Senator Barack Obama took a shot of a different kind at rival Hillary Clinton at a speech at a national manufacturing conference in Pittsburgh — mocking the New York Senator for drinking a shot of whiskey and a beer in front of television crews this weekend.
“Around election time, candidates, they just can’t do enough. They’ll promise you anything, give you a long list of proposals,” he said. “They’ll even come around, with TV crews in tow, and throw back a shot and a beer.”
“But if those same candidates are taking millions of dollars in contributions from the PACs and the lobbyists, ask yourself, who are they going to be toasting once the election is over?”
Obama neglected to mention his own TV drinking moment at Sharky’s Cafe in Latrobe, PA during his Pennsylvania bus tour — but it wasn’t forgotten by Clinton spokesman Phil Singer, who writes “with all due respect, this is the same politician who spent six days posing for cliched camera shots that included bowling gutterballs, walking around a sports bar, feeding a baby cow, and buying a ham at the Philly market.”
“Sen. Obama’s speeches won’t hide his condescending views of Americans living in small towns,” said Singer.
Obama dismissed attacks from both his rivals that he’s “out of touch” and “elitist” — pointing out that Senator Clinton and Senator McCain have both spent decades in Washington. It’s time to cut through the rhetoric and look at the reality,” he said. “I’m the only candidate in this race who doesn’t take money from corporate PACs and doesn’t take it from federal lobbyists, and I’m here to tell you that you can count on me to stand up for you in this election, just as I’ve been standing up for workers all of my life. That’s why I’m running for President of the United States of America.”
And he continued to hit Clinton on her support for trade deals, saying “you can have a debate about whether my position is wrong or right. But here’s what you can’t do. You can’t spend the better part of two decades campaigning for NAFTA and PNTR for China, and then come here to Pennsylvania, and tell the workers that you’ve been with them all along. That’s what you can’t do.”
“You can have a debate with me about whether I’m right or wrong, but what you can’t do is say you are opposed to the Colombia Trade deal, while your key strategist is working for the Colombian government to get the deal passed. That’s something you can’t do.”

Obama made another boo, boo. Why would he bring up Senator Clinton taking a shot and a beer when he himself was drinking beer when he was bowling in Pa. They even reported the brand of beer he was drinking. I heard it once and then it was not brought up again, but if we could go back and get those footages, you will hear them talk about the brand of beer he is drinking at the time. I believe it was the footage of him bending over the counter talking to a young lady behind the counter. What a hippocrit. At least she does it and doesn’t try to hide it. We would be shocked at what he does on the campaign trail if you could just follow him around a bit. You can tell by the way he acts, he thinks he’s God’s fit to women, when he’s actually of the devil.

You’re right about the silly finger-pointing, but that’s how campaigns work. They’re mostly surface mud-slinging and little substance.
I disagree that the comments had anything to do with a protracted campaign, particularly Obama’s comments about Midwest small towns. Those comments were made at a closed fund raiser and had to have been thought out ahead of time. They weren’t a gaffe. They were meant to appeal to the audience of wealthy Far Left supporters. They weren’t meant for public consumption as the media was barred from the event. For that reason they are important in revealing his supposed beliefs.
In Hillary’s case, the Clintons have exaggerated and stretched the truth for years so it comes as no surprise. It’s the story that grew until she got caught. Again, it’s important because it speaks to her character.

Well its getting hot in my neck of the woods. That means its almost time for the Fat Lady Round-up. What we do here is arrest all fat woman over 40 that insist on wearing tube tops and spandex. I agree with the forum member who suggested a “speech” on bitterness is now forthcoming. But it must have a lot of american flags behind and he must be surrounded by the very people he poked in the eye with is bitterness association. It will be controlled, well delivered and absolutely NO QUESTIONS AFTERWARDS. If he is the dem nominee…I can not wait until Big John shows him a thing or two. How more must these Obama supporters be shown to put a crack in their belief that he is not the “chosen one”…the “savior”. Just look at all that has come out in such a short period and the primaries are not even done yet. And those who support him do not believe he will bring all this baggage to the white house…me thinks you desire these associations there….the Wrights, Ayers, Dorns, the Black panthers, etc….the list goes on and on. Sen Obama really should have not said what he said at all. It just simply sounds bad. It displays ultimately what we have been dealing with. You know, if people want to jump in his corner and defend him, that’s fine, but defending a person for who they are really can only be proven by that person, not anyone else. There is speculation of former Pres Carter putting a plan in to have Hillary step aside in June. These kind of ideas are an exact example of what we don’t want. Call the race off? why , because maybe, just maybe, Hillary has just as much of a chance to win as Obama. Pres. Carter really does not have a foundation in this country as the media may think he has. Just look at the minutemen and Lou Dobb’s on CNN, and you will see how,in certain areas around this country people perceive things when times get hard. I believe we are known as the “fly-over” states. I guess they don’t realize that most of the military comes from the “fly-overs”, but I guess when you’re so frustrated with the government that you have to cling to your rifle and religion, serving in the military seems natural. Ironic so many of the “frustrated” have died defending the source of their frustration. It would be so much easier to just give thousands of dollars to the “Nuke a Whale for Jesus” foundation.
