Day, Hillary Woos West Virginia Women

GRAFTON, WV — Hillary Clinton celebrated Mothers’ Day with her daughter Chelsea in the holiday’s ancestral home — using its founder as a message of perseverence for a campaign that’s hanging on by a thread.

“I think it’s interesting that this holiday we start today was the idea of a woman, right here in Grafton,” she said. “Anna Jarvis prevailed against the odds. If you were to come up with an idea right now for a national holiday, and you persevered for nine or ten years like she did, it would be a labor of love. And that’s what it sometimes does take to make the changes that benefit us.”

Part of the inspiration to persevere against her own long odds, she said, comes from messages from her supporters telling her to keep her head up and forge ahead. “Over the past few weeks I’ve gotten emails from around the country from people offering words of encouragement and advice,” she said. “One man from California wrote ‘keep fighting. No matter what the outcome may be, the fact that you stood throughout the constant ups and downs of the race, one thing is sure - you never wavered and you never gave up.’”

At that, the crowd cheered - and one man loudly yelled “don’t give up!”

Hillary continued, “My favorite message was from a woman named Angela. ‘Keep strong,’ she said. ‘It’s not over until the lady in the pantsuit says it is.’”

Clinton is spending the next few days in West Virginia, where the campaign hopes a big win can give her some momentum. But with a big win lready expected due to the large white, blue collar base in the state, any result here is unlikely to have much impact on the state of play.

If Hillary is to have any political future, she will drop out after WV and KY so that it will appear she stayed in the race in order to avoid having Obama embarrassed by losing to someone who had dropped out of the race.

Barack Obama sells himself as the agent of change. Yet when you work in blood and filth it eventually gets all over you. There is no way around it. No shower can remove the smell. No cologne can keep it covered indefinitely. Barack Obama has not been in politics long, but his fast climb to arrive at the position he so desires has started to expose the amalgamated bloody fecal smell from his stockyard and identify the flea infestation that inhabits his corral. His desire to be in Chicago politics demanded that he would have to eventually attach with the Chicago political machine and its current Potentate, Richard Daley. And in the short time Obama has been indoctrinated into the Chicago Political machine he has already managed to get a lot of political fecal matter ground into his soul. His connections needed to rise to power have led him into the dark side of politics. He has been rubbing shoulders with all the right people needed to climb the political ladder but all the wrong characters that allow you to claim that you are an “agent of change”. Which in the final analysis leaves Barack Obama just another Agent of Shame not Change!

Obama appears to have sided with opposition leader Raila Odinga, head of the same Luo tribe to which Obama’s late Muslim father belonged.

Obama’s older brother still lives there. Abongo “Roy” Obama is a Luo activist and a militant Muslim who argues that the black man must “liberate himself from the poisoning influences of European culture.” He urges his younger brother to embrace his African heritage.

Beyond family politics, these ties have potential foreign policy, even national security, implications.

Odinga is a Marxist who reportedly has made a pact with a hard-line Islamic group in Kenya to establish Shariah courts throughout the country. He has also vowed to ban booze and pork and impose Muslim dress codes on women — moves favored by Obama’s brother.

With al-Qaida strengthening its beachheads in Africa — from Algeria to Sudan to Somalia — the last thing the West needs is for pro-Western Kenya to fall into the hands of Islamic extremists.

Yet Obama interrupted his New Hampshire campaigning to speak by phone with Odinga, who claims to be his cousin. He did not speak with Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki.

.

Why do the Muslims back the more left-leaning Odinga? Like leftists in Europe and America, Odinga and his faction want to use Islam to oppose Christianity, which is seen as an impediment to the left’s agenda. [snip]

We are talking about objectivity and its dire lack in the media.

It seems pretty clear that the mainstream media have two reasons for omitting the details of the story:
1. They sympathize with Islam because it is the “enemy of the enemy,” namely, Christianity.
2. They are cowards hoping to avoid a confrontation with Islam in their home countries. (WND)

I suggest a number 3. That Barack Obama is a media darling, has direct connections to Kenya and Odinga, and the press doesn’t want American voters to be aware of this connection.

