I bet on Eight Belles, granted it was just a bet at the bar where we go to watch the race. I drove there in my 12 year old jeep and everyone brought a dish. How is horse racing elitist? Have you ever been to a track? The elitist ones are the tree huggers who say that horse racing is cruel, the ones who won’t wear leather, yet dress thier dogs up in clothes.

In reading all the comments you can see who has heart and whose heart is hardened. The only gray filly did her best and some of us try all our lives to win to only to come in second. She gave her life and that was all she had to give, that makes Eight Belles a true winner in my book. I thought it was sweet of Hillary to say she was for the only gray filly and I liked the hats Hillary and Chelsea wore. The race wasn’t about ELITIST or A RUDE SISSY FAIRY. The DERBY race was about 20 horses that worked hard and didn’t expect anything in return. One thing so nice about animals, they don’t have a rude mouth on them that reads something into everything that is said or done. Mr. Obama is a great speaker. And I am confident he can explain to the American people the need, and wisdom of such a personal sacrifice for them. what happened to Filly is exactly what is sure to take place soon. Not only will Hilly meet the tragic defeat but more so a shameful one. I hate to see an animal injured and have to be put down like that. What I always wonder at though is how people react to an animal with more sympathy than if it was a human being. I guess it’s just something in our genetic make up.
