Hillary: Indiana Comeback Means It’s On To West Virginia
SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — The Clinton campaign continued on without a break after last night’s potentially devastating results, as Hillary Clinton made a last-minute stop in this college town to tell voters in the upcoming primary state just how big her two-point win in Indiana really was.
“We were very excited about our come from behind victory in Indiana, where people are concerned about the economy,” she told a crowd of supporters mixed with a healthy number of students with Obama t-shirts. “There’s a lot of reasons why I think we came from about 8 or so points behind to win. And it’s because people really know they need a president again who’s going to focus complete attention on making sure you have the jobs that will give you the living wages that will give you a chance to have a better life.”
So with that narrow win under her belt, Clinton said she’s ready to move ahead. “Next Tuesday will be one of the most important elections in this entire process,” she said. “West Virginia is one of those so called swing states. Democrats need to win it in the fall. I want to start by winning it in the spring to lay the groundwork for a victory in November.” Clinton campaign aides pointed out that no Democrat in recent history has won the White House without carrying West Virginia.
Speaking to reporters after the event, Clinton said the voters she did well with in Indiana and North Carolina will carry over to West Virginia. “I hope to do very well on Tuesday because it’s one of the swing states,” she said. “I feel good about how I did among independent voters and swing voters in both North Carolina and Indiana.”
But with just a 2 point win in Indiana and a resounding defeat in North Carolina, reporters were more interested in her shortcomings than her successes. Pressed on whether she’d continue ahead to the convention, Clinton said “I’m staying in this race until there’s a nominee. I obviously am going to work as hard as I can to become that nominee.”
And asked whether her $6.4m loan to her campaign was a sign of weakness, Clinton said “it’s a sign of my commitment to this campaign. It’s a sign of how much I believe in what we’re trying to do.”
“I’ve been willing to loan that money to my campaign so that we could be competitive, and I think it paid off,” she said.
Clinton claimed her path to victory lies in more hard work in the upcoming states - to include a Thursday that will see the candidate stop in West Virginia and South Dakota before winding up in Oregon. The indefatigable Clinton will do all she can physically to win, as she always does, but while such hard work is necessary for a win it’s not sufficient; her grueling campaign schedule featuring five stops a day in Indiana and North Carolina last week didn’t quite pay off.

