Obama is quite the orator. His smooth talk has fooled many, many people, including me. It takes someone on solid ground, like John McCain, to bring the people back to reality. Reading about Obama...he really doesn't have much experience...in anything when one actually gets real, especially the war in Iraq. At this point in time. we don't need an unexperienced upstart to run our country.

Wouldn't it make more sense for the Spitzer task force to have been focusing on Bear Stearns? Or finding Bin Laden?

I'm not saying Spitzer wasn't stupid, but think about it...

They flagged him for pulling $5000 out of his bank accounts and then actually set up a task force to follow/sting him.

All using the Patriot Act as cover.

Are alarms going off for anyone else?

Andy, if interrogators didn't break the law they wouldn't need protection from prosecution in the first place.

It's the same kind of Gonzales-logic that says '...do what you want and we'll either make it legal later or hide it.'

And since you must think it's ok to export actions that are illegal here, I guess you also think it's ok to send all of our asbestos to Mexico.

I can see it now...Andylit's Campagn slogan

"The United States... land of the free (unless we want to torture you, in which case we will expediently hustle your @ss out of the country and torture you somewhere else"

"The United Statues...home of liberty, unless you happen to have views opposing the current administrations, in which case your phone records and banking records may be appropriated under the Patriot Act in order to prosecute you for something that has nothing to do with terrorism"

Please!!!!!!! I encourage all of you bloggers to really examine the issues and the arguments presented here by both-the Obama and McCain camps.

McCain is wrong…….point blank.

He is making the argument that our strategy in Iraq is consistent with military strategies employed in the past which were rooted in a fundamental premise of establishing democracy and maintaining national security. He is correct in part, that the fundamental objective of previous conflicts was to establish a democratic partnership with foreign nations.

What he fails to acknowledge is that many of those foreign nations posed a threat to this country (remember Pearl Harbor?) and a military threat to neighboring nations (research and inquire about the real origin of the United States’s former conflicts).

This so-called war in Iraq, or war on terror, was not engaged under any of the aforementioned premises. Yet now that we are in this conflict, McCain is making the argument that, essentially, it is the same as the previous conflicts that our country has engaged in.

McCain is dead wrong!!!!! Do many of you really understand the significance of what’s happening with this so-called “war on terror”?

Are most you bloggers so disillusioned as to believe that this country is capable of being totally immune from acts of terror? Technology has advanced so rapidly to the extent that it’s enabled people of all sorts the ability to plan, implement, and execute terroristic acts that were unimaginable 20 years ago. Yet, some will convince you that this war in Iraq will prevent such acts against ever happening again in the United States of America.

Acts of terror will continue to occur, due to the advancement of technology, the advancement of society and the advancement of civilization.

If people would stop being disillusioned, stop allowing our sense of imperialism to distort our thinking, and really examine the issues critically, you will come to the conclusion that this war in Iraq is wrong!!!!!

Anybody but McCain 2008.
