Obama Visits State #48

Barack Obama hit his 48th state today with campaign stops in Montana (this is a personal count for Obama and does not reflect the number of states where he’s campaigned).

“This is some pretty country,” Obama observed. “I think I need to learn fly fishing. Get some waders, go out there, clear my head. We may have to come back to Missoula. There’s no doubt about it,” he said to about 8,000 people at the University of Montana at Missoula.

Both Democrats are campaigning in “Big Sky Country” today, and both Obama and Senator Clinton will speak at tonight’s Mansfield-Metcalf dinner in Butte. The candidates are fighting for each of the state’s 16 pledged delegates, up for grabs in the state’s primary on June 3rd. Montana, a rural red state with a largely caucasian populace, is the kind of state where Barack Obama has done well in past primaries, where his ability to appeal to Independent voters has played well in similar states.

“I didn’t know if it was going to work – me coming out here – black guy, funny name, you know, big ears,” he said with a smile. “What we knew was if we were going to be able to compete, it would have to be a grassroots movement that people would have to get organized and make it happen, and that’s what’s happened, that’s why we’ve won twice as many states as the other candidate in this race,” he said, referencing Senator Clinton, who has done well in more traditional Democratic states like California and New York and in states where there is a large working class population like Ohio.

Even though both candidates are duking it out for delegates in what has become a long primary for the Democrats, Obama predicted the party will unify prior to the Democratic convention in August.

“Listen, I admire Sen. Clinton – she is a tenacious candidate, she is a terrific senator and so we are gonna be unified by the time we get to Denver in August. We will be unified,” he said. “My difference with Sen Clinton is not on policy for the most part, it’s that I don’t think she understands how profoundly we have to change Washington in order to bring about the changes that need to happen,” he observed. But even Clinton, Obama said, is better than McCain.

“Whatever differences I have with Senator Clinton, they pale in comparison with the differences I have with John McCain,” Obama said to cheers. “He wants to continue this war in Iraq maybe for another 100 years; he wants to perpetuate the same tax breaks for the wealthy that he himself called irresponsible when George Bush first passed them.”

Gee, doesn’t that sound pretty. But last week you sent out an army of surrogates to suggest she drop out which would leave Montanans as well as North Carolinians wihout a choice of even 2 candidates. I’m not real big on losing the right to vote, Sen. Obama. No, I don’t think so.

““I didn’t know if it was going to work – me coming out here – black guy, funny name, you know, big ears,” he said with a smile.”

Now he is the Black candidate with an Arab name. I though he was above race and ethnicity. Now he is against using race ethnicity, except when he can use it to his advantage. Imagine if McCain said ‘White guy, Irish name, you know, scarred up body” or Hillary saying “White woman, same last name as one of the nation’s worst presidents, you know, cankles.” Second thought, Clinton has used those definitions of herself throughout her campaign. Democrats love identity politics, as long as it is one of their favorite affirmative action groups.

I’m scared. Last week he was a Muslim, now he’s a Christian extremist. A person who changes religions so fast is a flip-flopper. I’m afraid. I’m white…I was raised to vote for old white dudes. When Obama is soon our president, I’m moving to Canada…I’m lying in the fetal position right now cause I’m so scared. We need an honest person like Hillary or Bush Senior, Sr. His middle name is Hussein…now I just peed my pants…all the young people voting for Obama? It’s frightening…let’s change the voting age to 55, so only evil oldies can vote. Did I mention that I’m afraid? He doesn’t have the experience. He wants to make everyone’s middle name “Abdul”…oh no….I just soiled my drawers. Hold me….I’m scared.

The article is barely talking about anything and STILL nothing but snarky comments.
Dear Ms. Clemson, mentioning or even discussing race isnt the same as USING race. If you are of the mind that that is whats going on you’ll need to actually support your argument. Everyone is discussing race and the impact it may have in each state/county/city/suburb/household etc etc etc. If you watched any of the primary nights election coverage you should recall that the question of race was a prominent one in most every poll.
stop trying so hard.

