Obama on Wright: “I have talked to him.”
New York, NY—
Barack Obama made an impromptu trip to the back of his plane today greeting reporters after his quick retreat to the Virgin Islands with his family, which he stressed was more of a “long weekend” than a vacation. Even though he told the journalists aboard that he just came back to “say hi” and he was “just chillin’,” the visit quickly turned in to a brief press conference.
He admitted to speaking to his former pastor Jeremiah Wright since the controversy surrounding some of Wright’s more inflammatory preachings came to light, “I have talked to him. I have not asked him to do anything.” He also responded to President Clinton’s comments earlier today when he said that “If a politician doesn’t wanna get beat up, he shouldn’t run for office. “ He agreed with the former President saying it is a “tough business,” but added that he is “proud” of how he has acted during the campaign referring to personal attacks and that he wants to “maintain” that “tone” throughout the campaign:
“I’ve been trying to do in this campaign is to see if we can change the tenor a little bit so that it’s more productive. I have no problem with having pretty fierce arguments about policy. President Clinton was the one who I think is the one that decried the politics of personal destruction, so obviously he recognizes that there is a line that can be crossed. I’m not suggesting it’s been crossed in this campaign but a line can be crossed when you stop focusing on the American people’s business, and it becomes just sport. It all becomes about winning as opposed to getting stuff done. And that’s part of the political culture I’d like to change. I’m not naive to think that it changes is entirely.” Obama told reporters on the flight from Greensboro, N.C. to New York City, “And as much as possible I want to maintain that tone not just through the primary but if I’m fortunate enough though the general election.”
The topic of the seemingly never-ending nomination battle came up and Obama said that Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen’s proposal of wrapping up the Democratic contest in June was “a good one” adding that more time for the Democratic nominee will help the Democrats in November, “If that has to involve some formal meeting as opposed to everybody saying it’s time for us to make a decision. I think giving whoever the nominee is two or three months to pivot into the general election is extremely helpful as opposed to having this drag on for two more months all the way up to the convention. I think that would be disruptive and hard on the party as well as the nominee. “
The Democratic frontrunner will be delivering a speech on the economy tomorrow morning in New York and hinted that he will cover what “helped trigger the financial crisis and financial problems” and offer “some very specific prescriptions” to try and remedy the situation.
He also weighed in on a letter that several Clinton supporters and Democratic Party donors sent to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi criticizing her statements on the roles of super delegates in choosing the Democratic nominee, “As far as I can tell Speaker Pelosi has staked her claim, she hasn’t made an endorsement in the campaign. She like many others have expressed an opinion about how this might ultimately get resolved and obviously her primary concern is making sure that she maintains and ultimately builds her majority in the house. “
Before returning to the front of the plane he told the reporters that he didn’t watch any television in the Virgin Islands and therefore didn’t catch the footage of Hillary Clinton landing in Bosnia as First Lady which discredited her earlier statements saying she ran from the plane while “under sniper fire.” Clinton has since said that she misspoke.

Did Mr Obama mention standing beside the General who once said “I hope we are in Iraq for 100 years….” while he attacked Bill Clinton in one of the gamiest things I’ve ever seen…
We know exactly what tone Obama wants in this campaign. His campaign has “accidently” leaked lots of the “point the finger at the racists” memo.
Taking out bits of a sermon is what a demon will do to distract the word of God. This is an evil act how long will it be before the Lord has had enough and bring this evil to an end. Word of the Lord is in the sermon so an attack on his followers is an attack on him right or wrong. You have passed judgement on a man who have brought many people to the Lord. How many souls have you brought to the Lord?

If you think Hillary made a mistake on Bosnia, or if you do not believe she made a simple mistake
please google the following words*below then click on web page and watch the video.
I think you might find it VERY interesting -we did.
*Middle east money Clinton’s donations by Arabs and Chinese
Hillary Rodham Clinton is just anxious to get to the convention so her longtime associates can bail her out and win this election for her, because she obviously can’t do that for herself. Time after time she has set firewalls that have been broken down and I personally find it offensive about her remarks on her Bosnia trip. She spat in the face of all the people that protected her and her daughter that day. If it was such a dangerous situation what in the world was she doing bringing her daughter to that situation. If that had been a normal person children’s services would be involved.
Ron,
You’re kinda sexy when you preach!
