Iran Protesters Interrupt Clinton Fundraiser

WASHINGTON — Seconds into HIllary Clinton’s remarks at a fundraiser for women in Washington, she was greeted with a silent protest by one of the few men in attendance — who stood on his chair to unfurl a huge black banner reading “Obliterate Iran? Apologize” in bold pink lettering.

Clinton told “Good Morning America” a day before the Pennsylvania primary that the US would react strongly if Iran ever launched a nuclear attack on Israel, saying “we would be able to totally obliterate them.” That

As one woman fought the lone protester for his sign and the crowd began to boo, Clinton silently waited it out — until finally the man was escorted from the room by security amid chants of “Hillary! Hillary!”

“I certainly hope he didn’t step on any of the cookies,” Clinton said.

But that wasn’t the end of it. Just a few minutes later, Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin stood up near the front of the room and began shouting about the children in Iran and Iraq, and demanding that Clinton apologize for her “obliterate” comment and her Iraq vote. This time, as Benjamin was escorted out holding up two-fingered peace signs, Clinton acknowledged the protest.

“That’s alright,” she said. “I’m happy that people feel so intensely. And I hope they paid to come.”

But she took umbrage at press reports suggesting that only Barack Obama’s supporters feel so strongly about their candidate. “There seems to be a lot of coverage about how passionate the supporters of my opponent are,” she said. “I think I’ve got some pretty passionate supporters myself.”

She credited those supporters for keeping her in the race. “We’ve been voting now for about four months. It seems like four years, but it’s only been four months,” she said. “I’ve been counted out more than once, but thanks to all of you, I’ve come back.”

“When I was counted out in New Hampshire, it was the women of New Hampshire who came back and said no, she’s not finished yet. When I was counted out before Super Tuesday, it was women from California to Massachusetts who came and said no we’re not finished yet. When I was counted out before Ohio, before Indiana, we have always come back.”

“I am in this race, I am staying in this race, because I believe that I would be the best president and that I’m a stronger candidate against John McCain,” she said to applause. Smiling, she added “do you know how difficult it is for women to stand up and say we are the best at anything?”

“Too many people have fought too hard to see a woman continue in this race,” Clinton continued, seeking to allay the fears of those who believe the protracted race is hurting the party. “There is no cause for alarm. Sometimes you’ve got to calm people down a little bit.”

“We have plenty of time to make the case against Senator McCain,” she said. “I landed in New Hampshire on a Thursday night down 9 points, and I won on Tuesday. You can turn elections in a day.”

Finally, Clinton hinted at a new approach to getting the delegations from Florida and Michigan seated at the Democratic National Convention, saying “I will be sending a letter to Senator Obama and to chairman Dean expressing my strong belief that this issue about the voters in Florida and Michigan is a civil rights issue. It is a voting rights issue. And we need to stand up and say the Democratic party is smart enough to figure out how to make sure we don’t disenfranchise two states we have to win when it comes to the November election.”

Clinton raised a much-needed million dollars at this sold out event. Of the 1,500 people who paid $250 and up to see Senator Clinton here at the Omni Shoreham hotel, fewer than 100 were men.

Election officials here say nothing illegal happened to slow the pace of the vote count. They say this was a case of wanting to take the time to get things right.

But Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita said the Lake County election board needs to be more accountable.

“This is a board made up of politicians and political wannabes,” he said. “And I don’t put politics past delaying the vote or anything like that.”

Uncommitted Democratic superdelegates in Congress overwhelmingly say they won’t necessarily back the presidential candidate who wins the most primary delegates. Instead, electability will be very important in their decision.

Of 42 lawmakers interviewed by The Hill, only four said they regarded the primary vote as decisive.

It’s the electability, stupid!

John McCain’s “love child” pretty much derailed his first presidential run. Did he think it was gonna disapear on his second attempt at the WH? John McCain never addressed the issue, he just chose to ignore it and hoped it would go away. Well it’s not Mr. McCain.

In Pennsylvania, Clinton won whites 18-29 (52-48), 30-44 (58-42), 45-59 (63-37), 60+ (68-32). In North Carolina, whites 18-29, just 8% of the vote, went for Obama 57-41. But whites 30-44 went for Clinton (52-45), 45-59 (64-33), 60+ (69-29).

Barack Obama is almost certain to be the nominee, and Tweety is ebulliant about his guy looking like the nominee. But let’s stick to the facts please. On the demographics, nothing got better for Obama. The difference between North Carolina and Pennsylvania is there are a lot more African American voters in North Carolina. She never had a chance to win it. Ever.

In the Left blogs today, it is considered a mortal sin to point out that Barack Obama has trouble connecting with white working class voters. It is a mortal sin to point out that in the South Carolina campaign, the Obama campaign fed the narrative that the Clinton campaign was race baiting. Indeed, the Left blogs themselves led the charge with this smear, notwithstanding the fact that it was utterly illogical. In South Carolina, the last thing the Clinton campaign would have wanted was African American voters rallying to Barack Obama.

