In Indiana, Hillary Attacks On the Airwaves

A new Clinton campaign ad in Indiana is accusing Barack Obama of refusing to help hard working families in Indiana by saying “no” to a federal gas tax holiday.

“When the housing crisis broke, Hillary Clinton called for action: a freeze on foreclosures. Barack Obama said, no,” says the narrator in Clinton’s new :30 spot, called “Trouble.”

“Now, gas prices are skyrocketing, and she’s ready to act again. Hillary’s plan: Use the windfall profits of the oil companies to pay to suspend the gas tax this summer. Barack Obama says no, again”

“People are hurting. It’s time for a president who’s ready to take action now.”

The Obama campaign calls the spot “a misleading attack ad that’s emblematic of why Washington has failed to make progress on the tough issues that face Indiana families.”

“Tens of millions without health care, families losing their homes, an economy in crisis and sky-high gas prices,” writes spokesman Hari Sevugan. “What’s the Clinton campaign’s response? More Washington-style attack ads.

Obama tries to have it both ways on everything!

Senator Obama is a train wreck, a tornado, earthquake and a hurricane all rolled up into one “typical” politician.

One simply does not know what he is or what he believes in. He keeps trying to change his colors in order to win. It looks like Obama’s chickens “are coming home to roost”.

Don’t forget — we have 50 states — not 48!

GO, SENATOR CLINTON!

Comment by Mr. J

The young man is getting rattled but he is not out yet. It’s up to the last primaries to get it right. Do all you can to get out the vote for Hillary. It time for the tide to turn. Lets make sure we ride the surf all the way to the convention.

Obama must think that the American people are stupid. Does

he really think that we believe what he says about Wright?

Obama, You were there for 20 years, you knew what Wright was. You and your

angry, anti-american wife Michelle, believe just like Rev. Wright.

The only reason you denounced him today was beacuse of the polls.

obama is seeing the nommination slipping away, and now he is outraged? It took him 20 years!

Comment by Patricia

Don’t know if last comment got posted.

I definitely do not want to revisit the Cllinton years. I remember that the budgtet was in bad shape, but the economy was starting to pick up at the end of the Bush41 Presidency already. Then the Cllintons worked hard to put NAFTA in and I remember what happened then - but many must have forgotten. President Bush didn’t reverse any of that so we still have the problems of outsourcing and it is getting worse.

Comment by BRUCE

A great leader with conscience and courage would have stood up and faced down anyone who engages in the conduct of Rev. Wright. I expect a president of the United States to have the strength of character to denounce and disown enemies of America — foreign and domestic — and yes, even his friends and confidants when they get seriously out of line. Obama didn’t do any of these things. His recent condemnations of Wright’s hate-filled speech are, in my opinion, a case of too little, too late. In today’s vernacular, he threw Rev. Wright under the wheels of the bus to keep his presidential campaign rolling. For shame. VOTE FOR A REAL LEADER AND FIGHTER…
VOTE HILLARY ‘08

Comment by Patricia

I wish the candidates would not attack each other with their ads. I wish they would just advocate their own policies.

Obama spoke a bit ago about Wright. That should be over, unless Wright keeps on including Obama in his speeches and Obama has no control over that. But I think people are smart enough to see through that. Obama has been more vetted in 6 weeks than most politicians are vetted in 6+ years.

I think he has the CALM RESERVE THAT IS REQUIRED UNDER PRESSURE AND WOULD MAKE A GREAT PRESIDENT!

Comment by BRUCE

Patricia,
I hate to deliver the bad news, but America getting ready to revisit the peaceful and posporous Cllinton years.

Comment by An American in Canada

Very Good Ad, HILLARY could have also said

I want all Americans to have health care, Obama said NO

And Listen-Up Obama, no one believes that act between you and your beloved pastor…

It was all a setup and so dam obvious that it is insulting again…
Good politican Bad preacher routine. LOL

In six months, Obama will say that he has forgiven Rev. Wright, because after all they are Christians and that is the Christian way……….OBAMA/WRIGHT; Two great deceivers

Comment by BRUCE

obama has the CALM RESERVE THAT IS REQUIRED TO BE A CON MAN. Rev. Wright and obama are trying to con Americans. America is not buying it!

Comment by BRUCE

the peaceful and prosporous Cllinton years.

Comment by Patricia

This pastor should never have been an issue. People don’t identify me by the church I go to. They identify me by the way I raise my kids, by the things I do for others, by the work I do, by my kindness to them, etc.

Having been a high school principal, I know how cruel kids can be to each other. Whites call other Whites “n…r”, and Native Americans or Hispanics are treated like they should never have moved into OUR community. It is difficult to create a culture of change because you are working with perceptions.

What is unfortuante in this campaign, because it has gone on so long, is that who the candidates associate with has become more important than the kind of president they would be. But even that scrutiny isn’t fair - the Clinton’s have more vetting coming their way as well; it just hasn’t hit the news yet.

Comment by BRUCE

Rev. Wright comming out now, and obama disowning him is a farse! Why now? Because, Hillary’s chances of beating obama in NC with its large black population is very slim. Rev. Wright’s speech was a entertaining sham for obama to unload the onething that is percieved to be hurting his nommination chances!

Comment by BRUCE

Patricia,
You are living in a fantasy world. We are all judged every single day by the company we keep. obama has shown bad judgement by his choice of friends and mentors. obama friends are left wing radicals!

