Unfortunately, Obama’s policies and leanings are all socialist/liberal/democrat in nature. You’re asking for anyone not embracing those leanings to just go with him anyway? I don’t think so.

It does not matter if Obama wins the primary because the 527’s will destroy him in the general election. McCain will have no influence on these groups either, just as Obama will have no effect on the 527’s attacking McCain.
George Soros and moveon.org have already started attacking McCain on his 100-year war, which is nothing compared to the attacks that will be made against Obama. I almost feel sorry for Obama, but he brought this on by playing both sides and now it has backfired.
It will be interesting if rev Wright remains quiet, which I do not think he can and when he speaks again, it will decrease Obama’s chances more. Hillary probably wants Obama to loose so she can run again in 2012. She will probably do anything to keep Obama from being elected. From now, Obama is facing an up hill battle when just a few months ago, he was on top of the world.

A major theme of the books WAS race. he talked about how race affects people, how divisive and unnecessary racism is in this country.

I would ask you if you had read the book, but I know you haven’t. Most likely you found a website online that bashes the book, talks about how racist it is and how divisive he is.

I READ the entire book, as well as “The audacity of hope” and have come away from it thinking better of Obama than I ever have.

People I knew who dislike Obama quoted from the book to me before I read it, citing examples of racism and hatred, so I READ the book, and I can tell you the message of the book is UNITY, not division.

What she said was cleverly stated but deceptive. By allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire she and Obama (who will do the same thing) effectively raise taxes on the rich and the middle class and the poor as well. Then she will raise taxes on the rich giving them a double whammy. What she said, while technically true, is very misleading.

Senator Obama is at it again, taking credit for things someone else is doing and trying to craft an image of himself as an innovator and a leader. The only problem is that he is getting caught with his pants down making an ass of himself for all to see.

As almost everyone knows, Hillary crafted an Oregon Compact that specified how she would promote issues specific to Oregon to help the people of the state. And as usual Senator Obama was forced to come up with his own plan for Oregon. But he made just a slight mistake. A 1,700-mile mistake, you might say. Because in his CHANGE OREGON CAN BELIEVE IN plan he promised:

Barack Obama will reinvigorate the drinking water standards that have been weakened under the Bush administration and update them to address new threats. He will help communities by restoring better federal financing for water and wastewater treatment infrastructure, and he will continue his leadership in protecting national treasures like the Great Lakes from threats such as industrial pollution, water diversion, and invasive species. Obama will establish policies to help high-growth regions with the challenges of managing their water supplies.

Of course, this glaring mistake didn’t phase Senator Obama. I guess he figures that a bunch a hicks like us wouldn’t know that the Great Lakes are in the northern Midwest portion of our country, not in the Pacific Northwest. And when confronted by this obvious whopper, the elite Obama campaign answered in the manner that we have come to expect from them. They said something equally as stupid:

Obama spokesman Nick Shapiro said his campaign wasn’t trying to match Clinton’s Oregon compact. “The last thing Oregon needs is another plan,” he said, arguing that the important thing is that Obama would be more successful in breaking through Washington gridlock to get things done.

A snappy comeback don’t you think? But if what Shapiro said is true then WHY did Obama feel the need to produce a plan to begin with?

Why is it EVERY SINGLE economist who has commented on this gas tax holiday idea have called it absurd.

I am no economist, but it is simple common sense that if they raised the taxes on the Oil companies by 18 cents, they are going to pass the loss onto the consumer, raising the price of gas by 18 cents.

Not to mention that it will drive up the demand for gas and make the price of gas go up again.

SIMPLE.

That is why everyone who actually knows what they are talking about have called this gas tax holiday laughable.

Obama was in the church for more then twenty years but he never heard any of the BS, give me a break, we were not born yesterday. Everybody in Chicago knows where the church is and what it stands for. Rev. Wright has not changed his method of preaching or whatever you call it, but Obama and his bitter wife did not know that, HELLO!!

the. reverend wright story as the media like fox news can not stop talking about it only hurts obama because this man believe in judging a person on what he or she have done not what their friends, associates, counslors or what ever have done. again say this to all the negative, hate comments written about mr obama. he who have no sin let them cast the first stone remember that quote. i have read comments like racist, elitist, american hater, lier, stupid all this describing mr obama. do you think its ok to call anyone names just because you do not like them and you like the other canidates. i learn a lot from this election. we have a long way to go in this country. when all those in the catholic church was messing with those little boys did anyone leave the church because of that. it went on for a long time. i am glad i can think for myself and do not need the media or a canidate to make up my mind for me. i really hope we can get over the reverend wright thing and do not take down a person on what another person done or is saying just like we should not enjoy another person pain or sorrow. when we as american do thinks out of anger it will never last. i hope all american judge each canidate for themself not their spouse or people they socialize with. i know the clintons pardon a lot of criminal just befor they left office.