If you’re okay with pastors who preach hate and hostility between the races, I guess you’d be open to homosexual activity, and even perhaps sex with sheep? If so, I say, “Amen, my brother!”
“I have talked to him. I have not asked him to do anything.”
BS
You’d think the man, in a political yr,would have used his time more wisely, and visited the troops, but.then if you can’t put your hand over your heart, when the national Anthem is being played, how could you think that he even remembers there’s troops out there fighting to save his sorry rear end…….This guy is a deceiver, and not worth the space he occupys
this is pathetic>>>dont you get it? neither demoncrat is trustworthy and neither is smart enough to remember what lie they told last.. and now, obama is spending all of his time defending his preacher(wow, what a bad move)..rezco, farrakhan, in the pew,not in the pew, nafta, grandma, rev.meeks, william ayers..and now the latest>>obama said he was conceived because his mother and father met at the SELMA march>>big problem…obama was born 4 years before the march…obama said he spoke fluent indonesian(which he never did) ..this fiasco is making our country look like a 3 ring circus and obama, rev.wright, farrakhan, rev.meeks, william ayers, michelle obama, nancy pelosi, jack murtha, dingy harry, hillary, bill, norman schu, whitewater, universal health care and the popcorn machine that hillary mistook as sniper fire are all the clowns !!! PATHETIC !!!!!!!!!
It’s very important for leaders to be able to chill sometimes. I can make one stronger. “Leaders are not robots.”
Good for Obama for “just chillin.”
Meant to say “it” can make one stronger.
Ed Feeney, stop going under my name and speaking your dribble. I guess your boyfriends left you at home tonight and now you are taking your frustration out on me as usual. Lets discuss the issues pal. Would that be to big for a dishonorably discharged gutter rat like yourself to do. Put down the bottle son. It can only help you.
Leave Obama alone! The real liar is HiLiar Clinton
Jeremiah Wright’s full 9/11 sermon:
“Every public service of worship I have heard about so far in the wake of the American tragedy has had in its prayers and in its preachments, sympathy and compassion for those who were killed and for their families, and God’s guidance upon the selected Presidents and upon our war machine, as they do what they do and what they gotta do — paybacks.
There’s a move in Psalm 137 from thoughts of paying tithes to thoughts of paying back, A move, if you will from worship to war, a move in other words from the worship of th God of creation to war against those whom God Created. And I want you to notice very carefully this next move. One of the reasons this Psalm is rarely read, in its entirety, because it is a move that spotlights the insanity of the cycle of violence and the cycle of hatred.
Look at the verse; Look at the verse; Look at verse nine: [rising voice] “Happy shall they be who take your little ones and dash them against the rocks.”[lower voice] The people of faith are the rivers of Babylon. How shall we sing the Lord’s song? If I forget the order … The people of faith, have moved from the hatred of armed enemies [rising voice]–these soldiers who captured the king; those soldiers who slaughtered his son, that put his eyes out; those soldiers who sacked the city, burned, burned the towns, the burned the temple, burned the towers, they have moved from the hatred of [loudest voice] armed enemies to the hatred of unarmed innocents — [low voice] the babies, the babies.
Blessed are they who dash your baby’s brains against a rock. And that, my beloved, is a dangerous place to be, yet that is where the people of faith are in the 551BC, and that is where far too many people of faith are in 2001 AD. We have moved from the hatred of armed enemies to the hatred of unarmed innocents. We want revenge, we want paybacks, and we don’t care who gets hurt in the process.
Now I asked the Lord, what should our response be in light of such an unthinkable act, but before I share with you what the Lord shared with me I want to give you one of my little faith footnotes.
Visitors, I often give little faith footnotes, so that our members don’t lose sight of the big picture, let me give you a faith footnote. Turn to your neighbor and say, “Faith footnote.” [Voices: "Faith footnote"]
[Begin faith footnote]
I heard Ambassador Peck on an interview yesterday. Did anybody else see him or hear him, he was on Fox News. This is a white man, and he was upsetting the Fox News commentators to no end. He pointed out, (Did you see him, John?) –a white man– he pointed out– an ambassador– that what Malcolm X said when he got silenced by Elijah Mohammad was in fact true, America’s chickens are coming home to roost.
