Fox news need to comment clearly that even after throwing in Michigan Hillary is still behind by over 100,000 votes assuming that you give Obama the uncommitted votes in Michigan. Since Hillary and her surrogates are into the assuming game, let us assume that she wins by an average 50% in all the other states remaining plus we throw in Florida and Michigan and of course giving Obama the Michigan uncommitted, does she win? No…She does not.

The public should be giving credit to presidential candidate that follow the rules. From day one he stated he will not take PAC and state Lobbyist money and has done just that. He said he would not give street money in Pennsylvania and he did not. My friends and families in PA said, had he handed out street money the margin for Hillary would have been around 5-6%. OK OK… I think everyone failed math class when in school. Hillary mathematically has no way to win more points than Obama at this point. She is in fact still in the race hoping that the super-delegates will turn the table in her favor. The Supers don’t just do that because they like you. Historically the Super Delegates go in favor of who has the most points, and that is in fact Obama. Obama and Edwards took their names off the ballot in Michigan and then actively campaigned for people to vote undecided, so if people didn’t want to vote for Hillary then it was easy, she still won Michigan by a large margin. As for Florida, Obama used the excuse of nationwide ad buys so that he could run adds in Florida, neither Edwards nor Clinton actively campaigned in florida or advertised in Florida. Now here is the big thing, The Obama camp says the votes of Michigan and Florida democrats do not count, you have to win these states in order to win the presidency in November and you have just told over 2 million people that their vote doesn’t matter, the ordinary voters did not break the rules. Her talk about obliterating Iran makes her sound like she’s lost her mind. If she has that in mind, why would you say it. She scares me. The fact that she twists everything her way and will say anything to win is not a good sign.

I simply cannot believe that the Clinton campaign is attempting to claim that she leads in the popular vote! Any intelligent person cannot agree that the votes in Michigan and Florida count due to the irregular primaries held in those two states this year.

That must mean that Senator Clinton et al. are either highly unintelligent or purposefully manipulating the facts. I’m not sure which is worse, but either way it stinks.

Clinton is on solid ground to demand that the votes cast in Florida and Michigan be counted, in my judgment. According to news accounts, the candidates agreed not to campaign in Florida and Michigan. Apparently both candidates kept the commitment, except Obama had run some national cable T.V. adds that appeared in Florida and Obama supporters led a drive in Michigan, where Obama had removed his name from the ballot, to get people to vote for “none of the above”.

The DMC ruled that the Michigan and Florida delegates would not be seated and stripped them of their delegate votes. However, there was no penalty imposed regarding the actual vote tallies since delegates, not actual votes, determine the outcome.

Obama has made a big issue of the number of votes received, in addition to the number of states won and the committed delegate count to date. Obviously then, Obama would agree that the number of votes cast (for either candidate) is a fair judge of whom the Democratic primary voters prefer, aka the “beauty contest”.

Moreover, to not count the votes cast in Michigan and Florida is a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise those millions of Democratic voters, votes that will be necessary in the Fall if the Democrats are to capture the white house. Should the DMC now impose this NEW penalty of not counting the votes, in addition to not counting or seating delegates, then the Democrat party should not be surprised when those same voters decide to vote for a party that will count their votes.

So, count the votes. They are not determinative of the outcome of the primary contest, but, as Clinton correctly asserts, they are indicative of the will of the voters and should be considered if neither candidate can muster enough committed delegates to achieve nomination. Then the auto-delegates can consider the total votes cast in order to decide which candidate can win against the Republicans in November.

Give me a break, Bud! The popular votes from those two states are only useful insofar as the races between Senators Obama and Clinton in Florida and Michigan were equal and fair. That is clearly not the case and therefore the votes are largely without meaning.

The DNC made it clear that Florida and Michigan would be punished if they moved up their primary dates. The punishment that usually matters is in the delegate counts, but refusing to count the primary vote as well is consistent with that message.

These facts, however, are to the side of the main reason why the voting in Florida and Michigan can’t be given weight equal to that of other states: It is a matter of fairness to the candidates, not merely the voters. Irrespective of whether or not delegates were seated, if all the candidates still in the race at the time–last fall, there were five of them, Sen. Obama, Sen. Joe Biden, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, and Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio–had reason to believe the vote would ultimately be ratified, they would have presented themselves more thoroughly and earnestly to the voters. Since neither they nor Hillary did that, it is more than a little hollow for Mrs. Clinton now to claim that the voting in these states really reflects the will of the people living there. How many Obama, Biden, Richardson, Edwards, and Kucinich supporters simply stayed home those days (believing the same things that made the candidates stay away).

Hillary only wants to change the rules now because it could help her win the game (even though, at the start of the game, she agreed to the rules as they were). This is no different from some losing team wanting to add more players in the 4th quarter simply because they could help. What about the people who did not vote because they were told the votes would not count. If you gave all them to Obama since people actually voted for Hillary, Obama would have the most votes. Wake up people you can not count votes that the rules said they will not count.

Well as I see it the only candidate left that the Fl and MI votes would effect would be Obama and Hillary. As Al Sharpton was in Florida on Obama’s behalf and he ran commerials in Florida then he was well represented. Hillary won because, there are less African Americans in Florida, she tends to carry the older American voters and also she carries latinos so it make sense. The should seat the Florida votes as the people who are guaranteed a right to vote and to have that vote counted. As far as Michigan - they should just split the delegates evenly and that would settle that as Obama wasn’t on the ticket. The DNC, Ted Kennedy and Howard Dean should be impeached for the mess they caused and Nancy Pelosi just needs to SHUT UP.

obama is only leading in pledge delegates, because of the way the democratic party distributes delegates in some states. States like Texas, NC, MS, and others give a higher proportion of delegates in black congressional districs. Since obama is winning over 90% in those districts, it is virtually impossible for Hillary to overtake him in pledge delegates. On the other hand, if the Democratic party was winner take all as the republicans, Hillary would have been the winner by now!

Hillary’s statement is based on ineligible voting counts. Both Hillary and Obama agreed BEFOREHAND that the votes in Florida and Michigan would not count due to primary date-setting rule violations. No wonder Hillary couldn’t even pass the D.C. bar exam that included questions on…ethics!

I’m Canadian, so my opinion counts even less in this race than the opinions of 2.3 million primary voters in Florida and Michigan.

Neveretheless, I admire how Hillary has adopted some of the best/worst practices of the Bush campaign machine. Here specifically, she is attacking one of Obama’s strengths - the popular vote - which his team has pointed to consistently as an indicator of his right to the nomination. He can argue long and loud that her numbers are skewed, but the more he does, the more clouded this issue becomes. Suddenly, something that was once an unquestioned certainty is now open to interpretation, and that plays in her favor.

I love what Obama stands for, but if Democrats want to win the election they should go with the street fighter.

One last thought/question: What’s with Obama’s back-and-forth head snaps between teleprompters during his speeches? Does he ever actually stop to look at anybody? It’s a little hypnotic, kind of like windshield wipers when you’re driving through a rain storm! Once you notice it, you’ll never be able watch him speak again without thinking of windshield wipers! Agghhhh!

The ….. republican Governor signed the bill.

The answer is so … so simple … the DNC rules committee should take into consideration.

1. Democrats in Florida did NOT break ANY RULES.
2. Neither Obama or Clinton campaigned in Florida for the primary.
3. Declare that there will be NO PENALTY against the faultless patriotic voter.
4. PENALIZE “the Florida republicans” for the ROVE LIKE “dirty tricks” delivering Florida’s
ELECTORAL votes to the Democratic candidate.

Let republicans know you are not as dumb as they think you are.
