Down But Not Out, Clinton Stays Steady On the Trail
PORTLAND, Ore — Despite limited resources, impossible delegate math, and a ticking clock working against her, Hillary Clinton’s first few public events after a big loss in North Carolina and too-narrow victory in Indiana on Tuesday have shown very little to suggest that she’s changed her strategy or approach going forward.
In the wake of that poor performance, some pundits suggested that Clinton would cease and desist in attacking her Democratic rival Barack Obama to pave the way for a graceful exit and possibly curry favor for a joint ticket. Indeed, in her remarks in Shepherdstown, WV on Wednesday, there was nary a mention of Obama or even “my opponent.”
But yesterday saw Clinton criticizing Obama for opposing a federal gas tax holiday — as she did in the last days before Tuesday’s primary — and calling him out for ducking a debate in Oregon, much as she did in the week after her win in Pennsylvania last month. She also repeated her standard attacks on his vote for what she calls the “Dick Cheney Energy Bill” in 2005
The only concessions to her new political reality now come in the form of defiant responses to those who would end the election before all the votes are counted.
“People say to me all the time, are you going to keep going? Of course I’m going to keep going”!” she said in Central Point, OR. And in Charleston, WV, she listed all the times she defied the odds when she was counted out. “Some in Washington wanted us to end our campaign, then I won New Hampshire. Then we had huge victories on Super Tuesday. Then we won Ohio and Texas and Pennsylvania. And I was never supposed to win Indiana,” she said. “Now there are some folks who have said, well, we needed to end this before we got to West Virginia. Well I don’t think so. I think we want to keep this going so that the people of West Virginia’s voices are heard.”
There is, however, a hint of wistfulness amid the tough talk. Clinton thanked supporters at a fundraiser in Washington for sticking with her though all of the ups and downs of this campaign. And in Central Point apologized for being late with something of a metaphor for the uphill battle she’s facing.
“We were flying against the wind,” she said. “You know, that’s the story of my life. Fly against the wind, you’ll get there eventually.”

Voters - think about it. Are you okay with electing a President who, for whatever reasons, supported this church with his time, his talents and his service?
The purpose of this post is to show that Pastor Wright published a terrorist manifesto in his church bulletin on the “Pastor’s Page,” on July 22, 2007. The author of that manifesto is Musa Abu Marzook, who is solidly connected to CAIR. This post links Marzook’s various aliases, criminality and the Hamas Charter that Marzook passionately defends. Jeremiah Wright chose to promote the “Hamas stand,” within his Christian Church.
Research, Read and you decide
google ” Musa Abu Marzook Jerimiah Wright”
Obama said ” I didn’t read that particular newsletter”
If after 20 years he dosn’t know what is going on in his church…how can we trust that he will know what is going on in the White House…then research is Middle East Advisor…Robert Maley…
Hillary’s supporters are behind her all the way to Denver. The Pundits can say this is over…but it’s not over till the convention…and ALL votes have been cast and counted….that includes Fl and MI…

Hamas Endorses Obama
http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives2/2008/04/020315.php
On Sunday, Aaron Klein and John Batchelor interviewed Ahmed Yousef, chief political adviser to the Prime Minister of Hamas, on WABC radio. The interview produced a scoop which, for some reason, has not been widely publicized: Hamas has endorsed Barack Obama for President. Yousef said, “We like Mr. Obama and we hope he will win the election.” Why? “He has a vision to change America.” Maybe Yousef has some insight into what Obama means by all these vague references to “change.”
Of course, Hamas’s taste in American presidents is suspect. Yousef also described Jimmy Carter, who was about to pay a call on Hamas when the interview was taped, as “this noble man” who “did an excellent job as President.”
Yousef was asked about Obama’s condemnation of Carter’s visit with Hamas, but didn’t seem troubled by it. Hamas, he says, understands American politics; this is the election season, and everyone wants to sound like a friend of Israel. Nevertheless, he hopes that the Democrats will change American policies when they take office

