When I hear how much the government would lose by lowering taxes on gas -- it makes me sick. How much money has the government made since Jan 1, 2007 on the increased cost of gas? Why not freeze the taxable amount at 2.50 per gallon. You would still be getting what you got last year and give us a break while seeking a better solution to the problem. Retired couple on fixed income - gas, food or medicine - which choice shall I make this month?

[...] Clinton To Introduce Legislation For Federal Gas Tax Holiday “I imagine that President Bush will be against it. Anything that goes against the oil companies you can count on the two oil men in the White House being against, that kind of is something we’ve gotten used to. But we’ve got to be prepared, and we’ve got to take the case. And we’ve got to do everything we can to try to get some changes out of congress. Then we’ve got to get really in position when finally we have a new president next January to get serious about overcoming all of our energy costs and our challenges.” [...]

Another original thought from her majesty, was Billie whispering in her ear? Hillary introducing the gas tax holiday would be a change from her usual Happy Birthday, renaming a rock, building, or street , etc senate proposals. Billie and Hillary a unique trio.

We need Bill Gates for President. He knows how to handle the economy, would squash the buffoons in Washington because he doesn’t need to kiss ass, and he wouldn’t give away our money to stinking ungrateful ragheads across the ocean.

Not Bill Gates, who builds in planned defects into Microsoft Windows. What would he build into our government that would need automatic upgrades, forever!!!!!
How about Steven Jobs instead.

I agree that the gas prices probably won't go down with Hillary's plan, Everyone agrees the gas prices are astronomical and something must be done, but it seems that there are some who are trying to come up with soutions to he problem and others who just sit back waiting to argue about why they don't like the idea. Kind of sounds like our congress, which is why nothing much gets done.

“Typical White Person” shut up its your stupid party that got us into this mess were in. Most economist believe this war will cost us somewhere between 1-2 trillion dollars which would be 10-20% of the Nation Debt.
Second this “Tax Holiday” is a joke because Hillary knows she’s losing this race and is trying to throw out gimmick ideas that will hurt the average american, but she doesn’t care about that as long as she gets elected. Lastly the stupid Wright situation needs to stop if this is all you have on Obama then this race should already be over. This is the problem with politics, this has nothing to do with how good of a leader Obama would be.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brain, economist say different things to different people depending on who they are tryiing to make happy at the time. Let's face it, there are some people who are always in a mess regardless of who is president, because they can't wipe their rear-ends without the governments help. Well, this past adminstration did not single handedly put you or anyone else in a mess. You were in a mess before they ever came along.

If you believe that you are going to be living on easy street if Obama is elected you need much therapy. Obama is not going to supernaturally pull you out either, he needs your vote right now, but if elected he will blow you off like yesterdays news. (I think you are the stupid one)..
The change Obama has in mind is not the change you think it is. Wise up!

It will not lower the price of gas! I repeat, it will not lower the price of gas!
Supply of oil is not responsive to price. Suspending the tax will increase demand. The price will rise in order to decrease demand to the level of supply. Which will be the price that it previously was with the tax in place. You will not save any money! Gas will cost the same! For all you free-market types, guess what, this is the free market in action. Basic Econ 101 folks.
Search the news today, any economist asked about the so-called gas tax holiday agrees with this.

To the post named Comment by gal:

What does your ranting and raving have to do with the topic on this board. It is about a real issues that you Obamanians have been whinning about not getting to talk about, 'the temporary gas cut', which Obama (the one who wants to bring 'Change' and 'relief' to us 'hard working Americans") voted NO on, Wow, some change. So, GAL, take you peanut brain and go sit down and shut up.
Next time, unless you have an issue to discuss just go to the "I hate America" blog, which you will find on the MSNBC or CNN web sites.
