Obama Criticizes ABC Debate, Senator Clinton’s Performance
At a town hall meeting in Raleigh, North Carolina, Barack Obama brought up last night’s debate to jeers from the pro-Obama crowd. ABC News was criticized by several, including the Washington Post, for a one-sided debate that advantaged Senator Clinton. “I will tell you it does not get much more fun than these debates. They are inspiring events,” he said with a grin and a hint of sarcasm.
“Last night I think we set a new record because it took us 45 minutes before we even started talking about a single issue that matters to the American people. Took us 45 min. 45 minutes before we heard about health care, 45 minutes before we heard about Iraq, 45 minutes before we heard about jobs, 45 minutes before we heard about gas prices. Now, I don’t blame Washington for this because that’s just how Washington is. They like stirring up controversy and they like playing gotcha games, and getting us to attack each other,” he said.
Just minutes after his campaign ended a conference call on how Senator Clinton has gone too negative over the past couple of weeks, Obama noted, “I have to say, Senator Clinton looked in her element. She was taking every opportunity to get a dig in there. Ya know? That’s alright. That’s her right. That’s her right to kind of twist the knife a little bit,” he said while making a twisting gesture with his hand.
He then scolded, “That’s the lesson that she learned when the Republicans were doing that same thing to her back in the 1990s, so I understand it, and when you’re running for the presidency then you’ve gotta expect it and ya know you’ve just gotta kinda let it, ya know..” As he trailed off, he brushed off his shoulders and laughed.
Obama later told the North Carolina crowd that the debate was good practice for the general election. “If the Republicans come at me I will come right back at them. You know – I’ll be honest with you – I’ll be honest with you – it’s a little harder to do with a fellow Democrat because you know I’m trying to you know, show some restraint. You know I won’t have this much restraint with the Republicans.”

It was a pointless debate. This is a pretty good example of what a debate on Fox would have looked like. Very little substance in the questions, just “what about this gaffe? What about that one”.
ABC did a pretty good job in managing to somehow one-up the Republican brown noses at Fox News.
Everyone tune into the O’Reilly Factor tonight. Bill O’Reilly is going to interview Republicans Karl Rove and Dick Morris about the debate.
Because there’s nothing more fair and balanced than 2 Republicans and no Democrats.
OF COURSE OBAMA WILL CRY FOUL!!!
NO ONE TO BLAME BUT HIMSELF FOR POOR PERFORMANCE!!!
IF YOU ARE REALLY “GOOD DARN POLITICIAN” WHY CRY FOUL???
Based on yesterday debate:
Obama Parasites cries FOUL!!!
These Obama Parasites can not accept the facts that HILLARY WON the debates…
These Obama Parasites can not accept the facts that OBAMA LOST the Debates…
These Obama Parasites can not accept the TRUTH about Obama’s in-experienced to lead…
These Obama Parasites can not accept the fact that CLINTON showed a far more expertise in
almost all subjects that has been asked about our Country’s problems…
These Obama Parasites need to accept the fact that Obama need more experience to be a
succesful Commander-in-chief and bring back a good economy in our country…
Obama can be a good VP???
But he needs to be trained by no less than President Hillary Clinton!
Vote Senator Hillary Clinton as President!!!
Good one Greg. I don’t know how Bill O’Reilly stays on the air.
I think H. Clinton has presidential skills. She did not win the debate - maybe tied at best because people don’t like to watch candidates attack each other on trivial issues. If one was pointing out differences in relevant issues like Iraq or immigration, I think it helps determine the better candidate, but not on issues like these. Total waste of time.
I wouldn’t vote for Clinton because I don’t want a sequel.
What happened to the time when presidential debates would focus on issues of national importance and a candidate’s potential policy on global issues??? I am SO sick of any and everything EXCEPT the issues most concerning U.S. citizens taking center stage in this election year!!!
We are in the middle of not 1 but 2 wars, we are in what many feel is a full blown recession, gasoline is fast approaching a record $4.00 a gallon, people are losing their homes and livelihoods in record numbers and instead of homework and college applications, the youth of today would rather film themselves assaulting each other for You Tube! But the issues most concerning ABC in a debate of 2 candidates for whom one could very possibly be the next leader of the free world is why one of them does not wear a flag lapel pin!!! Give me a break!!!
