Obama: “Elitist” Attack Part Of “Political Silly Season”

Barack Obama didn’t have to wait long at his first Town Hall in Pennsylvania since his “bitter” remarks came to light to hear about the issue from the locals. Obama was confronted with the controversy at this veterans’ forum in Washington, PA by the very first man he called on — who said Hillary Clinton’s charge that Obama is “elitist” sounded a bit like racism.

“As a white person, this term, the way it is being used against you, it isn’t far from uppity, ok?” the man told Obama angrily. “And I think the Clintons are getting away with something that they must be called on. They will continue to do it until somebody states, ‘Mrs Clinton, you’re really close to prejudice here. This is wrong.’”

Obama declined to attack Clinton overtly, denying that there were any racial overtones to the attack — but writing the whole affair off as part of “political silly-season.”

“This is what we do politically. When we start getting behind in races, then we start going on the attack,” he said. “These kinds of, you know, political attacks, they don’t solve the VA problems. They don’t put food on the table. They don’t bring jobs back to these communities.”

As for that elitism, Obama said just look at his upbringing. “I am amused about this notion of elitist, given that when you’re raised by a single mom, when you’re on food stamps for awhile when you were growing up. You went to school on scholarship,” he said. “So when somebody makes that argument, particularly given that I spent my entire life working with workers, low income communities to try to make people’s lives a little bit better, then that’s when you know we’re in political silly season.”

“Hopefully it’ll come to an end fairly soon and we can start focusing on the issues that the people of Pennsylvania and the American people care about.”

This guy wants to be our President and control our government. Pay close attention to the last comment!! Below are a few lines from Obama’s books ” his words:

From Dreams of My Father: “I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.”

From Dreams of My Father : “I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mothers race.”

From Dreams of My Father: “There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.”

From Dreams of My Father: ; “It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.”

From Dreams of My Father: “I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn’t speak to my own. It was into my father’s image, the black man, son of Africa , that I’d packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.”

From Audacity of Hope: “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”

To the TWW who are qouting OBAMA’s books out of context. You should read the entire books first. And I challenge you to not to come away inspired that they both are examples of an Honest American who embodies a realization of the American Dream. The first book itself qualifies as true American Classic. It will be read for generations to come. That being said, what is wrong with a little honesty about our true feelings at critical points in our lives, especially when they are contrasted with later points in our lives when we discovered just how misguided and misaligned those earlier feelings were. Are you reading the book or just searching for out of context quotes?

Obama can’t seem to get it right when it comes to a lot of people. When he uses words like “silly season” he is a high schooler. When he uses “big” words than he is arrogant. Don’t forget the man has gone way past high school, he graduated for one of the best schools in the country and don’t forget it! What is your education level? Right!

CLINTON CAMPAIGN DO SOME RESEARCH INTO THIS ALLIGATION AGAINST OBAMA REGARDING HIS INABILITY TO MAKE A DECISION REGARDING A NUCLEAR THREAT.

THEY ARE TRYING TO HIDE THIS STORY UNDER THE DUMB “HE SAID BOY” THING..

Kentucky Rep. Geoff Davis said that he had recently participated in a “highly classified, national

security simulation” with the Illinois senator Obama. “I’m going to tell you something: That boy’s

finger does not need to be on the button,” said Davis. “He could not make a decision in that

Obama, like all other politicians will say or do almost anything to get your vote. The difference is this man seems to surround himself with people who hate America. If you listen to him you will also find he’s not fond of white people. I think he is evil.

GO HILLARY !!!
I was silly in the 3rd grade - we are now electing the President of the United States!!!
Obama made the comments - and now is trying to “spin” it to look like it is Hillary/media - just like he did with the race speech - only this time we will not say - its OK . Stop trying to ram your opinions on others. Let the voters decide who is the best candidate - and stop trying to block the votes from FL & MI!

I think Barack Obama needs to come out with a commercial with the voters who support their president telling the truth on issues and not misspoke or straight tell a lie to the American people. While the out-right lie Hillary Clinton told barely made front page news at all. Now who is getting the short end of the media stick?

Obama recently made a remark in defense of his bitter comments that said “the Primary EXERCISE” and went onto defend his position.

The key word that caught my attention was EXERCISE.