[Reply to Haley Rodman Clemson] But it’s ok for Billary to make a remark on dodging sniper fire????
Obama’s point is pretty much related to his “A more perfect union” speech, where he noted the polarization induced by media (and certain special interests) perception on a candidate as him. Obama acknowledged his campaign considered the race factor prior much earlier in their preparations. This is not playing the race card but simply acknowledging the change in perception his campaign has had on many people and states. When we bend the arc of time towards justice, equality, opportunity we can transcend the most difficult challenges. Geez! What happened to contextualizing? If some of the comments/remarks that get posted on blogs and other message boards are a reflection of the level to which American education has sunk, it’s a sad time for America. The rest of the world will simply play catch-up and passby.

I’m surprisingly impressed that Fox News did a decent job covering the story here. I didn’t think the big networks were even going to bother. And, you only screwed up on one quote and left the context out of two. (Really, that’s a step up). First, to Haley: You obviously have never been to Montana. Any of those descriptions you made for each of the candidates would have flown fine here. We don’t get our panties in a bunch over such things. We’re actually mature adults. I thought the joke was funny and am glad that he didn’t go all PC over it. I was at the campaign site and some volunteers had actually painted a sign that said “Old Broads for Obama.” I can’t think of any Montanan who would be offended by it, but they chose not to hang it up anyway. (Oh, and it would be “Arabic name,” not “Arab name.” For God’s sake, isn’t it the Republicans who are demanding everyone learn English? To use a Bible reference, take the stick out of your own eye before you bother telling your brother to take the speck out of his.)

So, a rare thank you to Fox News for actually covering our small town and not even being biased when you did it.

NEW OBAMA STUFF……MORE LINKS TO RACISM AND ANTI-SEMITE

FOX NEEDS TO INVESTIGATE BECAUSE YOU WONT HEAR THIS ON CBS ON NBC OR CNN….

Al Awda’s anti-Semitism has also linked to neo-Nazi groups in promoting the boycott and divestment from Israel on American campuses and in the US business community. It became so virulent that the group was booted by the UC Riverside campus administration from holding an international conference on that campus last year. Ali Abunimah, even today, is featured on the Al Awda website supporting terrorism against Israelis because he considers that “nonviolence is overrated.”

In short, Obama saw no problem being lobbied in the past by someone who openly promotes terrorism and discrimination against Jewish-Americans.

Al Awda is commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Nakba (catastrophe of the creation of Israel) this coming May thanks to the willingness of the management of Hilton Hotels to overlook anti-Semitism in its facilities to make a buck. A new petition is in the works to get Hilton to stop this. Al Awda’s scheduled guest of honor will be a PFLP terrorist member named Khalida Jarrar, and their website recently gave an homage to the late PFLP founder George Habash. Al Awda wants convicted Islamic Jihad financier/terrorist Sami al Arian released, a murderer of over 100 people abroad, some of them Americans, from terrorist attacks.

If Barack Obama didn’t know about Abunimah’s writings (and Abunimah says he did), the same as his claims of being unaware of Reverend Wright’s remarks after 20 years, then Obama is not competent to be our President. Abunimah likes to lie and claim Al Awda has nothing to do with the ISM or Electronic Intifada, though plenty of evidence exists on the website the homepage at http://www.StoptheISM.com showing the contrary.

But Obama’s association with the ISM through his church and lobbying in Chicago goes even deeper than just his past links to Al Awda and Ali Abunimah. His pastor, Jeremiah Wright, and the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, are both equally involved with the ISM.

I don’t understand why the Barack Obama detractors constantly jump on the negatives. They seem to be such haters.

Senator Obama simply said what political candidates of any ilk always say. They praise the state where they are appearing and try to enjoy some levity.

John McCain is constantly making remarks about being “an old guy.”

Senator Obama went out of the way to praise Senator Clinton, and point out the differences between the Democrats and Republicans.

I can only think that the “demonizing” efforts against a basically decent human being is right out of the Karl Rove play book. Not this time, please.

If he wants to inspire people than maybe he should become a pastor in his church. It’s sort of scary his relationship with Odinga in Kenya.

