Fred returns to the campaign trail

Former GOP presidential candidate and close McCain friend, Fred Thompson, is set to join the presumptive GOP nominee during his visit to North Carolina next week. Since losing the South Carolina primary on Jan. 18, Thompson has been absent from the limelight-even choosing to drop out of the race via written statement.

McCain is set to make a timely visit to the Tar Heel State,  where primary voters go to the polls on Tuesday, and hopes to scoop up some media coverage. He is set to hit Charlotte on Monday and deliver a speech at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem the next day.

In recent weeks, McCain has campaigned with both Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee. While there was a lot of VP buzz when the AZ Senator was joined by Romney and Huckabee, expect a lot less around Fred—the former TN Senator even told Fox News last week that a number 2 slot is “not in the cards.”

McCain is also set to attend a big $$ NYC fundraiser in New York City next Wednesday where yet another former rival–Rudy Giuliani–will be in attendance.

Dennis Haskert is trying to “fix” the Rezko trial!
Wright on the front page relegated this story somewhere in the middle pages.
Coincidence?

I heard Fred Thompson say he is not interested in the VP slot, however he will do all he can to help McCain.
The unity in the Republican party is a breath of fresh air, in comparison to the train wreck the Dems are running.

Obama has had plenty of opportunities, during this race, AND during the past 20 years, to do what he did on April 29, but Rev. Wright had never put Obama down before. That made him willing to turn against the pastor, who — a few weeks ago Obama said that he could never turn from. Obama will say anything to get what he wants.

Because he has now disrespected Obama, Obama is now willing to confront Wright’s horrible remarks — one by one. HE SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS AT LEAST A YEAR AGO! TOO LITTLE — TOO LATE.

Obama listened to and approved of Wright for 20 years. It’s impossible to believe that he never heard Wright’s radical rants. Obama is not that stupid. This is the very philosophy of the church that he has attended for years. If he has that much “blindness” on something as important as foundational philosophical beliefs of his own church, why would he think he could deal with crafty foreign leaders and run our country?

If you listen to Michelle Obama, it certainly sounds like she has heard and believed the teachings against America, that have been preached by her pastor. Don’t forget Obama’s ties to Ayers, Rezko, Farrakhan, Malcolm X, the Black Panthers, and many other anti-Americans and terrorists.

May God help us to have the grace and love to do what s right for our country — no matter what our skin color. Race is a factor — we are all members of the Human Race!

Hillary or McCain!

Carolina.
Obama defended Wright. The black community did also.
Now Obama disowns Wright.
Do you think the blacks feel like Obama sold them out?
I wonder if they will choose Obama or Wright.
It was ok when they had both Obama and his beloved pastor.
Now the Obama camp has parted ways with Wright, at least publicly.
I am interested to see what the black community’s response will be.

It looks like the Dems are splitting.
Pelosi, Kerry, Carter and Dean on one side. They seem to be starting their own government.
Carter, Pelosi and Kerry all took it upon themselves to conduct foreign policy without the permission of our “sitting” leaders.
Dean has all but disowned the Clinton half the party.
Now Haskert is “fixing” the Rezko trial. He is firing the prosecutor in the trial and naming his own.
Wright being on the front pages is a good way to quietly make the Rezko issue go away for Obama’s sake.

The Wright issue is a character issue and manageable.
The Rezko trial is criminal. Unmanageable, unless it magically goes away.
Haskert is making it “magically go away!
Please pass on the link.
It is a bait and switch. It’s blatant and corrupt.

The media loves to talk about the huge split in the Republican party but Thompson, Huckabee and Romney have all been stumping for McCain. If their support isn’t a show of unity from conservatives then I ask, what would it take to make a stronger point that conservative icons openly support McCain? Giuliani has nothing but nice things to say about McCain even though McCain stole the nomination we all though was Giuliani’s to lose.. Even Bush, who is more often than not at odds with McCain, has endorsed him. Things are falling into place for John while the Democrats fight a bitter battle over which candidate will make the least offensive nominee.

I’ve said all along: The Democratic candidates are ridiculously weak. Neither has significant relevant experience, a record free of corruption or an ideology that would appeal to anyone other than liberals, Blacks and cowed union members. If ANY of the Democrats had the credentials and the national appeal of Romney, Huckabee, McCain, Giuliani or Thompson they would easily take the oval office this fall. Fortunately, all they can seem to field are underexperienced, elitist radicals that thoughtful people have already turned their backs on.

Comment by Take action against high fuel prices now

Obama, Clinton, and McCain are getting alot of questions about high gasoline prices.

TV news people are talking about possible $4/gallon gas this summer.

Environmental extremism has alot to do with these high prices.

