Clinton slams Obama: “I don’t think he really gets it”

Pittsburgh, PA– Continuing her assault on her Democratic rival, Sen. Clinton said Monday that she doesn’t think Obama “really gets it that people are looking for a president who stands up for you and not looks down on you.”

While Obama’s criticism of Clinton to the American Association of Manufacturers conference earlier in the morning were particularly well received, Clinton received some cat calls and booing as she launched into what is becoming her daily rebuke of Obama’s “bitter” comments from last week.

“I understand my opponent came this morning and spent a lot of his time attacking me. Well, I know that many of you, like me, were disappointed by recent remarks that he made,” she said, receiving some shouts of “no” from the first few rows (commotion can be heard in video above). “I am well aware that at a fundraiser in San Francisco, he said some things that many people in Pennsylvania and beyond Pennsylvania have found offensive. He was explaining to a small group of his donors what people who live in small towns right here in Pennsylvania are like and why some of you aren’t voting for him. But instead of looking at himself, he blamed them…I don’t think he really gets it that people are looking for a president who stands up for you and not looks down on you.”

She also slammed Obama for not yet taking up her call for President Bush to boycott the Olympic opening ceremonies in Beijing as she discussed the importance of standing up to China.

“I’m still waiting for my Democratic opponent to give us a clear answer on the Olympics. He says he is of two minds,” Clinton said. “Well as a President you’ve got to be able to make up your mind and you’ve got to be able to stick with your decisions and if you can’t stand up to China over an opening ceremony, how are you going to stand up to China when it comes to trade.”

During a discussion of the need to preserve U.S. manufacturing, she took to merging the names of Sen. McCain and President Bush as she continues her argument that a victory by her potential Republican rival in November amounts to a third term for 43.

“We have a provision in the law that says we have to maintain our metals industry in America because its so instrumental to our national defense. President Bush and John McCain, I’ve taken to calling them McBush, have decided they don’t need that law anymore…and I’m gonna fight that,” she added.

One other well received line came at the top of her response to a question about whether Americans can trust her on trade given her husband’s support for NAFTA.

“Well as smart as my husband is, he does make mistakes,” she said to prolonged applause and laughter–enough to enable people to think it was not just a line about NAFTA.

Gov. Rendell: Media Biased Toward Obama

——————————————————————————–

Thank God we Hillary has supporters like Gov. Rendel, Nutter, and the Ohio Governor, Ferraro, Carlile. These are people w/guts, and a big heart, compared to the shallow, fake Obama supporters.

Quote:
He added: “The media has drunk the Kool-Aid with Obama … They have fallen in love with the message and the messenger…

“They don’t even pretend to be objective. The media dislike the Clintons and harbor a lot of resentments against them.”

This appeared in U.S. News & Wolrd Report under opinions:

In any case, Americans who don’t like the opportunities they have where they are can move elsewhere, and many have. What the census data tell us is that not many people have been moving out of Pennsylvania in this decade—there has been a lot less domestic outflow there than there has been from the coastal metropolises (like the San Francisco Bay Area), where there has been massive immigrant inflow, along with massive domestic outflow. What Obama is showing us here is not sensitivity to the deprivations of people in Pennsylvania—which he, as a native of multiracial Hawaii and a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, knows little about first hand—but a form of liberal snobbery, which, as I have written, has been part of American politics for more than 40 years. This attitude goes back even farther to Adlai Stevenson’s quip that if a majority of thinking people supported him, that would be enough because “I need a majority.” The new face from Illinois, articulate and attractive to many people, fell short of a majority. Will that be the fate of Obama, articulate and attractive to many people but condescendingly dismissive of many of the voters he needs to win? Let’s see.

Obama definitely doesn’t get it! He’s too arrogant to get it - he’s a lot like George Bush - he doesn’t admit that he’s wrong and he really hates to say “I’m sorry”.

If making $109m after leaving office, ducking imaginary sniper fire, taking $800,000 from the Colombians in private and speaking against the deal in public is what makes a good Blue Collar Democrat, then we have to Vote Clinton now. If downing whiskey, and drinking mugs of beer makes a good President, vote for Hillary.

If you need someone who has no clue on the economy, has no clue on who America is fighting in Iraq, if you need someone who thinks the down turn in the economy is our fault and we must bail out ourselves. Vote the Cyborg (Sen. McCain).

