Hillary Says Obama’s Wrong — McCain Not Better than Bush

Hillary Clinton took aim today at Barack Obama’s assertion that anyone would be a better president than George Bush — including John McCain. In Johnstown, PA, Clinton said McCain is just more of the same — and the Democrats should be ready to fight him, not praise him.

“Senator Obama said today that John McCain would be better for the country than George Bush,” she said. “Senator McCain is a real American patriot who has served our country with distinction. But Senator McCain would follow the same failed policies that have been so wrong for our country in the last 7 years.”

Bashing McCain for wanting to keep troops in Iraq for 100 years and failing to come up with a plan to end the home foreclosure crisis, Clinton asked “is that better than George Bush?”

“We need a nominee who will take on John McCain, not cheer on John McCain, and I will be that nominee.”

UPDATE: Obama campaign spokesman Tommy Vietor responds, “For someone who agreed with John McCain on voting for war in Iraq, agreed with him on supporting trade agreements like NAFTA and special trade privileges for China, and agrees with him on taking money from Washington lobbyists, Hillary Clinton’s latest attack is ridiculous even for her standards, and we’re confident the people of Pennsylvania will see right through it.”

Sen. Clinton is either delirous or demented–This is the same lady who said that her and Mccain is best suited for the 3:00 a.m. call and her husband was all over the state giving praise to McCain and saying that he ans she is good friends and the list goes on–I see why she will never make it to the White house because she really cannot be trusted and she lies a lot.

Comment by sjp

oh my god, what is wrong with hillary? is this what desperation does to you. obama made the statement that anyone would be better than bush, anyone here want to argue that? she has learned one lesson in her years of experience and that is negativity. anyone here want to argue over how long it would take her to offend congress, military or the public if she did get elected. i would give her 15 months. the shine has been off of her campaign for months now, the only weapon she or her campaign has left is to drag obama down to their level. please pennsylvanian democrats end this nightmare called hillary.

Comment by Debbie

Ouch….wish Hillary wouldn’t slam the Republicans just yet….Most Republicans are pulling for her to get the nomination due to Obama’s anti-american personality and they have been sticking up for her. May not be a good idea for her to do that “just yet”.

The Old Guard Democrat Elitists!

Will some white Democrats not vote for Obama due to his race? Say it isn”t so!!

“Gov. Ed Rendell, one of Hillary Rodham Clinton’’s most visible supporters, said some white Pennsylvanians are likely to vote against her rival Barack Obama because he is black”.

“You’ve got conservative whites here, and I think there are some whites who are probably not ready to vote for an African-American candidate”.

If I’m not mistaken only Democrats can vote in the Democrat primary. So is Rendell admitting that there are white Democrats that won’t vote for Barrack Obama due to his race? That’s an interesting claim. I wonder what does Rendell thinks about blacks that support Obama because he is black and won’t vote for Hillary because she is white. More then likely Rendell would squirm like a worm on a hook if asked that question. Are the white men that are support Hillary Clinton racists? So Rendell is admitting that there are not only racist white Democrats but also racist black Democrats. It seems it goes further then that as well. Ed has also admitted that no all racist live in southern states, but they also live in northern states. Ed also exposed the illusion that all conservatives are registered Republicans. Everything Rendell has mentioned is common knowledge among people willing to do the research and use common sense.

Wow, if that isn’t the height of hypocrisy coming from the Clinton’s. Hillary herself heaped high praise on McCain a little over a month ago:

http://www.thecarpetbaggerreport.com/archives/14809.html

Bill Clinton jumped on that bandwagon as well:
http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/Bill_Clinton_McCain/2008/03/28/83821.html

I’m seriously starting to wonder if they both are suffering from Alzheimers.

Comment by Tim

Oh, boy, ignorance never rest! Or should I say the hypocrites never rest!

Hillary Clinton continues to show Americans that don’t have their head up their rectum why she is such a hypocrite.

She has the nerve to criticise Obama for saying John McCain would be better than George Bush and then make the statement that the democratic party needs a nominee that will take on John McCain and not praise him…..what the @#$#!!

This is the same person that said she and McCain are ready to be President but NOT Barack Obama!!! She praised McCain and in the same breath criticise Obama a fellow democrat!!!!

