You think the war in iraq is our biggest expense? As you may know, Iraq is now pumping oil regularly. They have a surplus of oil revenue and a steady income. Our job has been to get rid of Saddam and help implement a Democratic government. The country is still not able to sustain it’s own security. We are footing the bill. The Dems want out. The Repubs want to finish the job. I say we make the Iraqi government start paying the coalition to stay until their government is reconciled and they can take care of their own safety. Let them start footing the bill. I think that is the right thing to do for American taxpayers. It shuts up the critics too! Then you will see a quick progress and our troops will get home a heck of a lot sooner ! Plus we don’t cover the bill anymore! That saves us the trillions! As far as the highway fund is concerned, neither Hillary or McCain are going to take from that source. McCain is taking the money out of general funds to replace it, and Hillary is going with a windfall tax. The highway money is safe. Obama said today it would only amount to a 30 cents a day savings. That is assuming you only burn a little over a gallon a day. That`s not a very realistic figure.
