Senator Leahy’’s statement is a reflection of his parents neglect to teach him any manners. His commentary was in such bad taste.

I am not sure why Senator Leahy would make such a statement or why he should concern himself with a convention which is so far in the future (for him).

Chances are the Senator may not make it to the convention, what is he, 90 years old? I think the Senator would have something better to do, like go make funeral arrangements or have a will to do. Instead his chooses to pose for pictures which confused me into thinking I was looking at the mummified remains of Ramses.

So what’s so brilliant about that statement, then? Okay, Mr. Obama, you can hear this. My attitude as a Clinton supporter is that Senator Obama can run as long as he wants. His name is on the ballot and he has shown to be a formidable competitor and he obviously believes that he would make the best nominee (even though his opposer has more experience) and the best president (even if all he says is change, but nothing more) and I think that, you know, he should be able to compete and his supporters should be able to support him for as long as they are willing and able.

I agree with Senator Obama. What I thought I was seeing over the past two weeks was a shocked Clinton with wide eyes in denial over the prospects. Then I thought that she could strengthen her own role by taking a truly altruistic stance for the good of the party and the country, that kind. Heroic and altruistic and unifying rather than divisive. Then I saw the big donors letter to Nancy Pelosi and thought, whoa, Clinton’s donors wouldn’t let her stand down if she wanted to. They’d rip her to shreds, she is really trapped. She has to go on and on and on.

Because of Rush Limbaugh and a few other conservative talk show hosts, I have not been able to discern how many of the voters for Senator Clinton in the primary are just preferring that she oppose John McCain. That doesn’t make as much sense now as perhaps it seemed to when those commentators suggested a way to dominate the primaries and lock Obama out.

For now, I can see that in the mind of the Clinton campaign, there’s nothing at all noble or altruistic about endorsing the opponent. By the time it comes to that last gasp, it would even be able to appear that way.

Rezko received a $3.5 million loan from London-based IRAQI billionaire Nadhmi Auchi — a loan that was later forgiven in exchange for shares in a prime slice of Chicago real estate. Rezko gave $700,000 of the money to his wife and used the rest to pay legal bills and funnel cash to various supporters.”

These Funds from Auchi’s loan helped finance a complex series of transactions between Rezko and Democratic Presidential candidate Illinois Senator Barack Obama involving the 2005 purchase of Obama’s Chicago mansion and Rezko’s purchase of an adjoining landlocked parcel.

Rezko claims he paid “full market price” and Obama apparently received a “discount” of several hundred thousand dollars for his parcel. Rezko then improved his parcel to benefit Obama.

Instead of handing cash to Obama, Rezko handed Obama a preferential price for property. This is the same form of “honest graft” and preferential treatment that sent former Illinois Governor Otto Kerner to jail over 30 years ago, see United States v. Isaacs, 493 F.2d 1124 (7th Cir. 1974).

The Chicago Sun-Times recently reported that Mr. Rezko, around the same general period he was wheeling with Obama, also provided a preferential price for a property purchase by U. S. Representative Luis Gutierrez.

Instead of transferring cash to buy influence, Rezko was engaging in structured property transactions and preferential treatment of public officials to confer significant financial benefits on them, far above the legal limits of any legitimate political contribution permitted by federal law.

The transparency of people like Patrick Leahy asking Hillary to step down are so obvious considering their support of Obama. In my opinion it’s like stopping a ballgame before the last inning and saying “OK we think my team is better so give us the win….” Certainly it would be convenient for them but I think they’re forgetting that they would allienate millions of Americans from getting the opportunity to vote- this is still a democracy isn’t it? The Democratic Party needs to let the process go forth like it was intended because ultimately it is not the race that will discourage democrats it will be the attitude of the party itself- I don’t think they can afford to ignore the voices of the American people. They seem to forget that they hold their positions because they were elected and they are supposed to represent their constituents not a small group of party members.

The level of commentary by the majority of Clinton supporters is pathetic: Many comments are rife with internal inconsistencies, distortions, unsupported or discredited claims, and lies, not to mention misspellings and poor grammar. One reads the same tripe over and over, across different blogs, as though repetition makes a statement true. Which is not to say it’s surprising, given their candidate of choice.
