Obama Says Anyone’s Better than Bush

Senator Obama has been busy attacking both of his current rivals running for president on the stump at events across Pennsylvania. Senator McCain is on the wrong side when it comes to the economy and the Iraq war, while Senator Clinton’s “kitchen sink” campaign strategy is not moving the debate towards issues important to voters.

But in a moment of candor at the end of a town hall meeting in Reading, PA, he observed with a chuckle, “You have a real choice in this election – you know, either Democrat would be better than John McCain, and all three of us would be better than George Bush!”

At a rally last night in Harrisburg, though, Obama said that’s not a very high standard. “Senator Clinton will be vastly better than George Bush would be, but that’s a very low bar; that’s not good enough,” he told some 9,000 at a rally on the steps of the state capitol.

So why pick Obama out of the three? “What you have to ask yourself is who has the chance to really change things in a fundamental way so that ten years from now, or twenty years from now, you can look back and you can say, ‘Boy, we really moved in a new direction, and we put the country on a better path,’” he said.

David horowitz writes:

The object of war is to break an enemy’s will and destroy his capacity to fight. Therfore, a nation divided in wartime is a nation that invites its own defeat.yet that is percisely how Americans are facing the global war that radical Islamists have declared on them.

The enemies who confront us are religious barbarians, armed with the technologies of modern warfare but guided by morals that are medieval and grotesque. Their stated goal is the obliteration of America and the conquest of the West. They have assembled a coalition that includes sovereign satates such as Iran and Syria, Muslim armies such al-Quada, Hezbollah, and Hamas, and terrorist cells that are globally dispersed and beyond counting.

This Jihad has access to biological, chemical, and possibly nuclear weapons. It actively threatens the regions in Lebanon, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, Turkey, and Egypt. Among its allies are non-Muslim states such as the Communist regimes in North Korea, Venezuela, and China. Its enablers include Saudia Arabia, Russia, and the vast political networks of the international Left. It’s pool of sympathizers and supporters can be counted in the hundreds of millions , and its political fronts are embedded in almost every nation and every continent, including Europe and the United States.

David horowitz continues:

The warriors of the Jihad are promised salvation for slaughtering innocents; their highest honor is o sacrifice themselves for Allah by murdering infidels; their goal is restore an Islamic empire that once stretched into the heart of Europe, until it was defeated in the battle of Vienna on September 11,1683. Three hundred years later, osama bin Laden turned this date of humiliation into a day of vengeance-and revival. Striking America’s homeland on September 11,2001, jihadists murdered thousands of unsuspecting civilians, and came within a terrorist attack or two of destabilizing the American economy and unleashing chaos.

As the victim of these unprovoked and savage attacks, and as the defender of democratic values in three world wars, America would seem a worthy cause. Instead, America is on the defensive, harshly criticized by its traditional allies and under political attack by significant elements of its own population.

In this epic conflict Americans appear more divided among themselves than they have been at any time in the century-and- a half since the Civil War. never in those years was an American commander-in-chief the target of such extreme attacks by his own countrymen with troops in harm’s way. Never in its history has America faced an externalenemy with its own leaders so at odds with each other.

Even as American soldiers have fought a fanatical enemy on the battlefields of iraq, their president has been condemned as a deceiver who led them to war through “lies” as a destroyer of Ameican liberties, as a desecrator of the Constituton; as a usurper who stole his high office; as the architect of an “unnecessary war”as a “fraud”; as a leader who “betrayed us” and as a president who cynically sent the flower of American youth to die in foreign lands to enrich himself and his friends.

These reckless, corrisive charges are made not by fringe elements of the political spectrum, but by national leaders of the Democratic Party, including a former president, a former vise president and presidential candidate, and three members of the United States Senate. These attacks occured not after years of fighting in Iraq, when some might regard the result as a “quagmire” but during the first months of the conflict, when the fighting had barely begun. They were made not over a war that was forced on Americans, or surreptitiously launched without their consent, but a war authorized by both political parties. They were directed not merely at its conduct, but at the rational of the war itself-in other words, at the very justice of the American cause.

The world will be a better place without these radical religious groups and that means not just muslims but christians and countless other religious organizations that destroy in the name of god. These people are truely the worst kind of fool.

I must make note for Obama that McCain has accomplished more in this nation’s support in his little finger than Obama has accomplished thru out his lifetime. Of the three of them Obama is the least experienced, demonstrated the poorest judgement and has the worst ever radical associations ever in any presidental candidate. Not even during the vietnam war was there a candidate who had such negatives from radical un-american groups. Such would be akin to McCain openly courting the KKK and wondering why this would be a problem.

