Obama Pops the Question: “Will You be my Running Mate?”

Most candidates are tight-lipped about whom they are considering to be their running mates – especially if they haven’t locked down their party’s nomination as Barack Obama has yet to do. But today in Wilmington, North Carolina, in front of 5,000 voters and a slew of media, Barack Obama asked, “Will you be my running mate?”

The crowd erupted in applause when 82-year-old Wilmington resident Jean Weiss ran up the aisle to hug Obama after she asked him a question about the world’s water crisis.

So how does one get on the Obama ticket?

First, the potential veep has to be loyal the candidate. “You captured my heart and I said that’s the man for me from here on out,” Weiss exclaimed when she got a hold of the microphone. “I like that!” Obama responded with a smile.

Second, a running mate must be able to defend certain policies of the candidate – even if they are controversial. “When you said, ‘Yes I will sit down with all my enemies, we’re gonna sit around the table, we’re gonna work this thing out, sensible people, and not where we just go around shoot everybody up who we don’t agree with,’ – sir, that was not naiveté that was wisdom. Wisdom!” she said with authority.

“You got the biggest cheer in the room!” Obama noted when the crowd gave her a rousing applause. Which is the third characteristic – an ability to rally the troops.

Fourth – one must bring experience to the table and be able to offer the candidate a little friendly advice. “Don’t hit on Hillary, bring us all back, let her do that stuff. Leave her alone, you don’t need to do that, you are higher than that. Bring us up higher than that,” Weiss said with 82 years of experience.

And the final quality that shouldn’t be overlooked – the candidate must like his veep in return. “She got me fired up!” Obama said with affection after the two embraced.

With all these boxes checked, an Obama-Weiss ticket looks like a match made in heaven.

LA Times is now reporting Obama took money in exchange for political favors. He awarded a state contract to Robert Blackwell Jr. when he was having financial problems. So much for “hope” and “change”.

#4 said it all bring some experience to my campaing. He knows he’s unqualified, enexperienced, but he does like to talk. Lets give him a talk show. He might do all right with that. Lets just move on with the primaries and hope they get it right. Put the More qualified Hillary on the ticket.

Hillary’s only experience is of being corrupted by corporations. Electing her would be like electing Monsanto to take care of the FDA. Oh her husband already did that, but she’ll continue.

She lies about her experience daily and it takes the comics (Sinbad and Stewart) to say the Empress has no clothes!

[...] Obama has picked his running mate … and it’s not Hillary Clinton, but it is a woman - an eighty-two year old woman. [...]

I have followed closely the US Democratic Party presidential nomination race. I have also, listened carefully both Senators Clinton and Barack Obama as they present their case and try to outwit the other by hammering on any perceived flip in the others presentation or claim.

I make bold to say here that Senator Barack Obama is by miles the better candidate. He has shown that he can carry all Americans and people around the world along. He is the most truthful and articulate of both candidates. He has also shown the most restrain in his utterances.

Senator Hillary Clinton and her supporters are becoming more and more unbearable in their derogatory claim and wilful disrespect to the so called “small states” by stressing at any given opportunity that her winning the primaries in some so called “big states or democratic base” gives her the birth right to the ticket. What arrogance and flagrant disrespect for her opponent! Is she trying to change the rule of the game while the game is going on? Is that an insight to “her kind of judgement?” Is democracy no longer a game of numbers? People will only respect and vote for a candidate who win the ticket by election and not selection.

Also, I believe it is high time for Hillary Clinton to stop her divisive attitude and racial undertones. She should come out clean and bold and say what she and her husband have been saying all along in poorly selected undertones. Democrates will always be democrats whoever wins the ticket. If eventually Barack Obama wins the ticket, I believe that all those democrats that made Clinton win the primaries in her demographically favoured states will NOT turn their back on the party. They are not republicans and as such will vote for Barack Obama come November.

Finally, in awaiting the super delegates do the needful come June 3rd, a little piece of advice for both candidates and the entire Democratic Party system – they should always remember that “the day you start to insult yourself others will join you”.

Hillary would bring such a wave of discord, unlike anything the country has ever seen. I wanted either Biden or Dodd, but Obama is by far the best choice of the 3. Hillary is a pathological liar. Any woman that would stay with a man that humiliated her like that , just for the sake of politics is dangerous. Remember what they did to the White HOuse the last time they were there. After renting out the Lincoln Bedroom, they looted and destoryed it so much it had to be completly remodeled.

Hillary was the only person on the ballot in MI . Listen to the youtube of her saying Fl and MI will not count. Yep, if she wants a debate, she should debate herself. She has flip-flopped on the FL/MI vote, NAFTA, Bosnia, Columbia, China, and just today the gas tax. WOW that would be a great debate. She has both the affirmative and the negative on all issues.

