McCain seeks to re-introduce himself to general electorate
As he prepares to launch a “Service to America” biography tour next week, Sen. John McCain launched his first TV ad of the general election Friday, seeking to highlight his patriotism and career of military service.
Titled, “624787,” his military serial number, the 60-second ad will be airing in his neighboring state of New Mexico–a battleground state that Democrats took in 2000 and President Bush reclaimed by a slim margin in 2004.
“Keep that faith. Keep your courage. Stick together. Stay strong. Do not yield. Stand up. We’re Americans. And we’ll never surrender,” McCain says at the top of the spot. A narrator takes over and asks rhetorical questions about McCain’s devotion to protecting the nation and it’s liberties before declaring, “John McCain, the American president Americans have been waiting for.” The ad includes footage of McCain as a POW in Vietnam being questioned by interrogators.
During McCain’s bio tour next week, he is set to campaign in key cities and places that intend to showcase his service to the country:
–Meridian, MS–naval air station where he served as a flight instructor
–Annapolis, MD–where he attended the Naval Academy
–Pensacola, FL–where he had flight training
–Jacksonville, FL–where he came after his release as a POW from Vietnam
–Prescott, AZ–where his AZ Senate predecessor and 1964 GOP nominee Barry Goldwater launched his general election campaign.

Sadly, many people will actually believe him and won’t bother to read his real record or his Globalist plan to dissolve the United States into an ECM-like NAU. Evidently, his desire to continue or expand military intervention is quite enough to attract many followers.

Are you serious? Let me guess…aliens built the pyramids, Bush secretly planned 9/11, Paul McCartney has been dead since 1967, the US government developed AIDS in an attempt to wipe out the black race, NASA faked the moon landing, the Philadelphia Experiment actually happened, and it was really the guys on the grassy knoll. (sigh) NAU….oy vey!!!!

LOL. Well one thing we can feel safe about Christopher is that if McCain wants to create a NAU he’ll have to get the approval of the Illuminati first since they actually rule the world. (snicker, snicker)
MCCAIN WANT RAISE EVERYONES TAXES AND CREATE MORE EXPENSIVE GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS FROM ATO Z THAT WANT WORK!!!! NOR WILL MCCAIN LET THE UNITED NATION REPLACE OUR CONSTITUTION LIKE OBAMA AND HILLARY WILL DO!!!!!!AND HE WILL SECURE OUR BORDERS AND FIGHT THE ISLAMIC TERRORIST THAT WANT TO KILL US!!!!! OBAMA AND HILLARY WILL TUCK TALE AND RUN!!!!!!
If a Viet Nam-era draft dodger, federal grand jury liar, disbarrd lawyer can be elected President of the United States, surely a bona fide hero who honorably has served his country in peace and in war,for a lifetime, can be elected President. As to “profitleads”–whatever you’re ingesting internally you ought o consider giving it up. You sound a little light in the loafers.
This is a great idea! I gush about him to my liberal friends and some of them, no kidding, have never even heard of him. They are like, “The old White guy is probably rich of mom and dad’s money and has never earned anything in his life.” (This of course coming from kids whose parents pulled a few strings to get them into Ivy League schools.) The real John McCain is the epitome of an American: a war veteran who has gone through a tough divorce, worked his tail off to get where he is now, made a mistake (Keating 5) which he learned from and loves his country as much as life itself. He has a tendency to piss people off, but that’s what Americans do. Ask any foreignor, they’ll tell you.
I’m with you Johnny. Let’s tell America who you are and why you should be the leader of the free world.

*** People like you really sicken me. American men and women served for our country in order to allow people, even ones as pathetic as you, to live. These soldiers are our protectors and if you don’t like the American way of life leave! Iraq would be the prefect setting for you.
McCain 08! An American who is proud of his country.
If the DNC throws Clinton under the bus McCain has my vote and money.
America First!