See the Department of Justice DIVERSITY TRAINING VIDEO ON ISLAM HERE.

See: AMERICANS AGAINST HATE CALLS ON DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE TO CUT TIES WITH MUSLIM EXTREMIST GROUP

Americans have no faith in Congress: A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that just 1% of likely voters give Congress an excellent rating and 12% say the legislature has done a good job.

Maybe I am not a Democrat, after all. Because, let’s face it, the Democratic Party doesn’t want me– so why should I continue to want them?
I think a lotta women are asking themselves this question along about now.
I mean where in the Democratic National Committee Leadership is there a woman at all. We got Donna Brazile, who hates gays, is more responsive to her race than her sex and backs Obama because she cannot resist the movie in her head called: Triumph of the Race.
And then there is Howard Dean who hates the Clinton’s and is a progressive Democrat who went down in flames electorally; but what the hell–he is Obama’s guy on the Inside.
And then there is WHO? C’mon, all you astute electioneer armchair handicappers; Where is the woman who is in power in leadership in the Democratic National Committee? WHO?
SILENCE!!!
Ok. So we have introduced the idea that just maybe the party of our fathers and their sons has abandoned me and women by the boatload for a good long time. So isn’t supporting this party a sucker play for us?

The seniors will leave as well. And the Latinos.
Finally, anyone who thinks Barack Obama is going to carry the Jewish vote is smoking too much of the hopium. They will not support Obama who wants to negotiate with Hamas and Iran.
So how many times will the liberals insist on running this play? The one that goes, ‘Blacks and Upper Income voters will carry the day’. Because the other party knows that election gambit by heart and they ‘whup ass’ every d a m n time we go that way.
If we reject the Clinton coalition of voters this year we are committing suicide as a political party.

And I think Obama’s people think me and my kind don’t matter `cause people hate Bush so bad, ain’t nobody gonna vote Repuggie’?
“NO, NO, NO”– to quote a famous preacher. It’s a sucker play; don’t fall for it.
But jeeeze, if there is one thing this primary battle has taught me it is what a good friend just described to me: The Democratic Party could care less about me. They will not find a way to deal with Michigan and Florida so their votes count. They don’t care about the women’s vote in any way comparable to the way the care about the black vote. The Liberal wing of the party has an endless money pot so who cares if all those two-bit suckers for Hillary don’t get on the bandwagon. The liberals are buying super delegates like there is a fire sale on them.
The only thing I can conclude about all this is that money, power and privilege are the keys to the kingdom for a whole lot of Democrats. Lip service is given to the little people–you know, the ones who don’t vote for Barack because they are bitter and too busy going to church and hunting to know any better. But Liberals in the Democratic Party are now so drunk on Anti-Bush wine they think they can slide on into home plate without rounding the bases. That’s why Obama wants to declare himself the winner before all the primaries are finished

your argument is so childish. i believe that the issues we face as nation are much greater than even considering voting for more of the same with McCain.

The primaries were set by rules… Just as America is set by the constitution. We are a nation of laws. The rules of the primaries were in place before a vote was cast. Obama is where he is FAIR AND SQUARE.

Now to pull all these other issues on the table is disingenuous and teeters on INSANITY. If the tables were turned I would say congratulations and rally behind Clinton… Its an ABSOULTE SHAME you cant do the same. Are you expecting for Obama to read your argument and listen to her argument about white working class voter and say…. Hey yep your right… I concede Hillary… Here’s the nomination… Do you realize how wacky that sounds….

What are you expecting … what do you want…. talk rationally PLEASE

Here’s a sinerio I wrote out the other day, Obama has the nomination in the bag, Hillary refuses to get out of the race and continues to fire up her base and supporters. Come Nov. 30% of hillary supporters see the light and vote Obama, 30% vote McCain, 40% stay home. The dems lose the white house, and the senate, the house tightens up a little bit, come midterms dems lose the house to. within 3years we have 2 to 3 more consevitive judges in the supreme court. By the fourth year Roe v. Wade is overturned, and the republicans say mission accomplished.