Just like his use of SILLY in this article.

Come on Obama-maniacs, this guy is Harvard educated and he still thinks he is in school.

There is a term that is somewhat offensive but is applicable to Obama….”If you can’t DO, TEACH”.

Obama is living in the land of THEORY! Everything he says is THEORETICAL and not based upon EXPERIENCE.

Do you really want to elect a TEACHER as President of the United States??????

wow you people are amazing. How ELITIST of you. “Silly season” is a direct quote from a mid-state, PA blue collar voter saying she was tired of hearing about this and wanted to, instead, have them focus on real issues. Obama could say the sky was blue and you would filter it as racism to nature.

I just love Obama’s comments such as this last one: “when you’re on food stamps for awhile when you were growing up. You went to school on scholarship,” he said.”

He left out that the scholarship wasn’t because he had a 4.2 GPA in AP classes. He got a scholarship to Harvard because of University quotas and he happened to be half black…..enough to quality him for minority entry into the University, not by his merits, but by the color of his skin diametrically opposed to MLK’s speech.

To “typical white women”:

You’ve selected short quotes from a long book to prejudice those who haven’t read it.

I thought Dreams of My Father was a remarkably thoughtful book, written 13 years ago by a young Barack Obama, just out of law school and not yet in politics or public office.

I was impressed by his intelligence and honesty as he discussed his maturation from child to man. I was surprised to see how consistent Obama has been, as young man and candidate, in his understanding and empathy for people from many backgrounds.

That’s a good foundation for a public servant.

Obama was sorting out who he was - Black or White. Unless we are half black and half white, we don’t know what it is like to have to figure out who we really are. He said he was picked on in school. He knows ridicule. He said he saw things in his mother (white) that he didn’t agree with. The article I read recently said that his mother was intelligent, but selfish and didn’t have time for him. We don’t know much about his father other than where he lived, and that he was Muslim. According to Obama’s comments at the COMPASSION Forum on Faith and Politics, Obama said that he has seen kind, loving Muslim people who are trying to raise their families just as we work hard to raise ours. I think his broad racial background will make it easier for him to dialogue with other nations if he becomes president. That is something we really need to keep in mind if we want to earn our reputation back as a leader among nations. He explained that he is a devout Christian and believes that his faith has been a sustaining force in his life.

I don’t plan to vote for him, but I do feel he is more presidential than the Clintons for this particular time in history as the Clintons would have us repeat the ’90’s. To me that is going backwards. Sen Clinton has some good ideas (actually both candidate’s policies are similar) but she would implement them using the same people who part of her husband’s presidency - so I don’t see things moving forward.

It`s 8:00am in New York City. People are rushing around, moving through the city, on thir normal commute. Ten car bombs, all in cars parked streetside in the financial dristrict, go off at the same time. The blast itself, kills some 240 people. Glass and other flying objects, injure another three hundred. Rescue workers can`t even get to the scene, because the whole area is in such chaos. Meanwhile a report comes from Lambert Airport in St. Louis, that twelve flights have been reported as highjacked. All of the flights have split away from their original course. No one can say were they are headed. We have President Obama heading to his safe house along with top aides, and other personel. He gave a short statement before leaving the WHite House saying, “well it`s just the silly season with these terrorist you know what I mean?”

Why do Americans insist on getting idiots (e.g BUSH) into the white house, surely by choosing a representational democracy you want better people than yourself in power!

As for his comments, Obama was only pointing out that jobs matter more to people than guns & religion, guns wont feed your children or in the case of idiots that want to “make Iran glow” (seriously I mean does your tiny brain cell even understand that the world hates America because of idiots like you) pay for your FAUX “news” subscription.

Hell your opinion doesn’t even matter your clearly all from red states, America would be much better off if it just divided and left you guys in the 80s, were going into nam and building bigger nukes solved everything. I mean who needs jobs, when you could just use all the government money to go invade small countries!

————————————————————————————————————–

I disagree. I don’t think his up-bringing makes him any more qualified than anyone else. There are many many people with the same backgound, it doesn’t mean they are able to lead a country.

