During the first of five campaign stops in Pennsylvania today, Clinton detailed tough challenges posed by the economy, China, and Iraq — and said she’s the candidate with the toughness to take them on.
“We have got to realize that our future really depends upon who the next president is,” she said outside a fire station in West Chester. “This is not a throwaway election. This is one of the most important elections we’ve ever faced.”
And in a high school gym in West Lawn, Clinton cast herself as a fighter, saying “the job of a leader is to bring people together to solve problems, but to understand that sometimes we have to fight to get the political will and the votes to make that happen.”
Her opponent, she implied, isn’t tough enough for that fight. Echoing language she used to bash Barack Obama for complaining about last week’s ABC debate yesterday, Clinton said the country needs someone “who can withstand the incredible pressures of a political campaign, which believe me, when you get into the general election, and when you get into the White House, the stresses and pressures of the general election and the job are overwhelming. And we know that we’ve got to have a president ready on day one to take charge.”
And in another barb directed at Obama’s reliance on rhetoric, she told the West Chester crowd “I don’t want to just show up and give one of these whoop-de-do speeches, and just kind of get everybody whipped up and those of you who are for me feel great, and try to convince some of you to be for me.” Instead, she said, “I want everybody thinking about what we want to do starting on Tuesday.”

And a message to Mrs. Clinton, who’s complaining about Mr. Obama’s toughness: To be tough does not mean to be an abusive liar that attacks a fellow candidate and deceives the voters. Being tough is having the willpower to remain within one’s objective and at the same time preseve one’s self-respect and respect to others, in spite of all the attacks.
Saturday began with Sen. Obama going door-to-door in the Mayfair neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia. “This reminds me of my days campaigning to be a state Senator,” Obama told Rep. Patrick Murphy as they encountered nearly a third of the homes with no one answering. “Only there was no media and there were more slammed doors.”

HuffPo Catches Hillary Dissing MoveOn
From the gigantic red letters and extremely unflattering photo of Hillary on the front page of Huffington Post today, you might have thought a security camera had caught her raiding the First National Bank of Scranton. But no. Turns out that a couple of months ago, she said a few things about certain liberal activists, particularly MoveOn, that were not entirely nice. Particularly about some tactics involved during the caucus contests.
Yep, thats all it is. On the audio, her voice is calm and her thoughts are quite reasonable. What a big load of nothing. And besides, as MoveOn does not exactly have a great reputation among the public at large, a Hillary vs MoveOn storyline might not be that bad. Personally, I think HuffPo might be in a bit of a panic that Hillary could win decisively in PA.

Two former New Jersey governors, Jim Florio and Brendan Byrne, endorsed Mrs. Clinton last year, but they were only selected to be their state’s add-on delegates Thursday….
Representative Betty Sutton of Ohio also came out in support of Mrs. Clinton. The district she represents is in northeastern Ohio.

The Clinton era from the 1990s was good for the economy and everyone was lifted as I recall. I’m just a couple months older than Obama and remember it well. Obama has made too many promises to avoid either raising taxes or increasing the debt. Hillary has a plan that balances. Younger votes should not be duped by Obama’s charm and lust for recognition.

In 1961, a young African-American man, after hearing President John F.
Kennedy’s challenge to, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but
what you can do for your country,” gave up his student deferment, left
college in Virginia and voluntarily joined the Marines.
In 1963, this man, having completed his two years of service in the
Marines, volunteered again to become a Navy corpsman. (They provide
medical assistance to the Marines as well as to Navy personnel.)
The man did so well in corpsman school that he was the valedictorian
and became a cardiopulmonary technician. Not surprisingly, he was assigned
to the Navy’s premier medical facility, Bethesda Naval Hospital, as a
member of the commander in chief’s medical team, and helped care for
President Lyndon B. Johnson after his 1966 surgery.
For his service on the team, which he left in 1967, the White House
awarded him three letters of commendation.
What is even more remarkable is that this man entered the Marines and
Navy not many years after the two branches began to become integrated.
While this young man was serving six years on active duty, Vice
President Dick Cheney, who was born the same year as the Marine/
sailor,received five deferments, four for being an undergraduate and graduate
student and one for being a prospective father.
Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, both five years younger
than the African-American youth, used their student deferments to stay in
college until 1968. Both then avoided going on active duty through
family connections.
Who is the real patriot? The young man who interrupted his studies to
serve his country for six years or our three political leaders who beat
the system? Are the patriots the people who actually sacrifice
something or those who merely talk about their love of the country?
After leaving the service of his country, the young African-American
finished his final year of college, entered the seminary, was ordained
as a minister, and eventually became pastor of a large church in one of

Obama insulted a long history and culture of actual humans beings that have every right to own weapons and praise god. Was Obama saying they would not like guns or God if they were not bitter at the government for leaving them out?
I’d like to know which part of the Peace & Prosperity era that the Clinton’s presided over that people did not like? Let’s face it that history is on the books and while obama drags it through the mud he is really just hurting himself. He should be so lucky to have Hilary as his president.

