Fred says VP slot “not in the cards”
During an interview on Hannity and Colmes Thursday, former candidate Fred Thompson was dismissive of a potential VP offer from Sen. McCain and said he would decline the number two spot even if the presumptive GOP nominee offered it up.
THOMPSON: No. That’s not in the cards, Sean. That’s not what I want.
HANNITY: Why?
THOMPSON: Well, it’s not — it’s not — mainly, it’s not what I want. And I don’t think that call would ever happen. I think John needs somebody else. I would advise him, if he asked me, that he needs somebody else and of a different profile.
It’s not what I want. The presidency is the only job in town that’s worth going through what you’ve got to go through to get it. And that includes the vice presidency and all of the rest of them, as far as I’m concerned.
And I thought I had an opportunity to do some things a different way. And if I was successful, I could lead in a different way. That didn’t work out. I’m interested in absolutely nothing else other than doing what I can to help those who are trying to help this country, and be a good citizen and do those things that I can do now in the private sector to help these kids and grandchildren.
But that does not involve, you know, going to state funerals in faraway places

Fred Thompson was very good on Hannity last night.
When Hannity asked him his thoughts on the whole Wright and Ayers connection to Obama, Thompson said he didn’t want any friends of Wright or Ayers in the White house.
He said what a lot of us are thinking!
good for you, Hannity and Thompson!
FOX FIX YOUR THREADS!

Obama runs with quite the crew!
“The presidency is the only job in town that’s worth going through what you’ve got to go through to get it.”
Why is that?
Just when we needed some “Strength” in Leadership, Mr. Thompson comes to the Front Again
Sorry he didn’t get the Nomination, Would the rest of this Election Process have gone differently?
Not on the Democrat side, (That,) being said.
This fight will drag on, and on till August for the “Super” Delegates, to decide!
It is no longer Just a race for President, it’s about the “RACE” and Rancor of the Retoric that is dividing this country!
For the Haves and Government Handouts, for the Don’t, want to Work, don’t want to compromise,
We Just want to, Bash the Bush administration, and I’m Talking about the Representatives in and,
With This Congress!
And All of their Democratic supporters, on the Welfare Rolls waiting for their, handout?
Now the Government is sending the Check’s in the Mail, for the average household to pay their,
“GAS BILL!”
And Congress and the democrats can get on with “Passing Wind” and “NOTHING”, no resolutions to solve anything to do withThe “ISSUES”!
Hey, How About, the Housing Fiasco, Caused by the corporations and Banking Industry on Wall Street? And Pointing fingers, to who did “NOTHING” in the Senate and Congress for the Country?
What About the Security of our Borders? Or The Illegal Immigration Problem, and Drug Gangs and cartels that Poison our kids, and on and on!
OR, Just for their Constituent’s back in the “District” of Columbia, and their Secular Progressive Socialist Agenda!
If “You” are probably, Too Tired of it “ALL”, Already? I know I am! Hell it Has, Been Too Long NOW!
Let alone that it is going to go on till August! Then The General Election in NOVEMBER!
CAN WE GET A BREAK? Do You Think We Will Remember? Florida, and Michigan, Will!
I think it’s time for all leadership in the House and Senate to speak up against the race baiting incitement coming out of the Democratic Leadership ” Clayburn” his remarks on Fox News today should be condemed .
I like Thompson, and I’m impressed with Hannity for being one of the very few that is not afraid to talk about the those issue that have Americans anxious about Obama.
God Bless America
Rep Clyburn is the representative of the disctrict in which I reside - Sumter County, South Carolina.
This county is 47% black. It has a crime rate on per capita par with Detroit and DC. Public education is a farce. Welfare is prolific. Drugs permeate the community.
The only evidence of Clyburn’s leadership is his name on community centers.
Yet, he’s re-elected time and again.
Come to Sumter County South Carolina and witness first hand, liberal democrat failure.
Rep Clyburn’s FAILURE, most likely.
By the number of votes Thompson got in the primaries, I am not sure why anybody care what he says.
I think Ron Paul(the Liberal) got more votes than him.
Thompson is like a lot of other conservatives that want to keep Obama’s race in the forefront.
In a country where ALL men are created equal, one’s race should not be a factor.
Apparently, “race” is an issue with conservatives.
Rev. Wright is an old and bitter man, whose ideas are outdated and should be ignored. Obama has attempted to put this distraction aside but the consevatives are the ones who wont let this “race” issue go.
Then why does Obama keep bringing it up, Michael?
RE: Kerry Marvin
You may, have, valid POINTS but “it’s” impossible, to decipher, Learn the , proper use of, “punctuation”, MARKS.
AND COMMA’S
As usual Hannity asks the the dumbest questions possible. Old Fred apparently got some very bad advice from his advisors when they told him to jump in the race at the last second. Then you can lay down and take a long nap and when you wake up your coffers will be filled and you’ll be leading the pack. Don’t worry Fred your the self annoited saviour of the conservatives.
When Fred woke up from his nap and found out things wern’t going as planned, he threw himself into it. Of course he did this by taking 1&2 week “lay-offs” while campaigning. Not showing up for some scheduled rallies and by giving uninspirational speeches at places he did show up.
HEY HANNITY, YOU DICK–WHY ASK HIM IF HE’D TAKE THE SECOND SPOT. APPARENTLY HE DIDN’T WANT THE FIRST SPOT.
to Michael in Atlanta: Obama is a racist, his wife is an even bigger racist. Conservatives would vote for a “qualified” person of color; provided they had no muslim ties and were for “all” the people.
Barack “Hussain” Obama……that just doesn’t sound American.
Moot points, all.
Prepare for a long boring summer of rehashed old news, and Obama’s slide into obscurity.
With the nomination secured, Obama has no cover. He’s center-ice in the spot light, and about to be exposed for the rookie he is.

