Clinton responds to Obama “shame” comments

Harrisburg, PA — Sen. Clinton continued her assault on Sen. Obama Sunday night after he accused her of taking his words out of context and exclaimed “shame on her” during a campaign event today.

Asked about his “shame” remarks at a CNN-sponsored forum at Messiah College tonight, Clinton responded:

“Well he will have to speak for himself and provide his own explanation. But I do think it raises a lot of concerns and weve seen that exhibited in the last several days by ppl in here in Pennsylvania, in Indiana where I was yesterday and elsewhere because it did seem so much in line with what often we are charged with. Someone goes to a closed-door fundraiser in San Francisco and makes comments that do seem elitist, out of touch and frankly, patronizing. That has nothing to do with him being a good man or a man of faith. We had tow very good men and men of faith run for president in 2000 and 2004 but large segments of the electorate concluded that they did not really understand or relate to or frankly respect their ways of life. And I think that is an issue for voters as I’ve heard today from people I visited in Scranton and elsewhere. So this is, this is a legitimate political issue. And there are some issues that are not but this one is.”

In a written statement released Sunday, Clinton spokesman Phil Singer was a little more pointed, referring to Obama’s remarks as an “outburst.”

“For months, Barack Obama and his campaign have relentlessly attacked Hillary Clinton’s character and integrity by using Republican talking points from the 1990s. The shame is his,” Singer said. “Sen. Clinton does know better — she knows better than to condescend and talk down to voters like Senator Obama did. Senator Obama’s outburst won’t change the fact that he has embraced his characterization of the millions of Americans who live in small towns.”

Question: What do you get when a hypocrite and a liar try to win a popularity contest?

Answer: The 2008 Democratic Primary!

This is the year when you get to pick your favorite affirmative action recipient ultra-liberal. Truly a liberal dream come true.

Hillary is so right. The fact is that it doesn’t matter what she really thinks in private or what he really thinks in private. The only thing that ever matters is the impression that you give the voters. Obama is making a bad impression as someone who does not really understand or relate to or respect these small town people’s way of life. If he can’t relate to middle America he can’t win the Presidency.

What’s the point if he wins the Democratic nomination if he CAN”T win in November? This is Hillary’s point. Like Kerry and Gore, Obama is portraying himself as an elitist, and people don’t like elitists.

BHO goes to a fundraiser in Marin County CA and raises these issues in his attempt to pander to San Francisco area super Liberals. At a meeting he thought was not being recorded HE BRINGS UP THESE ISSUES in a condescending way to demonstarte the obstacles some small town PA hicks can present to forward thinkers such as he and his audience. So far, par for the course. Here’s the absolutely hilarious part, after the comments as exposed, Tom Daschle then appears all over national TV today saying how BHO was merely pointing out how OTHERS use faith and guns as a “divisive issue”. Now, that, my friend is Liberal doublespeak worthy of a Clinton defender. And, who said BHO was a new kind of politican. He’s just the latest version of a long line of Dem charlatans who have preceded him. He just pulled it off a little longer.

I’d like to respond to what some folks wrote about this situation.
For me it is simple; I’m not better of today than I was 8 years ago and that’s what I’ll take with me to the ballot box. I’m sure I’ll be attacked as some crazed liberal but I’m just a working man trying to raise my family. I’m not a business man or an entrepreneur or or some hot shot up and comer but my opinion should count.

Obama needs to go away now.

I really don’t like Hillary. I think she’s a criminal who should probably be in jail (if she were an average citizen she would be). But I would vote for her in a heartbeat before I’d vote for Obama.

I am not a racist. I don’t care if he’s black, white, Arab American, or purple with pink polkadots. He is a divider, and I sincerely question his patriotism to our country…he has way too many questionable associations.

He is way to far left leaning for this gun toting white woman. He is condescending. I think he got a little too high on his horse with everyone following him around like he’s the Pied Piper and now his true self is coming out because he’s let his guard down. He knows he gets a get out of jail free card by the press every time something even remotely suspicious or controversial comes out about him. Any time anyone tries to call him on anything, he pulls out his race card and says Shame on Them!