We took this country, by terror, away from the Sioux, the Apache, the Arrowak (phonetic) the Comanche, the Arapajo, the Navajo. Terrorism–we took Africans from their country to build our way of ease and kept them enslaved and living in fear. Terrorism. We bombed Grenada and killed innocent civilians — babies, non-military personnel. We bombed the black civilian community of Panama with Stealth Bombers and killed unarmed teenagers, and toddlers, pregnant mothers and hard working father. [fullest voice] We bombed Khadafi, his home and killed his child. Blessed be they who bash your children’s head agains the rocks.
[fullest voice] We bombed Iraq, we killed unarmed civilians trying to make a living. We bombed the plant in Sudan to payback for the attack on our embassy — killed hundreds of hard working people –mothers and fathers, who left home to go that day, not knowing they’d never get back home. [Even fuller voice] We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New
York and the Pentagon and we never batted an eye. Kids playing in the playground, mothers picking up children after school — civilians not soldiers. People just trying to make it day by day. We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and South Africa and now we are indignant? Because the stuff we have done overseas is brought back into our own front yard.
America’s chickens are coming home, to roost. Violence begets violence. Hatred begets hatred, and terrorism begets terrorism.
[lower voice] A White ambassador said that, y’all, not a black militant. Not a Reverend who preaches about racism, an ambassador whose eyes are wide open, and whose trying to get us to wake up, and move away from this dangerous precipice upon which we are now poised. The ambassador said that the people we have wounded don’t have the military capability we have, but they do have individuals who are willing to die and take thousands with them, and we need to come to grips with that.
Let me stop my faith footnote right there, and ask you to think about that over the next few weeks if God grants us that many days. Turn back to your neighbor, and say, “Footnote is over.” [Voices: "Footnote is over."]
[End Faith Footnote]
[Gentle voice] Now, now. C’mon back to my question to the Lord, “What should our response be right now. In light of such an unthinkable act. I asked the Lord that question Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
I was stuck in Newark, New Jersey. No flights were leaving La Guardia, JFK, or Newark Airport. On the day tht the FAA opened up the airports to bring into the desinations of cities those flights that had been diverted because of the hijacking, a scare in New York close all three regional airports and I couldn’t even get her for Mr. Radford’s father’s funeral. And I asked God, “What should our response be?
I saw pictures of the incredible. People jumping from the 110th floor; people jumping from the roof because the stair wells and elevators above the 89th floor were gone– no more. Black people, jumping to a certain death; people holding hands jumping; people on fire jumping. [plaintiff high voice] And I asked the Lord, “What should our response be?” I read what the people of faith felt in 551BC. But this is a different time, this is a different enemy, a different world, a different terror. This is a different reality. What should our response be, and the Lord showed me three things. Let me share them with you quickly and I’m gonna leave you alone to think about the faith footnote.
Number one: The Lord showed me that this is a time for self-examination. [cheers] As I sat 900 miles away from my family and my community of faith, two months after my own father’s death, God showed me that this was a time for me to examine my relationship with God. MY own relationship with God– personalrelationship with God.
I submit to you that it is the same for you. Folk flocked to the church in New Jersey last week, you know that foxhole-religion syndrome kicked in, that emergency chord religion, you know that little red box you pull in emergency? It showed up in full force. Folk who aint thought about coming to church in years, were in church last week. I heard that mid-week prayer services all over this country which are poorly attended fifty-one week a year were jam packed all over the nation the week of the hijacking the 52nd week. [inaudible]
But the Lord said, this aint the time for you to be examining other folks relationship this is a time of self examination. But the Lord said, “How is “our” relationship doing Jeremiah? How often do you talked to me personally, how often do you let me talk to you privately? How much time do you spend trying to get right with me, or do you spend all your time trying to get other folk right?
This is a time for me to examine my own relationship with God. Is it real or is it fake? Is it forever or is it for show? Is is something that you do for the sake of the public or is it something that you do for the sake of eternity? [voice rising] This is a time for me to examine my own, and a time for you to examine your own relationship with God — self examination.
[end of video tape.]
Does Wright know that there were very few Plantation/ Slave owners in relation to the European/White population in the states at that time?
Do they understand thousands of white men died to free them?
Do they know that their own people sold/traded them into slavery? They didn’t jump ship and hope to round up people every few months like people want to think…it was a trading route all the way round.
Does Wright and his cheering congregation not see that after many hard, tacky years that they are better off than those who traded them back in Africa?
i doubt if obama would be the frontrunner if the people had known about his mentor…he has decieved the voters and will pay the price in nov. if he happens to get the prize. i am not a racist at all and fell that he is…
he is dangerous to america and all the people (all race and color). period.
jean
florida voter that obama doesnt want to count till nov…
A quote from Rev. Wright once was every black person ain’t your friend and every white person ain’t your enemy.
