I believe that Obama is handling this ‘gas holiday’ better than Hillary is. He bases his statements on facts garnered from economists in the know, where Hillary is not giving any evidence that the gas savings will actually benefit the American people. This is only one of the points that bothers me (and possibly many others). Understanding how influential media is in presenting these points (not necessarily the facts)of each candidate, the employment of research into the accomplishments of each is necessary in order to make the right choice. Use of the internet for such research at best, results in a co-mingling of views. This again, results in separating ‘points’ from ‘facts’. However, the facts are there.

This Rev. Wright business is thrown out there to create confusion and in many cases explosive controversies. Any intelligent person will recognize the imbalance of this, particularly if they dig into the history of Hillary Clinton. A point of fact - In attacking Obama with the ‘guilt by association’ issue, an equally damaging association could be Hillary’s relationship with Jean Houston, founder of ‘Foundation of Mind Research, 1965; The Possible Society, 1984; The Mystery School’. I’m struggling like everyone else with the cost of gas. I wish people would really think about this gas tax holiday. It will cause the prices to go up. The demand will go up, so the oil companies will raise the prices And let’s not forget about the Highway Fund. It is estimated to take away 9 billion dollars for the fund. We already don’t have enough for our infrastructure as it is.

Besides people, how will she (or McCain for that matter) implement this? We have 3 weeks until Memorial Day. Has Congress EVER acted that fast. Remember, President Bush is the one who has to sign the legislation and the CURRENT congress has to write it and pass it first. She want’s windfall profit tax to pay for the loss of the highway fund (she’a already promised those taxes to some other programs). Does anybody really believe that Congress is going to pass anything right now for a tax increase?

This is pure political pandering (which ALL candidates do). But to give people a FALSE hope with 3 weeks until the proposed timeframe is not good.

There is NOTHING government can do to bring down the gas prices except open up more land for drilling so we can produce our OWN oil. Even that is going to take time.

Obama looks less presidential in the last couple of months, than he did previously.
He looks somewhat defeated, and the confidence he had, has gone. If the media did not
give hime a free ride by letting him say whatever he wanted without asking tough

As I explained earlier, the oil companies won’t lower the price of gas because Clinton wants to make them pay more taxes. They’ll pass this tax increase on to you, the consumer. This doesn’t work because it has been tried before and the oil companies did not lower the gas price.

Hillary knows this. She is counting on voters to believe that oil companies will actually lower prices even though she knows they won’t.

I am not from this country. I don’t have a vote. In India, we would love for Hillary Clinton to be elected, - she is the queen of outsourcing and a great friend of indian industry. But I personally admire Obama, he reminds me of Gandhi. I understand this is theme for Hillary campaign but we need to go beyond that gas tax relief and be aware of Obama Global Poverty Act which imposes 845 billion dollars from our weak economy to assist the third world countries under the form of welfare assistance. We do not live in a 1.6 million dollar home. Heck, some of us eat maccarony and hot dog for lunch while a wardlords having a t-bone steak in another continent. Hospitality should be at home first.

Why isn’t Fox taking a more in depth look at the Gas Tax Holiday? Yes, it is only band-aid on a huge problem. Yes, the average urban driver may only be saving about $30 a day. But what about rural driver? What about the people who might actually pull out the RV this summer?

More importantly–What a about the farming, logging, construction, and transportation industries? How many thousands could these employer’s save on this summer? Could we also see a drop in prices that are rising due to transportation costs? Could there be a drop in the cost to produce food?

Fox–dig deeper into this! You have the resources. Give people the complete picture of its effects.

I think if people start thinking past their own pocket book, many would realize that the Gas Tax Holiday could stimulate economic growth greater than they ever thought.

We are not elitist. However, we are smarter than you. Hillary’s gas tax plan won’t work. It is based on the assumption that the oil companies will lower the price of gas. Only the naive will believe that. John McCain believes in the plan but he admits that he does not understand economics. That must mean that Hillary doesn’t understand economics either.

I am not saying it because of her tax relief proposal I am saying it because she has been fighting for the American people for many years. It’s a shame that Obama is bashing her proposal because it will bring some relief to many American families that really need it. I think he is afraid that many Americans do like the idea and he didn’t think of it first. We all know that it is not a long term solution but it will help people now. Reporters on MSNBC are trying so hard today to discredit her proposal.They are so biased against her. It’s not fair the way the media has been an Obama pep squad. If you have a different view or outlook on Obama, your message pretty much isn’t posted. I have not decided to judge and hate Hillary on what her husband does or did. She’s been branded as a liar. That’s wrong. And that is what american’s have done. If that’s the case, then we all should be held responsible to some degree for what our own spouses have done or will do. American say’s that it is no reflection on Obama what his pastor Rev. Wright has said or done, but isn’t that a relationship. A 20 year relationship. You don’t stay anywhere for this length of time unless you agree with the views of an individual. I mean that’s what we seem to have judged Hillary for, staying with her husband after his shortcomings. Or only some should be held to a higher standard. Rev. Wright is a charasmatic, charming preacher who grabbed and keep the attention of his members, “whatever he preached, people wanted to hear, because they stayed there. I feel Obama has learned a lot of things from Rev. Wright, expecially telling people what he thinks they want to hear. How can you have “A New Politics, A New Washington” getting rid of the old politics? When you still have the old politicians running it. Many don’t want Hillary to win, because she won’t be pushed around and already know how they work in Washington. Obama is going to get a lot of advice and direction from these old politicians, because he’s new to the game. Four years from now, we’ll be looking at the same old politics as usual, if not worse. This is politics guys and these are politicians, if they aren’t the old washington, give it time, they will be. That’s just my opinion.

Senator Obama is just another politician looking for a promotion. That’s fine, ambition gets things done, but he’s not some messiah sent to set America upon a different path, because he’s getting to Washington using the same old path the other politicians took.

A lot of good men and women have gone to Washington, but Washington hasn’t sent very many back to us when it’s done with them.

Maybe you don’t understand what a Tax Holiday is or none has ever occurred in your area. The price of whatever you’re buying is reduced by the tax. They do them in many cities with school supplies and clothing. Is it pay me now or pay me later as the trucker stated, hell yes. Some where along the line the government will have to recoop the lost revenue.

Try taking your head out of Obama’s butt long enough for your brain to get a little air. Your only opposition to the tax holiday is that your guy didn’t propose it.