ABC should be ashamed of themselves for such a “tabloid-esque” showing on national TV. For the first hour, I thought I was watching TMZ!!! For me, ABC now stands for “Any-Body Care”???!
Dee
Dallas, Texas
This another reason why Obama will not win the general election against John McCain.
During an interview on WABC radio Sunday, top Hamas political adviser Ahmed Yousef said the terrorist group supports Obama’s foreign policy vision.
“We don’t mind–actually we like Mr. Obama. We hope he will (win) the election and I do believe he is like John Kennedy, great man with great principle, and he has a vision to change America to make it in a position to lead the world community but not with domination and arrogance,” Yousef said in response to a question about the group’s willingness to meet with either of the Democratic presidential candidates…”
Democrats WAKE-UP!!!
I wish the three of them could debate together, wouldn’t that be great! Too bad we’ll only see Obama and McCain at which point Obama will make McCain look sorry like the old fart he is.
ABC should be ashamed of themselves, this was not a debate about the issues, it was a witch hunt and Hillery will do anything, say anything to get elected, she doesn’t realize people want to hear about the issues, not dirty politicts, she did all this to impress the super deligates, well i HOPE THEY WERE IMPRESSED????
The reality is - DNC Elders (Leaders) don’t like another Clinton in the White House because of PRIDE!!!
They can not accept the fact that a lot of Americans have high Hopes with the Clintons to solve the problems our Country is facing right now, “And she is our best hopes to win the White House!
DNC Elders are grooming heavily Barrack Obama who is no chance at all to beat John Mccain.
Senator Clinton told People during the debate last night that “Obama” can win the election against McCain because she’s feeling the pressure from the traitors within the DNC leadership who wants Obama to be the standard bearer. Senator Clinton did this to solidify the Democratic electorate. But the truth is Obama has no chance in beating Johm McCain… No Experince is the very reason why McCain will beat him aside from some controversies involving some of his associates. Senator Clinton is willing to sacrifice her own nomination if that’s what “THESE TRAITORS” wants her to do just to unite the democrats.
Pennsylvaian Please vote and send a strong message to DNC Leadership to help Senator Hillary Clinton to clinch the nomination and be the Standard Bearer of our beloved DEMOCRATIC PARTY…Because she is our best chance who can beat handily John McCain.
Vote Senator Hillary Clinton as President!!!
The debate was a horrific example of journalism. However, it will be good experience for Obama in the general election as there will be similar attacks. Also, it will desensitize America to these topics. They will be sick of hearing about them as they are not germane to the issues that need to be addressed by the next president.
RJ, who cares if Hama’s likes Obama? He’s a very likable individual unlike Bush and McCain. Maybe if our enemies actually like us around the world we’ll get something accomplished and get off this so called war on terror BS the republicans are stuck on. It’s time to move on and mend fences you backward a$$.
Yo know, RJ, that kind of hateful diatribe really scares me. I’m a Hillary supporter, but something that really and frequently gets me re-thinking my position is some of the truly galvanizing and substanceless posts and comments by fellow supporters. I keep an eye on the Obama sites and campaign gatherings a bit, and things are not nearly so one-sides and - again, hateful - as I’m seeing around the Hillary campaign.
Hate and devisiveness is not what we need now, as a country and as a world. Please be more respectful, lest you drive away more followers instead of validating your position.
Rj,
America does not like Hillary Clinton, that is why she is losing the election. Don’t blame the “DNC elders.” She only got to where she is because of name recognition and her husband was president. McCain would have no problem mopping the floor with her. He is afraid of Obama. Obama can generate tons of $ and that is what it takes to win elections.
I keep hearing that Senator Obama doesn’t have the experience to be president, well lets look at Rumsfeld and Cheny and Bush, over a hundred years of experience, collectively and look at the mess we are in here in our economy and the world. GIVE ME SOMEONE WHO IS INTELLIGENT WITH SOUND JUDGEMENT FOR A CHANGE!!! A REAL CHANGE, NOT CLINTON AGAIN PLEASE!!!!