If you really took the time and research Dr. Wright, you will see he is not what the media is making him to be.
DEE
He recognizes Farakhan…a man as scary as Hitler…a man who hates the Jews, God’s people.
jean what exactly did he say to make you think he is dangerous to anyone?
I mean besides what you have read and the sound bytes, how do you really think he is dangerous? This is america and I thought everyone had the freedom to say what they want to say is that not true?
I have read and listened to both sermons and I took each one of the statements he made and I research what he said and I found that he was not the only person to believe what he says, there are endless of information about the orgins of aids, the chemical warfare, the three strikes you are law.
Obama has picked a mentor like no one I have ever been around…I have had many Christian mentors over the years, and none were bitter and hateful…It is scary to me that anyone is defending Wright, or Obama’s and Michelle’s choice to associate with them!
He also went with Farakhan, to libya with Rev. Jackson to free an american soldier and bought him back home. He did not honor farrakhan, an award named after him was given to farrakhan, by a magazine that belongs to the church, the award was for the program that farrakhan helped get started for recovering drugs and alcholics
Tell me KS
Have you been to his church?
Have you listened to one full sermon?
Have you done any research the church to see the programs and all the good they have done in the community? or is what you are thinking based on what you have seen from the media?
Did you know he was a marine?
Did you know he assisted in President Johnson’s operation?
Jackson is as bad…one who is known to black-mail people. You notice he is rarely interviewed anymore after that was revealed.
Alan Keyes, Colin Powell, Conde Rice, Bill Cosby, etc…these are a few of the black people I admire…BUT not any of those you mention.
I run a benevolence office where I see drug addicts everyday…and America did not sell them the drugs or give them AIDS
I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR MORE ABOUT OBAMA THAT WERE LIES ABOUT HIMSELF TOLD BY DALE ROVE. IT SEEMS HIS LIFE STORY IS ALL A LIE AND EVERYONE SHOULD WONDER WHY. NOW WHAT I HAD KNOWN WAS THAT HE HAD A STEP FATHER THAT WAS A RADICAL THAT LIVED IN INDONESIA AND THAT OBAMA HIMWELF WENT TO A JIHAD SCHOOL. I HAVE THEIR NAMES IF ANYONE WANTS TO SEARCH IT OUT. I GUESS YOU CAN FIND IT OUT GOING TO SCOPE.COM
NOW, THE DEMOCRATS DID WANT TO BRING BACK THE DRAFT, DO THEY STILL HAVE THAT INTENTION ? I FEEL THAT SHOULD BE A REALLY HOT ISSUE.
WRIGHT AND HHIS CHURCH ARE RACISTS AND THAT MAKES OBAMA A RACIST IF HE GIVES THAT CHURCH THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS, WHICH HE DOES AND GOES TO THE CHURCH. THE COLORED PEOPLE SUPPORT HIM BECAUSE OF THIS, BUT IF HE BECOMES PRESIDENT WILL HE FORGET ABOUT THEM AND BECOME FRIENDS WITH THE ENEMY IRAN AND SYRIA BECAUSE HE WAS AND MAYBE STILL IS A MUSLIM. I SAY, WE CAN’T TAKE A CHANCE ON IF HE IS A RADICAL MUSLIM AND POSSIBLY THAT IS WHAT HIS CHURCH IS UNDER A DIFFERENT NAME SO THE AMERICANS DO NOT KNOW THEM AS RADICAL MUSLIMS.
I DEFINITELY WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE REAL TRUTH OF HIS PREVIOUS YEARS THAT ROVE SPOKE ABOUT THAT WERE LIES AND HIS STEP DAD AND THE SCHOOL HE WENT TO IN INDONESIA.
You have to understand the nature of the black church. Our real history is not in the books that are in schools, We don’t know our full story. and the children of the day really don’t. The only place we really get to know what is going on is in our churches. Our church has to serve as our source of learning about our struggles and how in to get pass them.
To be taken from your mother land, live as slaves and later live in poverty and struggles all your life is something if you ever had to endure what we deal with as african american people on a daily basis, you might understand. So when our preachers get up on the pulpit, they often get carried away because that is the nature of the church, but what they preach about needs to be learned, because you are unhappy with the government does not mean you wish harm on anyone including the place where you are born, and raise your family.