People, people, people. I see why we are a nation divided. Don’t fall for all the cookie crumbs that these candidates’ cronies are leaving behind for you to ingest. The Clintons are very deceptive. Don’t fall for the okey-doke. She is not her husband. If you are perceptive, you would have noticed (due to recent events), that Bill is not the man WE thought he was. They are the elitists! Do your own homework. We can’t afford to allow ourselves to be fooled once again (as with the current admin.).

Comment by BRUCE

Lord Sincere ,
“Sincere”? obama is anything but! the okey-doke is obama disowning Rev. Wright. Do your own homework, obama is the elitists!

Comment by BRUCE

Elitism has nothing to do with how poor you were when you were born. It doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with how much money you have.
Elitism is defined as:
A select group of people with outstanding personal abilities, intellect, wealth, specialized training or experience, or other distinctive attributes.
The belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources.
a. The sense of entitlement enjoyed by such a group or class.
b. Control, rule, or domination by such a group or class.

Comment by BRUCE

To the obama supporters: As of APRIL.
If you calculate the distribution of Electoral votes needed to become president during a general election (using the states that Hillary and obama won to date). You get:
Hillary: 236 + (Florida 27 and Michigan 17) = 280 obama: 202

As you see, Hillary has the 270 (actually 280) out of 538 needed to become president in the general election. Mr. obama is winning a lot of states with 4 or less Electoral votes and he has not won “any” of the states the Democrats need to win in November! If he can not win them now, how can he win them in November with obama getting around 30% of the white vote? Can you say Superdelegates! They should and must select the candidate with the best chance of winning in November or the democrats need to get use to saying, President McCain!

Comment by BRUCE

Lord Sincere,
“We can’t afford to allow ourselves to be fooled once again (as with the current admin.)”.
_____________________________________________________
I agree we can’t afford to allow ourselves to be fooled! but remember, Al Gore was the known entity in 2000 and G. W. Bush was the unknown. So according to you we should not be fooled by obama, the unknown?

Comment by Lord Sincere

Bruce, I support either of the candidates at this point. I have not yet to hold an opinion on the real issues because I have not heard them. The only thing I’m concerned with, is the fact that these side show issues have nothing at all to do with the REAL issues at hand. On the term “elitist”, I feel that based on the definition and the way it was applied by Hillary to Obama, she is more of an elitist. This based on HER affiliations and her past history. I want to vote for the best candidate for the job. A candidate that will not only be effective in this country, but respected and effective outside of this country.

Comment by Lord Sincere

I knew we were in trouble when Bush was elected in 2000. When he was re-elected, I knew things would be worst. (Not this bad though) They used the fear of terrorism to scare voters to vote for him. I hate to go too far back, but remember after 911 no one dare spoke against his plans of war. Doing so would have meant being labeled unpatriotic. No one on either spoke against him for this fear of being labeled such. I remember sitting there watching Colin Powell illustrate how Saddam
had mobile “weapons of mass destruction” launchers. I sat there saying something doesn’t smell right here. Now, I not a part of the intelligence committee in our military, but I knew something didnt seem right.

The 2008 Clinton vs. Obama Presidential Race Legacy:

“Back to back they faced each other,
Drew their swords and shot each other…”

Comment by Delmont Olds

OBAMA VS. CLINTON = “Thing One” vs. “Thing Two” scrapping over letting everyone know the other will cause the most damage.

In each of their own minds, that anyone else besides the other will cause even greater damage than both of them together is for now a given to be dealt with later.

Comment by Delmont Olds

The most notable capacity for CHANGE evidenced so far from OBAMA VS. CLINTON is that when they are done soiling themselves with their vindictiveness towards one another, the survivor’s efforts will merely come off as a fang-and-claw sharpening exercise that will CHANGE into transferred animosity — behind a smiley-face — re-directed at the Republicans.

Comment by BRUCE

Lord Sincere,
“REAL issues at hand”
_________________________________________________
When people say real issues, I get an empty feeling in my gut. Issues like gas prices, taxes, job loss, or home foreclosures? All things which the president has NO control over. What about the war in Iraq? If you really think that Hillary or obama will pull the troops out right away or that McCain will keep us there for 100 years; then you are a sucker! To me character and judgement are real issues. Because these are indicators of how a person will react to unforseen problems for our nation.

Comment by BRUCE

Delmont Olds,
as long as one of them beats insane McCain!

Comment by BRUCE

The side shows are because obama is an unknown, and people want to know more about him! A-la Rev. Wright.

I’ve seen it now. It’s true. The uneducated really do support Hillary.

Go do the math. She can win every state from now to the end by 20% margin, and win 55% of the remaining superdelegates, and STILL LOSE. If Obama wins NC by 10% and OR by 10%, he needs only 1/3 of the superdelegates (about 100 or so) to win.

If Obama loses to McCain, it won’t matter to me. He’ll have done a great service by keeping Hillary from anywhere near the Oval Office.

Where does he stand on the issue. All his suggestions are let’s not do anything until I become president. Why not combine short term fixes now with long term fixes if he becomes president. I think he is afraid some of these plans may work and the economy gets better before election so he won’t stand a chnce of winning.

This is all utter distractions from fools who have nothing to offer but negative ads and stupid criticisms. This is a political election and not a church or spiritual election. Hillary and Bill have nothing to offer to this dynamic generation and so they are all out to destroy, divide and run eventually. We talk of peace and she is on obliterating a nation! That’s evil on her part! I will not be surprised to see and hear about terror attacks on us sooner or later because of her threat over a nation! SHAME ON HER AND HER SUPPORTERS. MY SUPPORT GOES TO OBAMA FROM NOW ONWARDS