Suzanne12, I’ll vote for McCain but I wouldn’t be terrible upset to have Hillary as our President either. I’m a strong Patriot and I think McCain has earned the privilege to be our next leader. As for Obama, I’m sick to my stomach. This man defends his racist Pastor. I just can’t move past it. I think you are not the only one to follow and vote for McCain if Obama wins the nomination. My husband’s family are all democrats and they are just as angry as me and they’ve said if they can’t vote for Hillary they’ll vote for McCain! I hope Hillary keeps the fight going! Obama and Michelle are socialist and opportunist a dangeous combination for our country. Given Obama’s record, he probably lied to get to the Senate seat.
billy boy
we tryed it Eric but we couldn’tdo it. We don’t think you’re ed. but you’re still a chump.
correcto
ok
I’ll use davd
Jim, if you really thing McCain will secure our borders, you’re dillusional. Ask the people who live in Arizona. I have two sons who live there and I know for a fact he wouldn’t do anything about the border in AZ as their senator and he won’t do anything about the borders as President. I admire and respect him for what he has done, but let’s give credit where credit is due, and he fails miserably when it comes to immigration.
THE PUNDITS
Hillary Clinton will lose New Hampshire and the race will be over
THE REALITY
Hillary Clinton wins New Hampshire, defying the predictions and the polls
THE PUNDITS
Hillary Clinton will lose the big states on Super Tuesday and the race will be over
THE REALITY
Hillary Clinton wins the big states on Super Tuesday – and wins them by double digits
THE PUNDITS
Hillary Clinton will lose Texas and possibly Ohio on March 4th and the race will be over
THE REALITY
Hillary Clinton wins both Texas and Ohio on March 4th – and she wins Ohio by double digits
THE PUNDITS
Despite Hillary Clinton’s big victories on March 4th, “the math” works decisively against her and the race is essentially over
THE REALITY
The math is simple: neither candidate has reached the number of delegates required to
secure the nomination and either candidate can win
THE PUNDITS
Barack Obama is substantially ahead in the pledged delegate count; pledged delegates are the only measure of success; therefore the race is essentially over
THE REALITY
The candidates are within fractions of one another on delegates; Barack Obama needs super delegates to win; and a marginal pledged delegate lead does not determine the outcome
THE PUNDITS
Barack Obama is substantially ahead in the popular vote; Florida and Michigan don’t count; therefore the race is essentially over
THE REALITY
The popular vote is virtually tied; half of Barack Obama’s narrow vote advantage is from his home state; and his lead excludes Florida and Michigan
THE PUNDITS
Once the remaining states vote, Barack Obama will be substantially ahead in delegates and votes and the race will be over
THE REALITY
The race is a dead heat now and no one knows where things will end up after millions of remaining voters in the upcoming states make their choice
THE PUNDITS
Hillary Clinton’s situation is dire; her campaign is struggling; her supporters are disillusioned and desperate
THE REALITY
Hillary Clinton and her supporters are calm, confident, and focused heading into the key
state of PA, where she is running strong
THE PUNDITS
Hillary Clinton’s campaign lacks significant grassroots energy; only one candidate has mobilized supporters to take action for the campaign
THE REALITY
Hillary Clinton’s supporters across America have written letters, blogged, donated tens of millions of dollars, volunteered millions of hours and made millions of calls
THE PUNDITS
There is a loud and growing chorus of voices asking Hillary Clinton to withdraw from the race
THE REALITY
Precisely the same number of voters (22%) think Barack Obama should drop out of the
race as Hillary Clinton
THE PUNDITS
Hillary Clinton is the candidate running a negative, divisive campaign; she is throwing the “kitchen sink” at Barack Obama
THE REALITY
Barack Obama has been throwing the sink, the stove, the plates and the garbage can at Hillary Clinton, attacking her integrity and character every day
THE PUNDITS
For Hillary to win the nomination, super delegates will have to “overturn the will of the
people”
THE REALITY
The will of the people is split and both candidates need - and are making their case to -
super delegates
THE PUNDITS
Hillary Clinton is threatening to poach pledged delegates from Barack Obama
THE REALITY
Barack Obama is reportedly already trying to poach pledged delegates from Hillary Clinton
THE PUNDITS
Florida and Michigan’s voters won’t be heard and their delegates won’t be seated all
because of complicated procedural roadblocks
THE REALITY
Barack Obama is intentionally disenfranchising voters in two critical states for purely political reasons, namely, that he’ll lose his small advantage if they count
THE PUNDITS
Every single word or action from Hillary Clinton, her campaign, her surrogates and her supporters is part of a calculated and cynical political strategy
THE REALITY
Hillary Clinton is a loyal Democrat, a lifelong public servant, a tireless and
tenacious candidate, and is fighting hard - and fair - to win with the help of millions of dedicated supporters

I live in Arizona and the problem is not McCain it’s Nepolitano. A Senator can’t do a bloody thing if the Governor is not on board and Nepolitano doen’t have the stones to take a hard stand.
