McCain camp response to new Clinton 3 a.m. economy ad

UPDATE–9 p.m. McCain responds with new ad, “Ready.” (see script after jump)

The McCain campaign is not mincing any words in response to Clinton’s latest ad attacking the Arizona Senator on the economy. Senior Adviser Steve Schmidt tells reporters, “with ads like that, it’s more likely the call at 3 a.m. is ‘Senator, you just lost another Superdelegate.’”

Narrator: It’s 3 a.m. and your children are safe and asleep.

But there’s a phone ringing in the White House and this time the crisis is economic. Home foreclosures mounting, markets teetering.

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama just said they’d solve the problem by raising your taxes. More money out of your pocket.

John McCain has a better plan. Grow jobs, grow our economy not grow Washington.

It’s 3 a.m., time for a president who is ready.

The call at 3am is the secret service calling to inform Hillary that they have found the hotel Bill is at and with whom.

“Devo-Mar” - You had written in Metaphors which I don’t understand about the “Church of England” and yada…yada….yada…so I cannot respond, but what I do know about McCain is that he wants to increase the military which I have wanted to do for 20 years and he submitted a statement to the Supreme Court, as a friend of the court two weeks ago to stand behind the 2nd Amendment and gun rights regarding this historical decision coming up and he puts his money where his mouth is. Further, he has always lobbied for hard core conservative judges for the Supreme Court and in the appeals and other Federal Court district every single time; and has a 83% conservative voting record when he was a House Member and now a Senator. He wants to cut spending and lower taxes at the same time as he voted under Ronny Reagan. The only reason he didn’t vote for Bush’s tax cut is because Bush’s plan didn’t involve any spending cuts but he would have if Bush had any spending cuts! So don’t listen to any so called conservative talk show hosts that don’t know the facts about McCain. McCain is almost as conservative as the most conservative members in the Senate with the exception of Duncan Hunter. Yeah……I will support McCain for President without any waiving or without any shame whatsoever!

“Devo-Mar” - You are correct in that the Electoral College decides the President and the popular vote doesn’t count. The Electoral College is a sham and the greatest take away from the people in the History of the US beside handing the Federal Reserve over to the private people and making the Federal Reserve, in fact, the largest Private Corporation on the face of the planet. I do believe McCain was chosen to be the President by the Electoral College along time ago and he will become President. But I am not unhappy about this because I believe, despite the “glad handling” within the “powers that be”, McCain will allow the sovereignty of the US to exist. If Obama or Hillary were to be chosen, the freedoms of the people go down within 1 to 2 years.

Why isn’t anyone talking about the million if dollars that Hillary and Obama have lined up for and ready to spend on senseless programs that we really don’t need to finance. I am interested in your characterization that the Electoral College (actually the process described by Article II Section 1 of the Constitution) does not represent the votes of the people. As I am sure you are aware, the United States Government is a Federadion of the 50 States — hence the term Federal Government.

As a resident of one of the “unimportant” states I am very happy that we have the Electoral College, which is basically 2 votes for each state (representing the number of senators) and one vote for each of the congressional districts. Article II Section 1 gives each state the freedom to assign its votes for President in any manner that the legislature thereof may direct — referring of course to how the states votes should be cast based on the election. Most states have chosen to make their state a winner take all election. I seem to recall that one of the mid-western states, perhaps Nebraska but I am not sure, has changed this to how each of the congressional districts vote with the two senator electors going to the overall state vote getter.

I am not aware of any problems with the states electors not voting in accordance with the certified vote results (Florida 2000 get over it — name a court other than the fully Democratic Florida Supreme Court that ruled in favor of Gore). Therfore, it is incorrect to state that are votes have been taken away from us by the electoral college system. Not once in 230 years has that occured.

The similarities between John Kennedy and Barack Obama come to mind easily: the youth, the magnetism, the natural grace, the eloquence, the wit, the intelligence, the hope of a new generation.

But is might be more to the point to view Obama as Lincolnesque in his own origins, his sobriety and what history now demand. Like Abraham Lincoln, Barack Obama challenges America to rise up, to do what so many of us long to do: to summon “the better angels of our nature”.

