Juan "Coco Solo" McCain was not born on US soil. He was born on a military base in Panama.

The US State Dept, which issues passports, etc. currently says: "Despite widespread popular belief, U.S. military installations abroad and U.S. diplomatic or consular facilities are not part of the United States within the meaning of the 14th Amendment. A child born on the premises of such a facility is not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States and does not acquire U.S. citizenship by reason of birth."

Why chance a vote for Panama John? Maybe someday he can run for Noriega's old position in Panama: El Presidente!

I see a lot of libs are all this and repubs are all that. As a thinking person of center politics it is all rediculous sounding. Im sure history will prove that G.W.B. is one of the most incompetent presidents in history.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

McMadness, how many Presidents have you voted for or against? How do qualified your statement? Did you pick it up from some liberal blog? Do you have some type of historical perspective? During Reagan's term, he was hated by the media and many people. Do you remember Carter? How well did he do? Johnson, another Democrat, was run out of office because of the Vietnam War. Do you remember that? How about Nixon. If you are a "thinking person of center politics" you would have put some thought into your statement. Please, next time you make this kind of statement, go to the public library and do some research into the lives and times of our Presidents instead of regurgitating silly little lines from some internet blog. Please be original with your statements.

John, what are you doing? You are starting to lose the general election in May. I am a Bush Republican, and don't really give a hoot what people think. Why are you acting like a Democrat, bagging on Bush. Why don't you attack on your opponent, B.O. instead of trying out some P.C. crap while attacking our Republican President. Wonder if you are starting to pander to certain groups? Will you become the Al Gore of the Republican Party, wimpy and effete.

You want to save some money and not have to raise taxes?
You think the war in iraq is our biggest expense?
As you may know, Iraq is now pumping oil regularly.
They have a surplus and a steady income.
Our job has been to get rid of Saddam and help implement a Democratic government.
The country is still not able to sustain it’s own security. We are footing the bill.
The Dems want out. The Repubs want to finish the job.
I say we make the Iraqi government start paying the coalition to stay until their government is reconciled and they can take care of their own safety.
Let them start footing the bill.
Then you will see progress and our troops will get home a heck of a lot sooner !
Plus we don’t cover the bill anymore! That saves us the trillions!

The welfare queen stereotype (1976- ) is one of the pictures that white Americans have in their heads about black women. It sees them as living comfortably on welfare (the dole) bringing up a big family without a husband, with children from different fathers. It views black women as unwilling to work, unwilling to control their (apparently considerable) sex drive and unwilling to better themselves.

It is the stereotype that Shirley Q. Liquor plays for laughs.

Changes in the law in the 1990s outlawed welfare queens. You can no longer be on welfare forever. But even when the law allowed it, most welfare queens - women living on welfare as a way of life - were not black but white!

Most people on welfare are not black and about half of all blacks are middle class.

You would never know these things from the stereotype. That shows you how far from the truth it is.

But a stereotype is not so much based on hard-headed facts as on what it is convenient for the stereotyper to believe. Here the welfare queen shines:

She supports white ideas of blacks as poor, oversexed and not particularly bright.
She takes the blame for the troubles that poor blacks have. That points the blame away from whites, allowing them - and the country at large - to wash their hands of black poverty.
She does not have a bad life: she gets paid for doing nothing!
She gives the Republican party an excuse to cut public spending on the poor, therefore cutting taxes for the rich.
Like any good racist stereotype it is at once racist and yet hides racism!

You would not believe it now, but back in the 1960s the poor were were pictured as being mainly white - as they in fact are! It was only in the 1970s that “black” and “poor” came to mean almost the same thing. As if there were barely any poor whites or well-to-do blacks.

The true face of welfare is not some 19-year-old black woman with three children and one on the way, but a white woman in her 20s with one child.

The term “welfare queen” comes from Ronald Reagan when he ran for president in 1976. He told the story of a black woman who made $150,000 from gaming welfare. She drove a Cadillac, he informed us.

The press tried to find this woman. They wanted to put her on the evening news. They never found her. Reagan had made it up. Yet the idea stuck - because it is a convenient lie for well-to-do whites to believe.

The bit of the stereotype that does have some truth to it, sad to say, is the number of black women who are bringing up children without a husband. In 1994 about half of all households with black children had no father at home. Compare that to one in five for white children - which is how it was for black children once upon a time back in 1960. But that is another story.

McMadness, I do not agree that "history will prove that G.W.B. is one of the most incompetent presidents in history". In fact, I believe the opposite that Bush will be one of the most competent presidents in history. I do agree with you on McCain being the best qualified to lead after Bush. You forget congressional democrats would not vote up or down when the republicans had control and now that the democrats have control it is even worse for Bush. The democrats do not want to continue to fund our troops. The democrats and all of Bush's critics want the US to lose in Iraq just to humiliate Bush, which means their egos are more important than keeping America safe. They will not approve the monitoring of phone calls made to terrorists. They are endangering America.

Im sure history will prove that G.W.B. is one of the most incompetent presidents in history. I also think that a John McCain presidency is the only way forward for this country in a world of growing foreign powers. John McCain can bring competency, respect and honor back to the White House. Let us all pray for him to win in November.

As someone who’s never voted for a Democrat, I do admit I have a very strong bias against the Democratic Party and it’s platform. Since I’m “on the outside looking in” I’m really amazed at the comments regarding Obamas far left leanings and his ties to friends and organizations that are outright Anti-American and dangerous to this country. The reason for my amazement is that people within the Dem. party couldn’t see this coming. Just look at the DEM members in the House & Senate, and they’re overwhelming support for Obama. Remember people, I didn’t vote THEM in, you did.
==============================================================
As a former Dem insider and someone with contacts in the Dem Party, I can tell you nothing surprises me. Ever since the Great Society programs and the Vietnam War, the Dems have become more and more far Left. All politicians are out of touch but the Dems are particulary hypocritical. Like the academics and the media, they claim to care about the people but they look down on whom they perceive as the unwashed masses and think only they know what’s best for us. Yes, they are eltitists, and until these idiots from the 60s retire we are stuck with their ridiculous beliefs. And even worse, they are teaching our children and grooming people like Obama to perpetuate their nanny state elitist iideas. I honestly believe the Democratic leaders agree with Ayers and Reverend Wright.

If anyone doesn’t believe me, just look at what any Dem controlled Congress has accomplished over the years.,..other than naming post offices and pork barrel projects. Are Repubs any better? Not really, but at least they don’t pretend to be anything but what they really are.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

A great example is the missed opportunity of the current Democrat Congress, which now has the lowest ratings of any house since ratings have been recorded. All Pelosi, Murtha and Reid seem to want to do is look for dirt and prosecute Bush Administration officials. They can't seem to understand, they are legislators and the country needs them to act responsibly with our laws and taxes. Yet, they're bent on a Bush witchhunt above all else.

The country asked for moderates when they won the house in the last mid-term election...the country got left wing fanatics instead (and they couldn't see it coming when Pelosiwas being touted as speaker?). Pelosi goes to Syria, smiles at Assad..and achieves nothing. She goes to Tibet and holds hands with the Dalai Lama, while Bush is screaming for funding for the war effort. Murtha is denegrating our troops and Reid keeps trying to witchhunt republicans and undermine the war effort. Then you've got Hillary Clinton and her Woodstock Museum (what would it display? muddy sandals, guitar strings, LSD and stoned hippies?). This pattern of behaviour fits perfectly into the mindset you outlined Old Dem.