I never realized how dumb Obama was until the debate. If he is not given a prepared speech by his staff, he knows nothing. Everyone talks about how he has run an excellent campaign. He has a good campaign manager and a good speech writer, without them Obama is nothing. We see the true Obama in debates. He is a pitiful example of a candidate running for president. The only reason some of the people still believe in him is, he has taken so much of their money they are ashamed to admit they made a mistake. The more I see of his arrogant attitude the more I dislike him.

As much as 30% of Obama’s primary, and caucus votes are Republicans trying to choose the weakest democratic candidate for McCain to run against. These Republicans have been gaming the caucuses where it is easier to vote cheat. This is why Obama has not been able to win the BIG! states primaries. Even with Republican vote cheating help.
Hillary Clinton has been OUT MANNED! OUT GUNNED! and OUT SPENT! 4 and 5 to 1. Yet Obama has only been able to manage a very tenuous, and questionable tie with Hillary Clinton.
If Obama is the democratic nominee for the national election in November he will be slaughtered. Because the Republican vote cheating help will suddenly evaporate. The fact that Hillary is apparently the lessor of two evils (Hillary VS Obama) will mean little come the general election against McCain. This is not a real topic you are w worried about. Presidential pardons are not something new or different. Especially in the case you are discussing. That is both unrealistic and irresponsible at this stage. Not to mention that we will be slaughtered and disgraced. But hey it was all our fault right?
Hilary can mend fences and strike accords… she is a consummate diplomat and politician. She knows everyoe on a first name basis and can dial their number by heart. Our lady president in waiting has a proven record for anyone who takes the time to look and see. She can do the job.
The network that brings out the REST OF THE STORY will be the most watched, There is one net work that dont seem to be able to mention Obama enough. They thing they can cover up his lack of experince by putting His Name and trivial story on as much as possible. A record number of Pennsylvanians have registered to vote in the April 22 primary, according to the PA Department of State.
The agency today announced a final tally of 8,328,123 registered voters. That is a record for a state primary election. The overall record for any election remains the 2004 general election when 8,366,663 — or 38,540 more — Pennsylvanians were registered to vote.
“It is unprecedented for a primary election in Pennsylvania, and it is very exciting to see so many people want to participate in the electoral process,” Secretary of the Commonwealth Pedro A. Cortés said in a statement released by his office.
Since January, 218,923 new voters have registered. Of those, 152,775 registered Democratic and 40,195 registered Republican.
Also since January, 164,026 registered voters changed their affiliation to Democratic and 14,887 changed to Republican.
Geographically, the highest numbers of voter registration statistics came from Allegheny and Philadelphia counties; the lowest came from Forest and Cameron counties. By age group, the highest numbers of registered voters are between the ages of 45 and 54; the lowest are between 18 and 24 years old.
“When it comes to negative campaign tactics, Senator Obama has been a hypocrite from day one, decrying attack politics from one side of his mouth while he and his campaign wage a character assassination effort from the other,” Clinton spokesman Phil Singer added. “The juxtaposition of Senator Obama’s comments in the debate and the remarks made on his campaign conference call this afternoon prove the point.”

All those enemy combatants captured in Afganistan after 911 will all be released from Gitmo, and they will, with the help of ACLU etc. be suing the government of the United States. The liberal judges which obama appoints to the court will rule and order the US government to pay huge compensations to these “terrorists”.
What does it means? It will means that huge chunks of taxpayers money - our money - will be used to compensate these people. After these people get compensated, what do you think they will do?
The same applies for the issue illegal immigrantion. Obama will not pass or endorsed laws that will curb illegal immigration. The guy is FOR giving driving license to illegals. These are laws that pleases ACLU and all the FAR LET loons.

Yes Gitmo will need to end some time in the future, just like the Iraq war. The question is HOW?

Ari, Our newspapers published yesterday that it was a good year for registrations. However, it did not top the record of 2004. I think when Obama got here and started pushing the college students to register, the deadline for the primaries had expired.
It is so comical watching the hypocrisy of some people, especially media personalities. You all want Obama to denounce a guy (Rev. Wright) for his distasteful remarks about America, but you faint over the Pope and the whole Catholic Church even after the knowledge of thousands of kids being raped and molested for years under the leadership and guidance of these Catholic Priest. Why hasn’t anyone asked the candidates why don’t they denounce the Catholic Church? I’m sure fair-minded people would see the hypocrisy in blaming any one candidate for the actions of a group of people they may know, but would never agree with their deeds, as foolish, even if they choose to continue to be practicing Catholics. If you are a Catholic and you have passed judgement on Reverend Wright, tell me this. Why didn’t you get up and leave the Catholic Church or denounce it, after you learned of the widespread molestation of little boys that has been going on for years. Oh I know. This question makes me Anti-American or Anti-Catholic. Isn’t that the way you people play the hypocrisy game?