Obama more likely than not had significant influence within his church…to think he had nothing to do with the “honor” to Farakan is beyond believeability. This coupled with the pride in the listing on his web site the “new black panthers” suggests strongly a person who likely should not ever been elected to the US Senate. I concur with others who believe Obama deceived the voters who have given him a delegate majority, I really wonder if they had it to do over again whether they really would have voted for him. As even more hateful speech comes out on this “pastor” it is going to paint a further disturbing picture of misinformation. AND HE IS QUALIFIED FOR PRESIDENT??????
Dee, do YOU love this country? Or do you think GD America as well? I have done research on Rev. Wright, and I have read some of his sermons. While there is some good in them, the horrible rotten things he has said about our country, whites, and slandering other people was just too much. There is NO WAY my butt would have remained in that pew for 20 years! My Pastor has NEVER spoken ill of our country or people. He has spoken of acts that have been committed against God’s will, but has NEVER called out a person, or race by name, NEVER! Rev. Wrights ties to Farrakhan MAKE ME SICK!
And, your candidate has done more damage to this election cycle than any other candidate has, even those who have since dropped. Everyone must tiptoe around Obama or he will cry foul… they are using race. Obama and his surrogates brought on the whole race issue, not Clinton, Edwards, McCain, Huckabee or Romney, but Obama. He has told plenty of lies himself, even BEFORE he started running for President. Why don’t you look those up?
You need to do more homework before you spew your lies and hatred. All the candidates have their good points and their bad points, find out for yourself what they are, don’t just “pretend” to know. And no, I am not endorsing HRC!
Wright is not a perfect person. He is stuck in the past in many ways. It wasn’t until today that I’ve heard anything racial about him. (referring to the Italians) He often decries “white racism,” which some see as racist itself.
Admittedly, he does not come across well. I don’t believe in wrapping your message around a grenade, because all that’s left is the BOOM! That’s his biggest problem, as far as I see.
KS. you have to admit, black people are poor, they don’t have any money, planes, or boats to bring anything into america.
A white persons drug of choice is cocaine, a black person’s is crack.
both are cocaine, but if you get caught with crack you will get three time the sentence as a person who get caught with the same amount of cocaine.
Yes I knew he was a marine and I have done much research before all this hit the fan…I am a Christian and nowhere in the Bible is there anything about Black Liberation theology…there are God’s people and the gentiles who are adopted in. Ham is who the blacks descend from, Shem is the arab and jewish nations, and Japheth is the Indian/European group. But nothing about Black Liberation theology…we all descend from Noah…ALL of us…period!
Dee, give it a rest! I have been to “black churches” before and NONE were like Rev. Wrights. There was a lot of singing and Amen’s, but no swearing from the pulpit.
Dee, how do you think Native Americans feel?
You’d think the man, in a political yr,would have used his time more wisely, and visited the troops
You would think that he would be able to spend time with his kids. I hope when that horse you are on bucks you don’t land in s&*^$$
I see poor people in every race…yes the blacks had a harder start than most…BUT look, they are doing well…
The fact of the matter is that the ones who want to hang on to the past in such a strong way and assume all whites are out to get them are the ones staying down.
CORRECTION. IT WAS CARL ROVE WHO TOLD THAT THE STORY OBAMA TOLD WAS HIS LIFE WAS ALL A LIE. I WANT TO HEAR MORE ABOUT HOSE LIES.
I WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE JIHAD SCHOOL OBAMA WENT TO WHEN HE LIVED IN INDONESIA.
I WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT HIS STEP DAD THAT LIVED IN INDONESIA AND WAS A RADICAL MUSLIM.
CHECK OUT SCOPE.COM
I WANT TO KNOW IF THE EMOCRATS STILL WANT TO BRING BACK THE DRAFT.
I WANT TO KNOW IF THE DEMOCRATS ARE REALLY GOING TO INCREASE TAXES.
Yes I love this country, but no I am not happy with how I have to live, and I am not happy with how I have to live. I have worked and struggled all my life, I have never committed a crime. But I have witness first hand racism.
Why is sitting in his church any different then the people who sat in churches side by side with kkk proclaiming the glory of christ? All those people that held us as slaves, lynched us and did what ever thought of us a less then whole human beings sat in church and some probably preached while the members of the congregation came to church week after week, but they separated the person from the church.