Hillary won .. by far. Give a score each round of questions. Ask.. Did they answer the question. Each round Hillary had Barack. I only gave Barack one good round, the rest went to Hillary, with a few ties.
Hillary won the debate, and even Barack is saying so by his protest about ABC.
Wake up to scrutiny, something Hillary Clinton has taken for over 16 years. Obama should quit
his whining!!!! Here is the video and proves he lied to all of us last night about the questionaire!
http://youtube.com/watch?v=NxYmkjuTdDc
Bob and Jan,
That wasn’t a debate. The first half consisted of the moderators attacking the candidates and their responses. A debate consists of dialog between the two candidates with very little input from the moderators. This did not happen last night and that is why people are upset with ABC.
Actually, Obama’s face and mouth was on the air for almost the whole earlier part of the debate, they kept apologizing to Hillary for how long Obama was talking. The sore loser strikes again!!
He is blaming Hillary and ABC because he couldn’t answer the questions because he can’t take responsibility for his own actions, his own statements, his own associations with less than honorable people. He was stammering and stuttering too. I’ve never heard him do that before. Wait till the Republicans and Karl Rove get a hold of him.
I’m tired of hearing about how Obama doesn’t have the experience, well lets look at Chaney and Rumsfeld & Bush, over 100yrs of collective experience and look what fruits that brought this country!!! Give someone who is intelligent with leadership and judgement!!! that does not include Hillery!!!
I love spinmaster Candyman trying to threaten that he will do better against the Republican candidate if he gets a chance by showing no “restraint”. Well, as a conservative looking from the outside in and not caring which Democrat gets the nomination to run, I have to say that Obama should feel quite embarassed that he had his a#s handed to him last night by Hillary.
I think all night in bed Obama was rolling over with his eyes looking up to the ceiling licking his wounds like a banged up racoon after getting hit by a truck.
The black Messiah isn’t such a messiah any longer since his cracks are beginning to show.
I love you people who have praised the other networks when they were so biased against Senator Clinton in the former debates and now that ABC has done the same thing to your candidate, you call foul. I saw very little of the debate last night but what I did see, I thought the questions were tough (for both of them) and I certainly feel that when Senator Clinton speaks you can at least think back on what she said and it has substance. I tried listening to Obama speak in Raleigh, NC today and I can’t get one thought or idea of what he says. He says the American want to hear this, this and this and you hear all the chanting in the background but he never says HOW he will do anything. This is true of EVERY speech or debate I have seen him in. He’s empty suit - face it. AMERICA be careful, be very careful before you vote this person into the White House. I am a senior citizen, life long democrat but will not vote democratic this year if Obama gets the nomination.
Winning a debate doesn’t mean it makes you a good president. She couldn’t even look the camera in the eye. Body language people.
Obama showed he would not be a good Commander in Chief which is what the Presidents job is.
All the rest of the stuff is the congresses business.
I gotta go read Real Clear Politics and see what the people that are in the know have to say.
O’Reilly and Morris are not republicans. But they and Rove do know the people and how polictics work.
McCain 08
To Bob and Jan, Hillary didnt win anything. This was a mugging by George and Charlie. They set Hillary up for 45 minutes to open up attacks for her. The Editors and Producers at ABC should offer the American public an apology. By the way the polls I read indicate people believe 57% to 32% that Sen. Obama won.
Jim
You must be John McCain supporter for trying to paint Obama and make him more electable than Senator Hillary Clinton who can beat McCain based on the national polls.
You know the facts that Obama has no chance beating John McCain and you are one of those propagating for Obama to clinch the Democratic nomination so that McCain can win.
You are like your master Rush Limbaugh who wish to destroy the faith of Senator Clinton’s supporters by advocating the “Operation Chaos” to deceive her supporters that she is only winning because of this operation but the real sole purpose is to destroy Hillary and make Obama the Standard bearer of the Democrats.
