McCain Hits Obama and Clinton on Promoting Protectionism

Today at his major economic address in Pittsburgh, Senator John McCain urged Congress to put the Colombian Free Trade Agreement to an up or down vote in the Senate. Both Senators Obama and Clinton do not support the trade agreement and McCain noted the two were not showing good leadership on this issue. Rather, McCain says they prefer that we “hide behind walls, bury our heads and industries in the sand, and hope we have enough left to live on while the world passes us by.”

McCain also got some additional mileage of Senator Obama’s “bitter” comments when discussing free trade. While much of the focus has been on the guns and religion part of Obama’s comment, the full quote also says those who are bitter cling to “anti-trade sentiment.”

“Senator Obama recently suggested that Americans are protectionist because they are bitter about being left behind in the global economy. Maybe that’s his excuse for embracing the false premises and promises of protectionism,” McCain said.

Watch it here:

So he is saying if musliums attack us again when polictics get ugly, he will stand with our attacker”s not with the American people.. Who in their right mind would vote for this deceiver???????????

He’s absolutely right.
We’re the primary economic catalyst for most of the planet. If we stop investing, creating, and distributing our nations wealth it will worsen the current economic situtation not just abroad but right here at home.

Everyone in this country who is working, saving, or has any investment of any kind will be affected by the Democrat’s lame-ass ideas that will stagnate our economy and make a bad situation much worse.

I would much rather have a so-called flip flopper than a socialist. Obama will ruin our economy, create a more unstable world, and make a mockery of the White House. I want a Gerald Ford, someone who can restore honor and faith on Pennsylvania Ave, after a not so likeable administration. McCain ‘08!

This guy wants to be our President and control our government. Pay close attention to the last comment!! Below are a few lines from Obama’s books ” his words:

From Dreams of My Father: “I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.”

From Dreams of My Father : “I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mothers race.”

From Dreams of My Father: “There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.”

From Dreams of My Father: ; “It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.”

From Dreams of My Father: “I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn’t speak to my own. It was into my father’s image, the black man, son of Africa , that I’d packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.”

From Audacity of Hope: “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”

This article is about John McCain and his economic polcies! Why can’t the comments reflect on this subject. I want to hear about what people think of John McCain and his economic polivies!

Everytime there a story on Fox news, whatever the subject, all I see are comments about Obama. Sometimes the story isn’t even about Obama and I would like to hear what you think of the article’s subject.

It’s starting to make me think that maybe Obama is right, there are some very bitter epople out there who are constantly arguing the case against Obama. That seems mighty strange to me, that the very people who can’t stand him or will not vote for him are constantly writing about him.

Talk about John McCain, this story is about him, not Obama. Come on people get a grip!

And Holly, to write out the fact that your a racist by reversing them 180 degrees to come from Obama is just sad. If you want the world to continue down the path its on vote McCain, if you want change put forward off uncertainty then pick Hillary. But if we want real positive change by a man who will demand respect from the world leaders just by the way he is then pick Obama! No one is perfect, but does a good job at coming close…

I am not a Hillary or Obama supporter, but the Democrats are going to have a real hard pitch at convention time making an argument to allow Obama get the nomination even if he has more delegates going into the convention. The reason why, is that Obama earned his status prior to all of the allegations of Reverand Wright, Rezko, Ayers, elitist comments, Michelle Obama’s comments…etc..etc…

If the primaries began from “SCRATCH” today, and all of the states who already had their primaries and caucuses, were to have it all over again, no one would hear about Obama ever again and this would be a race between Hillary and Edwards, not Obama. Obama wouldn’t get over single digits and these votes would merely be from a small voting block which are the black voters.

Therefore, the delegates need to consider the momentum factor and the fact that Obama did all of his damage to Hillary early on, and since Obama’s background has been exposed, Obama has slid and slid with America and now America has a new interpretation of Obama which they did not have two months ago. Now we know that the only people who will support Obama at this point in time with overwhelming numbers are the black voters, but cross-overs, independents and Veterans, who may have normally voted before Obama prior to Obama’s discusting revelations, will vote for McCain.

Therefore, the Democratic Party has allot to think about because, depsite Obama going into the convention with more alleged delegates, this still has no bearing on Obama’s ability to take the general election because he doesn’t have a shot…..and its only going to get far worse for Obama.

As a Conservative looking from the outside into the Democratic side, I have to say that the Democratic Party would have to be out of their minds to choose Obama to represent their ticket.

Comment by Bill W.

Obama got carried away during the closed door meeting and revealed his true self to be a condescending elitist. But that’s not all. He said regarding small town people: “they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them” Now he is backtracking and changing the word bitter to anger. OK, look at the last part of the above quote. Now he is saying they get angry and resort to bigotry. He has applied his mentor Wright’s behavior to small town people. How obtuse can a candidate for president be and still receive support from some people?

Comment by Make Iran Glow

I have to agree with Iran Glow on his comment. He makes perfect sense. The Superdelegates will really have to weight all things before casting their vote. If the democratic party chooses to put Obama on the ticket, then I am pretty sure that a very large percentage of democratic voters will vote for McCain in the general election. Then there is a possibility that Hillary will run on the independents ticket. If this is the case, she would take all her voters with her thus giving the November elections a real election.

