Jim, Jim, Jim. Where are you getting your information regarding health care from these countries? The United States spends far more on health care than other countries that have national health insurance, and I have yet to see any real evidence that shows lower quality in other countries.

In fact, Canada, the UK, and other European countries have higher life expectancies than the United States, while spending far less to cover the health care needs of all their citizens. I think there are drawbacks to a national health insurance scheme, but I wonder if those weaknesses would be better than what we have right now in the United States.

Well one thing is for sure. If we are going to take care of everyone we will be creating thousands of jobs in the medical profession. Then you go on Medicare and the premiums go up every year and they “take” it out of your SS check. So, your s.s. raise is eaten up by the medicare raise. Mean time your property taxes are going up to pay for your schools and other City, County, State employees wages and perks and services.
So, if your looking for a job go find a civil service one or any gov. employer.

Universal health care is BS. You are not going to get the same coverage as Hillary Clinton. You are going to get the same coverage as a welfare mom at a free clinic. I pay NOTHING for my health insurance coverage. I’ve worked my way up and it took 30 years to get to this level. I’ll be d**ned if I’m going to give THAT up to pay into a crummy plan because people decide a computer, wide screen TV, cell phones, a house 3 times bigger than mine, and two cars are MORE important than providing health care for their families.

So they can make a new system and monitor all 500 billion of us!! And I am also really tired of the democrats crying for the poor to have health insurance. In Arizona, the poor have the best medical coverage (medicaid). They go to the hosptal for everything. They have a cold - they go to the ER. They have a headache - they go to the ER. No co-pay and no deductible! What a waste of taxpayer money!! Where is all of this money for health care supposed to come from. I am so tired of paying more taxes just because I work. Because I find that very hard to believe…

i have co-workers who worked for 25 + years, old enough to retire but afraid to because they can’t afford the health insurance once they leave the workplace. nobody can really completely retire especially if you’re middle class. the system is just not clear or stable. it’s crazy. they are afraid that the rule of the game will change because a lot of group of workers are competing for funds. it’s too complex and we need somebody who is involved and has in-depth knowledge of health care issues to make sense of this and to make sensible changes. everybody must have some form of health insurance. it’s delusional to think that those who have insurance are not paying for those who do not. they get charge more in underhanded way. private and gov’t. health insurance must work very hard to prevent mismanagement of funds and other wastage. something has to be done. it’s humiliating not too have insurance. i feel bad for those people who do not have insurance. they seem to be treated like criminals—i have to look away and pretend not to hear anything when they are being ask about payment etc. some waiting rooms are not big. insurance card has become a status symbol. it must not be this way. to those who are contemptuos of those who do not have the means, be mindful , because with the economy tanking and other mishaps, you might be in their shoes too. everybody must be treated with dignity—let those who can pay, pay what they can.

Because he has now disrespected Obama, Obama is now willing to confront Wright’s horrible remarks — one by one. HE SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS AT LEAST A YEAR AGO! TOO LITTLE — TOO LATE.

Obama listened to and approved of Wright for 20 years. It’s impossible to believe that he never heard Wright’s radical rants. Obama is not that stupid. This is the very philosophy of the church that he has attended for years. If he has that much “blindness” on something as important as foundational philosophical beliefs of his own church, why would he think he could deal with crafty foreign leaders and run our country?

If you listen to Michelle Obama, it certainly sounds like she has heard and believed the teachings against America, that have been preached by her pastor. Don’t forget Obama’s ties to Ayers, Rezko, Farrakhan, Malcolm X, the Black Panthers, and many other anti-Americans and terrorists.

As usual, you are all blasting John Edwards for what his wife Elizabeth says. You are so ridiculous. I think Elizabeth Edwards is a very intelligent, compassionate and moral person and I believe John is. I know for a fact that most of the law suits he has tried are ones where the public was being bamboozled by big business firms. I know of several first hand.

As far as health insurance, Senator Clinton has said over and over again (anyone listening???) that if you are happy with the plan you have now, you can keep it. That’s a plus that the other plans don’t have. But for those of you who think that because you have a great insurance plan now while you are employed, that you will ge the same “deal” when you retire, you have a rude awakening. I, too, had worked my way up the ladder and had wonderful health care that cost me very little while I was employed, but due to Mr. Bush sending my job overseas, I took early retirement, only a couple of years early, but now my supplemental insurance plan, which is the same plan I was covered under while working, now cost me approximately $5,000/yr for just my husband and me. That’s not taking into account what we pay in SS and the co pay we have for medical and prescriptions and we feel fortunate when speaking with others who are in much worse shape than we are. I, for one, would like to see some type of plan that will not make those who do work and pay their own way, not have to take up the slack for those who do not work or who are not responsible enough to keep insurance. I don’t really like government in our life so much either, but I don’t see any other way that it could work. Something has to be done about high health costs, which will not happen without some type of government control.

OK so let me get this straight…you want the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT to make your health care decisions for you………….hahahahahahahahahaha.

Just look what happened with the education in this country when the government got involved.

NO THANK YOU, I will make the decisions for my health care and that of my kids and guess what…I’ll pay for the services rendered. Even if I have to make payments.
(which I had to do for the birth of my first child since I had NO insurance)