He will never win in a general election, especially if he keeps walking around making bone head comments like this that DO offend us typical white people, and continues to have ties to folks like the Rev. Wright, William Ayers, Tony Rezko, etc., etc.

Obama needs to go away now.

Hillary Clinton has been exposed in media and by high profile law abiding American citizens as an untrustworthy and unqualified candidate. America can no longer afford to be associated with the Clintons. The DNC should inform her that her campaign is ended. The voting public and world opinion already has.

A Modified Conclusion.
The trojan horse of black theology Barack Obama is at the gates.
Well done pastor Wright MR Farakhan and other scholars of black
theology I hope you can stop laughing long enough to read this.
The actions of Barack Obama I now understand But he still has
to get through the gates. Sorry I let the cat out of the bag
but you still have the winds of change. As intellect of delusion
has no concept of the truth. Blinded by ones own perception of self
I am not prejudice they vote. For sake of conscious temporary euphoria
carried guilt free Obamas white voters what a shame.
But a brilliant move to use the so called oppressors guilt as
a stepping stone for Obamas attainment to the white house.
I say again MR wright and MR Farakhan a brilliant calculated
political game I fear you may have already won. Even Mccain
is afraid of being called a racist and will not give his true
opinion of Obama Congratulations Obama is truly untouchable.

Obama’s lies continue to boil to the surface each and everyday. In my humble opinion, Obama is doing to the reputation of Harvard University as Kennedy Jr did for Brown University……in other words; both are embarrassments to whatever University granted these guys a degree. Further, Obama holds a license to practice law in one of the states. An attorney needs to be held to a higher professional standard in order to maintain their license as an attorney and as such, the attorney shall comply with and be subject to all rules governing the practice of law by attorneys and the attorney shall do nothing which, if done by an individual attorney would violate the standards of professional conduct applicable to attorneys licensed to practice law in a State. Any violation of this rule by the attorney shall be grounds for the Bar Association to terminate or suspend the Attorney’s right to practice law or otherwise to discipline him. Not only should Obama be sanctioned by his State bar Association for lies and the lack of professional conduct, he should recuse himself from his Senate seat and Harvard University should publish a public statement which states that Obama in no way represents the conduct and professionalism of the University.

Hillary Clinton is trying to get away from real issues. President Bill Clinton got $800,000 for a speach promoting CAFTA, her senior strategist Mark Penn brokered a deal with Columbians which Hillary has “openly opposed” to gain votes. Hillary has never felt how it is like to be a “small town” person. She never had to pay college loans. So, I wonder who is the elitist here and who is lying in front of public and twisting things for political gain.

Quite frankly, Hillary’s character throughout this campaign simply disgust me. You can’t believe for one second that this Democratic Party can be unified when she keeps bringing the morale of the Democratic Party down. She’s attacking her rival when she should be attacking McCain.

Sen. Barack O. on the other hand had multiple opportunities to go on the offensive on the issues of Sen. Clinton and Bosnia, or her record which indicates she supported NAFTA. He didn’t and I respect him for that.