It sounds like there are a lot of socialist views represented on this blog…..Government limiting the profits of corporations and CEOs. God, I love it. I think people realize that limiting pork barrel spending and decreasing corporate taxes are not going to get us to where we need to be. The reality is that we have to raise taxes while at the same time limiting government whereas those taxes go towards paying off our national debt as opposed to paying for new government programs. Folks, we are in trouble regardless of who we elect as president. If you think times are bad now, just wait. There are no easy answers to our problems and our politicians are telling us what we want to hear to get elected….ALL OF THEM. Our country has to make some hard decisions and take swift action to turn things around. Are problems are cultural and related to a “GET ALL I CAN WHILE I CAN” mentallity that is tearing the very fiber of this country apart. Nobody cares about the wellfare of the entire country….everybody cares about themselve.

I am one of those Hillary supporters who will vote ofr McCain. I will put America before the democratic party in any election. Obama does not represent America or the great people who make up this country.

The Obama’s are starting to believe the spin that is around them. Americans have been getting up and going to work long before these two decided that their “words were the only ones that mattered”

America First

Comment by Patricia

I am a Republican, but have concerns about McCain. I am not yet convinced that he “can do it.”
He is Washington, he is a Bush follower whether he admits it or not, he will have to work hard to present himself as presidential to me. He is trying to develop an economic plan that sounds like it could work. I don’t agree with his Iraq policy at this point in time. He says he doesn’t believe in mud slinging in a campaign, but has already gone back on that statement. Protectionism - give me a break. I’ll keep sorting things out as we go along.

I keep listening to the Democrats and their duo. I think the Clintons have gone too far on their attack of Obama because they know what he meant to say. They heard him clarify his words and still chose to put their slant on it. That will backfire. Their policies are almost identical, so it isn’t going to matter much who wins the nomination. They both have baggage they would take with them into the fall election. However, Obama seems to handle the pressure better. We will see.

………………………………………….

Make, I just checked Rasmussen polls, Hillary’s gone to 50% against Obama’s 41% approval rating. His “bitter” remarks are backfiring on him when he was making headway on her in PA. She needs double figures against him there and I won’t be surprised if she gets them (as long as she doesn’t visit Bosnia anytime soon).

Now take into account, this is democrat vs democrat. Obama’s going to have to deal with a rallied conserative voting base and a moderate/independent one if he gets the nomination and goes to a general election. Ohio has McCain well ahead, Florida..the numbers are resoundingly in favour of McCain (due in no small part to Dean’s poor handling).

You make a good case.

Obama is not mentioning the “guns, god and racism” part in his stumps since. He’s only pushing “bitterness and anger”. He’s trying to avoid it by appealling to people’s emotions. Bear in mind, he’s preaching to the converted anyway..it’s all at his rallies.

Yeah McCain….you’re right. Let’s keep shipping more jobs to other countries. We don’t need jobs here in the U.S. anyway. Working for a real living wage is such a drag anyway. I’d rather flip burgers or go to some foreign country and fight a war so that other countries can enjoy the “blessings” of democracy, even if they have to be killed in order to accept it. Right on Big John. You keep tellin’ em how it is; like up in Michigan where the jobs are gone and, according to you, there’s no way to get them back. People love messages like that.

Am.Women2 : Hillary and McCain don’t agree on very little. Obama and Hillary are more alike. The only difference is that Hillary has had her closet cleaned by the press. Obama still has a very large closet, maybe the size of Wrights new mansion, that is full of skeletons. McCain is not planning on raising taxes. If you think that he and Obama are similar in platform you need to research the issues. One is a moderate Republican that leans to the liberal side and one is a left wing liberal Socialist. However, I do not agree that the Dem. party will take the nomination from him even if they were scared he would lose in the general election. The blacks would revolt and never forgive the Dem. leadership and say that ‘White Gov’t’ took the nomination away from their ‘Black Messiah’. The Dems. can’t afford that. If he is projected to lose, they will just throw in the towel this year and hope to put someone up to capture the vote next year and hope for the best. Blacks are the loudest squeeky wheel in the American electorate and the Dem. leadership don’t want to have Jesse and Al starting riots.

Hillary also has a great chance to show up Obama’s weakness in foreign relations with this Carter/Hamas lovefest right now. Carter is a surrogate Obama right now (granted Obama said he wouldn’t be meeting with Hamas right now however). He’s putting the Obama theory to the test, no preconditions and talk to your enemies. If nothing substantive comes from Carter’s kisses and hugs (my money’s on rocket attacks into Israel), Hillary can pounce on it and say “you can’t go in without preconditions..here’s why”.

It’s a great opportunity to demonstrate her “foreign policy experience” over Obama’s (which is essentially, a trip to Pakistan and Kenya, a relative in Africa and an early childhood in Indonesia..impressive huh?).

Iraqi born Rezko is Obama’s friend of 17 years and a well known mob figure.

Rezko served on Obama’s U.S. Senate campaign finance committee and raised more than $14 million, according to Federal Election Commission records, helping send Obama to Washington in 2004.

The Chicago Sun Times reports ‘As a state senator, Barack Obama wrote letters to city and state officials supporting his political patron Tony Rezko’s successful bid to get more than $14M from taxpayers to build apartments’.

Obama told the Chicago Tribune that, in all the years he’s known Rezko, “I’ve never done any favors for him.”

Finally, the media is reporting and showing a timeline between Barack Obama and his anti-American friends. Murders such as Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn people that hate America yet wont leave and live in some other more wonderful democratic country. I wonder why not?
Despicable family, friends and associates Obama has the

Americans are so easily duped and they are being duped over and over again by Obama and his campaign handlers and the billionaires that hate America and want to see her ruin…