If growing up in a single home, living on food stamps, paying of huge students loans for years, working with the poor for over 20 years, generating interest in politics, making mistakes and apologizing, fighting for the American people, ending the war and fighting to improve America’s image abroad. Vote Obama now. He is in touch with the ordinary American and he knows what it takes to bring about the change we need in America.

Why don’t Fox News get real and stop the bickering between these two. It appears to me that Hillary starts bashing Obama but if he returns the fire, he is bad, bad, bad. This is a political campaign people. Let’s get to the issues and Fox News should stop reporting all this trivial crap. I know that Hillary has lied, and there are many more skeletons in the closet that hasn’t come out and probably won’t with the media we have today. i don’t know any lies that Obama has told, and McCain is just the same old Bushie tale we have had for 8 years. If you really want change then vote for Obama which he is something new, he can’t be as bad as Bush. If you want the same old politics then vote for Hillary (the liar) or McCain ( same old politician) but stop all the bashing of these people. Look at the issues and decide. has America come to this type of hate and name calling. I can’t wait for the primaries to be over and let’s get a nominee……

Just one guys take on it!

Obama was a very refreshing, exciting and uplifting alternative to what we had been presented with for sometime as choice candidates to lead our great nation.

What set him apart so much was that he seemed to not have any of the typical political baggage that we usually have to swallow and he seemed to really be able to relate to the people on both sides of many of the “hot” issues that have polarized us for some time now.

I am sad to say however that the bloom is off that rose now. No pin? Ok I can live without that. Rev Wrong? Harder to live with but I can c how folks would rationalize it - though I had difficulty doing so. High number of present votes? ok that is politics I guess… the latest comments? yes many of us - probably most of us are very concerned about many things particularly the state of the economy and the housing market and there are things we may be bitter about - but those comments … well they are more than the straw that is breaking the back of the camel - they are revealing in and of them self and added to the other stuff we now have officially entered BAGGAGE territory - questionable respect for American traditional values and we have now witnessed a display that is woefully short of that keen insight into the American “public” we were so attracted to.

The point is that good politicians tend to have people for them or people who are for someone else – polarizing politicians tend to have people for them and people against them. This was always an issue for Hillary Clinton, George Bush, John Kerry and others – Barack Obama did not seem to have any real ABO (anybody but Obama) issues as Hillary does and the reason that is so important is because AB (anyone but) factor is usually not issue based rather it is an emotional reflection of perceived flaws in the character and values of the candidate. For Democrats this is very significant, more so than in 2004. In 2004 there was strong Bush ABB which was a hedge or counter to equally strong ABK (anyone but Kerry) though the value issues was an added deficit.

The draw of Obama was how little if any ABO there was which would be a significant advantage in a race against McCain who has little if any ABM but will have to deal with some residual ABB, perhaps more so than some of the other Republicans would have had to if they would have been the nominee. Hillary VS McCain – McCain would have the big AB advantage while VS Obama, the advantage would have gone to Obama or there would have been no significant AB factor in the race. Imagine that! A race where people vote for the candidate they feel is best rather than vote against the other one – but I digress.

Unfortunately the aggregate of these issues have had a real effect on many voters most significantly the independents and the “Regan Democrats” with whom the ABO meter is trending up dramatically. The other effect that this could have is to awaken many of the core conservatives that might have stayed home or even voted against McCain. The prospects of manufacturing enough ABM sentiment as a hedge for Obama or Hillary is remote – McCain is an old dog that has been vetted in previous elections and is a legit hero who did not bring a camera crew with him to film his heroics. His vulnerability were the issues – the war – the economy – his age – his weakness within his own party – etc… these were and still are the targets where he could be attacked by a strong and relevant opponent.

A candidate with a high AB (anyone but ) rating going up against a candidate with little if any AB is in trouble – the analogy to Reagan / Carter is not out of line - AB meters are generally unidirectional and once set in motion tend to stay in motion - which is not very good news for Senator Barack Obama.

Obama shows that he knows and understands what people in the middle and lower class are going through. I make over $50,000/year and now I am budgeting items I have never budgeted small things in my life. It is sad and frustrating when you have a family and you have to budget food, gas an other items that I never budgeted in the past. It is frustating when you do not know if you are going to get laid off. Gas and food and even cigarettes are now bills just like mortgage, light, and car note bills. When Obama said that the people were bitter the american people knew already that he was talking about the frustation that people are going through. I knew exactly what he meant so do many other americans. It was just another way Hillary could nip pick so she could say something negative. Obama said he just got through paying off his student loans, while Hillary has made over $109 million dollars over the past 8 years. So who do you think really understands the middle and lower class issues Obama does.