I am not sure if I heard this correctly but did Obama get upset with a reporter for interrupting him while eating a waffle. I did not realize they were so important to him. If he gets elected and a crises comes up while he is eating his waffles, we are screwed. Does this mean he will not live in the White House but will live in the Waffle House.
It wasn’t as much about the waffle, as it was the Aunt Jemima syrup.
Thea -
Agreed. Obama hasn’t the comportment to preside over much of anything, let alone the federal government.
If he’s the nominee, it won’t take long for his weaknesses to be exposed,
Obama is petty, arrogant, immature and racist. Nuff said.
It wasn’t as much about the waffle, as it was the Aunt Jemima syrup.

That was obviously racist of the diner….PC would have dictated that they serve Log Cabin brand
Who can blame him? John Nance Garner once described the job as “not worth a bucket of warm piss”.
Mr. Thompson would have made a great president but I can understand he wouldn’t want the VP offer. He wasn’t in this for the prestige or power trip, I believe he wanted to bring a plain old way of doing things to this screwed up world that I believe would have worked. A big thanks to you Mr. Thompson for trying. God Bless you and your family.
Bravo to you Sean for keeping Obama and his associations out there so all can see who he really is and what he is really all about! Don’t listen to anyone who might say it’s getting worn. I’m afraid we only discovered the tip of the iceberg. We truly need you to be the light in the dark. Your playing a major role in the salvation of this country. Keep up the good work… this country needs you and those like you. We need to know. God bless you Sean and your family.
m.c.
I am with you there.
God Bless you Sean Hannity. You’ve got guts.
The rest of the media pundits are allowing themselves to be bullied into silence.
They are too busy trying to be politically correct, to ever bring up a negative on Obama. What would the liberals think of them? That would be too close to reporting the truth. Instead, the media chooses to manufacture a phony superstar. That star’s not shining as bright anymore. He is being exposed for the fraud he really is.
Obama has the nerve to run with no significant leadership experience. His bid for the presidency would be like a girl scount interviewing for the CEO of General Motors. He’s way over his head and you can tell when he gets off-script. I’m stunned that so many apparently intelligent people have fallen for his rhetoric. Anyone (almost) can speak, many inspire, but inspiration is nothing without real, concrete solutions - Obama doesn’t have the experience (in life or in politics) to deal with our problems. Even scarier, he’ll deal with our problems the way Stalin did. Socialism doesn’t work. Federalism (Frederalism) does.

Come on Fred you are exactly what needs to be in the VP office!!!
Kerry Marvin is exactly right. Will the phonic monkeys shut up. Its all just a bunch of BS someone made up like anything else, they recently added w00t to the dictionary if that tells you anything.