hahahahaHAHAHAHAH FCK News is REALLY hillarious, this lot are hopelessly rubbish at bending the facts, but i think its crystal clear now the idea that mass media like FCK News can make or break a king is taking a severe beating, it looks like voters dont take much notice of the media otherwise obama wud be dead in the water long ago
I’m from Florida and I just want everyone to realize of how they would feel if thier vote didn’t count. People go vote when thier representatives tell them to go vote, the people didn’t have anything to do with this, it is the people that represent us. And once again they messed us up. I’m starting to think they do this on purpose. Sure maybe Hillary won’t make it, but we really will never know, because it wasn’t done fair. And Obama says that the only thing that needs changing is in Washington. And Washington needs to step in and say the people didn’t do this. How would the republicans feel, if this happens to them, because of thier officials, and it just might. How would you like your state to split the votes. Now come on try to make this fair for everybody, please. Thank-you
Obama is unelectable..and If any of his supporters and Pundits think that Hillary supporters are going to get behind him…they are dellusional…after she has been trashed and disrespected by the Pundits ,Obama Campaign..and his supporters…Not going to happen.
This primary is not over…and remember Superdelegates can change thier mind at anytime…and we still have MI and FL to settle…so let the remaining States vote…I for one cannot wait until Peurto Rico votes…a BIG WIN….
Wake Up America…Lets not forget who Obama is….
Below are comments from Ken Balckwell…I posted the entire article on another blog…
Ken Blackwell - Columnist for the New York Sun
He’s the next George McGovern. And it’s time people learned the facts.
Because the truth is that Mr. Obama is the single most liberal senator in the entire U.S. Senate. He is more liberal than Ted Kennedy, Bernie Sanders, or Mrs. Clinton. Never in my life have I seen a presidential frontrunner whose rhetoric is so far removed from his record. Walter Mondale promised to raise our taxes, and he lost. George McGovern promised military weakness, and he lost. Michael Dukakis promised a liberal domestic agenda, and he l ost.
Start with national security, since the president’s most important duties are as commander-in-chief. Over the summer, Mr. Obama talked about invading Pakistan, a nation armed with nuclear weapons; meeting without preconditions with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who vows to destroy Israel and create another Holo*caust; and Kim Jong II, who is mu*rdering and starving his people, but emphasized that the nuclear option was off the table against terrorists - something no president has ever taken off the table since we created nuclear weapons in the 1940s. Even Democrats who have worked in national security condemned all of those remarks. Mr. Obama is a foreign-policy novice who would put our national security at risk.
Next, consider economic policy. For all its faults, our health care system is the strongest in the world. And free trade agreements, created by Bill Clinton as well as President Bush, have made more goods more affordable so that even people of modest means can live a life that no one imagined a generation ago. Yet Mr. Obama promises to raise taxes on “the rich.” How to fix Social Security? Raise taxes. How to fix Medicare? Raise taxes. Prescription drugs? Raise taxes. Free college? Raise taxes. Socialize medicine? Raise taxes. His solution to everything is to have government take it over. Big Brother on steroids, funded by your paycheck.
The real Mr. Obama is an easy target for the general election. Mrs. Clinton is a far tougher opponent. But Mr. Obama could win if people don’t start looking behind his veneer and flowery speeches. His vision of “bringing America together” means saying that those who disagree with his agenda for America are hij*ckers or w*rmongers. Uniting the country means adopting his liberal agenda and abandoning any conflicting beliefs.
It’s time to talk about the real Barack Obama. In an election of firsts, let’s first make sure we elect the person who is qualified to be our president in a nuclear age during a global civilizational war.
The Howard Dean party will in a year where the democrats should win the White House back by a landslide figure out a way to screw it up.Why? Its very easy.A third grader could figure this election out.100% of the Blacks will vote for Obama. Then he will carry the far left up class. But,he will lose the middle class vote in the swing states of Ohio,PA,FL.Election Over!!
Try in 2012 Obama!!
I will not waste my vote on Obama. If Hillary Clinton did not get the dem nomination then I will vote McCain for president. OBAMA will CHANGE OUR COUNTRY FOR THE WORST (Change you can believe in).
Why would Hillary give up? She has every right to stay on this race. She’s tough and that means very capable to be the next president of the US. She’s able to withstand her critics especially the media (who gives obama — the rockstar, a free pass all the time).
Reminds me after the Obama camp got so obvious with the fake fainting they stop hiring people to faint on his campaign stops.
If Obama is the dem. nominee, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY ADULT LIFE I WILL BE VOTING A REPUBLICAN FOR PRESIDENT.
Go Hillary
If not
I am voting for McCain

Giz…welcome to the Republican Party. You’ll like it here. We don’t God D*** America, we don’t hang out with terrorists, we don’t need to become millionaires, and have our spouses running for President to say we’re proud of our country.