And as far as earning “our reputation back as a leader among nations”. Other countries do follow us. Oh sure, they criticize and complain, but when they want something they turn to us. How many countries rely on our aid? Just as people can’t go through life constantly worrying about what everyone thinks of them, a strong nation must simply do what it believes is best. It’s not a popularty contest. And the leader of the country must do what is best for his or her country, even if it sometimes means going against other people or their wishes.

As for undesrtanding others, that works both ways We constantly reach out to others, but how often are we slapped back? It is to our credit that we do continue to help others and to try to find a common ground, at the same time we are reviled and criticized. We don’t do what we do because we want to be a leader or loved. We do it because it’s what we believe is right.

Some quotes from PA voters (whose opinion matters more than the already-decideds on this board right now):

“It’s so difficult to watch every word,” said Mary Ellen Matunis, a Clinton backer from Shenandoah.
“I was not offended,” she said. “Poor choice of words, but I think it was just misspoken.”

“We’re getting in the silly season,” said Richardson, 33, a computer analyst. “It’s being overanalyzed.”

In Pottsville, a city south of Shenandoah that also thrived during the coal boom and is now known as the home of Yuengling beer, coffeehouse owner Mary Ann Price, 56, said she is undecided about which candidate will get her vote in the primary, but that Obama’s remarks won’t affect her decision. She said she is more concerned about U.S. standing in the international community.

Barack is just repeating what Democrat PA voters already mentioned - that is, let’s move beyond this BS. You want an elistist? Look up some quotes from John Adams. Now there was an awful president.

A PA voter mentions silly season yesterday and it’s fine. Meanwhile, Obama could say “the sky is blue” and you’d twist it into his racism against nature. You’ve already made up your mind - go ahead, keep talking in the echo chamber as the world moves on…

Keep on drinking that Obama Koolaid everybody and see where this man gets you. You thought George Bush was bad with hard times; just wait until OB gets into office, there will not be a country called USA left. Teflon Obama is not the man you think he is, he has many, many flaws, severe flaws that is hasn’t let out of the bag yet. Slowly but surely everyone will see the real Obama with the slip of the tongue he has a habit of doing; and he is not for the American people either. He is without a doubt the most arrogant, unpatriotic person I have ever seen. He thinks he knows it all and this kind of person is very dangerous for himself and all who associate with him. His associations with all these corrupt people help to form your beliefs and attitudes about different things. You do not associate with such people if you don’t have like beliefs, that includes his minister too. With Obama he will do and say what he has to obtain the power and the position he so greatly craves for himself. His money and power as a senator running for president has already gone to his head.
He talks about Hillary being born rich which she was not. He got scholarships to school, mainly because of his race being a minority. Hillary had to work and get loans to get her education because she was white. American people had better think before they vote whether they want a rookie and someone with experience that truly cares about helping our country improve who does it with heart. She has the knowledge to create solutions and implement them. This election our country has too much at stake with the economy, two wars, health care crisis, government deficit with borrowing money from China and Mexico, etc. to make the wrong choice.

Obama recently knocked back the Colombian trade agreement citing he has issues with the way unions are treated in that country. I don’t want a president making trade decisions on other peoples’ unions and whether he feels they’re treated nicely. I can’t understand why his opponents didn’t jump on that. Obama’s a death sentence to the economy.

Columbia is improving but this is more of kicking our biggest ally in South America for Chavez’s benefit, no wonder Chavez wants Obama as President, so he can bully his neighbors and instigate overthrows of governments.

Obama is rude and arrogant..his little Annie Oakly six shooter comment lets me know that his respect forwomen is ZERO…also when all 3 candidates were asked about the Carter issue McCain and Hillary both took a stance..but not Obama he just hovered and voted present…this effects national security he should be able to take a stance on a simple question..this man is not ready to be President and his hope speech is getting old it is always the same..

Well get used to good ideas around here as any and all good ideas come from the convervatives as no liberal thought, philosophy, writer, politician….etc…etc.. has ever offered society anything good and productive. Any and all good ideas and thoughts come from conservatives and not liberals. Its the liberals who try to borrow, beg and steal and suck from us what is good, honorable, and worth while in the World. The only thing liberals have offered up to the World is communism and 200 deaths which followed, hunger and starvation from their policies, teen pregnancy, divorce, broken families, poverty, hopelessness, and misery. I have a feeling that I left a few things out.