Re: Senator Obama’s Attack Today
First, let us be clear about the nature of Senator Obama’s attack today: He used the words ‘losing his bearings’ intentionally, a not particularly clever way of raising John McCain’s age as an issue. This is typical of the Obama style of campaigning.
We have all become familiar with Senator Obama’s new brand of politics. First, you demand civility from your opponent, then you attack him, distort his record and send out surrogates to question his integrity. It is called hypocrisy, and it is the oldest kind of politics there is. …
It is important to focus on what Senator Obama is attempting to do here: He is trying desperately to delegitimize the discussion of issues that raise legitimate questions about his judgment and preparedness to be President of the United States.
Through their actions and words, Senator Obama and his supporters have made clear that ANY criticism on ANY issue — from his desire to raise taxes on millions of small investors to his radical plans to sit down face-to-face with Iranian President Ahmadinejad – constitute negative, personal attacks.
Senator Obama is hopeful that the media will continue to form a protective barrier around him, declaring serious limits to the questions, discussion and debate in this race.
Senator Obama has good reason to think this plan will succeed, as serious journalists have written of the need for ‘de-tox’ to cure ’swooning’ over Senator Obama, and others have admitted to losing their objectivity while with him on the campaign trail.
Today, Senator Obama is complaining about comments John McCain made about a senior Hamas advisor stating that Hamas would welcome Senator Obama’s election as president. Indeed, on April 13th, senior Hamas political advisor Ahmed Yousef said, ‘We don’t mind – actually we like Mr. Obama. We hope he will (win) the election and I do believe he is like John Kennedy, great man with great principle, and he has a vision to change America to make it in a position to lead the world community but not with domination and arrogance.’
The McCain campaign has never suggested that Senator Obama supports Hamas’ agenda, but it is more than fair to raise this quote about Senator Obama because it speaks to the policy implications of his judgment.
Just today, the president of Iran, whom Senator Obama wants to meet with unconditionally, called the state of Israel a ’stinking corpse.’ Iran is the paymaster and state sponsor of Hamas.
In his victory speech this week, Senator Obama stated that ‘wisdom’ is meeting with our enemies, including Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, North Korea’s Kim Jong Il, Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez and Cuba’s Raul Castro. John McCain couldn’t disagree more. Rather than giving tyrants and dictators the prestige of meeting with an American president, John McCain will instead meet with the champions of human freedom around the world and opposition leaders fighting for liberty .
We understand why Senator Obama doesn’t want to engage in a debate over leadership and judgment with John McCain, but the American people demand that debate take place.
These are serious times that call for a serious debate on the profound issues facing our future. John McCain is ready for that debate and we hope Senato <> r Obama will one day get serious and join it.

Keep up the fight! It is worth it. Be there in Denver when your party clowns are falling over chairs looking to find a different nominee. Stand up and say “I’ve been here all along!” You don’t need to spend much money. Obama is gonna find out that it takes more than just money and empty rhetoric.
Or, shake ‘em up big time … and run Independent. You’ve been pissed on by your party, so piss on the back. You might even win.
BO is not qualified for this most important job in the world. This is not an internship as Mitt Romney put it. BO has serious judgment problems and is too weak to stand for what he believes. His patriotism & experience is in question.
BO’s supporters are the rudest human beings on earth with no manners and respects to others. Blacks are racists, specially those so called the black leaders. If BO can’t unite his supporters, how can he unite this country? This will be the first time in my adult life that I won’t be proud of this country if BO becomes the president. I respect McCain and our family will be voting for him if BO is the nominee. Plain and simple!!
From my point of view, the policies of Senators Obama and Clinton are essentially the same. I have supported Senator Obama this year due to his supposed ability to unify the stage of American Politics. However, if (BIG IF) Senator Clinton does end up as the Democratic nominee, I will happily vote for her because she has many strengths as well.
To all of the vindictive Clinton supporters out there: if (small if) Senator Obama receives the Democratic nomination, let go of your bruised egos and support the party that wants to end the war in Iraq, fix health care, and solve the energy crisis. Dems in ‘08!
Obama is a breath of fresh air, civilised, mannerism, realism and a clear vision where the country should be heading. Hillary lost it using the the wrong tactics and spending, and reframe some thoughts of others and make it her own, which showed a lack of creativity and ideas. In a way mccain is the same, no clarity, flip - flops to pander to the electorate, no consistency, secrecy of tax return Cindy McCain, the questionable endorsements of extreem right evangelists , halve baked policy proposals which doesn’t make any economic sense, no vision and no narrative except an old guy who wants to continue in part failed Bush policies. Mccain has hardly been scrutinized, and Obama handled his problems very well and came out of top, which shows that trying to put someone in a box wouldn’t be easy. Rep. party in real danger to loose it all, House and Senate looks a unsurmountable problem to overtake any time soon in coming years, voter registration Rep. is lacking by millions against Dem. party. On top of that a candidate who likes to talk only about foreign policy, which is hardly the right time or place when economy in dire straits.
Furthermore found him more and more a hypocrite on his stands and topics, by forsaking his old beliefs and should be treated differently because of it. Almost all the rest of the world is hoping that he looses, from asia to europe and south america, something is happening, to this country back on the world stage where it belongs.
McCAIN SUPPORTERS ARE THE WORST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD
When Obama starts blanketing all the major markets in the Country with his message. John McCain is going to be reduced to doing puppet shows at the malls to get his message out.
If you think your man’s got the best message then why don’t you cheapskates throw a little change his way and help him get the word out. DO YOU THINK THOSE SPOTS ON TV ARE FREE
This campaign going into the general election is going to be very sad. You’ve got Obama breaking all records for campaign contributions with a huge resevoir of future donors. And then you’ve got this poor old man who’s supposed to have supporters but they don’t come up with $#@% to help him.
Old John McCain might even have the better message but because of his deadbeat supporters ain’t nobody going to hear what it is.
The only one that thinks she’s down but not out is Hillary. Oh boy, now all your supporters who apparently wern’t donating $%@% to your campaign can now go over to John McCain’s side and not donate $%#@ to him either
I did not have relations with that girl - Monica Lewinsky.
I just favor brandy soaked cigars and hanging out with my black homies.
IF Obama STEALS the nomination - he will never win the election - the obama group is so mean and ARROGANT - just like him. Obama might need the Hillary supporters if he ever hopes to win that will mean “working class people”, women, Catholics, Hispanics etc…. - ALL Americans - in case you have not figured this out yet - you can NEVER be the President of the USA with just the All Black Vote! Funny how obama has not even gone to WV or KY - guess those people just don’t count - like FL & MI!!!
WE LOVE YOU HILLARY!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD FIGHT GIRL!!! FIGHT FOR US “SMALL TOWN PEOPLE WHO CLING OUR GUNS AND RELIGION” FIGHT GIRL. FIGHT!!!!! OBAMA IS A W/W. WHINING WUSS!