We will not support a party which has fought to deny our right to participate in our election process. Barack Obama and the Democratic Party have used their power to deny rather than defend our rights as American voters - they have fought to silence our voice! This isn’t the Soviet Union! This isn’t a dictatorship! This is America - we must defend our right to vote!

we have registered more democrats than ever before. feel your pain about delegates not getting seated and votes not counted , you can blame your elected officials on that. rule is those states that jumped in line would only get 50% of their delgates counted for.in all, all votes were’nt counted for since not all were on the ballots, so that was a farce as well.

so need to learn the rules, Hillary agreed to what they said when this happened.
looks to me that florida and michigan would get seated but after we have received our nominee.

move on.

Comment by Ex-Florida Democrat

Even weaker than Obama’s, huh? Wow, that’s some endorsement for your candidate.

I guess you also don’t mind Obama using his power to silence the voices of American voters who don’t support him. And I guess you don’t mind that Obama has attended and financially supportered a racist church for 20 years. And I guess you don’t mind that Obama’s an ex-cocaine user. And I guess you don’t mind that he’s core support is based on the color of his skin instead of the content of his character.

I guess you don’t exepect much from a presidential candidate.

Comment by Ex-Florida Democrat

It’s not about what Hillary wants or what Obama wants or what Richardson, Biden, Kucinich or any of the rest of them agreed to in order to participate.

It’s about the rights of Americans to vote. Why are you willing to give that up?? Just because your candidate benefits from disenfranchising those voters - that’s shallow!

Two things,

Isn’t this country ready to move forward without going back to the Clintons, no matter if it is McCain or Obama. I don’t think a third Clinton term is good for the country. Can’t this country do anything for itself anymore including finding new leaders.

IF Hillary had risen on her own with her own political career, like Barabara Boxer, Diane Feinstein, Kay Bailey Hutchinson, I would respect her more. Then she would have started from scratch like everyone else. But when she is the former wife of a two-term president, she has gotten so much institutional credibility as you can see by having the governors of most states frimly in her camp. ANd her husband is spending every cent of his immense political capital to secure a third term for the Clinton team. I don’t think this is what our country is about. This much dependency and side deals leads to corruption and will keep new blood out of the game. I like the way she has started to fight, and I personally probably would have fought her back, but fighting her as a lady is also chancy. Honestly, if she had left Bill when he got caught doing you know what, and still ran for office and maybe now ran for the presidency, I would have been impressed with her.

My $0.02.

Comment by Angst

How do you figure Hillary is riding on Bill’s coattails? She ran for Senator in NY and beat the odds. She didn’t run on Bill’s coattails then and she’s not doing it now.

How can you not be impressed by a woman who feels it is more important to keep her family together than just walk away? Walking away would have been the easy way to do it. She didn’t.

You obviously havent’ been keeping up with just who is backing Obama. Nor have you bothered to pay attention when he LIES about not taking PAC money. Just because the media is wont to advertise these issues doesn’t mean the public is devoid of not doing their own research to find these things.

Judicial watch has an interesting article about Obama’s Illinois Senate records, you might try going there first to determine just how devious Obama really is.

Have you bothered to see his pandering for “clean coal” in Kentucky? It really is laughable.

But I suppose you also find no cause for concern that Obama is INTENTIONALLY hiding his Illinois Senate records??

Comment by Mr. J

One thing is for sure. Those that think Mr. Obama has as much expierence as Hillary evidently don’t know how to do research for themselves. They believe everything negative about Hillary and only the posotive about Mr. Obama. They refuse to try and be objective when reading about either candidate. I have never seen such a bunch of narrow minded people. We will be hiring a president. We should be looking for the most qualified person. Mr Obama is by far the least qualified of our three finalist. The biggest problem as I see it is he is unelectable in the general. Those of us who vote for the most qualified will not even concider him. His followers just can’t seem to understand that. Some of the delegates are just as delusional. Sometimes they want this so bad they are willing to risk distroying the party no matter how wrong they are. No matter how this comes out it will not change the fact Hillary is our better candidate. Those of us who will never vote Obama will have to decide between independent or John.