Obama on the other hand gave her and John McCain credit for being better than Bush and she have the nerve to throw stones at him. This woman is either senile or just one of the worst hypocrites I have ever seen.

With only minor policy differences between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, the extended Democratic Primary race has devolved into nasty personal attacks, hurting our chances of winning in November. The candidates’ negatives are up. Polls show the Democrats’ advantages are disappearing against John McCain’s continuation of Bush-Cheney fear mongering and failed economic principles. Petty arguments between the candidates are attempting to distract Pennsylvania voters from our real problems. Wednesday’s debate in Philadelphia was a perfect example, with at least half the debate spent bickering over old news and verbal gaffes before debating anything Pennsylvanians actually care about. John McCain was the debate’s big winner. We have a chance this Tuesday to stop John McCain’s free ride to the White House. We need to unite behind the frontrunner and refuse to allow this contest to go all the way to the convention. We can send a strong message that we will not be distracted. Not this time! Vote for Barack Obama on April 22nd.

Hillary, keep up the pressure. Bring it all up.
Obama has given you the the ammunition.
Don’t even go into details, just keep listing off his friends and supporters.
People will figure out the connections.
Wright, Rezko, Meeks, Farrakhan, New Black Panther, Hamas, Nation of Islam, Ayers, Dohrn, Weatherman Underground, Jane Fonda, Michelle, Auchi .
They all hate America. They are all Obama connections. He has already had to talk about these friends he surrounds himself with. Those are already out in public.
Ayers committed the bombings of our Pentagon, our Capitol building and a N.Y. police station!
In 2001,Ayers says he wished he had done more.
Obama says it happened 40 years ago when Obama was 8.
McVeigh bombed the Murrah building a long time ago also. If he had gotten off on a technicality, would he be hanging around with Obama today too? What a stupid argument that was!
Hillary, “You gotta want it”!
Obama gave you the finger, twice, publicly! Fight to win! You owe him nothing!

Hi Mel.
Thank you.
yes. I watched the debate.
Obama was so smug when Stephanopolous asked about Ayers and Dohrn.
Obama looked at him as if to say, “how dare you ask the golden child any real questions”!
He stumbled and played off his relationship with this known anti-American terrorist like it wasn’t our business.
There is more about Obama that is still not mainstream yet, like his relationship with his cousin Odinga. Obama campaigned for cousin Odinga last year while he was in Kenya.
You should look up this cousin.
Google Odinga, Obama. If I told you the stories, you wouldn’t believe me.
I’ll give you a hint, burning Christians alive and Sharia law.
Then search YouTube for Odinga, Dick Morris. Yes, Dick Morris, the biggest Clinton basher on the airwaves!

Comment by Eli

I am a Hillary supporter and have been since the nineties, so it is not proBama when I say that I agree McCain would be better than Bush. Any rational look at his record vs. Bush’s record would show this. But Obama was far and away the most vociferous in claiming that McCain was a Bush clone. All Hillary has ever said is that McCain wants to carry on Bush’s failed ideas, which is an argument that may be able to fly, at least in part. However she has never said that a McCain presidency would be a “third Bush term”, which Obama did claim all-of-the-sudden. You may say she’s just been cleverer to avoid those words, but that just goes to show how often Obama makes rookie mistakes. Always leave an opening for your words to be interpreted in different ways. Obama is usually good at that, which is why he’s gotten through more than a year of primary campaigning before we found out that he thinks people believe in guns and God and anti-immigration sentiments and anti-trade sentiments, although we had already had a hint of some of his real ideas from the words of his wife Michelle Obama, who has not only called America a “mean” country and said she was never proud of her citizenship (before hubby was doing well in the primary, of course), and now we pile on the Reverend Wright (who, ironically, is always wrong) and Bill Ayers and I think we begin to see that this man, who I once honestly and seriously thought of voting for is just another ultralib Dem who history has shown cannot win an election (McGovern, Humphrey, Mondale, Kerry, need I go on?). It is not that he necessarily agrees with all of these ideas of the people associated with him, although I’m sure that he shares more than he lets on of these beliefs, it is that he refuses to speak up when it’s another ultralib saying these things but can’t jump fast enough on the same types of comments when they come from anyone else. If Obama wins the nom, McCain wins the election. Hillary ‘08