Hillary,
You need to quit and NOW. McCain would clock you in the election. I for one would support McCain versus Hillary. However, if Obama is running, I would support Obama over McCain.
I for one believe that the Republican party under the direction of McCain would be disastrous. When he talks about spending less, I laugh considering we are spending $15B each month in Iraq and he wants us to stay there for eternity. We can not continue this recklessness and have our economy survive.
We can not continue spending money on credit and think our dollar will increase in value.

Abby,
How is Obama “Stealing” the nomination???? Are you nuts? Obama, even counting FL and MI, still has more votes than Hillary. See for yourself on real clear politics web page.
It is Hillary that is trying to steal this nomination by wanting FL and MI counted when EVERYONE knew and agreed at the beginning that neither one would count.
Get a Life!
Hillary should not consider going on the ticket with Obama as VP candidate. Hillary is doing fine as Senator of New York. Hillary needs to stay there and help the people of New York if Obama is nominee. Obama needs to stand on his own feet and win the Presidential election on his own. Also, he needs to govern on his own if he is elected. My own opinion is that an Obama Presidency will be a catastrophe for the United States. He is viewed as weak by our enemies. His own policy statements have projected that view. In my opinion, the skyrocketing price of oil has to do with OPEC including Ahmadinejad, Chavez and Saudi Arabia seeing a weaker and compliant U.S. on the horizon under Obama. The dues he owes to his legions of Green minions and munchkins will be so great, he will be unable to take steps to strengthen our energy status and policy using our own resources — and that will have to happen if we are to stop the foreign oil extortion that is going on now.
Hillary has put up a great fight. She should have won. Leave the Party behind and go back to work for the people of your state and the rest of us who will need it with him (heaven forbid) at the helm.
Hillary, just don’t quit. Show them you are a fighter and care about all citizens voting rights.
This is AMERICA and you have that right.
God bless America.
God Bless Hillary.
South Beach,
You are somewhat correct. The US already is weak. The price of oil has to do with many factors, which includes mostly, our weakening dollar due to deficit spending. If our dollar was stronger you would not see the dramatic price increases.
As for our energy woes, it is mostly due to the fact that we leave it up to big oil companies to construct new refineries. They are content on keeping what they have and getting a very high profit margin for it at this point. Why should they increase production and drive the costs down. Even if they do, the oil will be bought overseas anyways, just like we are doing with steel and natural gas at this very moment.
India, Russia, and China coming into the industrial revolution does not help. We need to spend our money up front to get on Renewable energy and even NuKULAR as the idiot president says. I think Obama has that vision, while Clinton and McCain are bought off by big oil.
All you Hil-liar-ry supporters are pathetic. You claim OB is our Idol. I Idolize no man or woman I only fear God. OB has clearly outclassed your precious queen of evil. No slurs or mud slinging towards her or Mr. I cheated on my wife as Governor of Arkancide and as President of the United States of America. Yes I said it look it up we the American People and not just your higher than thou white Americans want to know what really happened during the Whitewater Scandal and the Rose Law Firm papers where are they. I beleive they are in the White House that is why HR will do anything to get back in the White House. Let’s ask the questions that truly matter. What was she doing at 3 A.M. when Bill was sneaking around with Monica. Sleeping because she was exhausted from dodging bullets in Bosnia. Yeah right. She was for NAFTA proven fact, She voted yes for a war which should have never occurred. Now she wants the American people to give her another chance at fixing it. I am sorry HR we are not as ignorant as you think we are. Another question where are you exactly from? is it NY, Illinois, Pennsylvania ohh I get it as of today you
are from West Virginia, you attended school with the Great Jerry West. Please lady you are disillusional. Bow out gracefully. The only way you will return to the White House will be as Obama’s guest. It’s over. Nah Nah Nah Nah hey hey goodbye. Bring on McShame I mean Bush the third because that will be what you fools will get another term of the Bush and Cheney administration which equals Chaos.
Good Afternoon NYRican