Sen. Clinton - my message to you and your supporters are to switch allegiance. Back Sen. Obama for this up coming general election because there is no way that you (Sen. Clinton) can win the Democratic nomination without CHEATING.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is out of touch. Sen. McCain is out of touch with most of the soldiers I know (who are referred to as bullet catchers by the elitist Navy sailors and Air Force pilots). The varying degrees to which there out of touch is up to everybody to judge for themselves. I know that I was shocked to find out that these 2 PRESIDENTIAL candidates who have been on the campaign trail for so long; and that have so many years of experience in Washington. Don’t know that a large amount (some even say 80% of Americans polled are dissatisfied) of Americans are bitter. With all the important looking news clips of them at hospitals and poor people’s homes; and the pictures of them with concern etched on their face in some living room or picket line. I couldn’t believe that neither one of them knew that there were God fearing, red blooded, patriotic, Americans who are bitter. I’m sure once they get wind of all these comments and see the error of they’re ways there’s going to be some quick backtracking. In the mean time I want to voice my opinion about this latest “Bitter Controversy”.
Because I’m bitter; after Two 15 and 16 month tours to the sandbox and less than 6 months together with my wife in the last 2 years… Yes I’m bitter; but I’m not the only one. I see and run into bitter people all the time. Much more frequently than I run into happy go lucky optimistic satisfied people. To clarify my statement though I would like to add. Some of the bitter people I run into are very funny, well behaved, well spoken, law abiding, respectful citizens. Being bitter doesn’t mean they are violent, disgruntled, hateful, or walking around permanently angry. People are just bitter, with these high gas prices and the economy only getting worse and worse. Former New Orleans Louisiana Citizens are bitter with a federal government that seemingly left its own citizens to fend for themselves: in one of the worst natural disasters since the big quake in San Francisco. Every American citizen is bitter from living with an antiquated immigration policy that’s broken and that seems like the government is just playing politics with. People are bitter with racial tensions seemingly worse now than they were in the 90’s, 80’s, or even the 70’s. The rest of the free world is bitter and disenchanted with us as World Leaders. The Euro is sometimes twice the value of a dollar: so a 4 Euro pack of cigarettes cost $8 American dollars. The ridiculous hundreds of billions of dollars in debt we are in to communist China should make any red blooded American bitter. While were steadily outsourcing jobs and in trade agreements with countries that could care less about our people or our families being out of work or struggling; I have family that’s in Akron and Dayton Ohio out of work getting old, bitter. Broken borders… The Democratic Party should be bitter that the Clintons again seemingly (with scandal after scandal) left the door wide open for Al Gore (A Nobel Prize winner) to crash and burn and go down in flames. It is in my opinion that its partially because of them that the Country wound up in the hands of the Republicans who have lead us into this disaster. I still love my country but I’m definitely bitter and upset with the last 2 administrations that I grew up in that have let things come to this.

I believe in the second amendment. I believe Sen. Obama believes in the Second Amendment and the right of Americans to be able to bear arms. He has been one of the Amendments fiercest defenders. I was baptized and have attended Christian School almost all of my life. My faith didn’t come out of bitterness but I know that Jesus message has always been to bring hope to the downtrodden and downcast. What the Senator said is correct. We as Christians cast off our burdens and sorrows in Christ and in church where we believe we are uplifted by his Holy Spirit.. One of the reasons we fellowship in the Lord is because they’re are bad governments. From the Pharaohs to Pontius Pilate they’re have been administrations that have made the people bitter. When times are tough people look to they’re faith for refuge Read Exodus, Psalms, Thessalonians, Corinthians, the New Testament… All those letters to the Churches after (the) Acts of the Apostles or Disciples were pretty much about staying strong in the faith through desperate times. I respect Sen. Obama more than ever for standing up and actually telling the truth. To say that most Americans are happy and optimistic like little children is out of touch. When times are good people aren’t worried so much about crime or guns. When times are good and people are happy and truly optimistic we don’t have so many people using drugs like Crystal Meth… People are happy when they have good jobs that they’re confident they’re going to have the next year. When they’re’ not worried about loosing they’re home or worried about how they’re going to afford gas and still be able to save for they’re children’s education and they’re senior years… No government has ever been perfect, or utopian, but is it unrealistic to just want a President who will help the people instead of the lobbyist and big Bear Stearns?