You are too affraid that if Senator Hillary Clinton clinch the nomination your bet (GOP) will surely lose in this General Election…
A great munipulator that uses issues of America to dodge his very disturbing ties, Just might be lofty enough to win. It’s to bad that Obama is a great speaker, but I personally do not feel comfotable with this manipulation, which seems like he wants to talk about other issues besides his own.
Obama’s words today tell me he felt the pressure. He was noticably uncomfortable when associations were brought up.
Example: When Ayers was first mentioned, he deflected with “I was 8 at the time Ayers was bombing New York”. When his appearances with Ayers were then presented “Ayers is a guy in my neighbourhood”. Yes Senator that you appear with at fundraisers organised by your wife Michelle.
Example: He was told that lowering the capital gains tax increased revenue. Obama is proposing to raise the tax (after implying no new taxes). Obama when pressed as to why he’d raise it if revenue obviously goes up…had no answer, he just implied this time it would be different. He didn’t like not having a rehearsed answer for that.
Hurray for ABC. They did not cave to being influenced by “Liberal” media. We all know that the “conservative” media is one-side. So they could never execute a “Fair and Balanced” debate like ABC did.
Yes the Clintons have a background with the Weather Underground as well as Farrakan and Pastor Wright. Bill stood on a stage, shook hands with and thanked Farrakan for the good work he was doing with the Black community. Bill’s Pastor didn’t endorse Farakan, BIll himself did. BIll and Pastor Wright were at an event together and Bill shook hands with Rev. Wright and thanked him for his support during the Monica L. situation. All of these people are ok as long as they’re not associated with Obama. Sounds like a double standard here. Hillary put her foot in her own mouth and choked on it this time. That finger of hers turned right back around to point at her didn’t it.
Jim
YOU ARE NOT AMERICA! OK?
Many claim Obama is great because he will unite the country.
I am not seeing this.
Perhaps the EVIL fox news has blinded me.
What Obama is whinning again? Que horror!!
All he does is complain racism and complain this and that. He can’t handle the truth!!
Obama will finish destroying this country if he becomes the next president.
Kudos to ABC for finally exposing him for who he is. Shame on his supporters for expressing themselves so ridiculously… I didn’t see them whinning when Hillary was getting attacked.
Obama can’t handle it now and won’t be able to handle it then!
Dumb debate and it won’t change anything. Hillary was predictably negative and it’s not working. Time to turn the page, America. The Clintons represent the past & they don’t deserve your vote. She lost mine when she voted for the Iraq war. That was a test of integrity and she blew it to ingratiate herself with the so-called moderates, who hate the war too.
Obama 08
I read a comment by a conservative Rep. that said you could always tell who Hillary’s supporters were on the blogs. They always type in caps (meaning they are angry and obnoxious like she is)
and they never research their facts. They just open their mouths and whatever spews out that’s what you get. I agree with him.
Jim don’t be a big baby!
Who is the RADICAL Hard Left Liberal? Easy guess, right? That is the label that pins the tail on the Donkey. It won’t be hard for Republican’s to make that claim STICK. And they won’t need obama to wear it on his lapel for all to see.
Will that win our presidency?
Not likely anytime soon. And for good reason it is slanted toward one side of the fence which leaves out everyone else who does not agree with them.
When we talk about change as a gray area then it is ambiguous. No one knows what that means so it is easy to say yes. Once it begins to take shape and form as taxes, sharp cuts or painful realizations then a different kind of reality fills that gray space. That is when disappointment sets in.
Change is overrated. Anyone who says we need a lot or sweeping changes is obviously one of the media beneficiaries of all the obama campaign FLUSH money.
Look at the man behind the curtain. Where is all the new money really coming from? Just some odd Internet artifact or is there something – someone driving cash into the trough?
I’ve never seen money cluster in this size and shape without an artificial stimulant. In the dotcom boom no one wanted to see that the lines of cash did not connect with any substance or reality. When it came crashing down then the disappointments of that LACK set in.
A smart leader can make small corrections to the big machine that will have a net positive benefit. They don’t need to throw out everything and make wild claims that never really pan out.
We are still the worlds greatest super power. If people insist on BIG CHANGE then the radical change they employ will alter that forever.