Wow, I suppose we don’t say “i love aluh” because Obama’s a Christian. By the way, it’s “Allah”, and “supporter.” At least Obama has not lied about being under sniper fire to pad his credentials three different times (December, February, and March), so it’s obviously lying and not “misspeaking”. He also has not tried to hide anything in his tax records, unlike Clinton, who has only released highlights of 2007, which already total over twenty million dollars. A multi-millionaire that understands blue collar workers’ plights. Sure.

Finally a candidate who doesn’t spew the same old BS. I love the fact that he stood up for himself and didn’t just suck up and put on a lapel flag pin just because Bill O’Reilly pretends that flag pins make you a good American. (How embarrassing to see Bush wearing an American flag on his lapel as he slowly tears apart the fabric of a once-great nation.) Every other politician would have immediately pretended they never liked Reeverend Wright, but Obama told the truth: “He’s said some embarrassing things that I don’t like, but I can’t disown him any more than I can disown my white Grandmother who has said embarrassing, racist things at times.” Finally, someone who speaks the PLAIN TRUTH! When asked whether he “inhaled” as a kid, he didn’t lie like Clinton or Bush (who had a nasty coke habit and was arrested for drunk driving), instead Obama said “Wasn’t that the point?”

Hard-core republicans will vote republican no matter what, but I think when the debates happen between McCain and Obama, and when the 527 organizations start spewing hateful race-ads against him and we see him respond strongly with a level head, the INdependents are going to see that this is a chance to make a difference for once in our lifetimes.

Good luck, Obama. And I’m glad your middle name is Hussein– maybe (if the Arabs are as dumb as the right-wing), that will mean something to them and they will actually talk to you.

I guess I would call myself “optimist”, but right now I’m more “mad” than anything. I’ll vote for Obama, but I’ll also vote for Hillary. My optimism makes me a Democrat. Even if Obama doesn’t win the election I’m still glad he’s out there……same with Hillary….

Anyone who claims to still be “suspicious” that Obama secretly harbors or sympathizes with the extremist views of Rev. Wright after actually listening to Obama’s now famous speech was never going to vote for Obama in the first place. All the anti-Obama or pro-Hillary voters are jumping on the lynch-wagon because they see it as a way to bring Obama down, not because they honestly believe Obama to be an extremist. So let them rant and rave. The polls show their fury is barely even fraying Obama’s support at the edges. And in a way, they have actually helped Obama (1) by reminding everyone that Obama is a Christian, not a Muslim and (2) by dispelling any notion that Obama can not stand up to the Republican attack machine. Not only did he stand up, he did it with grace, courage and brilliance.

Republicans are sad; an angry tragedian…the worst America has to offer….

We have yet to endure the tactical and strategic blunder that the war in Iraq really is.
I know! Why don’t we bomb other countries that have schools, water, power, and police for their people? We can quickly lower the population, while creating enemies for our industrial military complex?

How’s that sound Republicans?

Bush Sees “Defining Moment” In Iraq? He saw WMD, Al Qaeda; mobile weapons labs, terrorist training facilities, missiles that could reach New York, 45-minute ready chemical weapons, none of which were there.

What he will see is his legacy and his Parties demise, but at least I got my $600 “tax-rebate” check from China!!

I ignored Bill clinton’s sexual thing, Bush’s war duty allegation. And so i am willing to give Obama a chance. let’s see what he can accomplish. Some people say Obama will destroy America. They are nothing but some dumb stupid. This country has legislature, Judiciary branch apart from the executive branch. No one can destroy America if people do not want it to be destroyed.

Let me predict. If you do not vote for him in 2008, you will be dying to vote for him in 2012. :-)

If you like GWBush, you will love John McCain! Hillary is fine. I will support if she is the nominee.