The Pundits
The Democrats will take the White House in November ‘08.
The Reality
John McCain is your daddy!
McCain does suck on his stance over Illegal Aliens aka Undocumented Americans (a al Harry Reid = Satan’s son); however, the democrats are acting like drunk clowns in a rodeo - losing voters daily –should be their mantra. Heck, it is their mantra.
I understand McCain’s gonna show in Philadelphia in a few weeks to attend a class reunion with the Founding Fathers
Now Ed, that’s not quite true, they were senior when he was only a freshman.
Mccain is the only candidate with real presidential appeal.
Obama and Hillary are like larry and moe without the curly.
Mindbender–You’re right, I was off by a couple years.
I’ve been hearing rumours that McCain and Ted Kennedy are going to open free lemonade stands at the border.
SCOTT919, Thanks for the info, knew nothing about Arizona governor, makes me feel better about Mccain. He will be getting my vote.
Hey mindbender and edfeeney there is one hard truth and that is (if you live long enough
you will get old) you both will. I hope smarter
Obama disputed what he called an overstated notion that Wright was his “spiritual adviser” or “mentor.”
Now Obama is flip flopper too huh…just something else to add to his woes.
If the only thing we have on Mccain is his age(his mother is still alive and kicking),he still looks better than the other two(RADICAL,LIAR)
I believe most Americans know what issues we face as a nation as we try to decide which candidate(s) will best resolve them. We see in John McCain’s life, past and present a devotion to serve his country. Anyone who knows Senator McCain will tell you that he has passion for what he believes in and a constant drive to serve his country to the best of his abilities with sincerity, truthfulness, and dedication.
I remember seeing John on the Forrestall the morning of the flight deck fire, he was really beat up, but after some medical treatment he was transferred to the Enterprize and joined up with an attack squadron and that same day launched off in a A6A attack aircraft to provide close ground air support for our troops in Viet Nam. That same day his aircraft was shot down and he was taken prisoner.
Most Americans are aware of the courageous service John provided as a naval aviator and POW . But few can fully appreciate how bad the egregious hospitality of the Hanoi Hilton really was .His main concerns were for other POWs’ life threatening conditions and how he could help them is spite of the injuries he had received prior to and during his confinement.
Our convictions about John’s character were born in the crucible of adversity. We have witnessed his courage, integrity, character and intellect. We know and greatly respect his sense of honor and his tenacity in the face of grave danger and prolonged hardship(s). These qualities, combined with his life experiences, make John ready for the enormous challenges facing the leader of our country. No one — no one – has a greater knowledge of what war is really like or more qualified to be president, to lead our country and protect our nation. Some pretend to know him or deride his physical short comings but do nor know his physical strengths, his love of country and his commitment to serve it. He has been severely tested, and we have witnessed him under pressure. We trust his judgment and his ability to surround himself with our countries best advisors to lead our country without the BS to lead his beloved country and countrymen.
.We could do a whole lot worse than vote for John Mc Cain as our next president of the United States for every man, woman and child in our country regardless of their political affiliation. In John’s administration there are no Democrats or Republicans only Americans.
God Speed John Mc Cain
None of the candidates will do squat to secure the Southern border. Even if they tried Pelosi and Reid would kick and scream until the Worst Congress Ever overturned whatever the president was trying to do.
McCain is the best of what’s left, there’s no doubt about that.