Obama is counting his chickens too soon. Hillary will get the West Virginians vote, Obama doesn’t care about them anyway. I was recently in Florida and no matter who you speak with they hate him there. Hillary will most likely win in Kentucky as well. You might be surprised by Oregon the people there just might be smart enough to see Obama for what he is, someone with all the wrong interests and associations with too many terrorist connnections including within his own family.

I want to know what is wrong with Ted Kennedy and Caroline for that matter that they would involve themselves with someone so questionable. I have absolutely no respect for either one of them anymore. If Obama is nominated then the Democrats will lose again, and they will get what they deserve. How dare they risk our children and grandchildren’s future with Obama.

Superdelegates you better come to your senses, Obama will not win in the general election, it is a disgrace that such a candidate is running. I will switch my vote from Hillary to McCann if Obama is the nominee and I will campaign vigorously for McCann if it comes to that. Everyone that I speak to feels the same way. What is wrong with the superdelegates that you would want to risk your own children and grandchildrens future, use your head and back the only candidate that you have to win the general election which is Hillary Clinton.

(Disassociated Press) - A multi-state path of destruction was found to be headed Northeast to Southwest Saturday. A Taz-whirlwind-like, would-be wedding crasher heading towards Crawford, TX was later found under a house at the end of the trail where the debris halted. The demise of the would-be wedding crasher apparently came about when heavy rains caused her to start yelling repeatedly “I’m melting, I’m melting.” By the time the rains ceased, only a dirty, rumpled and tacky pantsuit with a white picket fence stake through it remained. When a local resident cleaning up debris unwittingly removed the stake, the would-be wedding crasher rose up eerily, reversed direction and resumed campaigning in West Virginia.

Comment by Ex-Florida Democrat

ICHope,

It’s not just my right to vote. It’s yours too. We may not agree on who to support, but we should all agree that all Americans have a right to vote.

The principals that America stands on are far bigger than the agendas of a handful of politicians. They are far bigger than Howard Dean’s “rules”. They are far bigger than Obama’s oppresive tactics. They are far bigger than any candidates campaign.

Try to think outside of which candidate you support and instead think about the principals you believe in. If you want to live in a country where everyone has a right to vote, you should reject the tactics of Barack Obama and the Democratic Party. They do not represent the principals that America stands for.

If you want to live in a country where a handful of politicians pick and choose which voters can vote, you might be better off under a dictatorship. It will be Dictator Obama, not President Obama.

If we don’t stand up to this oppression now, then when? It may be my vote and the votes of my fellow Floridians thi time around, but you can be sure, yours will be next. If you see injustice, stand up and fight against it. Don’t look the other way, just because you’re not the one being robbed!

Be an American! Say No to Barack Obama and the Democratic Party!

Obama is a good speaker??? THAT is what makes him electable??? He is a snake oil salesman. Jeremiah Wright hit the nail on the head when he said Obama is a politician and will say what he has to in order to get elected. Have you bothered to watch any of the debates Obama has been in? He cannot debate and does not have an original thought. Hillary tried to get the moderators in the debates to focus on Obama first in order to SHOW he doesn’t have any original thoughts, but instead SHE takes the lead and all Obama does is follow in her footsteps.

Hillary had her campaign platform up and running LONG before Obama came along. He did nothing but copy hers and add just a few things in order to make them sound like his own original ideas. Oh, wait didn’t Obama already get caught using someone else’s words in his speeches pretending they were his own?

He stammers, stutters and the ONLY time he appears to be passionate about anything is when he is delivering one of his sermons after he wins a state. Do you not wonder WHY Obama was not as forceful at denouncing Jeremiah Wright’s words as he is when he gives one of his sermons at his rallies? Nor has Obama denounced Jeremiah Wright the man. He has only pretended to denounce what Jeremiah Wright SAID. And even then the only thing he was upset with was that Wright had outed Obama for saying anything in order to get votes.