Global Warming is a hoax and a false religion the roots of which come from some liberal political groups

hatred of capitalism and freedom and modern life as we know it for polluting the world and the

atmosphere and a false belief that this is causing worldwide climate change.

Most rational minded scholars, scientists and meteorologists do not share this radical politically motivated

view of climate change and make a convincing scientific argument against it.

Lawsuits filed by so-called environmentalists against every effort by energy providers to bring

fuel to market have driven up consumer prices to record levels and will go even higher.

Please understand that you can combat this trend by becoming educated on this subject and demand

that politicians denounce Global Warming and put a stop to dangerous environmental extremism

and environmental lawsuits against energy providers. Do a Google search on Global Warming Debunked

to get started. Write letters to your school board and let them know you don’t want your children

indoctrinated with only one side of the global warming debate. Democrats attack energy providers

for making a profit instead of admitting their own extreme and false environmental ideology is

the true cause of todays high costs of doing business. Democrats are against oil, natural gas,

coal, and nuclear energy development in our own country. Make no mistake about it, Democrats

are enemies of energy producers and the buck stops at their desks for our current economic situation.

Please keep this and the price of your fuel in mind when voting this November.

Both Huckabee and Thompson would be good running mates for McCain and I would vote for that ticket. Romney and Giuliani not so, they both have very liberal records on social issues - abortion and gay marriage. In fact Romney was listed by Human Events as the 7th most liberal elected Republican in the Country in 2005. As my brother use to say - look at their records rather than listen to their words.

Hahahahahaha, I was just thinking, some bloggers are really mean. I read somewhere were they said: Macain is George bush’s Poodle.

I blieve if Hillary its not the President, America will be ok with Macain, a war hero. I don’t believe He will keep the war going for 100 yrs, neither I believe Obama or Hillary will be able to bring the troops the first year or second, without causing a terrible GENOCIDE.

Simple way to lower gas prices. Boycott Exon/Chevron. Buy gas from anyone else. If everyone did this, You will see a drop in prices real quick.GUARANTEED!!!!!!

Comment by angry white person

people should boycot the gas pumps for 2 weeks that is enough time for the gas to run out of the vehicles and then you will see the price come down 1 or 2 days is not enough time to hurt them

Comment by If Bad is Good, Wrong is Wright

Hillary will do what it takes to restore order in the Democrat Party and in this country.

These Obama people will learn to celebrate their rightful place in the Democrat Party and America.

Hillary will not tolerate their bad attitudes or disrespect for her and her people in the party.

Things will begin to CHANGE back to the way they were with Hillary in charge!

Good will be Good again and people like Wright will always be Wrong.

There will be no Obama-nation abomination under Hillary’s domination.

Comment by Jack Paddock

To: Angry white person. Impossible to boycott all gas pumps. Gas is an absolute necessity to most people. Boycott only EXON/CHEVRON. IF THEY ARE NOT SELLING GAS, THEY WILL REDUCE PRICES IN A HURRY. TRUST ME.

Comment by Jack Paddock

PS: I am not talking about 2 days or 2 weeks. I am talking about until they are forced to lower prices. However long it takes. They are the largest oil Co. and they cannot exist without selling gas.

Comment by RC MO.

Jack Paddock, 85%, of their profit is paid out in dividends to stock holders. Most 401K plans have oil company stocks attached. Do you really want this many people to lose money? Perhaps Exxon Mobile could just go out of business, then all of the success envy would go away. Oil companies do not set gas prices. The president does not set gas prices. The oil company gets 8 cents a gallon, and the Government gets 18 cents a gallon. How much do you think the oil company should get. If you boycott, what are they supposed to do? Give it to you. You need to learn how business works.

Comment by Mary in LA

A boycott won’t hurt the gas companies at all. You’ll still have to drive to work, etc., so you’ll just fill up your tank eventually. A little 2-week dip in sales will be balanced out by a corresponding bump right afterwards, and the quarterly bottom line will show no net effect.

However, gas station owners and franchisees — in other words, small businessmen — are being hurt badly right now by the high price of gas, which has cut into their sales. I don’t see how a boycott will help them at all.

If Fred wants to help John McCain he should leave the campaigning in the south to McCain and Huckabee. People in NC were counting on seeing McCain with Huckabee there and will be deeply disappointed that he is not coming. We need to rally excitement in the Republican Party and, no offense to Fred, but he is not the “energizer bunny”. I am really wanting to see McCain and Huckabee campaigning together and would gladly drive from SC. Oh, well maybe later….

Comment by Richard H. Smith

I find it rather ironic that the “Party of Racial and Gender Empowerment” is in such a battle over who is the least offensive in their own party. That being said, McCain, in my opinion, isn’t a 2 term President-his VP will be. I truly hope that McCain can convince Condoleeza Rice to run as his VP.