Do NOT be fooled by Obama’s pep-talks - he can deliver a well written speech off the teleprompter - but - his judgment and background are so questionable. With Hillary we know what we are getting - like she said - she comes with baggage that we have all rumaged thru.
With all the NEW FACTS about Obama and is associates - what else do we not yet know??
This is a very scary fact.

While I don’t agree with everything Bush says or does, he’s stayed true to his convictions and never waivered on his support for the troops, our mission, and he understands the seriousness of the threat of Islamic extremism. While we could all find fault in his post-war handling and the lack of enforcing our borders…

The alternatives we’re facing with the likes of Obama, his band of bigoted black supremacists, to whom he calls friends, and willingness to negotiate with known terrorists and state sponsors of terrorism is a far worse fate for us once in office.

To have 92% of blacks vote for Obama saddens me because it statistically shows they are voting according to race not because of experience, performance on the job, or vision; not even on political boundaries. That in itself is a form of reverse racism or they are just looking for who they think are going to give them more entitlements

Role Model for Children - Obama

A few days ago Obama gave the ‘finger’ to Hillary on national television and smugly laughed about it with his audience. Is this type of malicious immaturity what you want your children to learn: lack of tolerance, vengeance and the bully mentality? After that one event, besides the mindless and uneducated, how could anyone seriously consider this Obama for any office?

Also, Obama’s state-senate candidacy was launched at Weather Underground bombers Ayers house in 1995. Ayers who advocates the violent destruction of America may have much more to do with promoting Obama than we know. The organization MoveOn has aggressively intimidated delegates to vote for Obama and to shun Hillary and is likely closely connected with Ayers. Ayers finally got his bomb - Obama.

Obama also rigged his election to become senator by unfairly disqualifying his opponents. He did this by meticulously finding fault with each of the other candidates signed petitions until each of the contenders had to drop out, Obama was the last one standing, there was no election. This was another finger gesture towards the American public by Obama.

If this isn’t enough, look at Obama’s affiliations:
Wright
Meeks
Ayers
Abongo “Roy” Obama
Rashid Khalidi
Robert Malley
Hamas
McPeaks
Rezko
Auchi

And the list goes on…

This may be the time of the Anti-Christ, but do you want to be on the list of people who voted for him?

Obama says anyone is better than Bush. Really? Obama thinks he is running against President Bush…wake up fella! As much as I despise the Clintons, if I had only one other choice I would vote for Hillary. But having a second choice, I will vote for McCain in the general election. I have no doubt Obama is a closet socialist and along with his wife both have major contempt for our country. Obama would attempt to “change” America no doubt…but to what? America’s values and way of life (although not perfect by any means) have been passed down for generations. Why would any voter think this man who takes his little daughters to hear racist sermons has the moral judgment to become our next President? And his association with known undesirables is alarming! I could care less the color of his skin. In fact, I had an open mind on Obama when he announced he was running for the presidency. What a major disappointment he has turned out to be! Obama says anyone is better than Bush. I don’t agree. But, I state without reservation McCain or Hillary MUST defeat this man’s quest to become the President of the United States of America! WAKE UP VOTERS!

Comment by Paul

Pamela and Greg, In my view, Bush does not have the character or steadfastness you suggest. He just can’t admit he made a mistake. There where no terrorists in Iraq. There are now though. And the whole misguided approach to fighting Islamic extremism is creating a bigger problem every day - he does not even understand this is so. But better to carry on with that and lead the world to global religious Armageddon than let anyone have the time or interest to catch on to what the real agenda is at home I suppose.

The fear mongering, hate mongering, narrow mindedness, character assassination etc.works fine for keeping the populace focused on anything but the emporer and company with no clothes. There is even a sense that history can be covered up and “written” to suit intended purposes (sounds like some other kind of government system that is decried in the free world - no?).

I think Obama will win the leadership of the party and the election. American people in the collective are smarter than to believe much of the nonsense that is being posted here and elsewhere on sites like this. The truth and underlying strength of character that is Obama will be clear to most. To say Obama is not experienced, well neither is Clinton nor was JFK any more experienced or prepared. Bush was not experienced either, but that is not the rason for his failures. This is from the way he thinks (or perhaps does not) and from his character.