I believe that out of the three viable candidates that we have left, that Sen. Obama is the one who is the most in touch and connected to us. He didn’t grow up in a wealthy Illinois Republican dynasty, or in some very wealthy Military family that could give him access to the elitist Navy Pilot School. That doesn’t except the children of the common American family. Sen. Obama wasn’t some fancy Navy fly boy… He would’ve been one of us (or like me a Grunt).
Then Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has some nerve; when she doesn’t even realize how out of touch she is. Look how she sounds in her new commercials being run in Pennsylvania: where she talks about her family summers at “The Cottage”. It’s like she doesn’t get the difference or really care that most common people don’t have summers at “The Fabulous Cottage“ that looks like a mansion or some manor… or the White House. She’s completely out of touch. Most of the people I know spent summers on the porch or at they’re friend’s house; with a 2 or 3 day trip somewhere like Disneyland or the beach or some place. I can’t even imagine a whole summer of my whole family not working and being able to hang out at some gated Mansion with butlers and maids. You can see in the commercial the place was humongous. The fabulous Hiltons and Mrs. Rodham Clinton may be used to summers like this at “The Cottage”; but what is this the Simple Life or the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous? The Hills or Richie Rich?
Sen. Obama grew up with a single Mother and from his childhood pictures (looked Happy and Loved on the beach with his Grandparents) with his Mom doing the best she could; but he had to make it on his own. Like the most of us he had to make it by using his own wits and drive; without the rich connections or a Father that is the Admiral of the Pacific Fleet of the Navy. He didn’t even have the brand new convertible Corvette Stingray like Sen. McCain. He didn’t have the trust fund; like most of the rest of us he had to work and pray hard for everything. The President of the Harvard Law Review, a self made yet very intellectual Senator that really seems to still be one of us. That hasn’t completely forgotten what it‘s really like to be one of the ‘have not’s’. Neither One of the other two candidates has ever even experienced an average or lower middle class lifestyle. They have all led fantastic lives and achieved and done amazing things. They have all had to overcome. The difference is 2 of them are completely out of touch with the common American or the average tax payer/voter. Senators McCain and the distinguished Mrs. Hillary Rodham Clinton are completely out of touch with the people, with the small hands that turn the wheels…They can read about being poor, or some older politician’s thoughts on abortion, and being frightened and out of work or being a young single mother… They can visit the barrio and the poor and be gracious enough to listen to you and me gripe; but they have never known a day of not being monetarily rich or financially set for life or even of having an immediate family member that wasn’t rich. Bill Clinton seems to me to be as close as Hillary will ever get to having someone who may have been poor in her family. Sen. Obama or Barry knows what it means to really have a debt or college loans that have to be paid back that you can‘t afford.
The rich kids like the Kennedy’s’ like him and have endorsed him. Stars like Oprah, George Clooney, George Lucas, and even Rolling Stone magazine believe in him and support him… So the wealthy and well to do should know that he’s’ not out to get them or that he wouldn’t just forget about them either. He’s just of and for the people and he’s honest with us because he knows people are intelligent enough to handle it.
You don’t have to sugar coat things or try to trick or politic us into liking you. I can’t afford a new set of Nomax gloves to take to the field with me. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton telling me that I’m happy and optimistic isn’t going to get those gloves or make them magically appear.

I believe that Sen. Obama is really special. Like Governor Richardson said he’s the type of Politician that (if we’re lucky) we get, or that comes around once in a lifetime. I think this last much a do about nothing, is the result of panic and jealousy that the cats out of the bag and the other politicians are really looking bad. To anyone calling him out of touch for overtly being OBVIOUSLY in touch; it’s definitely just a jealous and desperate, frightened reaction. The words he said behind those closed doors in Marin weren’t scandalous or out of touch. The response from McCain and Hillary Rodham Clinton has been… It’s easy to see. People are at the gas pumps bitter, Protesting the War bitter, (Pink against the War or whatever…) Michael Moore and Sicko and the environmentalist are bitter… The problem with Immigration on both sides of the border is bitter the Minutemen are bitter. Out of Work people are bitter and mad at the way there jobs have been outsourced and that Nike is building a brand new 2.3 billion dollar factory in Vietnam. Dell and America Online etc… are spending millions building buildings and business in India spending millions training people in India. People are bringing guns to school and shooting everybody and killing themselves, bitter. They’re not optimistic. They say that there were officially One Hundred and something suicides in the Army last year; but I can almost guarantee that there were more than that, that the Army won’t classify as a suicide. In every unit there putting Soldiers on Suicide watch taking the bolts out of their weapons they’re boot laces and belts. When people are happy and optimistic they don’t have to give up their educations and dreams to join the Army to defend their country and families.