Sorry, Cathy, but its absolutely true. I know how to overcome my ego; of course, I don’t think I’ll have to with respect to this year’s election. Please reconsider before you vote for McCain. He is on the opposite end of most of the policies that Sens. Obama and Clinton support.
I am ashamed that Hillary is leading by large margins in WV and KY. She repeatedly states she appeals to the lower income, lower educated voter. Just what I would want –a lying woman and her adulterous man being my role models. Come on West Virginians and Kentuckians, do we really think she sincerely cares about us? She and Bill are opportunists who will leave us in their dust when they are finished with us. Lets show her we are not low income and low IQ followers of the self-centered Billary combo. Don’t be fooled by her self-centered drive for the White House and her total state of delusion and denial that IT IS OVER!!!
Why is it that whenever Obama is asked a question that the American people Do want an answer to….he just says ” See, that’s what I mean. Those are just distractions “. It IS the distractions that Scare the #*!@ out of him and the Republicans Will get the answers.

you know these people that voted for this stranger obama must be very blind and deaf they cant see what is happening here. cnn mxnbc and the other tv stations who have pushed obama on us will be seen as traitors they admittedly kept pushing obama down our throats and i dont think it is fair , i dont think it is fair that they keep on and on about anything hillary says turning her words around.making up stuff to look like she has said things she really did not. you know the old saying what goes around comes around. and it might look like they win but i would not be suprised is obama kicks them to the curb. how much money do you think deep pockets has.? i hopoe the american people wake up from this stupor and see what is going on before it is too late. but for me i am going to write in hillarys name or vote for mccain we know him we dont have any idea what obama has in store for us.
i have been a clinton supporter . i know what the good times were like . and i dont want to take a chance on our future. we are in a mess.
Obama trying to sweet talk Hill so her supporters will come to him in general. I can hear it now
“Unite the country for CHANGE”. God almighty we can’t have his kind of CHANGE. We’ll all be eating s..t with the chickens.
McCain on OReilly now.
Clinton is certainly not black enough!
But it is doubtful that
you do not know how to vote
even though you are not black enough.
Good night Irene… er… uh… Hillary.
And as Don Meredith sings… “Turn out the lights, the party’s over.”
Most of the comments I read by some of our white folks brothers and sisters are sickening. I am an 80 year old white lady. I had been a clinton supporter for over a decade. Sometimes, you’ve got to step outside and see the mess you had been into. I was in a mess surrounding by racists, deceptionsists, dividers and ranters and Hillary camp is not an exception; it is notorious for it!. I donated a total of $3000 to her campaign but I am now regretting it. She is a liar! She is racist of late! She is a divider! If Obama were white with such a lead this would have ended long since. It is so disturbing when I heard Clinton said “the race card has been played on me”! This pathetic and a political stunt kind of statement. Blacks had been voting for white candidates for over a generation and no one called it “a race card played on me”! Now that they vote for a black candidate because of his belief to change the system in Washington DC, pathetic fools cry out “a race card been played on me”! Look, those who are playing the race card here are some of my fellow white folks who cannot stand a better change; but, you want it or not, majority of us want that change and so we are behind Obama, not because of his color but because he is an American just like us and we believe in the change he stands for. The game of race card is a game of fire which when it is uncontrollable will be another revolution in this civilised nation! I urge you with all my heart to unite and prove to the world that we are not racists nor divided but united as one! Please vote for Obama! Let’s give him a chance to prove himself to us and the world. CAN’T WE SEE THAT HE DOES NOT WANT TO HURT ANYONE? HE LOVES ALL AND HATE NONE. I am with all my heart donating his camp a $1500 today and with the rest of my neighbors.
I just can’t stand this guy Steve Obama - he is such a facade and liar and geesh the people of this nation are as ignorant as hell. Clinton holds half of the country and the other half is held by young and ignorant and misled voters….how said for America - we will live with another Republican at least for the next four years. No way would I even consider voting for an arrogant loud mouth and spineless idiot. Yuk! Time to move to Canada.
I am an independent who is utterly thrilled Obama will be the nominee. That means John McCain will be our next President. Obama is a likeable, articulate Mike Dukakis. Nothing against him, he seems like a good man with a good heart; I just shudder at the thought of socialist agendas and this unprecedented dearth of experience in the White House.