At least Hilary can’t get caught with her pants down while someone is giving her something. But ALL men do at some point in time or another when they are idolized by hordes of groupies that fawn and faint over them.
No insult to Cindy but she certainly looks like a trophy wife. Not someone who would know how women work to support their families come hell or high water… Only one candidate knows how to work that kind of magic, Hilary. Its called hard work and determination. Women who don’t like her are afraid of her. She sets the bar higher for us. Women who want to lay around and have some guy take care of them want barack. He promises them what they want to hear even if he never returns their call. Its called fantasy.
Obama’s wife recently claimed that “we don’t know her” yeah, and so when we do what will we know? This is not a secure image of our first lady.
How will Obama’s wife shake out against Cindy?
Hilary is such an easy target. It is absurd for obama to say that his attacking a female opponent is going to be the same as coming up against the Republican’s.
Republican’s like the idea of torture, they stay up for it. It is part of their recreational activities. Obama has no substance, grit or wisdom. He is untested and un-vetted. He really is a question mark.
He only has superlative qualities to his adoring fan base. Do we really want a rock star for president? He doesn’t even play an instrument.
Too much Clinton and Bush already, this is not a Monarchy where we just reelect the same families over and over again. I’m dumbfound as to why the country isn’t ready to move forward with a new candidate and let the past go??? It is just strange, sad almost.
Obama will not leave us unchanged.

………………………………………………..
“People” are upset with ABC because two of their candidates were laid bare by their own associations and words. Both Hillary and Barack should indeed be made to explain themselves in the public forum the debate offered. Both looked snippy and foolish.
what?
She has always been the better debater, she doesnt doesn’t hesitate, or studder, and does not back down, I think abc thought she might give a little on the troop withdrawl, but not a chance, she stuck to her guns.
Way to go Annie
but it did seem like a bit of an attack fest, and I felt sorry for both of them, but BO blew it, he lied again and got caught.
that was a bad debate
I am sure it took almost one hour to get to substantive issues standing before NC crowd.
Obama is a joke. If I can recall, he didn’t talk about ISSUES before Iowa caucuses. All he talked was hope and change, and his so called “inspirational” stories. He spent month after month to talk about hope and change and personality, and now he’s whining about the ABC debate.
As we all know, media are biased as always. This is nothing about Washington, it’s all about corporate media. If Obama couldn’t handle media well enough and he kept ducking questions, he will be in hot water in the upcoming couple of months.
She only won because I let her.
Sounds like a 6th grader who just got embarrassed by a 4th grader.
Rj,
You are not sane. Polls show that America does not trust Hillary. Obama is tied or very nearly tied with McCain and Hillary is losing to McCain in every poll.
The ABC debate was, admittedly, not much of a debate but it is about time the Golden One had to simmer in some of the heat…God knows Hillary has taken much more than her share of lumps.
Obama SHOULD have to answer for his ‘mis-speaks.’ If he is to continue in this race and possibly be elected, he must learn to do a better job of phrasing his answers when he has to speak extemporaneously on a subject. He can’t go back and say he didn’t mean it that way if he mis-speaks to a foreign Head-of-State, now can he? Poor phrasing in a situation such as that might get us all in hot water!
His skeletons are just beginning to tumble out of the closet and if he continues in this race I’m sure there will be much more digging. He’d better get used to it!
Debbie, NJ,
He wrote in caps but you personally attacked him. You of all people coming from NJ know how it was here after 911, but you choose to support a man who’s “mentor” praised the attacks on 911 and has as a neighbor and “friend” a terrorist and someone who after 911 was quoted saying he wished he would have set more bombs… and who had a fund raiser at his house when he was running for the senate. I understand if you don’t like Hillary, but to support a man like Obama is really sad.
Senator Obama and his campaign have thrown dirt at Clinton for months. And Clinton has been subject to harsh focus in just about every debate, and given very biased press coverage. And all the while, she has stood up and kept her optimism and her focus. That’s leadership.
Rj…
Wow…
One would think that the comments made by Hamas political adviser Ahmed Yousef would taken as a good thing.
Dont you think its better that they are more willing to talk than kill??