Obama has a strong moral compass (not the hyped “values” and “religion” that has been used so divisively by the old politicians) and a vision. That is what America needs today. That is what the world needs too. I think Americans have the courage to vote for dramatic leadership and directional changes that will mobilize the entire nation for the people. I think they can see that empowering leaders who want power only for personal reasons rather than for furthering the greater good, is too costly.

While I have nothing to say about the character of John McCain, I think he is a good person; however, do you really thing he will do anything about the taxes on the rich? His wife is loaded.

The war has almost bankrupt this country and for what - this is a war that we can’t win. We are trying to police a country that has been fighting since before Christ. We are trying to tell them how they must thing that they must have a democracy; but yet we say here in the states you have the right to choose rather to be a democrat, republican or liberal.

We have Veterans who don’t have healthcare or homes. We have children who go to bed hungry everynight those same children have no health care and many no education.

Our middle class America is suffering under the hands of George Bush. Those same middle class Americans that Obama looks down his nose at.

I can’t go along with John McCain on the war because number one, it was a lie and number two we can’t afford to loose any more American lifes and that doesn’t even mention the fact that we can’t financially afford it.

As Americans we should want to strenghten out on country. Our country is like a wounded vet who we are not taking care of. We are bleeding and we aren’t so much as getting a bandaide under the current adminstration. American is a beautiful nation with caring, handworking people, some of which may hunt and hold onto their religiion to strenghten their soles and hearts but we care about our country and our fellow Americans.

We should bring our troops home, strenghten our home forces and defenses. We should bromg our troops home and take care of our VETS.

We should take that money that we spending on the war and strenghten our education and our healthcare.

We need to start turning this nation into a GREEN nation and resolve some of our fuel issues. We need to set caps on things so these large corporations and the Dick Cheneys of our nations can’t provide on the hardship of our hardworking Americans.

I don’t agree with John McCain’s politics but I do think he is a good man that could perhaps work across the line and as Americans we should be on our Senators and Congressmans’s asses to make sure things are done right. It is time, we, as Americans, take back our government and don’t leave it in the hands of a Geoge Bush.

Obama will not get my vote, he is a racist, nut-case. I would consider McCain; but I will not allow the free ride that George Bush has been given because we as Americans didn’t stay on top of our political forces.

We can blame democrats, we can blame republicans - WE CAN REALLY BLAME GEORGE BUSH, but we have to accept some of the responsibility for not saying, NO GEORGE BUSH, we are AMERICA and you can’t do that.

The Presidency is a job that is filled for a limited time - this job is suppose to be under the governship of the American people.

We need to stop complaining and start taking responsibility.

There are so many of you that agree that Obama is a joke and maybe Hillary isn’t the answer but when you cast that vote no matter who wins - keep in contact with your Senators and Congressman.

PAUL,

And what planet were you born on? Obama is nothing but a hypocritical bigget and you can include his wife in that as well. They don’t care about anything or anyone but themselves. All they want is to be the first black couple in the white house (to make history), and then they will take care of their own. You have to remember that this wonderful church they go to believe in taking their own and only them. That is the preaching of the hypocritical Rev. Wright that puts rich white people down but is going to be living in a 1.6 million dollar home in a very predominant white neighberhood. Imagine that?

Pam great job. You tell them like it is.
You too, Greg

They cant admit you are right so they call you names, what else can they say.

Obama should not complain about McCain, If Obama was half the man that McCain is he would be more than lucky.

The only reason that the debt was so little when Clinton was President was because he had cut our military and other vital programs. What a bunch of no brain people.

The only reason we went to war was that Bill Clinton didn’t do his job in recognizing Bin Laden and get rid of him. Just like the Dems to cause us more harm than good. For as long as I can remember the Dems have tricked the Black people of America into voting for them, in all these years I have never seen one good thing that came from those promises. Very good at handouts that is for sure. Everybody doesn’t need something for nothing.
Get a job!!! Then get a better life.!!!!!Like most 90 percent of the people have to do in this country.

Are you folks bonkers? Obama said the truth. Again. I guess the American electorate isn’t used to it - they want stuff to be glossed over, delivered with a smile and a pretty picture, the way that Hillary and the typical politicians usually do.

Obama doesn’t. No matter how much the usual “glossy, nice answer” would help him out. Yes, the small-town folks are super bitter, yes, McCain would be better than Bush. Truth stings, but, it’s the Truth. Sorry.

I hope the fact that he’s speaking the truth won’t stop this country (well, it includes the few folks above, that sadly have the same power of one voice that I do) from electing him. I really hope so.

P.S. Hehe. I pre-PG-rated this post. If it wasn’t moderated, it’d be way more fun.