Who says Obama’s Foreign Policy Ideas are bad ones. I wonder it was those that are responsible for our current foreign policy. We have done so well in the world over our history. Vietnam was a Foreign policy success right? Korea? The First Iran Iraq war. The first war in Afghanistan. WMD in Iraq. How about China, North Korea, Iran, Bosnia, The Middle East. I don’t see many successes to trumpet. I would Question the sources of those Opinions.
Economic Policies - have you actually read any point papers or are you just repeating what the pundits say. Economically Barack and Hilliary a near identical in their plans.
Unelectable - That’s on you. Remember you are making the bed. If you would vote the other party out of spite (which essentially all it is) and go against a candidate whose voting record and planned policies are comparable to the one you are supporting then you deserve what you get. But while you are doing all the he is not what he seems arguing - you should take a few momonets and gaze at your own reflection and see how faithful you have been to your own principles.
Hillary announced her candidacy first and Obama has done nothing but run on her platform. The only thing he has done is make changes to her healthcare policy.
I want the Obama campaign to tell me in no uncertain terms exactly what “changes” he is going to put in place. The word “change” means nothing without some substance to back it up. All these superdelegates supporting Obama and his alleged “change” to politics - where were they before? Were they so incompetent that THEY couldn’t and wouldn’t effect change?
Where are Obama’s Illinois Senate records? WHY does he keep hiding them? Where are his tax returns while he was in the Illinois Senate? He and his campaign whined and bellyached demanding Hillary’s tax returns, but he was such a whimpy, whiney empty suit that he hadn’t even released his.
Obama does not have enough electoral college votes at this point to win anything.
He has REFUSED to allow anything to be done with the FL and MI delegates yet he will come begging for their votes come election time IF he gets the nomination. Voters aren’t likely to forget that and it will be a great issue for the Republicans to make against Obama.
Regardless if you are a Clinton supporter or not….we all have the media to blame forcing Billary on us every since her questionable Senate race in 2000. If she was never married to a president…No one would have ever heard of Billary. She is merely a coat tale politician that had no real experience just a last name that she married. She had questionable practices during her legal days working for a small lawfirm.
Here’s the bottom line…..WE ALL have contributed to her campaign whether you wanted to or not. Who do you think pays for every trip that her husband makes on her behalf??? The US Taxpayer…yes…. The Secret Service needs to arrive before the former prez ever gets there so there all that expense that no one is talking about. I know we will never see what the real expense is to the tax payer to support her campaign but it will be well over a million dollars. And the longer she drags this out, she is punishing every single US taxpayer. Even if the government bills her for all this service…do you ever think she will pay for it since all the Clintons think they deserve it.
Also, with every one that is struggling to pay a mortgage….here’s is something else to ponder. Billary wants to help you out in some fashion…but…..and here’s the kicker…The Clintons bill the US government for the expense to have the US Secret Service at their residence in NY. And its exact amount of their monthly mortgage payment……Who’s the elist now???
Look at who Obama has as his foreign policy advisor in this campaign. That should be one of the first wake up calls.
I am disappointed the media hasn’t spent more time on this and the other issues I pointed out in my prior post.
Take a look at the people behind the scenes working for Obama. The media won’t point it out and it will be up to the voters to find the information. The Republicans will use all of that as ammunition against Obama and will question why he uses the word “change” while all the time using the same people who have always been involved with elections for their own personal gain.
Hillary Clinton has been expected to win West Virginia forever. It shows how stupid and gullible our state can be at times. As a native West Virginian I am embarrassed that we are only ranked near the top in obesity and low incomes. We should vote for Barack Obama like we did for JFK and dare to be different and bold for once. Hillary will tout her win here as a comeback for her while it will be a setback for the state. I didn’t fall for her phoney tax holiday. I would like to give people some relief from gas taxes too, but know that is impossible, so I won’t promise that. She knows she can’t do that for people and has pandered to their emotions about gas prices. I hope the media will not show her win here as a big comeback victory for her, but instead as a racial prejudice that unfortunately abounds in West Virginia.
will not vote for obama. hilliaryor john mcain.will not just stay at home obama does not deserve my half vote.this is why i will give john mccain my whole vote.
The reporters and DNC leaders can vote for Obama in GE.
I will vote for McCain.
Obama will NEVER win in GE. !00% guarantee. The tactics he is playing now is not going to work in Nov.
I think Hillary should hang in there until she passes out, but she’s to strong for that, people. I represent a sold out conservative American who continues to support Hillary at this point. However, I will vote Republician in the general election. If Hillary were to win the nomination and get elected President, I would be elated that it was not Obama.
Hillary has been sold out by much of the male population who moved over to Obama, that would have supported her. She should receive the nomination, she earned it. What are you guys thinking, by and by, pie in the sky?
If Obama receives it, and it looks great for him and you guys that support him; however, If he becomes our President, after about two years let’s see what shape we are in as individuals and as a country. Go ahead, put him in there.
Art
I would not vote for Obama for He has no experience period. I will vote for McCain in Nov…

The change that Barack Obama is talking about isn’t so much about policies (he and Hillary’s are very similar), but the *approach* to politics in Washington.
Hillary’s approach — “you’re either with me or your against me,” “my way or the highway” and her willingness to move goalposts until it fits her needs and use Rovian campaign tactics is the same approach that we have seen for the last 8 years.
It is sad to think that those Hillary’s supporters would not favor the kinder, more gentler approach that Barack Obama would take. He has a proven record for reconciling two opposing views and coming up with solutions that work for everyone. There would be no bipartisanship in Washington if Hillary was president and I think we as a nation could really use some of that right now. I don’t want a Fighter. I want a Leader.
MM
MontanaMama, you might want to go back and read what leading republicans were saying about Hillary. She was the one they went to when they needed bipartisanship, they even applauded her as being the one the Dems went to when they needed something accomplished.
Obama may talk a good game, but he has never walked a good walk.
He does however tend to use his swagger when he walks onto the stage now.

