If McCain had been president during Katrina…

New Orleans, LA — “In all candor, if I had been President of the United States, I would have ordered the plane landed at the nearest air force base and I’d been over here,” McCain told reporters aboard his bus today.

OBAMA VS. CLINTON = “Thing One” vs. “Thing Two” scrapping over letting everyone know the other will cause the most damage.

In each of their own minds, that anyone else besides the other will cause even greater damage than both of them together is for now a given to be dealt with later.

John McCain is full of IT! For a guy that did not want Martin Luther King, Jr. to have a day recognized as a holiday and to have his state be one of the last states to recognize it, now he is SO concerned about “black” people? Come on!!!! You have no chance of winning in November regardless of which one of these Democrats come out on top. We will not have another Bush ran government in office!!!! It’s funny how alot of people only care about someone when they need them.

David Horowitz writes:
“When the Bush administration belatedly began expanding Iran’s surrogate war against the United States in Iraq, Iranian leaders seized on arguments already made by American leftists in their psychological war against the United States. Iran’s ambassador to the United nations, Javad Zarif, wrote that America had “invaded Iraq on false pretenses” and was now “trying to make Iran its scapegoatand fabricating evidence of Iranian activities in Iraq.” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hossaini similarly assured reporters: :Lots of this evidence is fake, artificial. For example when they wanted to start a war in iraq, they make [up] plenty of evidence that there were lots of weapons in Iraq.”

I am tired of the Democrats making stuff up to make themselves look good. The radical Islamist all over the world use their comments against the United States of America.

The following is General Patraeus’s own words on Iran:

“The recent flare-up in Basrah, southern Iraq, and Baghdad underscored the importance of the cease-fire declared by Moqtada al-Sadr last fall as another factor in the overall reduction in violence. Recently, of course, some militia elements became active again. Though a Sadr standdown order resolved the situation to a degree, the flare-up also highlighted the destructive role Iran has played in funding, training, arming, and directing the so-called Special Groups and generated renewed concern about Iran in the minds of many Iraqi leaders. Unchecked, the Special Groups pose the greatest long-term threat to the viability of a democratic Iraq.”

Patraeus goes further in stating the threat of Iran. I am tired of America Democrats ignoring these facts. I want MCain to win… and I want Mccain to shut up the Democrats and the Iranians who have been lying…honesty is so important in ALL aspects of life.

I am disgusted with african american community, Bill and Hillary Clinton are not racist, and Bill Clinton has not made any racist remarks. For years the Clintons have been helping the black community and this is the thanks they get. When the black community wanted anything, Hillary was the first person they went to in the senate. Bills cabinet had the first african americans in it. Barak Obama played the race card and admitted it, still after all the abuse Bill Clinton was in New Orleans helping to build houses and he continues to raise money using his global initiative to raise funds to help fight poverty and eradicate aids which affect a lot of the black community. For his efforts he is accused of being racist, and hislegacy denigrated for the sake of someone who is not experienced or capable of being President. The message being sent to the white community is that the African American community has no loyalty and will stab you in the back at the first opportunity.

I don`t know what McCain would have done as President, but I know what I would have done. Nothing. Living in New Orleans, is like building your house on the rim of a volcano, and hoping it never errupts, even though it rumbles, and puffs smoke every day. Three years later that place is still a ghost town. The only ones that have rebuilt, are the only ones with any ambition to begin with. If the Government were to give everyone of the residents $200,000 to rebuild, I bet less than 1% of them would use the money for that purpose. The other 99% would blow the money, and be broke in a year, and still not have a place to live. Other cities are leveled flat by hurricains, and tornadoes, and a year later you can`t even tell anything ever happened. The people reclaimed their town, and made it home again. The people of New Orleans have basically shown That they want the Government to do it all for them. If not, they would not still be living in free trailers, complaining about rats, and roaches. Which comes from your own filth. They would be at least trying to make at effort at starting a new life. Even if they have to move elsewhere. After three years, the lack of gitty-up and go some of these people demonstrate, really shows what kind of people they are.