Rasmussen: 58% Say Obama Tossed Wright For Political Reasons

A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that just 30% of the nation’s Likely Voters believe Barack Obama denounced his former Pastor, Jeremiah Wright, because he was outraged. Most—58%–say he denounced the Pastor for political convenience. The survey was conducted on Wednesday and Thursday night. Obama made his statements about Wright on Tuesday.

Harmful, Divisive And Fallacious Petition From Color Of Change

Color of Change is circulating an outrageous, deplorable and fallacious petition:

Leaders of the Democratic Party are playing a dangerous game — risking the credibility of the party to hand Hillary Clinton the nomination against the will of voters. Heading down this path means disenfranchising millions of voters and legitimizing a campaign strategy that has displayed a clear pattern of race baiting and divisive politics.
If Hillary Clinton wins the popular vote and the Super Delegates hand the nomination to Barack Obama, the Democratic Party will have acted against the will of the voters. Despite that, I would whole heartedly support Barack Obama’s candidacy in November. In addition, Color of Change falsely smears the Clinton campaign while engaging in race baiting and divisive politics itself. Color of Change smears not only Hillary Clinton, but the millions of Democrats who support her.

As a Latino, I denounce and reject Color of Change’s petition. It is an outrageous, divisive, racially polarizing and deplorable act. At a time when all Democrats should be thinking about unifying the democratic Party behind our eventual nominee, who in all likelihood will be Barack Obama, Color of Change acts to exacerbate divisions. This petition hurts the Democratic Party and it hurts Barack Obama’s chances to win in November. Color of Change’s petititon should be rejected by Democrats of all stripes.

Why blue collar whites vote against themselves

Election pundits have repeatedly asked why Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., has trouble attracting blue collar whites, as if he created the problem and could solve it. Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., is seldom asked why Blacks don’t vote for her, a problem she could solve. But it is interesting why blue collar whites consistently vote against themselves, supporting Republicans who care little about their problems.

Part of the key lies in the fact that many such whites, (defined as those with no college and who make an average family income of under $50,000 per year) are like those in other classes who possess an attitude of racial supremacy. This has been important in maintaining a buffer between themselves and blacks, keeping them on lowest rung in the socio-economic ladder.

The South has played a major role in harboring negative racial attitudes toward Blacks which is why Obama has attracted such a small percentage of whites there, a surprise it seems to media commentators. But negative racial attitudes toward Blacks formed during slavery are still alive in the South and many of the sons and daughters of those who created this dynamic left the agricultural South and migrated North and helped to fertilize those areas.

Ronald Reagan was able to lead the movement of whites who resented the presumed advantages that came to many Blacks through the policy of Affirmative Action and others who resentment their children being educated in an integrated setting with Black children. As the Civil Rights movement pushed for racial equality, working class whites and others pushed back in the 1980s and 1990s to maintain the whiteness of their neighborhood institutions as much as possible, along with their dominance over economic opportunity.

Globalization and technological change, however, began to shrink the number of industrial jobs, touching off a fight for the crumbs left by corporations who fled the country. Industrial jobs have remained stable at about 30 million, but they have been redistributed overseas, and to Southern and Western regions of the United States.

And as the Black middle class grew, it challenged white lower middle class hegemony over many white collar jobs. So, the tension created by job competition led to Blacks being blamed for white economic immobility in some places. A deeper understanding of this issue requires reading such texts as, The Possessiveness Investment In Whiteness, by George Lipsitz, who describes the tangible financial and psychological rewards that whites get by their investment in white identity.

And if whiteness yields fewer hard economic returns, then the psychology of white supremacy may grow as a resource to hold on to. The reason why blue collar whites have trouble voting for Black candidates then, is that it would be a tangible concession that Blacks are not the cause of their condition, an admission that Blacks have an equal right to access social goods and most important, that they have as much right to posit the esteem of their own humanity as others do.

In the final analysis we do not know how many in the blue collar class we are talking about here, so their number, and therefore, their political importance may be over-estimated by those who worry about this problem.

Obviously, their number cannot be as decisive as believed or Obama would not have won as many whites votes as he has to the extent that he is now leading in the popular vote. In any case, the political coalition that Obama has created, which includes middle and upper class whites, youth, political independents, some Republicans and new voters, may be so potent that it reorganizes the Democratic party.

Blue collar whites, a dwindling population, may only have a marginal effect on that political outcome– which looks like the future of the Democratic party. Yet, blue collar whites need to vote for a people politics that will deliver material goods now, not a party that opposes the minimum wage, school funding, job training and creation, and saving their houses– a politics of the past that bought their vote with the promise of psychological racial supremacy, but kept them at the margins of society.

He’s an extremist and it is a standard tactic to argue politics and point to a religious text (which has usually been manipulated) in order to support it. People who are religious are influenced by their religion and by those who preach it. To suggest otherwise is dangerously foolish. If you think Wright is not pounding a political point and has not made that part of his church’s THEOLOGY you are completely out of tough with reality.
