Go, Peter!! It’s about time you were speaking up. For people who don’t yet know DeFazio from Oregon’s 4th District, he’s amazing. Oregonians are really proud of him. So much so that usually nobody bothers running against him. Every time the lawmakers vote themselves a raise, Peter gives his to a scholarship / opportunity grant program that his office manages. DeFazio has a core ethic and tremendous authenticity. He could be our Senator but he doesn’t want to raise money and campaign so that’s why he’s still in the House. Plus we’ve got Ron Wyden and he’s good too.

Anyhow, what DeFazio is saying to consider about McCain’s image as a really good guy is complemented by Cliff Schecter’s recent book, The Real McCain. This book traces three different John McCains who have existed through the Arizona senator’s career. Why we think he is a maverick or an independent is that in one of these John McCains he was. Then it changed into now. So I recommend this book for all the upset Democrats who think McCain might be an acceptable alternative. Read the last chapter where Schecter predicts the cabinet we would be getting. A nightmare something like the one we’ve been living.

PS McCain keeps Lieberman around because Lieberman might be able to beat Clinton in her Israel constiuency, which she needed to win New York. However, now that McCain might not have to run against Clinton, Lieberman may just be a friend and advisor and likely running mate. He’s not the strongest running mate McCain could find. That would be Clinton. They are two peas in a pod with regard to their international bluster.

When are these idiots going to put the “keating five” to rest once and for all when it relates to McCain? The fact is McCain and Senator Glen were absolved from this. Nothing…..”nada”…….could be proven against McCain and this is why the Federal Prosecutors only investigated McCain and Glen and didn’t prosecute McCain and Glen as there was nothing there…..NO EVIDENCE!!!! It should have been called the “keating three”, not the “keating five”.

I will give you a brief on the policy issues that you mentioned. I presume you are not following Obama, so here goes:

The economy/other:
1. Provide middle class income a tax break below 100,000.00 specifically.
2. Technology and Job creations: This will include opening jobs for a more eco-friendly environment. Increase, next generation broadband, invest in rural areas such as schools, medical personnel and facilities, etc, invest in U.S. manufacturing (that means to stop the flow or slow the flow of outsourcing jobs and work to change the agreements on NAFTA, etc.
3. Labor - ensure the freedoms to unionize, protect striking workers, raise minimum wage, etc.
4. Protect home ownership and crack down on fraud
5. Reform bankruptcy laws
6. Help families balance work/home

Energy/Environment:

1. Reduce CO2s or carbon emissions, by 50% by 2050
2. Invest in clean energy fuel, i.e. clean coal
3. Support next generation biofuels
4. Improve energy efficiency by 2030, how so, here is how: buildings in the future will be built to reduce or eliminate carbon emissions, award states and localities that invest in new efficient building codes, invest in a digital smart grid

REPLY TO CATHERINE LAO: You failed to mention HOW he was going to do all of this. Oh that’s right - he is taking some of it out of the already declining SOCIAL SECURITY FUNDS. The funds coming from Hamas will go directly to his own pocket - certainly never to help our country. OR the bundled campaign funds he has collected from MAJOR OIL COMPANIES - he will never do anything that would cut into their profits. We’ve already seen that.

Where is there any substancial evidence…other than words…that Obama’s change ideas are supported by deeds of significant substance. Oh, sure he could say the system prevented him from doing what he really wanted to do….the facts show the “change motto” is simply a political fraud. The change he is professing is one of taxes (on everyone…really), let our enemies off the hook and oversight, have access to all this nation’s “secrets” (which do not show the USA was responsible for AIDS), gut the military and our security, open the borders to EVERYONE!!! and let the Ayers/Wright/and farrahkahn bunch/associates run amoke thru the govt.

The young people seem to have been taken-in by Obama who represents the opposite of the values and approaches for which they were educated by (parents $) and their current standard of living. They do not realize the severe consequences an Obama election would have on their family structure/finances/activities of the next 8 yrs during their family creation and looking to put away money for their kids college. They are sticking it in the eye of the very system which allowed them to be at their current station ….they do not sense the hazard in this Obama person and the “change for the much worse” things will become.

These young people need to be advised very soon and directly just what will occur and how they will be affected, raised taxes, illegal immigration, decreased security, future costs to correct Obama errors, reparations costs….look at what Obama is suggesting and the money…..if you think this all will come out of someone’s else’s pocket you truely are mistaken.

Clearly McCain was known as a songbird in Vietnam because of his beautiful voice - and not a bad rumba dancer, either, I understand. Between healing the sick and delivering the good news of Jesus Christ - McCain could also be found going the extra mile by ministering to poor unwed mothers in the privacy of his cell, certainly the high price of being known as the Admiral’s son. God bless him. So vigorous were his efforts to help these poor women, that some guards actually thought the young strapping McCain was being tortured in there throughout the night -and into the wee hours of the morning.

To this day, around the small villages of Hanoi, when a new unwed mother arrives in town - the locals can be heard shouting, “Quick, quick, get McCain. He’ll know what to do.” God bless him.