If they are impressed by Obama then perhaps they will set aside their anger and work more towards peace. Doesnt that make more sense than continually pissing them off so there is never a chance for peace with people like this??
I would much rather have a President that our enemies admired even a little bit instead of one that they want assasinated.
Why did Senator Obama say these things last night? Why wait until the national camera is off to say what he did about Senator Clinton? Senator Obama….you sound bitter.

Debbie, you forgot to include that Hillary supporters are grammatically challenged. Carmen, for one, comes to mind. The reason is that they are ignorant just like Hillary.
If I ran for president you would not find…
1. I sat in a church listening to a racist for 20 years. Then gave the racist I called “like an uncle to me” over 20,000 bucks.
2. I had a slum lord help me buy my house.
3. Had an ex terrorist on my campaign.
4. Had a guy out there saying I gave BJ’s in a limo while buying cocain. ( Not saying this factual just that this is Larry Sinclair’s version of events and Obama denies it)
5. Had a wife writing papers at Harvard calling Americans “sloths” and “mean”.
6. Repeatedly having to answer to misspoken words showing my lack of respect for my fellow Americans.
NOBAMA!
This guy is a tool. He could say he is gonna take a dump on the White House lawn and his supporters would say “It’s change we can believe in.”
Give me a break. This guy is a lubricant for McCain to slide into the White House for 4 years.
It is becoming more and more apparent the disdain Obama and his wife have for their country and their fellow Americans…whom he wants to lead.
How many more “misspoken” words must be heard before people get the message… They don’t think much of us.
Hillary 08
Keep drinking the Obama kool aid Obamadrones.
“He and his wife have helped to legitimize the radical right wing argument that liberals “hate” America.”…
Why is it that Obama supporters always get personal?
Obama will help us put food on our family.
Hillary can turn this country around… Obama can bring it to the ground!!
“You know…you know…” I don’t know about you, but I do know the presidency is too important to just based on “hope”. I don’t think those are the “attacks” if you ever explain them clearly. For example, why does take so long for you to distance yourself from your Pastor.
I think people claiming Obama is ‘whining’ are confusing the word with ‘winning’. And by the way, when will Fox invite Hal Turner? Or Peter Paul? Or a delegation from Columbia? Or some of the people Bill Clinton pardoned? I’m sure they are being scheduled because this is the “Fair” news network right? LMAO

Democrats are emotionally fragile.
hillary showed she is the better one for prez. not that lying racest obama.
Rj,
I agree with you 100% that Hillary won the debat last night, but do you really believe that you will change the mind of any Obama supporter by calling them a Parasite? Get a grip.
Guess who?
I mispoke………………… again and my words were whisted around… (hint… Obama!)
At least Hillary had the “cojones” to say she lied about the sniper fires and apologize.
Obama is a coward!!!
you said it right, kitkat
As a Democrat I am still uncommited to a Presidential candidate. But I’d like to express my concern about those Democratic partisans that have chosen to attack other Democrats for the choice they have made between Hillary and Barak. At this point it appears that the most viscious attacks are against Obama supporters: calling them Obamabots, Obamaniacs, and today one particularly nasty epitaph: parasites. This is about as divisive and disgusting as the past attacks the Republican water-carriers in the media have made. If one of the Democratic candidates loses the upcoming election I am sure it will be partially the fault of the nastiness the followers of Mr. Obama and Ms. Clinton have shown one another. Please have some decency; your attacks are driving potential Democratic voters away.
RJ…..
You are a complete moron. You are a fine example of when blogs go bad. A total idiot with a keyboard and a stupid close minded view of reality. Please do the rest of us a favor and stop posting. Go ahead and call me what you like, but you will still be an idiot in the end.
The Obama & the Koolaid drinkers obviously hate the hard questions…lol. Obviously, we have no right to bring up comments he’s made, shady people he surrounds himself with, or even his general lack of leadership experience. How dare we? Look deeper into this guy and you see he’s not fit to be president.