I am a little bitter but I do love my country and I BELIEVE in Sen. Barack Obama for President in 08.

Thank You.

Conservative strategy has been mostly to polarize the electorate through moral issues, not that they can or even will address these issues after elections, since same issues go on for what 30+ years. When conrete issues are on the forefront, which is the case now than the core decency of americans will prevail. Global capitalism (protectionism), foreign policy, social issues (health care) and commitment on change in energy resources.

Bill needs to clean up his own front porch first. His charities not only support Alibaba, Inc., accused of collaborating with the government in its crackdown on Tibetan activists, his scholarships finance schools in Dubai who won’t even accept Israeli students. Perhaps Bill needs to do twenty years of community service in the south side of Chicago to get a grip on what constitutes an elitist. Was Bill taking advantage of a young girl in his employee not elitist? Was not his putting himself above her interests, the interests of his family, the Democratic Party and our country not elitist?

If someone created a website which allowed us to vote on one simple question, ‘are we bitter about how things have been going here in the United States’, do you think the happy campers would ‘win’ or do you think the Americans who are fed up, been pushed down, passed over and trickled on would outnumber those who prefer to wear blinders?

For Hillary to try to twist this comment is beyond her normal campaign games, it’s an act of desperation. When more google for information on her pastor and spritual advisor, Doug Coe, they may come to realize it is all a game to her. When they google through all the campaign lies alone, whether it’s bullets flying, joining the Marines or simply her stands on issues, they will realize we’ll be the losers in these games.

If you want to discuss someone out of touch or elitist, think about the string of unpaid bills Clinton has left in every state she’s been in, bills owed to small vendors. Consider why one would fork out $26,000 for an orchestra for a fundraiser yet not pay her workers’ health insurance premiums for two months. Is that not elitist?

And btw, we were fooled by a beer drinking party guy trying to act like the common man before, look where it got us. And if using that campaign game is not elitist, I’ll eat my hat.

This is very important video. I live in “small town America.” When one of the largest employers of our area, Phillips, an electronic manufacturing plant, relocated to Mexico people became bitter and frustrated, they turned to their faith and those rights they could protect. Many opted for early retirement, sacrificing their level of retirement pay in order to keep their health insurance. Any presidential nominee that says people in small town America are not bitter and clinging to the things that bring them comfort have not spoken to these retirees who ended up losing their health insurance anyway. To say that these people are not bitter demonstrates a candidate’s lack of empathy for small town Americans.

I respect a candidate more when their campaign is based on facts and issues. Hillary steered too far from that this week-end in her constant Obama bashing. I find it condenscending that she lashes out at Obama for telling the truth when she has been caught being dishonest in her campaigning. I also find it disturbing that she tries to accuse Obama for looking down on voters when in fact she is for not accepting the fact that we are bitter and frustrated. How would an elitist like herself understand that when she and her husband enjoy enormous wealth from the speeches he gives to the overseas companies that benefited from him signing into law the NAFTA agreement during his presidency?

She could not leave the compound of foreigners without an approved driver.
She was not allowed to drive or go out in public without a male family member.

Ari, the meaning of Conservative and Liberal depend on the particular subject. Before the civil war the Democratic conservatives were in disagreement with the liberal republicans over slavery. Conservative means traditionally status quo, liberal means change from the status quo. So if you are for abortion staying legal then you are conservative on abortion. But if you want it made illegal and taken off the books then you would be liberal about abortion.

Last time I checked most poloticians aren’t interested in fixing anything. Othewise what would they run on. Obama wants more of the status quo. He wants more big government. So he is conservative when it comes to the idea of the role of the Federal Government. But I am liberal when it comes to big government. I believe the federal government doesn’t have the right to take my money and give it to someone else. I believe in the Constitution and what it says about the role of the Federal Government.