As to TR - let’s say you and your husband/wife work for the same corporation. You get promoted then your spouse gets promoted, did you get promoted due to your spouses abilities or did your spouse get promoted due to your abilities? OR did each of you get promoted based on your individual abilities?

Obama puts his personal ambitions and quest for power above the rights of Americans. If he had any integrity, if he was an honorable human being, if he was a real leader, he would put America first and defend, not deny our right to vote.

Since when does the DNC trump State rights? The DNC has no business dictating ANYTHING to a State governmental body. The taxpayers paid for the primaries, the Secretaries of State certified the votes. The presidential primaries were not the only things on ballots in some of the areas. Mike you would do yourself a lot of good by reading a bio on Hillary. She has been working for women and children’s issues almost from the time she got out of college. She has been working on issues for the black community for almost as long as Obama has been alive.

I’m still waiting for someone to compare Obama’s track record from the time he got out of college with Hillary’s up until she was 46.

Obama claims to have been a civil rights attorney yet his name does not appear once in Cook County as the attorney of record for any client. Obama has still not released his Illinois Senate records. WHY??

Comment by TR

Mark,

Your Bill Ayers comment is why so many can’t take Hillary and her supporters seriously.

The Clinton’s issued pardons in 2001 to two Weather Underground radicals: Linda Evans, who was sentenced to prison for participating in a series of bombings in the 1980s, and Susan Rosenberg, who was charged with being part of a bank robbery that left a guard and two police officers dead.

Can you have any integrity not talking about this pardon which is far more questionable than attending a fundraiser in someone’s house?

Mike … In Any race there is someone in front and someone behind. This is Still America as we know it and a race is not over until Someone crosses the finish line and wins. Neither candidate has done that yet.

I am really surprised at the comments I heard on Fox News tonight about Mrs. Obama.
If you are so oppinoionated that you can’t see the problems in America then you are doing an injustice to the voters.

I am a democrat, would like Hillary Clinton to win but will support Obama if he wins the nomination. Even if Mrs. Obamais a graduate of Harvard doesn’t mean she can’t relate to those thousands of African Americans who can’t get good jobs, educate their children and hope to have a small part of the American Dream. You are doing a terrible injustice by not allowing the candidates to express their points of views not the views of the almighty press.

I am hoping that blacks and whites can put this hate behind us and lets move this country in the right direction. This room is full of hate and anger. We really need to move past that.

Lets stop this dividing of the Democratic party by Ms. Clinton and get behind our-presidential nominee Barack Obama.

Time for the super-delegates to OPEN THE FLOOD GATES and end this charade put on by hillary clinton.

obama is the chosen candidate by the most people. More delegtaes, more votes, more states.

Game over Hillary.

Let’s all get behind Obama now, and beat Mccain this fall!

WHY IS HILLARY REFUSING TO HEED THE WORDS OF AMERICANS? IS THIS THE KIND OF PRESIDENT SHE WILL BE IF SHE EVER WERE THE PRESIDENT? WE HAVE A PRESIDENT CURRENTLY (BUSH) THAT TOO, BELIEVES HE SHOULD “STAY THE COURSE” IN THINGS , AND YOU SEE WHERE THAT GOT OUR COUNTRY INTO –WAR AND FURTHER DEBT!

HILLARY IS IN HER DISBELIEF AND ANGER STAGES. HOPEFULLY SOON SHE CAN GET OUT OF HER CURRENT ” DENIAL” STAGE AND ENTER INTO HER “ACCEPTANCE” STAGE, SO WE AMERICANS CAN GET ON WITH BEATING MCCAIN IN NOVEMBER.

TIME FOR HILLARY TO ACCEPT HER LOSS, GET OUT OF DENIAL, –ALL FOR THE “LOVE” OF HER COUNTRY SHE PROFESSED TO HAVE PRE-NEW HAMPSHIRE PRIMARY TIME.

rwethereyet, because white america didn’t make hispanics or asians slaves. I think that is what Mrs Obama was talking about. Only blacks and whites were at war in the 50’s and 60’s. I think she is trying to speak to the older black people who just like white people who are mad with affirmative action, are mad and need to really let go.