Thy election come
Thy will be done, in Washington as it is in Chicago
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our bitterness, as we forgive them whom cling to thier guns bitterly.
And lead us not into debates about policy
But deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever

Well, he didn’t just throw the kitchen sink at Hillary Clinton. As Taylor Marsh noted yesterday, he threw the bank vault:

Flush with cash, Obama reported spending $11.2 million on television in the state, compared with $4.8 million for Clinton. Clinton’s once double-digit lead in Pennsylvania polls narrowed to single digits in recent weeks as both candidates put more time and resources into the state.

And the result? A huge Clinton victory.

Pennsylvania voters not only failed to deliver Obama the knockout blow he was looking for, they gave his opponent a big lift. First, the financial boost. In the first 24 hours after the state was called for Hillary, her campaign received $10 million in donations and added 80,000 new donors.

It is part of the ongoing sexism and misogyny in this primary that Hillary Clinton gets blamed for negativity. It’s the same old game: If a man makes a comment, then he’s being strong and powerful but, if a woman makes a similar statement, she’s being negative. (See Shakesville’s running list of sexist comments made about Hillary. She’s counted 75 so far).

In fact, in response to Obama’s Rovian tactics, the Clinton campaign sent around a quiz with negative statements about Hillary. All twelve came from the Obama campaign or Obama himself.

Negativity?

Who said Hillary Clinton is “literally willing to do anything to win”
Who said Hillary Clinton is attempting to “deceive the American people”
Who claimed Hillary Clinton has a secret 20-year plan to become president
Who called Hillary Clinton a calculating, poll-tested, divisive figure
Who called Hillary Clinton “one of the most secretive politicians in America”
Who said Hillary Clinton’s campaign is “playing politics with war”
Who said John McCain is seen as more honest and trustworthy than Hillary Clinton
Who called Hillary Clinton dishonest
Who referred to Hillary Clinton as “a monster”
Who said Hillary Clinton is “not being straight with the American people”
Who said of Hillary, “The American people are not going to elect a president that they do not trust”
Who claimed Hillary Clinton “consistently” and “deliberately” misleads the American people
Obama has been shielded by his benefactors for over a year. His campaign has gotten away with these relentless attacks against Hillary, yet she is being accused of taking the low road. Americans are finally having their questions answered about Obama’s questionable friends, and Americans are turning off to this media-hyped creation.

One hopes the superdelegates are paying attention to Obama’s certain unraveling.

Who’s going to pay for these revotes? I would prefer private corporations not to fund elections, if the states themselves want to pay for them go for it. But they won’t. If Hillary really cared about their votes, why did she agree that their votes wouldn’t count. She now only counts them because she needs them. Again she’s willing to say and do anything, flip flop, lie, change the rules to win.

Hillary Clinton - Yes, She Will
As the Wright corpse climbs out of the coffin Big Media/Obama built for him Paul Krugman takes on Obama full force.

A few months ago the Obama campaign was talking about transcendence. Now it’s talking about math. “Yes we can” has become “No she can’t.”

This wasn’t the way things were supposed to play out.

Mr. Obama was supposed to be a transformational figure, with an almost magical ability to transcend partisan differences and unify the nation. Once voters got to know him — and once he had eliminated Hillary Clinton’s initial financial and organizational advantage — he was supposed to sweep easily to the nomination, then march on to a huge victory in November.

Well, now he has an overwhelming money advantage and the support of much of the Democratic establishment — yet he still can’t seem to win over large blocs of Democratic voters, especially among the white working class.

As a result, he keeps losing big states. And general election polls suggest that he might well lose to John McCain.

What’s gone wrong?

We need to stop paying for disasters, and let the individual locations, financially plan for their own disasters. Then if they don`t have enough money to rebuild, they will realize it`s time to live in a more logical spot. That would never work though, because everyones hand is stuck in a pemanent out, and open position.

Barack Obama Destroys The Democratic Party
Back in the days when Obama was pushing Hopium and hustling for change, the flim-flam routine included a riff on how he would “expand the map”. Part of the “expand the map” riff was that Obama would help elect down ballot Democrats running for Congress. No longer.