David Horowitz:

While Democrats complain that the war in Iraq is a distraction, the enemy has explicitly said that Iraq is the central battleground of their crusade. The war we are facing is made far more dangerous by the decision of Democrats such as Carter and Gore to fracture a bipartisan unity and launch an offensive directed at their own government and commander-in-chief. Democrats have misrepresened the waras “neoconservative” contrivnce, while suppressing the facts that call for regime change in Iraq was first made by a Democratic administration, that authorization for the use of military force was supported….The war with Islamfofascism cannot be won if its religious roots are denied or its global reach is ignored. It cannot be won if Americans deny themselves the means necessary to fight the war-whether these involve strategies to strike first, or to spy on our enemies before they attack us,or to deny terrorists the rights of American citizens-therby turning the Constitution into a suicide pact. It cannot be won if we allow a disloyal and hostile left to dictate the parameters of our political debate

Hillary released these very strong ads today, responding to the recent flurry of negative attacks from the Obama campaign.

Hillary in York, PA today:

“I just heard that my opponent has put up an ad attacking my health care plan, which is kind of curious, because my plan covers everybody and his leaves out 15 million people – just leaves them out in the cold.

“Now, instead of attacking the problem, he chooses to attack my solution.

“I don’t think that we can just make speeches about this – we have to have a plan that we can actually implement that will provide quality affordable health care. That’s what I’ve been fighting for for 15 years, and that’s what I will fight for as your president.”

Comment by LLS

I have been a registered Democrat for all of my adult life. I have typically voted for the Democrats - primarily because of what I do for a living and the fact that when services are cut for those in our society in the greatest need (generally the mentally ill and the elderly), I am the one who sees the damage incurred firsthand.

I am not a fan of huge federal government. I do not generally support ideology of warfare unless there is a clear and present danger to American citizens. I believe our Constitution/Bill of Rights was written by brilliant men who had a better grasp on the future 200+ years ago than many people have today. I don’t support any willy-nilly tinkering with it. I don’t particularly care who marries whom. I don’t think I should have to bail out people who decided to throw the dice and live beyond their means and cannot afford their mortgages - and shame on the lending institutions who made such loans.

I work hard, pay my bills, obey the laws, care for the infirm (both mentally and physically). What little I am able to save for my retirement, I’d like not to have taxed to death.

I don’t inherently trust someone viewed as “inspirational” by the masses who cannot deliver much substance on how he plans to change the world. It smacks a little too much of Jones-passing-out-Kool-Aid to me. Hillary embellished some things… probably more than we know. But she has not faltered when the “substance” of her plan was put forth.

How does Obama plan to change Washington DC? Has he forgotten about hundreds of other elected officials there who have a little say in what happens? Or is this just phase one in a plan to strip the other branches of government of their authority? Why can’t he say how he plans to implement this sweeping change? And thank you, but no. I’ve never been a fan of Kool-Aid, so I’ll pass on that cup being offered.

I decided long ago that I would be a Democrat voting conscience (not a tepid party line) this election term. My conscience and my common sense and my pragmatism tells me that based on everything I’ve seen over the past 15 months, the only candidate that I believe will truly protect what I love about America, will help us put our noses to the grindstone and fix what is wrong in this country right now without inflicting additional horrors on the rest of the world, is John McCain. It frightens me, thinking of my future, the future of a nation I love dearly, to think that either Democratic candidate will take up residence in the White House next January. I wish people would wake up and see reality. I am not anti-hope. I’m pragmatic though, and pretty words and inspiring speeches don’t equate an actionable plan. I don’t think Americans are willing to do the work that needs to be done in order to fix what is broken. Instead, they’re drinking the Kool-Aid and getting ready to follow the Head Lemming right over the cliff.

_______________________________________________________________________

Actually, the numbers are at 96% of the black voters blindly vote for Obama because he is black. Greg, good post. You are correct and this same point I bring up to my black friends all of the time that black Americans are the most racist group within the United States and at first they reject this idea and then, think about, and agree with me.

And because of this fact, there is nothing any non-black candidate will ever be able to do or to say to convince the black voters from voting for any cadidate who is not black in the event a black candidate is running.