So be sure what you mean before you start slinging conservative around.

If you think that Obama with no experience saving the environment is better than Hillary Clinton. Whose husband (Bill Clinton) left office with the greatest amount of environmental cleanup, and protections in American history.

You Might Be An Idiot, Too!

If you think that Obama with little or no education experience is better than Hillary Clinton. Whose husband (Bill Clinton) made higher education affordable for every American. And created higher job demand and starting salary’s than they had ever been before or since.

You Might Be An Idiot, Too!

If you think that Obama with no experience will be better than Hillary Clinton who spent 8 years at the right hand of President Bill Clinton. Who is already on record as one of the greatest Presidents in American history.

You Might Be An Idiot, Too!

If you think that you can change the way Washington works with pretty speeches from Obama, rather than with the experience, and political expertise of two master politicians ON YOUR SIDE like Hillary and Bill Clinton..

You Might Be An Idiot, Too!

If you think all those Republicans voting for Obama in the Democratic primaries, and caucuses are doing so because they think he is a stronger Democratic candidate than Hillary Clinton. :-)

Best regards

jacksmith…

p.s.

If you don’t know that the huge amounts of money funding the Obama campaign to try and defeat Hillary Clinton is coming in from the insurance, and medical industry, that has been ripping you off, and killing you and your children. And denying you, and your loved ones the life saving medical care you needed. All just so they can make more huge immoral profits for them-selves off of your suffering…

You Might Be An Idiot, Too!

You see, back in 1993 Hillary Clinton had the audacity, and nerve to try and get quality, affordable universal health care for everyone to prevent the suffering and needless deaths of hundreds of thousands of you each year. :-)

Approx. 100,000 of you die each year from medical accidents from a rush to profit by the insurance, and medical industry. Another 120,000 of you die each year from treatable illness that people in other developed countries don’t die from. And I could go on, and on…

DON’T BE DUPED !!!

Large numbers of Republicans have been voting for Barack Obama in the DEMOCRATIC primaries, and caucuses from early on. Because they feel he would be a weaker opponent against John McCain. With Hillary Clinton you are almost 100% certain to get quality, affordable universal health care very soon.

But first, all of you have to make certain that Hillary Clinton takes the democratic nomination and then the Whitehouse. NOW! is the time. THIS! is the moment you have all been working, and waiting for. You can do this America. “Carpe diem” (harvest the day).

I think Hillary Clinton see’s a beautiful world of plenty for all. She’s a woman, and a mother. And it’s time America. Do this for your-selves, and your children’s future. You will have to work together on this and be aggressive, relentless, and creative. Americans face an even worse catastrophe ahead than the one you are living through now.

You see, the medical and insurance industry mostly support the republicans with the money they ripped off from you. And they don’t want you to have quality, affordable universal health care. They want to be able to continue to rip you off, and kill you and your children by continuing to deny you life saving medical care that you have already paid for. So they can continue to make more immoral profits for them-selves.

Hillary Clinton has actually won by much larger margins than the vote totals showed. And lost by much smaller vote margins than the vote totals showed. Her delegate count is actually much higher than it shows. And higher than Obama’s. She also leads in the electoral college numbers that you must win to become President in the November national election. HILLARY CLINTON IS ALREADY THE TRUE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE!

As much as 30% of Obama’s primary, and caucus votes are Republicans trying to choose the weakest democratic candidate for McCain to run against. These Republicans have been gaming the caucuses where it is easier to vote cheat. This is why Obama has not been able to win the BIG! states primaries. Even with Republican vote cheating help.

Hillary Clinton has been OUT MANNED! OUT GUNNED! and OUT SPENT! 4 and 5 to 1. Yet Obama has only been able to manage a very tenuous, and questionable tie with Hillary Clinton.