American first
Democrat second
Hillary or McCain 08
No Bama No More
who told you we are doing well?
Why do black people need to explain about their church. Read or listen to the whole sermon. Judge not least you be judged.
I am not trying to convince anyone to like rev. wright, he may have said some reckless things, but he was trying to get his point across, If we are a nation of christian, then we should not judge anyone and certainly a entire church on what the media says.
SLAVES WERE 200 YEARS AGO. WHY DO THE BLACKS STILL USE IT AS A CRUTCH. IN TODAY’S WORLD, MANY GENERATIONS SINCE SLAVERY, WE HAVE TO GET A GOOD EDUCATION EVERYONE’S DESTINY IS THEIR OWN TO MAKE. IF ANYONE IS TO LAZY TO HELP THEMSELVES THEY WILL BE POOR AND MAKE THE GOVERNMENT SUPPORT THEM.
RECENTLY I HEARD ON 2 % OF THE PEOPLE ACTUALLY WORK. THAT IS REALLY PRETTY BAD. OBVIOUSLY THE REST OF THE PEOPLE ARE LIVING OFF THE GOVERNMENT IN SOME WAY.
Vicki Obama is not my candidate.
There are more white people on welfare. And what you just said is a racist statement Roberta.
MAKE OBAMA PUT ON A FLAG LAPEL PIN, SAY THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGANCE AND SAY GOD BLESS AMERICA. IF HE DOESN’T DO IT, SHIP HIM OFF TO WHATEVER COUNTRY HE GIVES HIS LOYALTY TO.
I HEAR THE CHURCH HE GOES TO DEVOTES THEIR LOYALTY TO THE CHURCH OF AFRICA.
CHECK OUT SCOPE.COM ON WHO IS OBAMA
It is my wish that before I leave this world, I will really be able to see that all people are treated equally regardless of race, creed or color, but unless you walk in our shoes. I don’t really realize why we still feel like second class citizens.
DEE, IT WAS NOT RACIST. IF ONLY 2% WORK IN THIS COUNTRY THAT MEANS MANY NATIONALITIES GET HELP FROM THE GOVERNMENT. HOW CAN THAT BE REACIST ?
I AM SURE EVERYONE IS DESCRIMINATED AGAINST BY SOMEONE. ESPECIALLY IF THEY WANT TO FEEL THAT WAY.
DEE
Oprah is not doing well? Need I list all the names?
I run a benevolence, like I said, and I witness racism too! Every week, when I have to turn someone away because of many reasons…blacks always say you are just here to help the whites…when 80% of those we end up helping are either hispanic or black.
They call our mission minister prejudice to his face, and what is so funny is they don’t realize he spent 20 years of his life in Africa trying to reach them for Christ.
Have you checked out how much Obama gave to poor people; it is far, far less than me and he makes much. much more. And did he just give to black causes? Sounds like it. I don’t chose a charity by race.
Michelle Obama on Americans.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtIHTFuMnWI
Dee, I’m sorry if I offended you. Your posts seem to support Obama. However, it is the comments like yours that won’t allow this country to move forward. The past can not be undone. In order to make this a better world, everyone needs to hold their heads up and be accountable for their own actions. Not things that were done hundreds of years ago.
I am not black, but my grandmother was Native American, Indian. When I was a little girl, she told me I would learn a lot about the Indian people in school that wasn’t true, that our school books did not always tell the whole story. She also told me to hold my head up and be proud of the person that I was, and not to feel shame, remorse or resentment from what I would hear from other people. We make our own destiny and can not blame what happens to us on what was done to “our people” before us.
Just something to think about.
I want you to know that I love everyone, and I don’t hate anyone, I never was taught to hate anyone only to love as god love. In my church there is nothing but love and fellowship. I have never heard anything about black liberation, and if you check out the website: tucc.org, you will understand what part of the black liberation doctrine is applied within the church. I have raised my children in that church and never have I heard any preaching of hatred. I don’t have to do any research because I know about the church and what they are talking about is not the church I have attended all these years.
I would NEVER belong to a church that preached hatred for anyone and I belong to that church.
OBAMA told Pastor Wright to STFU. He said do not open your racist pie hole for the rest of my campaign. Capiche?

It is my wish that before I leave this world, I will really be able to see that all people are treated equally regardless of race, creed or color, but unless you walk in our shoes. I don’t really realize why we still feel like second class citizens.