[...] National Committee Chairman Friday morning.Responding to news of McCain’s scheduled biography tour to highlight his service record next week, Dean said, “Americans want a real leader who offers [...]

Since Obama is running for the highest office of this Nation he needs to be held up to the same standards as anyone else. If we start giving Obama a break purely based on his race we are not being fair to him and some might say even racist. Thus, what would you think of a Presidential candidate who was a member of a church for twenty years whose preacher mentor and friend spewed anti-black, anti-American and anti-semitic sermons whose church’s magazine gave a life time achievement award to David Duke? Would you vote for him?
…Probably not, since you put it that way.
Obama will bring change - if he’s elected I’ll need to ‘change’ my shorts because I will surely soil myself.
Open both eyes for a change people - all three candidates are seriously flawed by their willingness to bend this way and that for the sake of their ambition. But who has ever got to the top without being less than straightforward? Carter and Ford would be the only ones I can think of, and they are hardly the most memorable presidents you have had.
Hillary believes she knows best and is best. She subsumed her ambitions while Bill had his days in the sun, but there was obviously an understanding with him that when her turn came, he would make sure she got what she wanted. Trouble with arrangements like that is you have 300 million other people who aren’t in on the deal. I distrust her because she is clearly an ‘ends justify means’ operator - lies, exaggerations, smears are all part of the game.
Obama has clearly had his eyes on the prize for a long time, and has made some pretty serious mistakes along the way. Money is so important in American politics I guess all politicians look at contributors through rose-coloured glasses. He should have distanced himself from Rezko way earlier and more clearly, but then, they all have problems in that department!
The real agenda behind Obama’s membership of that church is fairly straightforward in my view. Although his ambition was to go all the way as a black-but-not-too-black liberal politician, he knew having black credentials was still crucial as he built a base. So… join and be seen in a radical-end church, but as an observer rather than a driving force. Oops - seems that that one came back to bite him on the bum!
McCain is like Hillary in that he thinks it is his turn and has made some uncomfortable compromises to make it happen. Even though he was let off the hook over the Keating business, it’s obvious he was pulling strings and doing favours for shady money and it went over the line, more so than in Obama’s case. And even though he said he had learnt his lesson, he repeated the pattern 10 years later with the lobbyist and her broadcasting client. He can’t have been so stupid as to accept the use of the guy’s private jet without suspecting a quid pro quo was expected. Recently, the Straight Talk Express has gone off the rails in ways that will really haunt him later in the year:-
Sucking up to the loony rightist churches. He is on record talking about the extreme preachers, Falwell and co, in very dismissive terms - “Dangerous to society” etc. Now, to try and buy the fundamentalist whites, he is accepting the backing of such haters as Hagee and Parsley. How good would it be if you elected someone as President that has recently embraced and called ‘a spritual guide’ a man who states that America’s mission must be to ‘destroy Islam’.
Sucking up to the Bush cabal. In his heart of hearts, he must loath and despise the people who assassinated him back in 2000. That was vicious and totally amoral. I suspect that after Bush junior got the nomination, McCain was quietened and sweetened by a promise that the Bush machine would ensure he got the next turn. That has led to some strange twists and turns over the last eight years, including the recent step-down by McCain on the use of torture. Boy, that one must have been hard to swallow, but if he wants the benefit of Bush’s support (for whatever that is worth!) and more importantly Rove’s Machiavellian scheming, he is still being expected to toe the line.
They are all ambitious, they are all flawed, but ultimately, I believe they are all intelligent and have the country’s best interests at heart, from their various viewpoints. I don’t think any of them is likely to spring a whole secret agenda on the US as Bush did with his neocon clique waiting in the wings. Certainly, they are all light years ahead of what you brought upon youselves over the last eight years!
Yep, I’m a liberal at heart. But I do try to absorb all the information out there, not just the stuff that backs up my set-in-concrete view of the world. How about we debate things as if we are adults who think and care, rather than some kind of ‘gotcha’ courtroom prosecutors who can only ever minimise the other side of any argument and blow our preferred side out of all proportion.
That is a great ad!