Since 2001, the ISM has been tasked by the PLO and other Arab irredentist groups with getting new generations of American college kids to consider democratic Israel as somehow a violator of human rights, all the while as the Palestinian Arabs who practice open anti-Semitism, honor killings, and the murders of their own people as well as Jews, as commendable practices. At their 2003 national organizing conference at Ohio State, ISM activists set out to deconstruct American narratives about Israel as a democratic state with firm support from secular radical Americans of Jewish ancestry. In one workshop set up to discuss ways to put a good face on suicide bombings, ISM activists spoke of new ways of reinterpreting the Bible so Israel did not belong to the Jews, but to the Palestinians.

Comment by OBAMA--TIES--TERRORISM

In his speech, Obama actually tried to give some credibility to Wright’s speech claiming it portrays the real experience for black Americans without saying what specific parts of Wright’s diatribes he was referring to. By accusing the US of bombing innocent people of color at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, of America infecting black American with AIDS, or of “chickens coming home to roost” for 9/11 (ignoring that plenty of black Americans died in those attacks), were more than just blanket “issues” that Obama called them and said he does not agree with “totally.”

But does this all really link back to Obama? Can’t he still get by, saying that his pastor Wright and church of 20 years, and Ali Abunimah also do not bespeak his personal opinions?

To the contrary, in his speech about Wright, Obama said he does believe such things when he said he cannot disavow them from Reverend Wright or disassociate himself from the demagogical pastor any more than from the black community. He just did it in veiled language. He just spoke about his close family-like relationship with Wright and then suggested Wright speaks to the black experience in America.

Here is the most important parsed line from Obama’s speech (and it’s no Gettysburg Address):

“The man I met more than twenty years ago is a man who helped introduce me to my Christian faith, a man who spoke to me about our obligations to love one another; to care for the sick and lift up the poor.”

So the man who “introduced” Barack Obama to his “Christian faith” also teaches that Jesus was not a Jew, and that the white Jews exploited the “black Palestinians” in the Bible, and who espouses ISM and Sabeel religious terminology among his fellow Christians, particularly blacks, even against the wishes of his own synod.

Jeremiah Wright certainly knows his market.

“I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community,” said Obama. So then it is clear that Obama believes that Wright’s ideas represent the black community and black experience in America when they represent only the radicalized fringe of black America that wants to aid America’s enemies abroad. It is doubtful many black Americans who served proudly in the US military feel the same as Wright on this issue.

What is more, militant Islamists see a potential to sow internal problems and promote their fascist goals in the US by trying to divide the American black community against the US government. Whereas blacks have been exploited in the past, this is now seen as a way to achieve the goals of expanding the Muslim ummah inside the US from in the Middle East. That is why Libya gives money to Farrakhan and why the ISM and Sabeel work with Reverend Wright whose personal interpretations of Christianity are entrenched in Obama’s mind as the True Word of Christianity. Wright actually visited Mohammar Ghaddafi in Libya with Farrakhan in the past.

“Al Awda’s anti-Semitism has also linked to neo-Nazi .” Ignorant fear rhetoric.

Most people do not understand that Arabs are semitic people. Their problem has been with Israel’s relationship with the Palestinian people and not with race.

Senator Obama has alays been on record for being a staunch supporter of Israel and its continued favored status in United States diplomacy.

This is just blatant fear mongering lies. Senator Obama is a loyal, patriotic American who has no ties to anyone that is anti-semitic. Witness all the young and middle aged jewish scholars and many of the older ones who consider Senator Obama to be a friend of Israel and of all jewish people. The speech he made at Martin Luther King’s church included a plea to black people to renew their ties and friendship with jewish people- who had been the strongest supporters of the civil rights movement.

Here is one of Senator Obama’s defenders- there are many, many more if you bother to look and be objective. The hate talk is indicative of some very disturbed people who will resort to Karl Rove tactics to damage a very decent person. Not this time.

“I’m Israeli. I’m quite confident that all candidates for president, except for Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich, are committed to the continuation of the special relation between Israel and the United States. And when I say all of them, it also means Barak Obama.”