However the good news is that the black population in the US is about 10% as there are 38 million blacks in the US and allot of them do not vote at all and they do not have enough numbers to pull a victory one way or another. In others words, the black vote in the US is overrated and ineffective. And this is why any non-black candidate shouldn’t have to worry about what the blacks think or feel during a campaign because this is not a vote which is going to sink a campaign in the event that they do not get the black vote as their numbers are too small and this is why any candidate who is running a campaign needs to understand not to worry about the black’s racist views such as old time slavery and reparations….affirmative action, higher quotas…etc…etc… nor should any non-black candidate worry about reprocussions from the likes of the Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and the black Islam Nation.

economic package falls far short to stimulate economy, association with Bush years another
foreign policy strategy is unclear, what direction-war is unpopular he wants to stay
his age (health records still be released) and his temper can become a liability
if one talks about associations or friends he has same problems
experience issue doesnt seem to make much difference for voters, see Hillary she tried that
doesn’t have a narrative in campaign yet
fliop-flop on major issues like tax cut
good; centrist, pragmatic, across party lines

To: Make Iran Glow,

You made some very good facts in regards to racism, sad but true. But I just wanted to tell you that the way you made your points compliments you as a person. You made your point but did not offend anyone, at least I see it that way. Thank you.

Cathy When Sen. Kerry ran for office his wife got the same treatment, so in end she released some papers. For transparency to voters, how much they had advantage of tax cuts, is there a overlap in her business dealings and his poltical interests.

Arie, questions for you. You talk about McCain and his tempe, that it would make him a bad president. First, we are all human, we all have a temper at some time or another corect? So, If you are a parent with a temper, does that now make you a bad parent?

Comment by Cathy

Arie, that’s exactly why they have a prenup, so that crap like this would be avoided. Her money is hers and does not cross into his political arena.

Cathy
why do you like to vote for Mccain? havent made my mind up, but his proposals fall far short to revive economy, and his stand on Middle east disagree
seems some folks only choose him because of their dislike of someone else, think thats wrong, than you better dont vote all, if you cant articulate the positive reasons for his presidency

Wrong. Kerry got treatment of Rep. party that she wanted things keep private, so this will pander out at some point, and lets face it doesnt give a good impression if you dont at some point

All you Hillary supporters need to read what Camille Paglia says about Hillary.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2008/04/19/wuspols219.xml

Maybe then you’ll give it up. But I doubt it as you all sound very ignorant!!!

—————————————————————————————————————–

Paglia? You have got to be kidding me…people still read her? ROFL! She’s a freaking nutcase. I won’t get into her so-called philosophy, but let’s just say it’s all based on sex, the act not the gender. For example, she defends man-boy love in her book “Sexual Personae.” Or do you agree with that?

Comment by Cathy

Sonia, I was trying to give Obama the benefit of the doubt but when his finger pops up more than once then you can start wondering. Does he have a problem with his usual pointer finger? Smile

Comment by Cathy

Arie, if I am not mistaken, Kerry and his wife have no prenup agreement. I could be wrong but I don’t think so.

YO JIM TAKE THAT.

McCain: A Question of Temperament

By his own admission he had his whole life a problem with that, can be an asset but can be major liability in high offfice

I’ll take someone in our white house with a temper rather than someone who associates with anti-american, anti-white people ANY day.

Arie, so the question was, if you are a parent and you have a temper, does that make you a bad parent?

Debbie, thank you for your good comment in regards to temper issue!!!

This election I am voting for McCAin but I have never voted by party lines, I vote by who I feel is best for our country. I do hope that Hillary wins the dems nomination. Obama says he has all this foreign experience because his relatives are from Kenya, funny thing, when his grandmother from Kenya came over here to visit with him he had to have a translator in order to communicate with his own family members, great experience huh.

John MacCain is pretty old. I heard that he’s sick. We are still wainting for his blood tests results.
He said he doesn’t know too much about economy and he would like to spend more money on Irak. He said that Bush economic strategy was OK. Last but not least… he likes illegal immigrants and he wants a path to legalize them.

OMG

Arie, I am ex-military myself and I know what it means to serve our country. McCain is a war hero and I can trust him when it comes to this war. Regardless wether we like us being in a war or not, we are there and if we leave the people over there would be slaughtered. Is that what you want? I really don’t think so. I came from another country, got my citizenship and thanked my new homeland by serving.

Comment by arie

That kind of guilt by association is ill-founded and just plain dumb to base a measure a person.
mccain has same problems with Hagee who is ant-catholic, doesnt make Mccain one too
not sure who is now rascist or anti american, but probably you refer to Rev Wright, he is not running for president and neither is Hagee, or Bob Allen who was campaign leader in Florida for Mccain and was arrested for solliciting prostitution. Its all a bit far fethced these stories of associations since you can make stories about anyone.