How is he stealing the nomination? Some of you seem to forget that Hillary didn’t want to count the votes of FL or MI until she was losing. Then her name was the only top tier name on the ballot in MI. Besides the people of FL and MI elected those officials that decided to break the rules. Don’t blame Obama, blame those elected officials of FL, and MI who are Clinton supporters for failing her campaign they tried to nudge things in her favor and it backfired. Stop the he’s stealing the election and talk about policies. You people who are crying over lmost of this crap didn’t even vote, so get a clue, and grow up

And Obama’s not an American………………. so what constitutes as being an American, last time I checked he was born in the United states of America…….. making him an American. Lets not forget that NONE of our ancestors excluding Native Indians(Native Americans) we from here either. make points that have value or that have substance go rant and rave somewhere else
HILLARY CLINTON CAN BEST WIN IN NOVEMBER:
IT’S ABOUT ELECTABILITY !!!
It’s time for everyone to face the truth. Barack Obama has no real chance of winning the national election in November at this time. His crushing defeat in Pennsylvania, and loss in Indiana makes that fact crystal clear. His best, and only real chance of winning in November is on a ticket with Hillary Clinton as her VP.
Sen. Obama has zero chance of winning against the republican attack machine, and their unlimited money, and resources without Hillary Clinton. Zero chance.
It is absolutely essential that the democrats take back the Whitehouse in November. America, and the American people are in a very desperate condition now. And the whole World has been doing all that they can to help keep us propped up.
Hillary Clinton say’s that the heat, and decisions in the Whitehouse are much tougher than the ones on the campaign trail. But I think Sen. Obama faces a test of whether he has what it takes to be a commander and chief by facing the difficult facts, and the truth before him. And by doing what is best for the American people by dropping out of the race, and offering his whole hearted assistance to Hillary Clinton to help her take back the Whitehouse for the American people, and the World.
Sen. Obama is a great speaker. And I am confident he can explain to the American people the need, and wisdom of such a personal sacrifice for them. It should be clear to everyone by now that Hillary Clinton is fighting her heart out for the American people. She has known for a long time that Sen. Obama can not win this November. You have to remember that the Clinton’s have won the Whitehouse twice before. They know what it takes.
If Sen. Obama fails his test of commander and chief we can only hope that Hillary Clinton can continue her heroic fight for the American people. And that she prevails. She will need all the continual support and help we can give her. She may fight like a superhuman. But she is only human.
Don’t be fooled by the pledged delegate, and math arguments. Neither candidate has the necessary pledged delegates. The entire delegates counts, and votes from Florida, and Michigan are not even being counted. Plus the democratic caucuses, and primarys have been heavily corrupted by fraud, and vote cheating. The only relevant question now is who can best WIN IN NOVEMBER and take back the Whitehouse for the American people. And the answer is HILLARY CLINTON. Everyone knows that now.
Sincerely
Jacksmith… Working Class
p.s. I have been under heavy attacks for some time now. But it wont stop me.