I attended an AIPAC (Israel lobby) conference two years ago where another black candidate for congress, Barbara Lee (D) Oakland, was in attendance as the representative for Oakland/Berkeley. Ms. Lee sat very respectfully as she was fawned over by a crowd of Jewish Israel supporters and acted as if she was really concerned about Israel. Ms. Lee even smiled at me personally as she left. Meanwhile, she was the only member of Congress who voted against going after Bin Laden after 9/11 in Afghanistan and also supports groups like Hamas, Hizballah and Al Awda in their anti-Semitic goals. Congressman Wexler needs to understand that what Obama says to a meeting of Jews will not translate into what he does once he is in office. In that regard, Ali Abunimah of Al Awda is probably right about Obama going to work for the Palestinians once in office Obama’s staffers certainly suggest the same.

The question is if we want a man in the White House who will regularly give his ear to the likes of a Reverend Wright, his and Sabeel’s replacement theologies, and pro-terrorist propagandists like Ali Abunimah on a regular basis? In one sense, Obama could be considered the ISM’s Manchurian candidate given his wide connections to ISM activists and campaign movements such as the Wheels of Justice Tour, Joseph Carr a.k.a. Joseph Smith, Hannah Mermelstein, Anna Baltzer and others.

Pa. Jewish Leaders Praise Obama in Letter
By Ariel Alexovich

Hillary Rodham Clinton might have the endorsement of two of the top Jewish names in Pennsylvania politics — Governor Ed Rendell and Rep. Allyson Schwartz of Philadelphia — but 70 other leading Jewish professionals from the Keystone State would rather see Barack Obama at the top of the Democratic ticket.
Josh Shapiro, the deputy speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, drafted an open letter to the state’s Jewish community on behalf of Mr. Obama, the candidate who boasts what Mr. Shapiro calls a “100 percent voting record on Israel issues.”
In an interview, Mr. Shapiro said it’s time to, “as Jews, stand up and say how much we admire Senator Obama for condemning the words of his pastor and making sure he is Israel’s ally in the Middle East.”
The letter, which can be found online here at the Jewish news service JTA, praises Senator Obama at length for his recent speech on race and argues that he shouldn’t be held accountable for incendiary remarks made by his former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr.

While we are profoundly disturbed by the unpatriotic, bigoted and anti-Semitic comments of the retired pastor of Senator Obama’s church, we are moved that Barack stood up at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia earlier this month, and “condemned in unequivocal terms the statements of Reverend Wright” and expressed his own views on issues near and dear to the heart and soul of the Jewish community.
Specifically, in repudiating the remarks of his former pastor, Senator Obama said Reverend Wright “expressed a profoundly distorted view of this country…a view that sees the conflicts in the Middle East as rooted primarily in the actions of stalwart allies like Israel, instead of emanating from the perverse and hateful ideologies of radical Islam.”
“We respectfully ask that you stand with Senator Barack Obama and vote for him on April 22,” the letter ends.
Henri Barkey, chairman of the international relations program at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa., is an unpaid foreign policy adviser to the Obama campaign who affixed his signature to the letter. Senator Obama has been “misrepresented” by his association with Reverend Wright, Mr. Barkey said, and Jewish people should hear the truth about Mr. Obama’s pro-Israel policies from fellow Jewish people.
“This is how American politics can get — very dirty and personal,” Mr. Barkey said. “My sense in this day and age is you don’t let anything fester. You set the record straight, and perhaps that should have been done earlier.

Obama is Kind

True, Obama mentioned how Wright taught him to be kind unto others. But according to Wright’s interpretation, that “kindness” has more to do with fighting “white oppression” than urging nonviolence and brotherly love among all races. Wright’s church even praised Hamas in the past, and has always touted it as an Islamic charity organization showing such social kindness despite its charter calling for unyielding murder and expulsion of Jews in the Middle East.

The ISM’s training manual says that international ISM volunteers in the West Bank should not tell people they are human shields for terrorist groups but “peace activists” because it deceives people from their real purpose of attacking Israel any way they can to the benefit of their Palestinian handlers. So, too, does Barack Obama talk about loving one another as taught to him by a pastor who then accuses America of murdering innocent people of color at Hiroshima and Nagasaki over 50 years ago. The American servicemen whose lives were spared back then by ending the war quickly were also black men, Latinos and others who were fighting Japanese racists who murdered Chinese, Filipinos and other “inferior” people on a regular basis, who ran experimental death camps for American and British prisoners-of-war, and who were allied with a Nazi Germany that was allied with the same Arab nationalist leadership that is still trying to destroy the Jews today.