What a dangerous combination! Jeremiah Wright his VP. I think these men will work towards the reparation for all of their people. Watch your pocket my fellow Americans. Our generation will have to pay them for hundreds of years after that. How is obama going to fix the Economy? By raising our taxes so high that will hurt the working class, small businesses. big corporations, all kinds of businesses will get hurt. Economy will get hurt.

These are the other issues that I thought is happening.
Hugo Chavez, and the Pres. of Iran are both gigling while they control the crude oil supplies so that gas prices in America will be so high. The purpose is to make the American people angry and blame the GOP, particularly president Bush for the rapid increase of gas price around our country. Then people will turn around and vote Obama for that big CHANGE. And when Obama becomes the US president, America will become a secular progressive state which eventually be controlled by Islam. Obama I believe will nominate a Muslim judge for the Supreme Court. That will be another big CHANGE. Then Obama will embrace, Hugo Chavez, the Pres of Iran, Hamas, Alcaeda, and other Islam countries. That is indeed a big CHANGE to make America Islam country, and CHANGE the world. Richardson, Michael Moore, and Jimmy Carter, the symphatizers of these radical countries will join Obama in celebrating their victory. THESE ARE THE CHANGES that Barack Hussien Obama wants to happen!

Jeremiah Wright, Farrakhan, Ayers, and the Nation of Islam will celebrate their victory.
Why can’t the American people realize that? Please beware my fellow Americans. Do you want these CHANGES that Obama is going to make?

As I can see from the 80% of the respondent here it really doesn’t matter who Obama’s running mate is. Some radical liberals will cling to him “like guns and religion”, but the American people love their country more than any party and in the end will vote for the candidate who earns the right to sit in the highest office of this country. Obama has not earned that right even if he raised JFK from the dead to run as his VP.

…..”Any woman that would stay with a man that humiliated her like that , just for the sake of politics is dangerous”.

please understand that women, if not men, do not enter into marriage lightly. no marriage is perfect and every marriage requires work. not the first year or two but always. there are good times and bad and, in an effort to make the relationship work, there has to be the ability to compromise and the ability to communicate. with either the realtionship is no good. the clintons have been able to do both. of all the couples that have divorced, how many were able to talk to each other, listen to each other and compromise when having differing opinions? none. its too easy to quit a marriage today and most couples will for various reasons but i admire any man or woman who fights to keep their marriage intact. if you dont like that she stood by her man then you are probably a quitter oh and probably perfect?

Perhaps I’m stating the obvious here, but the Democratic Party is not really one Party, but two. You have those who support the far left - Obama, and those who support the more moderates - Hillary. I really can’t see those who support Obama voting for McCain, as they will lose much of their voice in political matters. I can see Clinton supporters supporting Mccain, and not Obama, because of the way the far left wants to govern seems to scare many people, including the moderate Democrats.

It seems kind of weird that the Clintons are being as badly bashed as they are from the far left, as they were held in such high regard throughout the 90’s by all of the Democratic Party. What has happened to knock the Clintons off their pedestal? Is there new information that has suddely come out that the Rebublicans didn’t already dish out? Perhaps it is now a “vast left-wing conspiracy”.

It appears the far left of the Democratic Party is going to take the nomination to run for the Presidency. This is what really scares many people. With Pelosi as head of the House, and Obama as President, wouldn’t you worry? One of these years, the more moderate Democrats are either going to go independent, As Lieberman has, or start another party altogether. The far left is gaining more and more momentum. Watch-out America, if the far left takes over we are all in trouble.

Do you think so?? I doub it, there is a whole lot more to it:

Barack Obama’s disturbing associations with a domestic terrorist (Ayers), to a prominent Palestinian advocate of suicide bombings (Khalidi), a corrupt Iraqi billionaire (Auchi), a sleazy personal fundraiser and mafioso (Rezko), and to his own genocidal maniac of a cousin from Kenya (Odinga), for whom Obama led a “positive” campaign effort to achieve his “election” a few
years back. As many of us know, Obama’s camp has recently taken a defensive stance
and have dedicated countless hours to spread the word around the internet that these
issues are “irrelevant” to a Presidential campaign and that bringing them up are
thus a full exemplification of “dirty politics”.

To Wright. Being drafted as a 18-21 year old doesn’t make you a patriot at age 60+.

Even Hardball thinks Wright is nuts. ha
Obama has been groomed by the Islamists since he was a kid. Wants to ruin our country from the top as they know they can’t do it militarily. Why would a muslim kid, with a muslim dad and step dad, and an atheist mother all of a sudden send him to Catholic schools.? Then he goes to Lefty liberal universties to be an elitist, then join up to a radical American hater. Not only is he scary he is a threat.
He and his hateful wife can go back to Kenya. Thank you Wright. You are benefiting Hillary and McCain. Then you can go live in that 10million dollar house with the 16 mil. dollar credit line (the fools gave you) amongst those white people you hate so much. Rich ones.