If Obama is the democratic nominee for the national election in November he will be slaughtered. Because the Republican vote cheating help will suddenly evaporate. All of this vote fraud and republican manipulation has made Obama falsely look like a much stronger candidate than he really is. YOUNG PEOPLE. DON’T BE DUPED! Think about it. You have the most to lose.

The democratic party needs to fix this outrage. Everyone needs to throw all your support to Hillary Clinton NOW! So you can end this outrage against YOU the voter, and against democracy.
The democratic party, and the super-delegates have a decision to make. Are the democrats, and the democratic party going to choose the DEMOCRATIC party nominee to fight for the American people. Or are the republicans going to choose the DEMOCRATIC party nominee through vote fraud, and gaming the DEMOCRATIC party primaries, and caucuses.

Fortunately the Clinton’s have been able to hold on against this fraudulent outrage with those repeated dramatic comebacks of Hillary Clinton’s. Only the Clinton’s are that resourceful, and strong. Hillary Clinton is your NOMINEE. They are the best I have ever seen.

“This is not a game” (Hillary Clinton)

Sincerely

jacksmith…

KS ,
I watched the so called compassion forum tonight also and I was completely left speechless. I thought Hillary did well then they made her stay on stage until Obama came on. I felt like they wanted her to see the reception that he would get. I was shocked. EVERY single person in that audience stood up and hooted and hollered. I thought is was supposed to be non partisan but everyone there was pro-obama. The truly received him as if he were the Messiah and I was pissed. I dont pretend that I wasnt. I know that this had to hurt Hiallry’s feelings and here it was supposed to be about faith and compassion., It was neither. Afterwards he made the rounds, no doubt promising to perform miracles for all the star struck and drooling audience.

Hillary was intelligent, compassionate and articulate.
Obama said Ahhhh more than I had heard him do that prior.
Obama even copied her answer to the question of abortion.
He admitted to having been a student of Islam while in Indonesia.
He said Muslims are regular folks who just want to raise their families.
That is not what I have heard,
I heard Muslims are to form a one world Califate, free of infidels, to pave the way for the return of Muhammed!
If he is no longer a Muslim, why have the Muslims not issued a Fatwah on him for being an Apostate? That is very suspicious.

Since the main “article” is simply a selective set of negative quotes without insight, I’ll just comment on the commenters - at least you’re interesting.

McCain has an excuse for screwing up? Hmmm, what excuse is that? Sounds like you are OK with Alzheimer’s? Just trying to understand. Look, every candidate screws up about every 2-3 weeks in a national race - it’s how they respond that matters most and where the electorate makes their judgment on competence. Obama has been winning that over Clinton hands-down and, given McCain’s past performance, will be walloping him on this big-time in the general election.

Can’t handle the pressure? Looks to me like the Democrats are jumping right in and dealing with the pressure just fine (unlike their former candidates). Meanwhile, McCain can’t even handle the pressure of dealing with himself - getting Iran’s role in the war wrong - multiple times! - with Lieberman’s help! - in a total campaign lull! Just wait until the real pressure is on after he finishes this brief grampa nap.

The comments have to be seen in light of cultural changes in last 30+years, Frank in his book bestseller Whats wrong with Kansas describes this perfectly.

So the central idea of the book answers the question as to why these social conservatives continue voting with the Republican Party, even after their social issues never go anywhere and when the economic policies which result, “end their way of life.” He says that this coalition is held together because of the belief of the social conservatives in a “liberal elite” which does not actually exist. Frank describes the rise of conservatism and the so-called “far right” in the social and political landscape of Kansas. He finds extraordinary irony in working-class Kansans’ overwhelming support for Republican politicians, despite the fact that, in his view, the laissez-faire economic policies of the Republican party are wreaking havoc on their communities and livelihoods for the benefit of the “extremely wealthy”. Meanwhile, he says, the party fails to deliver on the “moral” issues the political discourse of recent decades has dramatically shifted from the class animus of traditional leftism to one in which “explosive” cultural issues, such as abortion and gay marriage, are used to redirect anger towards “liberal elites”.