Hil or O or both!!!

Democrats in 08!

After years of attacks and insults from Republicans, I am really going to enjoy watching their implosion. The Republicans have only themselves to blame for their “fall from grace”. The childish manner at which they insult anyone who disagrees with them, while they rubber stamp any policy that Republicans create shows a true lack of cognitive ability that I think should be required for a position in government.

As I compared the constructs of the Democrats and Republicans, I see differences that matter to me. (1) The Democrats are “pro” things; pro-choice, pro-civil-rights and liberties, pro-consumer, pro-environment. (2) Democrats also seem to have many more moderate and conservatives than the GOP has liberals or progressives. To me this shows an ability on the part of the Democrats to have diverse ideology while still working compromises with members of the GOP. Working together to solve the problems Americans face is crucial to success. In the last 8+ years the Republicans have shown me that they don’t want to work together with facts and logic, they just want you to know that they are right.

That’s why I’m voting for Democrats in this next election.

Hil or O or both…..Go Democrats…….

John McCain, Hillary are past. We need some new thinking
and new ideas. Spin it whatever way you want. If you talk about 100 years
of war, if you talk about not talking to world leaders with whom we
disagree, those are old thinking. Obama will unite. McCain was a
fantastic candidate in 2000. Now, he is a leaf from the same tree that
gave us this stupid war and deficit. Sadam was a liberal muslim and a
bullwark against fundamentalist. Now women in Iraq are forced to cover
head and stay home. They were much more free under Sadam’s regime.

My first choice is Obama and Hillary is second. McCain ? Please no 3rd term for Bush.

22% of Democrats will vote for MCCAIN if Obama WINS. I am sure that number will go down or up , depending on if Obama steps down or not.

I don’t know if anyone has brought this up but, I read that Jane Fonda endorsed Obama for President. If he’s elected, do you think he’ll appoint her as Ambassador to Viet Nam?

To idiots wilford and snipper.

Wilford, obviously you’ve been raised by old white people. I think it’s safe assume they were ignorant racists or members of the KKK. If you did your research buddy, you’d know Barack was never muslim. His father was; which explains his name. And he wants to make everyone’s middle name “Abdul”? LOL. Kudos to Cory’s comment. You are a grade A example that ignorance and racism still exist.

And to Snipper, learn to spell you idiot. *supporters. *allah. I wish both y’all moved to canada. America can do with out you.

OBAMA LIES ABOUT MCCAIN 100 years WAR

Take a look at what McCain actually said in Derry, N.H., back in January. Cutting off a questioner who talked about the Bush administration’s willingness to keep troops in Iraq for 50 years, McCain said “Make it a hundred.” He then mentioned that U.S. troops had been in Germany for 60 years and in Korea for 50 years, and added, “That’s fine with me as long as Americans are not being injured or harmed or wounded or killed.”

Obama-ties-to-terrorism.
Please add Odinga, Makoni, Tsvangirai, ODM, MDC, Dick Morris to your list.
Dick Morris is adviser to Obama and the rest of that crew! Morris’ loyalty is for sale to the highest bidder! He advised Odinga in Kenya, Makoni and Tsvangirai in Zimbabwe and the tactics are always the same. Divide and conquer! Morris pulled the same contest the results method in the Ukraine too.He incites voters! Contests results and compromises in a power share. His campaigns turn violent. It happened in Kenya and is on the brink in Zimbabwe.Just look at the race-baiting going on from his supporters just in the Democratic primary here! Read the blogs! He is pitting voters against one another along racial lines. He is not rallying support, he is inciting it! Obama has a non-negotiable allegiance to Africa, according to the church he is a member of!
Wouldn’t you rather have a President with a non-negotiable allegiance to the USA?
Some things are just absurd! Voting for Obama is one of them!
This link will back up my facts.