Did Indiana really put Hillary back on the map? The media says it is over. What is going on? More importantly, can Obama beat McCain?
Angst, allow me a little cynicism when Republicans are singing Hillary’s praises… Haven’t you heard of Operation Chaos?
Unfortunately Clinton is the only Democrat standing in the way of the elite far-lefts attempt to take full control of the Democratic Party. Read More about the New American Disenfrachisement.
How did Barack Obama become the front-runner? With little Washington experience, no foreign policy experiece, no record of ever crossing party lines either in Washington or in Illinois, and consistently trailing Clinton for 2 years prior to the first primary.
Want to know who is behind Obama’s sudden popularity?
You might be surprised!

When its over, its over….Hillary, its over…..Leave now while you can still hold your head up..The McAuliffe machine has failed and he is keeping you going so he can have a paycheck..Release him, concede and go on with your life…..Don in Chico
Gee we really need Hillary here stirring up the rednecks….I rode by our state capitol this morning and saw 4 middle aged white women waiving Hills banner….so sad.
I am sure McCain will appreciate Hillary’s supporters…God knows the Democrats do NOT need them.
Go on google.com and put in Obama and Donald Young.
Then go put in Larry Sinclair. Do you want this baggage
in the White House? Make your own decision since the media
won’t bring this out on the table. Why can’t Obama and his campaign
confront this? Very strange. I just don’t trust that side of the fence.
Does anyone know how Obama’s alleged non-support of the war in Iraq coincides with his trip to Palestine?

HOW STUPID THE DEMOCRAT’S ARE!!!!!!!
Is it something to do with the water in Arkansas? First it’s Mike Huckabee not knowing when to leave and now it’s Hillary Clinton??? Enough already. Surely Hillary has more dignity and grace than Bill had when they had to leave the White House under the impeachment proceedings. Time for the next generation of political leaders like Mr. Obama to have their day in the sun.
Wow! this forum is interesting. Learned a lot about OB and his past.
Inteligent people need to be informed before they vote.
HILLARY 08
God Bless America
God Bless Hillary
Hillary Clinton a fighter for the middle class and poor? Give me a break. She calls Obama an elitist
and portrays herself as one of the poor and middle class saviors. Only a Clinton can do that with a straight face in front of the camera. When is America going to wake up and finally realize the Clintons will say anything to maintain power. Hillary and Bill will take this nomination right to the convention. I keep waiting for the Clinton machine to drop a bombshell on Obama. You know they are digging and my thinking is they have something and are waiting to announce it before the last primary. Why else would she be sinking another 6 million dollars into the campaign. That is their style and if you listen to the media they keep saying she is staying in the race hoping that some bad news is going to come out against Obama. It is as if they are expecting it. They will tear the party apart to get this nomination and the presidency. As a republican and a Mccain supporter I feel the democrats are handing Mccain the presidency on a silver platter. I hope he doesn’t screw it up.
Don’t hate on Obama con-grad-u-late!
Hillary and only Hillary is responsible for her losing.
Five Mistakes HillaryClinton Made:
1. She misjudged the mood
2. She didn’t master the rules. Clinton picked people for her team primarily for their loyalty to her, instead of their mastery of the game.
3. She underestimated the caucus states
4. She relied on old money
5. She never counted on a long haul. Clinton’s strategy had been premised on delivering a knockout blow early