In February, Obama was able to nimbly straddle appealing to African American voters while maintaining a broader appeal. Wisconsin and Virginia appeared to be watersheds, where Obama won both the white and African American voters (he has consistently lost Latino voters.) But from Ohio on, it became clear that Obama would not be able to sustain that. Jeremiah Wright was the biggest reason why.

A TM poster said she got a call for a donation on Saturday from Hillary’s campaign. It raised a red flag because they knew how much her last contribution was.
The saturday before I also got one, he was a black man from Chicago, it threw up my red flag and I did not contribute.
After the antics of this campaign, could it be possible for Obama’s campaign to be doing this?
If they would steal and buy votes, why wouldn’t they take her contributions and use her phone banking to contact and support Obama.
I believe this is the most corrupt campaign organization I have ever witnessed.
I also want to throw out an idea, that I thought of today. I have always heard how powerfull the Clinton machine is, so if you wanted to fight it what would you do? I believe if I were a republican I would try the Daly machine and see if that would bring them down, along with duping bambi and the losers like McGovern, Dean, Pelosi and the rest of the idiots. It certainly would be a great source of pride for the republican party.
I still will not vote for Obama because of how he treated us women and how he has treated Hillary. I will not follow Hillary in supporting that terrorist sympatherizer, no matter how the republicans will realize their dream.

I remember thinking last night when I heard john saying ‘we need to wait’ wondering why.

So axelrod had to know something about the fraud occuring in Indiana last night.

Barack Obama is running on his “judgment” and “integrity in government.” He tells us that Washington is broken, and he is the one who can fix it. But looking back at his fast rise up out of the slime of Chicago politics, one can legitimately question where he got the “creds” to fulfill what he professes.

Rev. Wright has probably used up most of his 15 minutes of fame. But why Obama chose to attend and financially support a church whose religious leader screeched anti-American diatribes remains unclear. However, far more telling about Obama’s character is his statement that he could no more disown Rev. Wright than he could disown the Black community, followed shortly thereafter by tossing him into a ditch when Wright resurfaced spewing essentially the same old rants. What firm commitments would he make as President that are subsequently turned upside down? What impact would such 180 degree turnarounds have on our people or our country?

This story comes from a dedicated volunteer in Oregon doing phone calls:

I just took a call from a disabled lady who wants to make a contribution. Donations are a big hassle for us because we are not set up to take cash. So the best we can do with non-wired people is have them come down for the donation-by-mail form. This lady is going to buy a $100 money order for Hillary out of her disability income.

AND, she said she would do anything to help Hillary win. Ding, ding, ding - a recruit!

But this one is special. She is paralyzed from the neck down, She can call from home, dialing with her tongue. She has promised to make calls for 20 minute shifts, the period that her phone battery lasts.

If that doesn’t make you choked up, you’re tougher than I am.

If you haven’t noticed The people backing Hillary are the same people who do the most volunteering. They are the people who are the good Samaritans, the ones who donate the most to charities, the same one who always find time for those in need. Those backing Mr. Obama are the greedy ones that always are the first to be putting their hand out. His followers are the ones who believe in the hell with anyone else, what’s in it for me. Chicago politics and coruption are one of the same. The only way Mr Obama will pull this off is if strings are pulled in his favor. This entire campaign has been tainted. Cuacusses are no more than the biggest thug wins. It time to start getting this straightend out. Hang in their for Hillary we’ll get this done right.

Comment by obama divided the DEMS and USA

Let the pundits say whatever they want…

She just won 4 big primaries. Yeah, Obama won North Carolina, but out of the ten biggest states he has only won two- his state, Illinois, and North Carolina. She just won the state next door to his. I don’t care what anyone else says- that is HUGE.

The democratic party has some big fish to fry. I am in Florida, and let me tell you- we are pissed. The DNC has alienated 2 million democrats in one of the most important states in a general election.

Obama has upset many of his supporters here. He seems to discount the fact that hundreds of thousands of Floridians went out to the polls just to vote for HIM. He turns around and declares their vote doesn’t matter? Not a smart thing to do…

LET ME MAKE SOMETHING VERY CLEAR ABOUT FLORIDA.
As we all know, it is a swing state. As we all know, it is a state of utmost importance in a general election. The FLORIDA STATE LEGISLATURE, a REPUBLICAN MAJORITY, made the decision to move the primary up to January. This was NOT a decision made by the Florida Democratic party.

But the DNC has decided that 2 million democrats must incur a punishment for what republicans did. They have decided our vote doesn’t matter.

This is the dumbest thing the DNC could do right now, let me explain…I have a theory-

Charlie Crist. MODERATE, republican governor of Florida. EXTRAORDINARILY popular across party lines. I am a dem through and through- and I have to admit, even I like Crist.

The republicans have been very quiet throughout this whole process. Who will McCain’s VP be? I don’t mean to sound morbid, but the man, should he be elected, will be in office until he’s 79 years old…whoever winds up on the ticket with him will have to be considered as a potential president for the next 8 years.

McCain is from the midwest. Crist is from the southeast… It is a republican dream ticket.

Crist gets on that ticket, the Democratic Party is in big trouble. Mark me, Floridian Democrats will cross party lines if Hillary is not the nominee.