From Audacity of Hope: “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”

If that is true…that in and of itself should make everyone run. Combine that with all his associations Wright, Farakhan, Odinga, Obonga, Rezco, Ayers and you have someone who has an agenda, but is not telling it.

And no Christian would ever say that…another proof that he is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Look throughout history…that puny guy from Germany that caused the holocaust…he smoothly came in with all his smooth talk…people cheering and supporting…then it happened. The Germans were blinded, looks to me that much of America is too…can’t even believe he is still in the race.

I am from PA, and live in a small town. I am not bitter, and neither is my family or anyone else that I know. We are not bigoted and racist and we do not go to church in order to cling to religion in desperation. Obama’s remarks were insulting and he said them to entertain a crowd of backers on Millionaire Row in San Francisco, closed to reporters, or so he thought. I didn’t hear him making this statement to us when he whisked across our state on a six day bus tour. Only behind our backs, in a closed door fundraiser, he showed what he is like.

Yes there are problems here. We’ve had seven years of problems. But, PA voters are not stupid. Obama has associations that are highly questionable…. Tony Rezko, Jeremiah Wright (Rev.), William Ayers, Louis Farrakahn, and probably many more that have not yet been outed.

There will be an element of support for Obama next Tuesday, of course. But, PA is going to make a statement for Hillary that will not be able to be ignored.

Obama hadn’t a clue that one person had a recorder and was taping him.

Obama true colors just came through.

The puzzle that is Barack Obama is slowly being put together…

Rezco and the amount of money contributed to Obama.

Obama’s friend U.S. Terrorist William Ayers and Dorn.

Racist Rev Wright “God Dam” American” “America is responsible for the 9-11 attacks & America’s chickens are coming home to roost.” “America gave the aides virus to the black people” “Praises Louise Farrakhan who is the leader of the Nation of Islam”

Rev. Moss, Obama’s new Pastor who is a carbon copy of Wright.

Al Sharpton

Michelle Obama, “America is mean, I have never in my adult life been proud to be an American”

Obama…typical white people comment

OBama: People in small towns cling to their guns and religion, they are racists agains people who aren’t like them, they are against immigrants, because they ar bitter.

Obama: I never heard my Pastor say those things…..I wasn’t there when some of those things were said……..Yes I was there when some of things were said.

Obama’s Pastor traveled to Libia with Louis Farrakhan and met with Terrorsist Khadaffi

Obama wants to meet with terrorists, now he is sending Carter to meet with Hamas.

Obama’s friend and supporter Louis Farrakhan who hates white people, Jewish people and I quote from Rev Wright, ” garlic noses” Italians.

Rev Wright told Obama, When the Jews find out I went to Libia with Farrakhan, their support of you will dry up like a snowball in hell.

Cone’s 1969 opus, Black Theology and Black Power, in which he helpfully explains:

Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community…. Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.

Black liberation theology, as Wright has elaborated, is closely aligned with the “liberation theology” of Nicaragua during the seventies and eighties: i.e., the doctrine that catalyzed Marxist revolutionaries. It spurred an unabashedly Leftist movement that emphasized, you guessed it, the crying need for “change” — as George Russell aptly described it in a 2001 Time magazine analysis, “social change in the process of spiritual improvement.”

RASHID KHALIDI
In the interim, Ayers and Obama had teamed up for three years on the board of the Woods Fund, a Chicago charitable organization. Together, they voted to donate $75,000 of the largesse they controlled to the Arab American Action Network. The AAAN was co-founded by Rashid Khalidi, a longtime supporter of Palestinian “resistance” attacks against Israel, which he openly regards as a racist, apartheid state. Despite considerable evidence to the contrary, Khalidi peremptorily denies having been a PLO operative or having directed its official press agency for six years (from 1976 to 1982). There can be no gainsaying, though, that he was an influential apologist for Yasser Arafat, the terror master who spawned two Intifadas and ordered the murder of American diplomats.

They didn’t faze Barack Obama, though. He was front and center with Ayers and Dohrn at a farewell bash when Khalidi left Chicago for New York. It was only right. Khalidi, after all, had hosted a fundraiser for Obama in 2000, when the latter launched an unsuccessful campaign for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. And so it goes. A few weeks ago, Khalidi told worldnetdaily.com he supports Obama’s presidential run “because he is the only candidate who has expressed sympathy for the Palestinian cause,” and because Obama has promised negotiations with Iran.

breaking news-Rezko trial drops the Obama BOMB

——————————————————————————–

Eye on Rezko in Chicago Sun Times reported today at 11:47a.m.