As we wrote in Barack Obama - Party Pooper Republicans are already mailing literature demanding Democratic House candidates “renounce or embrace” Obama’s bitter and clingy remarks.

We wrote:

Obama at the top of the ticket will force all Democrats to denounce Obama for Rezko, Wright, Bitterness. It will be wholesale slaughter at the ballot box in November in a year when Democrats expected to win.

We quoted Politico (which did not mention similar tactics by Republicans in a House race):

The piece underscores the extent of which Republicans, up and down the ticket, will seize on the comments should Obama get the nomination.

Disaster with Obama. Superdelegates Beware - Obama will destroy Democrats such as Brad Ellsworth in Indiana and Heath Schuler in North Carolina. Obama will destroy entire state Democratic delegations.

More evidence of the destruction Obama will wreak on the Democratic Party in November will appear starting next week. Democratic House candidates are now - in televised advertisments - under attack because of Barack Obama’s bitter words. Words have consequences Barack.

Comment by M Period

Sonia,

Obama is polling very high statewide in North Carolina and ahead of Hillary in most polls in Indiana. Why do you think he’s hurting them?

Comment by SONIA

If Barack Obama’s campaign wants to suggest that a photo of him wearing traditional Somali clothing is divisive, they should be ashamed. Hillary Clinton has worn the traditional clothing of countries she has visited and had those photos published widely.

This is nothing more than an obvious and transparent attempt to distract from the serious issues confronting our country today and to attempt to create the very divisions they claim to decry.

We will not be distracted.

Superdelegates are like tie-breakers.

The 2,025 magic number is magic because it represents 50%+1 of ALL the delegates that attend the Democratic National Convention. I’m not sure if the 2,025 number includes FL/MI delegates but if it doesn’t then the magic number changes.
….
Super delegates are included in determining the magic number of delegates needed. The higher the number of pledged delegates a candidate wins, the fewer number of superdelegates she needs to secure the nomination.

It is possible, though not required, to secure the nomination without any superdelegates. It is not possible to secure the nomination exclusively with superdelegates. Democratic candidates are required to convince the public as well as the individuals who the public entrusted, through elections, to promote their interests as Democrats.

M Period, I`m not going to teach you high school government on a blog. We both know what the function of our Government is supposed to be, but more and more it`s function keeps changing. If you work in a large factory, and you do your job, you get paid 40 hours worth of money at the end of the week. Everyone holds up their end of the deal, and everyone is happy. If you have to do your job, plus do the work for the person beside you too. Do you think the company is going to pay you for 80 hours? No. You just got screwed, but the company don`t care. Your co-worker just got a free ride on your back, and now is laughing at you. Now it`s a habit. He comes to work everyday, just to see how hard you can work, and how many paychecks he can draw for doing nothing. Our government is the company, and I am the worker. I`m pissed off , because their are to many people in this country getting paid just to show up, without putting their share in the kitty. Equality for all my ass. If you don`t pay in you shouldn`t be able to take out.

RC MO,

The people of New Orleans put into it. They pay taxes. They pay for your roads to be fixed, they pay for your kids to go to school, they pay for the army that protects you.

Comment by RC MO.

M Period, You missed my point. New orleans should not exist, because of it`s location. We should help the people relocate, but not rebuild. If you don`t work, no matter where you live, you should not get s-t. It`s stupid to rebuild New Orleans.

Comment by M Period

RC MO,

So what should you do if you are looking for a job and can’t find one?

Comment by M Period

And you can relocate them to your state, I’d prefer them to stay in New Orleans I don’t want millions of people flooding into my state. The bush tax cuts have hurt our economy enough.

Comment by RC MO.

M Period, If you can`t find one, your either to picky, or your not really looking. Ive, never gone without a job. I`m a farmer now, and have been for the last twenty-five years. Before that, I found work, and I don`t even have legs. If I could find a job, anyone can.

Comment by RC MO.

M Period, Now I guess you are going to tell me that raising taxes is going to fix everything.