_____________________________________________________________
Did you ever think you stillfeel like secons class citizens because Rev Wright keeps telling you are.
It really hurts me to hear all the bad things people are saying. and do you know that since this has come out our church has had bomb threats? Now tell me what kind of love for this country is that for someone to threathen to kills thousands of innocent children, women and men of faith?
Rev. Wright has never called us second class citizen, We have a sense of pride and dignity.
I sit here and read about how people are turning everything around and I am amazed with how easy it is to get people to think the way you want them to think. No body asked any members of our church what goes on in the church, no one asked any of our children what are they taught, most people that make these unkind statements have not even listened to an entire sermon of rev, wright.
Dee, many of the things that have been said by Rev. Wright and his church members have hurt many citizens of the USA too.
just saw another video clip of michelle obama talking about how stereotypes are “amercian”. gotta see it for yourself but i dont know where. i saw it on tv where she was at a college in january 2008 and said that she understnads why people sit with their own in the lunchroom but that they should cause the community is diverse. then she turned around and said that she understands though they peole do not want to mix and mingle because of stereotpes and then said “thats america”. i have to say that i have heard her say twice something that makes me think she is anti amercian. if you say it onece you may have not meant it but when you say ot agaion, i feel like you really do mean it. i now beleive that she si anti american and why wouldnt she be when she has been listening to wright for many years. if she is antiamerican then obama has to be too. he hides it better though.
I have seen white people come and go in that church all the time, and they are treated with nothing but kindness.
Remember this guy? No racism or anti-american crap being spued out of his mouth. Obama ” I have never heard this stuff from him”. The next day, ‘did i hear this stuff, yes i did”. This is not about Obama being close to Wright it’s about judgement and Obama shows very bad judgement! Drop out now Obama!
http://youtube.com/watch?v=hZ38N8OUg3Q
In fact, We have bus loads of white people from other churches come to see rev. wright method of teaching.
How are all you “typical white people” doing today?
I hate to hear that, but he is spewing hateful, untruthful remarks. My church is on the TV every Sunday, and in no way would we ever put up with someone like Wright.
DEE, try watching Charles Stanley on Sunday…his church congregation is filled with blacks and whites and he preaches the truth. Period!
In my home town we have a black pastor who is growing a very diverse congregation due to his truth and love.
My church has a few blacks, but a large number of Hispanics are joining.
Christ would have never spoken like Wright…after all he went through, he said forgive them father for they know not what they do!
How can you be anti american if you are an american? Can’t you simply be upset with the way the government runs things without being anti-american. Do you approve of everthing the government?
Rev. Wright sermons were broadcast every week, on television, internet, and radio, don’t you think that if he really was this racist, you would have heard from him before now? the only reason you hear of him now is that he was obama’s pastor.

It really hurts me to hear all the bad things people are saying. and do you know that since this has come out our church has had bomb threats? Now tell me what kind of love for this country is that for someone to threathen to kills thousands of innocent children, women and men of faith?

Unfortunately Dee there are people who just don’t understand violence solves nothing. I myself have no trouble with your church or Afro Centric views. I do have trouble with Rev Wright and his Anti American statements. I have even more trouble with a man who says he wants to be the President of the United States who chooses to sit through these kind of sermons and expects us to believe his is a unifier. I also and to me this is amusing that Obama could stand in front of the nation and tell us how we need to heal and become united and yet he couldn’t say this to either the congregation or his mentor.
Doug, thanks,I am doing fine. obama, not so much
The fact is there is trash in every race, and we are all sinners…BUT Wright is a leader representing my Lord and Savior…and it makes me mad that anyone thinks this is okay. He owes every Christian an apology.
I really wonder if we had a video tape of everyone in the world and only clips were put together of what you said, I wonder how many of us would have to explain what we said.?
No actually I knew about him before.
SHOW ME WHERE HE SPEWED HATRED IN THIS SERMON, I AM OPEN TO LEARN
[end of video tape.]
m-antony. I am fine also. I agree, Obama is not doing so fine. Obama should drop out of this race today! Obama step aside and let the real leader Hillary Clinton lead this country to prosperity! It’s the RIGHT thing to do!!!!
Dee, do you ever accidentally misspell your name as Pee? When that happens do people instinctively reach down and wipe off their legs? Just curious.