Jill Childers………. I live in Florida also and I agree that we had gone to vote under the directions of the election officials. It wasn’t our fault that someone screwed up now the public gets screwed. And it is funny how Oblama is quick to get free delegates that someone else won!! I know the Obamabots wil argue,” His name wasn’t on the Ballot”. BOO- HOO!! McCain in November! screw you D.N.C.!
i’m from florida and i am i registered republican but will vote for obama for sure i’m white and 65 and catholic he has my vote and he will win but if by some clinton dishosest move should by crooked chance win i will vote republican GO OBAMA
If Hillary can’t do the math in front of her, why would she make a good president. Oh, that’s right, because she grew up poor in the rich suburb of Chicago; because she can fix all the messes her husband made - NAFTA, lightening the mortgage standards and letting Bin Laden go.
Anyone make the connection that after the Battle of Antietam, Gen. Lee retreated to Shepherdstown, WV. Look what happened to him. History is repeating.
LadyC, I agree.
Montana Moma, are you excited about voting soon?
To everyone else who supports HRC, I think you forget that they are many women that are just as good or even better than HRC that could be considered as running mate. Obama could choose the well respected Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius, who has technically more experience than even HRC, and is well, very much the lady compared to HRC. Now, I am not saying she will be the VP, I am keeping an open mind. So, I suggest that HRC supporters should consider the same. Just a thought.
So let’s see what Clinton is claiming again — that “Obama’s support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me.”
Obama’s support among whites is actually increasing compared to Ohio, Mississippi and Pennsylvania. She lied about that.
Obama’s support among “hard working Americans”, which is code for poorer Americans, has also increased over those in previous contests, save for Mississippi, where the under-$50K vote was overwhelmingly black.
Obama’s numbers among college grads is static to increasing. We don’t have exit poll breakdowns for education by race, and we can assume North Carolina’s huge numbers with “no college” are due to the large African American percentages in the state. But what about Indiana, a state that is whiter (83.9%) than Pennsylvania (82.1%), Ohio (82.9%) and Texas (48.3%)? Despite the demographic disadvantage, Obama actually increased his support among voters with no college degrees.
So how can Clinton be so wrong? Because she’s citing an AP-Yahoo News poll from back on May 3rd. Rather than cite actual voter data, she is basing her claims on an old poll taken before the Indiana and North Carolina primaries.
Yup. That’s what Hillary Clinton has been reduced to. Ignoring actual votes and cherry picking polls.
Which really, shouldn’t surprise anyone. She’s already ignored and belittled every state and voter demographic that doesn’t support her. So it only follows that since in her world, the only things that are important are things that support her, she’d ignore election results in favor of the one (outdated) poll that confirms her manufactured reality.

I see that you can copy&paste, LadyC — very good. I saw the article you copied your post from, but didn’t give attribution to.

I once told my Sunday School class that if a relative of mine was a politician, I’d be ashamed to admit it. So far I haven’t seen much this year to change my mind - but I’m still hopeful. Thanks to the other folks for thought provoking comments.
Hillary’s supporters and McCain’s supporters let’s unite to bring Obama down.
HILLARY CLINTON CAN BEST WIN IN NOVEMBER:
It’s time for everyone to face the truth. Barack Obama has no real chance of winning the national election in November at this time. His crushing defeat in Pennsylvania, and loss in Indiana makes that fact crystal clear. His best, and only real chance of winning in November is on a ticket with Hillary Clinton as her VP.
Sen. Obama has zero chance of winning against the republican attack machine, and their unlimited money, and resources without Hillary Clinton. Zero chance.
It is absolutely essential that the democrats take back the Whitehouse in November. America, and the American people are in a very desperate condition now. And the whole World has been doing all that they can to help keep us propped up.
Hillary Clinton say’s that the heat, and decisions in the Whitehouse are much tougher than the ones on the campaign trail. But I think Sen. Obama faces a test of whether he has what it takes to be a commander and chief by facing the difficult facts, and the truth before him. And by doing what is best for the American people by dropping out of the race, and offering his whole hearted assistance to Hillary Clinton to help her take back the Whitehouse for the American people, and the World.
Sen. Obama is a great speaker. And I am confident he can explain to the American people the need, and wisdom of such a personal sacrifice for them. It should be clear to everyone by now that Hillary Clinton is fighting her heart out for the American people. She has known for a long time that Sen. Obama can not win this November. You have to remember that the Clinton’s have won the Whitehouse twice before. They know what it takes.
If Sen. Obama fails his test of commander and chief we can only hope that Hillary Clinton can continue her heroic fight for the American people. And that she prevails. She will need all the continual support and help we can give her. She may fight like a superhuman. But she is only human.
Don’t be fooled by the pledged delegate, and math arguments. Neither candidate has the necessary pledged delegates. The entire delegates counts, and votes from Florida, and Michigan are not even being counted. Plus the democratic caucuses, and primarys have been heavily corrupted by fraud, and vote cheating. The only relevant question now is who can best WIN IN NOVEMBER and take back the Whitehouse for the American people. And the answer is HILLARY CLINTON. Everyone knows that now.
Sincerely
Jacksmith… Working Class
p.s. I have been under heavy attacks for some time now. But it wont stop me.