Comment by M Period

RC MO,

I personally have never had problem finding on either, but while going to work I’ve walked passed homeless.. I’ve seen people trying to get jobs but there not being any. But fine lets say a man who was working 40 hours a week at a factory, has a family that factory closes he goes searching for another job but with factories moving out of the area the best he can do is 40 a couple min wag jobs… so he’s working 70 hours a week and making less than $500 a week. The gov should say.. too bad?

Comment by RC MO.

M Period, You don`t want them in your state. You are the one who has been saying how much you think we should help them. They can come to your state if they want to. They paid for your roads, they paid for your kids to go to school, they paid for the Army that protects you. They can come to my state, I don`t care. It would make more sense, and be cheaper, to help them make a new life here, than in then in that wasteland. Not in your state. Hmm.

Comment by M Period

RC MO,

No raising taxes isn’t going to fix everything but we can’t cut taxes while the gov is broke. Cutting taxes isn’t good for our country. Why would we cut a gas tax, like McCain and Hillary have both said, when that gas tax money is what pays for roads. Leave the gas tax in place, and fix our roads. There are bridges collapsing in America. Hire those consturciton workers who trying to work, not asking for handouts, but are trying to work but can’t find it because of the housing problem. Pay them to work, rebuild our aging infrastructure Tax cuts when the gov is running a deficit isn’t smart. It gets votes because everyone loves tax cuts, but its hurting the future of this country. So I’m not for raising taxes (I don’t really have a big problem with raising the capital gains tax) but the income tax, I say get rid of the tax cuts, return them to pre-bush levels. Balance the budget and THEN start cutting taxes.

Comment by M Period

RC MO,

I want them in new orleans, our schools are overcrowded, factory jobs are already scarce… adding hundreds of thousands of new people to an area, is going to raise unemployment. I’m all for helping people, I just don’t think they should be forced to relocate. Otherwise, the people who live in “tornado alley” should also be forced to move… anyone who lives on a fault line should be forced to move, and anyone who lives in the range of wild fires. Tornados and wildfires occur much more often than a hurricane hits New Orleans

Comment by RC MO.

M Period, My last post got lost. Sorry about the delay. I think if a person is making an effort, they should get some kind of supplemental income. I don`t believe in full welfare, it`s incentive not to work, and that incentive is passed down to the next generation. If you flip burgers ten hours a week, and can`t support yourself, you should get helped. By taking a job period, you showed the will to wok. that deserves a reward. Sitting on the sofa watching TV, and drinking beer, doesn`t.

Comment by M Period

RC MO,

Well then we agree on that. I don’t agree with full welfare either but there are times when I think the gov has a responsibility to help its less fortunate citizens. But I’m going to get off the computer. Have a good night

Thats big business. If people can`t afford to drive, they won`t go on vacation, and whole communities will go broke. Some towns make their entire annual incomes during the summer months. I agree that it is a band-aide fix, but I think it will help the tourism industry. I employ 88 people, and if I get taxed to much, I will close up shope, and retire. The capital gains tax will hit my IRA account pretty hard. It affects all investments, not just the rich.

If this was not the time to be elected to be the President of the United States of America, I really don’t think McCain would be in New Orleans. Why did he not go there when the storm (KATRINA) first happen, there were a lot of “people of color” that needed HELP right then. Now that it is election time, and what I saw walking with him were a not people of color. I have to say this, why did he not get together with BUSH and go there when the storm first happen, if you are not of people color will just not understand. I’m just trying to show (some people) people this world has a long ways to go. There was another bad storm (I can’t remember where it was, and will not pretend to remember), but BUSH was there in no time to help the people. This is a sad world just because of a person’s skin color. But GOD see’s ALL. We should be trying to pull together and not trying to keep the world divided, I’m a 69 years of age and I have seen a lot go on in the world concerning blacks and whites and you know which race gets shafted when something is going on. Just like I saw a picture of Hillary with the slum lord as she named him, did the media question her at any length about the picture, I heard her say “I don’t know who took the picture”. She was not forced to clarify what she was doing in the picture. The picture was shown on TV maybe two times at the most, but that’s the CLINTON’’s. Why would people want to put them back in the White House with all that BAGGAGE, and Bill start back to doing the same thing with all the 8 allegations (Women) that was in the news before/after his stay in the WHITE HOUSE.