They HAVE to seat Florida’s delegates. They HAVE to count our votes. The DNC can’t afford to piss off Florida’s democrats. Simple as that.

Personally, I’d vote democrat no matter what. But a lot of dems here, at least people I have talked to, will vote McCain if she does not get the nomination. I have a hard time comprehending this rationale- but a lot of people will turn their back on the democratic party.

It is not just in Florida. Polls across the country are showing that Obama supporters are happy to vote either candidate in a general election. Her supporters aren’t. The DNC has to consider this.

A lot of the states that Obama has won will go Republican in a general election. I don’t know why the media is lending such credence to these wins. Clinton is winning all the keystone states- the swing states.

This is definitely not over. We have to mobilize behind her, work harder. As soon as I post this, I am going to make another $50 contribution. I am a 22 year old college student. I make $8 an hour. I have resorted to public transport because I can’t afford gas. But I have also decided that I can’t afford not to have Clinton in the White House.

My blood, sweat, tears, and meager donations are all I can offer- but I believe in Hillary Clinton. I believe in her so much that I will stand by her all the way to the end. Even If she doesn’t win, I know she won’t go silently into the night. That’s the kind of president I want in office. She’s the kind of candidate I am willing to fight for.

She can win this- and YES SHE WILL! She has braved the pundits, the insults, the vitriol spewed at her from all directions. Has she backed down? NO. Will we back down? NO!!!

I implore you, match my $50 donation right now. Clinton is the little engine that could- the little engine that WILL. Is she out of steam? NEVER. It’s a long hard trek up the hill, but I am behind her all the way to the White House.

2) Obama’s foreign policy is naive and dangerous.

4) I, as do many others, question Obama’s judgement and he lacks my trust because…

5) His voting record completely contradicts his campaign rhetoric. So much so in fact it’s almost amusing.

I like talking to you Scott. I had things to do. I don’t have to be on the comp all day like you since you have no life. Now, you should worry about if Bill is going to have some problems explaining where he got the money from.

Actually I just got home from work. I haven’t been here since this morning. Frankly I could care less about Bill. What makes you think I support Hillary?

Oh good Scott, I have somebody to debate when it comes to John McKeaton

I will be happy to. First accept that I have legitimate reasons for not supporting Obama that have nothing to do with race and then I will be happy to change the subject

Subject: North Carolina and Indiana voters registered and voted before the “Rev. Wright” issue

Before you decide on who to support for the presidential nominee, please read the following transcript from CNN.

According to CNN in one of their exit polls, Bill Schnieder reports on May 6, 2008:

Eighty (80) percent of Obama voters, voted before the Wright Issue in NC by mail in votes.

This is important for Clinton supporters to know. If Senator Obama had votes before the whole “Pastor Wright Issue” was addressed by the media, the election in both states might be a little more revealing of it’s impact on voters.

I may be wrong with the exact number. Please investigate this issue.

You what I have noticed is that not one media network ever i mean ever talks about Tony Rezko, I wonder why. So much is going to happen with this guy and that should be huge news. I always heard about these words liberal media biased years ago and I never thought about it but this is what’s happening. The more Hillary attracts republicans the more CNN and Msnbc is going to hate her. There should be a law against the way the media is treating her. I bet CNN rating are going to dive after the election, do they ever think about that.

Look everyone- Hillary Clinton is now considered delusional! She HAS to be in some serious denial at this point. She has 16 and something delegates. Barak has over 1800. He needs less than 200 delegates. She needs close to 400. More of the Superdelegates are siding with Barak Obama.

The woman is delusional if she thinks she is going win the nomination!

This kind of self destruction attitude is probably how she got through her husband cheating on her so much. I would bet Hillary and her husband have a plan to twist or (break arms) over Florida and Michigan. I wish they BOTH would get out of Washington altogether! They are the biggest criminals and liars that I have ever seen! THEY ARE WORSE THAN WATERGATE!

You would rather let McCain invest Billions into Iraq when that money can be spent right here in the U.S.A. Obama devided is a retard and don’t know what he/she, I think more she is saying.

I just signed up on McCain’s site and blog, new handle is newdemrepublican, how do you all like that? We’ll see what transpires, I will not vote for Bambi and that is not going to change!

Should Hillary lose the Democratic Nomination to Obama, this would be the end of the Democratic Party. It is the blue collar workers, the latinos and other minorities that are keeping the Democratic Party afloat. Absent Hillary’s coalition, all we would be left with would be the AA’s and the liberal left.

GOODBYE DEMOCRATIC PARTY!!!

the proof of what you say???????……………… is in how much the DNC has raised for it’s GE coffers ! zip!!!

Hey Obama divided, did you know that Hillary and Bill knew Rezco more then they say? They also told Rezco where to donate money to for the Clintons. They are the worst.

I will address that in a second. Stop changing the subject you brought up. I gave you five solid reasons why I do not support Obama. I will be happy to do into detail with each of them if you wish. Now accept that the reasons i provided are legitimate opinions that have nothing to do with rac