Admittedly the debate was not much of a debate on issues, but it about time BO simmered in some heat. God Knows Hillary has…
BO MUST learn to speak extemporaneously on a subject and phrase his remarks correctly the first time so he does not have to continuously go back and ‘explain’ himself. Suppose he, as President, gives a ‘mangled’ answer to a foreign Head-of-State? Will he have a chance to go back and explain then? In a situation like that we could all find ourselves in hot water.
In addition, his skeleton are just now coming out of the closet and if he continues in this race, more digging will be done. He might as well get used to it…
If Obama wins the country will become:
The United States of African Americans!
And what’s up with Hamas’ endorsement? Apparently they are rooting for him.

Tel and Rj, you all are so far off base. I feel sorry for you. It sounds like you would not vote for a Black man, regardless. If this is truely the case you and your opinions are useless.

Obama has WOW appeal.
I am tired of the media both Liberal and Coservative trying to exercsie their influenced on the voters.
Even though ABC has been cosidered Liberal, I am thrilled that they appear to have not supported Obama, who is considered the Liberal candidate.
I still support Obama, NOT because MSNBC supports and really not because Fox news does not support him.
Obama is the only candidate that will get this country back on track to what our founders intended.
Our country was founded on the basis of religious freedom and where ALL men are created equal.
I think it is refreshing that Obama is not the same as usual candidate. If we are true to our founders, we would embrace Obama’s hope for a better America and not a stagnant America that thinks it can do no wrong. Everybody is subject to mistakes. Our country is subject to mistakes.
So when we make a mistake, like the war in Iraq, we should learn from that mistake and move forward.
obama is not going to get my vote… if, by so chance he wins…. in nov i will vote mccain, for sure…
he got busted last night when he said he disowned wright.
then lied about the rolling stones article and more

Jim,
I got personal becuase Debbie got personal… you should’ve checked with your pals first.
Ron, YOU just showed your true colors. YOU ARE THE RACIST! I just don’t get people like you. You are bad for this country!
You do not have to say anything about the debate, Mr Obama, you were pummelled by some irrelevant questions, but you stood firm and you did elegantly well. But the fact is that , you kind of stammered a little bit, you have to take tough questions , and and handle them with well crafted responses. You have to be ready for anything, because you are running for President. if you are the nominee, it will be tougher, so don’t get flummoxed with questions that you do not like. Be ready for anything, all you have to do, play around with words and then as your mind lights up, you get to the point. Hillary did not get angry, but she danced around with WORDS, many distortions and distractions until she summarizes something that she thinks is relevant. She is a good debater. However, your responses were well put and there is nothing to worry about. You were mostly POSITIVE, but she was too NEGATIVE. Who cares what FOX NEWS say, they are all a bunch of criminale, and Neo-cons…….
Bravo ABC keep up the good work!
HILLARY ‘08
Now is the time for people to change for Obooma.
abc done the best debate yet….
Bad ‘debate’, more like a quasy Prof. and intern trying to tackle candidates. Questions were legitimate but for far too long, and already repeated over and over.On the questions not very equally based, could have asked Hillary about Columbia trade deal and her advisor. Question of Ayers, not that familiar with it anyway, found crazy, something what happens 40 years ago, whats the point, next we are discussing primary school. After first hour a lot of people switched to more ‘interesting’ channels. Stupid from candidates to take the bait of no new taxes (under 200.000), also not a very good question in hindsight, at least obama explained himself better what his planned will be, in case scenario did not materialise. Hillary found evasive, too much referring to her husband presidency, no answer on Social security (we will figuere something out, if you haven’t by now, why are you running). Obama was not at his best, but did not hurt him, probably on the contrary since he he did not took initiative of ‘attacks’ and gave plausible, realistic answers. On economic he sounded more like old McCain (fiscal responsibility), and Hillary head in the sand and everything wil be ok. Overdid it with yes, yes, yes when asked if her oponent could be a the next president. She had to come out strong without sounding too negative, and dont think she pulled that off. On foreign policy found lacking questions about israel and Palestine, and not very strong outline of whats next in Iraq, but seems nobody has a clue. They could have asked about private security army in Iraq, included or excluded (probably excluded, so there will be at least up to 50.000 contracters to provide security). Big minus on moderators, maybe they are looking for a new jo at fox.