One other thing, I can’t understand why everyone is so obsessed with Condoleeza Rice. (sp?) Frankly, I don’t think she would make a great President or VP. Now I know I am going to take some flack for saying that but here are a few reasons why. One, Russia continues to defy the U.S. by supporting Iran nuclear efforts. Then again, it has nothing to do with Nuclear weapons right? I thought she kept giving the Israel/Hezbolla conflict mixed messages by saying it was ok for Israel to defend themselves against missle attacks, but then told them stop right after. Again, Iran defies the US constantly and if I am not mistaken, have issued sanctions on Iran, but not the most severe there can be. What are we going to wait for, a nuclear bomb in the hands of gutter rat Hitler of Iran. Just a side note, I have to laugh at the homosexual movement who constantly thrash Christianity, yet you hardly ever here a peep blasting these radical regimes who execute their own people if they are caught in a homosexual act. Why don’t they put their money where there mouth is and go to Iran without a head scarf and do a mass protest against such acts.
Getting back to my main point, I have seen no improvement with North Korea. I believe there was some sweet talk by the regime, but no real improvement. As far as the social issues, if I am not mistaken she is pro choice. Just because she is an educated women, does not qualify her for VP or President of the United States.These are just a few reason.
Here is where I am going to give her some slack. Some of these things are not going to change right away. I actually found Ambassor Bolton brilliant and firm with these countries. If you listen to his proposals and statements you realize he means business. Don’t get me wrong, Rice is a hundred times better than Madeline Albright. Watching that socialist mingle with that dictator made me sick. Anyway, just a another mans opinion.

You know I am getting tired of people pecking at Obama for using somebody else’s words.

First of all, half of the graduates from American Colleges are guilty of this at some time or another — just go ask Joe Biden.

Second, let’s look at that icon of modern liberalism John F. Kennedy and his famous “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country speech.”

Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, in a Memorial Day address is 1884 stated: “It is now the moment when by common consent we pause to become conscious of our national life and to rejoice in it, TO RECALL WHAT OUR COUNTRY HAS DONE FOR EACH OF US, AND TO ASK OURSELVES WHAT WE CAN DO FOR OUT COUNTRY IN RETURN.”

Even closer to President Kennedy’s actual verbiage was this homily written in a 1940 novel by Van Wyck Brooks’ New England: Indian Summer which contains this remark made by the Mayor of Haverhill, Massachusetts at the funeral of John Greenleaf Whittier in which he said the following: “Here may we be reminded that man is most honored, not by that which a city may do for him, but by that which he has done for the city.”

Clearly JFK did not come up with the thoughts, or even the words, he so forcefully stated that January Day, but few of us who have heard them either live or sense fails to grasp the significance of the challenge that Kennedy is making in his speech. I do not support many of his policies, but it is folly to argue that Obama is not a powerful speaker, and we disdain ourselves when we pick at the words rather than the meat of what he is saying.

Our first Black/Chinese President will be Tiger Woods when he turns 65 years of age. Barrack Hussein Obama will never be my President and Michelle Obama will never be my First Lady. Both, are affirmative action receiptants. They need to earn it, and not be given it because they are ugly and uneducated Blacks.

Another example is the great words from the Declaration of Independence

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal and that they are endowed by their creator with life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

This quote from Thomas Jefferson is neither a direct quote nor even all his work and ideas.

The part about it being self evident was from Ben Franklyn. He shortened down a longer passage that added little into the dramatic saying that draws you into the paragraph.

The thoughts about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Not Jefferson. Try George Mason who is often called the forgotten founder. He wrote the Virginia Rights of Man earlier that year wherein he states:

“That all men are by nature equally free and independent and have certain inherent rights, of which, when they enter into a state of society, they cannot, by any compact, deprive or divest their posterity; namely, the enjoyment of life and liberty, with the means of acquiring and possessing property, and pursuing and obtaining happiness and safety.”

Once again what does it matter. Thomas Jefferson was the one who pulled the many thoughts of the day together, sorry they were far from revolutionary, and gave us the stiring document we all aspire to.

Therefore, please lighten up on Obama. Neither Jefferson nor Kennedy created the passages for which they are so famous. Who cares. Their vitality gave the existing passages new meaning, and that is what is really important on a going forward basis.

I have nothing against Blacks, but just find you people ugly, stupid and lazy. I’m pro lifer but I think all Blck babies should be aborted. I’m not a bad person, I just have my preferences, just as you do, I’m sure.
