Doug, Obama won’t answer questions because he doesn’t want to own up to his past, his views or his plans for the future. He is a way out there liberal who believes in a Black supremacist theology so he doesn’t want to tell you what he believes. Yes Holly and Redneck Woman America is always rescuing people. My brother-in-law is from Israel and his father who lives here in the US a holocaust survivor. This is probably the nicest bloggers I have spoken with in the last few days. I’ve been really heated about Trinity. It really bothers me how ignorant people are and how they pretend Obama wasn’t in support of his Pastor. I talk to a lot of my friend (black) and they defend him. However when I challenge them with questions like: “What about the people cheering the Pastor as his spewed hatred of the Whites, Jews, Europeans?” ” What do you think about them?” “Do you think they disagree with the pastor also? ” or I might ask “Would you want your children to hear suck language and racist ranting?” Not one, could answer each time I challenge them a few have said that they could never go to such a church. Obaa is an educated man and he knew better and not enough because Cult Trinity cost him his ticket to the White House.

Obama Resign I have never heard a pastor say anything like what came out of Rev Wright mouth I was flabbergasted when I heard that. It wouldn’t take me 20yrs to leave.

My husband says there is a lot of different aspects to be determined and it cant be based one or two factors. But if the leaders say we have a job to do they do it and they understand the importance of dping so… he just left the room.

Of course my husband retired from the service two years ago and he was an officer and a fine one at that! His last tour of duty was in Afghanistan where he did suffer an injury!

FYI.

In 1961, a young African-American man, after hearing President John F. Kennedy’s challenge to, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country,” gave up his student deferment, left college in Virginia and voluntarily joined the Marines.

In 1963, this man, having completed his two years of service in the Marines, volunteered again to become a Navy corpsman. (They provide medical assistance to the Marines as well as to Navy personnel.)

The man did so well in corpsman school that he was the valedictorian and became a cardiopulmonary technician. Not surprisingly, he was assigned to the Navy’s premier medical facility, Bethesda Naval Hospital, as a member of the commander in chief’s medical team, and helped care for President Lyndon B. Johnson after his 1966 surgery. For his service on the team, which he left in 1967, the White House awarded him three letters of commendation.

What is even more remarkable is that this man entered the Marines and Navy not many years after the two branches began to become integrated.

While this young man was serving six years on active duty, Vice President Dick Cheney, who was born the same year as the Marine/sailor, received five deferments, four for being an undergraduate and graduate student and one for being a prospective father. Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, both five years younger than the African-American youth, used their student deferments to stay in college until 1968. Both then avoided going on active duty through family connections.

Who is the real patriot? The young man who interrupted his studies to serve his country for six years or our three political leaders who beat the system? Are the patriots the people who actually sacrifice something or those who merely talk about their love of the country?

After leaving the service of his country, the young African-American finished his final year of college, entered the seminary, was ordained as a minister, and eventually became pastor of a large church in one of America’s biggest cities.

This man is Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the retiring pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ, who has been in the news for comments he made over the last three decades.

Since these comments became public we have heard criticisms, condemnations, denouncements and rejections of his comments and him.

We’ve seen on television, in a seemingly endless loop, sound bites of a select few of Rev. Wright’s many sermons.

Some of the Wright’s comments are inexcusable and inappropriate and should be condemned, but in calling him “unpatriotic,” let us not forget that this is a man who gave up six of the most productive years of his life to serve his country. 

How many of Wright’s detractors, Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Reilly to name but a few, volunteered for service, and did so under the often tumultuous circumstances of a newly integrated armed forces and a society in the midst of a civil rights struggle? Not many.

While words do count, so do actions.

Let us not forget that, for whatever Rev. Wright may have said over the last 30 years, he has demonstrated his patriotism.

*** You can’t make these statements like he did in a sermon. We are not perfect but to goof more than once than clearly it is not a mistake and intentional. did you read Obama’s book which was published before the election. He even admits to Rev. Wrights questionable remarks in his book Check it out in the Library. Obama made poor judgement call and it is too bad because to some of the elder folk this is very meangiful to them and for that my heart aches for them.

I don’t know much about it, but I am waiting for it all to add up.

Jeff study your history and you will find that the platform of the Republican and the Democrat parties have switched. So therefore you can say that the Republicans (under the Democrat party title) are responsible for what happened over 100 years ago.