April 14, 2008
Obama bomb dropped

When Tony Rezko held a reception at his home for Iraqi-born billionaire Nadhmi Auchi on April 3, 2004, White House hopeful Barack Obama and his wife were also there, Stuart Levine testified just now at Rezko’s trial.

Auchi is the man who provided Rezko a $3.5 million loan that Rezko did not disclose to the court — resulting in his January arrest.
“Mr. and Mrs. Obama were there, were they not?” Rezko lawyer Joseph Duffy asked.
“Yes, sir,” Levine said.
Obama and his aides have said Obama has no recollection of ever meeting Auchi.
Rezko invited Levine to the reception after the two met up with each other during a family vacation in Puerto Vallarta. Rezko had to leave early to arrange for the reception, Levine testified. So Levine offered to rent a larger jet and fly Rezko’s wife and children back to Chicago. That night, they all attended the reception.

The reception was aimed at getting Auchi interested in investing in Illinois, Levine said.

McCain’s pandering with the extreme right will cost him the support of the indepedent voters.

Bill Clinton will in the end be Hillary’s downfall. Bill has proven himself to not know how to control himself.

……………………………………………….

Wrong Michael, it’s already lost Obama a delegate in Montana (citing this incident specifically) and could spell real trouble in PA and Indiana for Obama. This won’t go away in the general election either.

Independents are essentially split on a Republican/Democrat vote..please show your figures to the contrary.

If Bill can’t control himself apparently

That is my understanding of the term “down low”.
I had heard it before.
Interestingly, a darker skinned coworker of someone I know
told me weeks ago she thought Obama and gone down low and
that he had that look. I didn’t know what they meant. Now I see
it all on that Larry Sinclair site. This is getting very DOWN LOW!!!

The problem is Hillary should of let him hang himself. She started to talk negativ today and Pittsburgh Seelworkers heckled her. Then they bought up NAFTA.

Your right she should let him hang himself but I think her fear of the news letting him have a pass on this drives her on and she could be right. I’ve been on other blogs and sites today and a lot of them are already saying this is a non issue. They are also ripping May Hill Fowler (one her made the recording) to shreds.

Truth,

I understand your frustration but Obama got it good for a few days and the comment will come back to haunt him. I feel like McCain can do whatever and no one cares. Like is flip fop about he housing crisis.

…………………………………..

Neglected to add…if Bill can’t control himself, then Michelle Obama’s just as much a liability to Obama..add to that Wright won’t keep quiet (Bob Beckle himself suggested Obama’s camp should contact him to lay low till after the election). We’ll ignore Ayers and Rezko..for now.

Obama doesn’t get it? I think he does ‘get’ the parts of the country that he is familiar with. He attended elite schools (on scholarships and student loans), he was a community organizer in the inner city — since then he has been an elected official and/or running for election.

Change the ’small town America’ reference in his remarks to ‘inner city’ and see if the remarks are more fitting. Or perhaps more insulting.

My experience with small town folk is that they get angry about injustice, unfairness, and sometimes exasperated with government, but they are not bitter, nor do they ‘cling’ to their values.

I don’t see Obama as a elitist per se, simply someone who hasn’t had the opportunity to meet and live with what he would call ‘common folk’.

I disagree. I think a lot of people don’t know a whole lot about it but it’s getting press in the UK, on CBS, and ABC as well. They are simply not hammering away on it. I certainly have my concerns about it.

It’s such a pleasure watching Obama and Clinton slicing each other’s necks–politically speaking of course.

Not only has the Democratic Party succeeded in polarizing the Congress–now they’ve managed to do it within their own party!!!

And who is supposed to bring the American people together……?

Hannity,

They may not care about Ayers now but rest assured it will be very big in the General Election.

That is if Obama gets in which is still questionable.

I don’t think it is questionable for Obama to get the nomination. He has too much of the press on his side and to much money in his war chest.

Truth,

The only way I can really see him losing is if he something big drops but with every day that becomes more of a possibility.

It would have to be really big. He has a lot of protection not only from his supporters, but the DNC, and the news. His supporters have given a lot of money and a lot of their hearts to him it would be hard for them to back away at this point.