This is one sick individual. People who try to tie any loyal, patriotic American to the injustices of the past using lies, distortion, and deceit are probably sociopathic, and mentally disturbed people. I suggest that you consult a medical person for professional help, rather than wasting your time trying to spread your delusions and hate on this site. You just give honest people the motive to examine the facts and understand that all of our candidates are loyal, patriotic Americans. Crawl back into your hole and cover your shame. Please. You are not convincing anyone.

“Dick Morris is adviser to Obama .” The psychopathic liar just cannot contain himself. Check it out yourself

“Morris, a former political adviser to Sen. Trent Lott (R-Miss.) and President Bill Clinton, is the author of “Outrage.” To get all of Dick Morris’s and Eileen McGann’s columns for free by email, go to http://www.dickmorris.com.”

Morris is an Obam detractor and probably will be supporting McCain.

This idiot needs to crawl back into his hole. What a creep.

Hey Snipper:

Your sense of racial hatred just isn’t our future. So how about you go pack yourself off to some tar-paper shack and we’ll all vote Senator Barack Obama into the White House?

Comment by OBAMA--TIES--TERRORISM

Of course Obama was not in church that day….In the past he told the american people that he rarely misses a Sunday, but now….

The Hamas piece was published on the “Pastor’s Page” of the Trinity United Church of Christ newsletter reserved for Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr., whose anti-American, anti-Israel remarks landed Obama in hot water, prompting the presidential candidate to deliver a major race speech earlier this week.

Hamas, responsible for scores of shootings, suicide bombings and rocket launchings against civilian population centers, is listed as a terrorist group by the U.S. State Department.

In his July 22, 2007, church newsletter, Wright reprinted an article by Mousa Abu Marzook, identified in the publication as a “deputy of the political bureau of Hamas.” A photo image of the piece was captured and posted today by the business blog BizzyBlog, which first brought attention to it. The Hamas article was first published by the Los Angeles Times, garnering the newspaper much criticism.

Late Thursday, following WND’s story, Obama e-mailed a statement to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency criticizing Hamas and noting that he was not in church the day the bulletin was distributed.

OBAMA–TIES–TERRORISM, How much are you paid to spread your hate? Did you hear Obama’s speech?

Senator Obama’s speech was one of the most important social commentaries about the race issue in this country since the Civil Rights Movement. He stood up for what and who he believes in, even though it may have hurt his chances at securing the democratic nomination. He didn’t throw his religious leaders under the bus (as McCain did to Robertson and Falwell years ago) only to resurrect them when it suited his political aspirations (McCain recanted his reference to Falwell and Robertson when he needed to secure his place on the republican ballots). Anyone who doesn’t think that this country is still feeling the effects of our nation’s past abhorrent policies like Jim Crow, Anti-Miscegenation and Exclusion Acts, disenfranchisement, and other “legal” forms of discrimination need to study our history in more detail. Were some of Rev. Wright’s comments incorrect and unjustified? Certainly, and Obama admitted it. However, let’s not forget about Falwell’s cause for the attacks of 9/11 - homosexuality and feminism. After hearing Barack’s speech, I, for the first time in quite a while, I am proud to consider myself an American and would be honored to call this man President.

“If McCain vs. Obama, 28% of Clinton Backers Go for McCainIf McCain vs. Clinton, 19% of Obama backers go for McCain.”

The dreaded “polls, again.” Look you dope, polls are notoriously flawed. Once there is a Democratic nominee, the choice between Bush 3 and any Democratic candidate will become clear. I’m an Obama supporter, and do not relish the Clintons having a third stay in the White House. But if Mrs. Clinton does win the nomination somehow, I will choose her over John McCain. I don’t want to continue fighting the Viet-Nam war all over the world, in Iraq, Iran, or wherever the old man thinks he sees danger, for the next eight years. He has no clue about economics or the desire to make the fundamental changes in our educational system that will bring us back to being the world leader that we should be.
