Well glad to see Hillary has the guts to speak on this, every senator…even candidates ….should speak up on this. …. and it’s not about race folks.

Well race isn’t the point to me…I believe Obama deliberately tried to make the Rev. Wright’s sermons a race issue simply because the press is so totally afraid of appearing racist that it was the best way to staunch the showing of those clips…and it worked. Immediately few showed them anymore and those that did had the sound turned off. Then the press fell all over themselves to show they weren’t prejudice by calling Obama’s Great Speech” the greatest story ever told.

It WAS a brilliant speech…but people tend to forget that the purpose was to try to eliminate the pastor’s Anti-American remarks by any means necessary. People, especially whites, are trying hard to forget the racial problems of the past and want to do and forgive anything to try to heal the very real problems blacks have in the world.

I have no racial problems due to a good upbringing by parents that had no prejudices I ever saw …although I saw it everywhere else (I’m 58), it was a rough time for minorities, but I have no “white guilt” to overcome.

To me it comes down to everything unpatriotic….all the little things like no flag lapel, no hand over heart, his wife’s “proud of America for the first time”, Farrakan (sp) award, and the big one to me. .. Rev. Wright’s sermons.

The source of those sermons was the church bookstore and website…those weren’t taken out of context, those were among those the church was most proud of.

There is no way I can believe Obama has selective hearing enough to be unaware of them, it’s hard to even believe he wasn’t in the pews at least a couple times, his books are on sale in that same church bookstore, and the biggie… He is a US Senator, the highest ranking member of that church as to status, people would be falling all over themselves to talk to him…he simply had to know about almost anything going on in that church

Now to the point: Obama stayed in that church despite him knowing the radical, unpatriotic theme. These actions show a lack of strong patriotism or even deep love of country.

Obama was not outraged.

This is a unforgivable for a Senator running for President of the United States.

McCain can and does address the Issues facing this Nation and the Economy,
Is an Integral Part of the Defense Posture as well as the War on Terror?

The Sacrifice of our Military and their Families for the defense of this Nation is not,
and will “NOT Be in VAIN!” With 4,000 lives Lost, nor for the sacrifice that the first one Gave His All;
In my eye’s and/or in Mr. McCains Also.

Where will it go with respect to the Defense Budget and the Price Increases for Everything, from Gas to Eggs? The American, Consumer is Already Strapped to the Max with the Cost of Everyday Items.

Our Future Generations, Are backed into a corner with the Fiscal Irresponsibility of the;
Government Pork Barrel Spending and, Corporate Greed, Just like the DOT.COMM
Bubble in the 90’s!
And Individuals, that were trying to make “Quick Profits on their Buy, Flip and Grab another Fixer Upper for resale?” This, Was the Motivating factor.
Not, to belittle the “Home Buyer that just wanted to have the American Dream!”
Today it is about Pure Survival of the Family and Our Family Values!

Trying to Reward with our Grandchildren’s Future Taxes to cover the Speculators is; Wrong! Any Way You Try To, justify it. There are Consequences for your actions, and the right to fail is also one of those consequences.

No One is Guaranteed, a Government Sponsored Bailout, Not republican nor Democrat or Independents.

There is Justice, in the Financial System that rewards Good Management, Not Bad and Good Customers, Not those whom are trying to make a killing, and take advantage of the system or their Customers and Clients.

Good for Hillary. McCian already said rev. Wright would not be his pastor either. I’m glad Obama has been exposed before the people elected this man into office. It makes me sick how Obama sits in a church that only cares for one race (BLACK) only and he is half white. In fact Trinity is not a church but rather a cult that teaches hatred. Obama will not be remembered well in the history books and he only has himself to blame. Americans are sick of people like Rev. Wright, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson and guess what? And his so called great speech about Rev. Wright, all he did was turn it around and make it into a “race” speech acting like he is the ONLY ONE who can resolve race issues in this country, as if he is “above” everyone else! CNN has now stopped talking about Rev. Wright and again siding with Obama, MSNBC never stopped siding with Obama, ONLY Fox has the balls to call it as they see it….Obama the racist!
If Obama gets the nomination, I will not VOTE! I cannot stand to even look at him or hear his voice!

I am glad your parents did such a great job of raising you…,but you need to open your eyes about Obama, Wright and the direction this campaign has taken, in fact, race was the direction the Obama campaign was headed in all along. I am proud to say I am not mesmerized by Barak (Barry) Hussein Obama. Obama’s family was not pleased when he decided he wanted to be called Barak and not Barry. This move by Obama was not just for a more grown up name, but a name that aligned him more with his black half.

Wright’s sermons opened the floodgate on black anger. Many whites and other American ethnic groups have suffered at the hands of Affirmative Actions for years. “Reparations” for slavery is what blacks are looking for. Search the internet for “blacks feel they deserve reparations and more”.

I would like to see all Americans treated fairly, have a job, home, peace of mind; this will not happen because appeasement cannot be stopped now. Our welfare programs, promoted by liberal Democrats, have enslaved blacks.

In regards to the last paragraph of this article I find it truly amazing that the Obama camp has once again come out and tried to turn the tables on Hillary.

Obama spokesman Bill Burton responds “If Senator Clinton has decided that she now wants to play politics with this issue, that’s her disappointing choice, but it won’t do anything to help us solve the larger challenges facing this country.”

For one, Hillary has been speaking about the issues this whole time, while Obama was off giving a self-serving speech and trying to defend himself, his church and his pastor. If she was asked a question she finally decided it was time to answer and the answer was not long but to the point. The Obama campaign is constantly throwing attacks and misleading the public about Mrs. Clinton and where she stands on the issues. If they want to stick to the issues then they should look to themselves first.

I went back and read your comments again….I totally agree that sitting in this church for twenty plus years is forgiveable and Hussein Obama should be forced to resign from the Senate and Presidential Campaign.

I have never been a Clinton supporter (Bill or Hillary), but I do not feel that Hillary has received fair treatment by the media. It is hard to run against a candidate that cries fair play and unity…while supporting racism.

Ignorance is not bliss. I have read these (your) comments and it is evident that there is a racial divide. My question to you all is this: have you watched any of the sermons in their fullness before you posted anything or made your decisions? I had to see and hear them for myself because the media spin was and is slanted and I gotta say that some things were bothersome, but overall, I did not get this big blow out that you all have portrayed.

Hillary is speaking about the Rev. Wright in order to distract attention away from her lies about her foreign policy experience. She (Clinton) lied in a speech last week and throughout this camplain about her foreign and domestic policy experience and the media has not made it a big issue. What happen to non bias reporting? In the last month I have watched CNN, Fox, and MSNBS bet up on Obama but when Clinton outright lies and McCain flip flaps, they say they just “misspoke”. There was a time spanning the 70’s to the mid-90s when many blacks and whites in large American cities expressed the same feelings on street crime held by Obama’s grandmother. Indeed, the Rev. What is it that I and others expected Obama to do? A great leader with conscience and courage would have stood up and faced down anyone who engages in such conduct. I expect a president of the United States to have the strength of character to denounce and disown enemies of America — foreign and domestic — and yes, even his friends and confidants when they get seriously out of line.

What if a minister in a church attended primarily by white congregants or a rabbi in a synagogue attended primarily by Jews made comparable statements that were hostile to African-Americans? I have no doubt that the congregants would have immediately stood up and openly denounced the offending cleric.
Others would have criticized that cleric in private. Some would surely have ended their relationships with their congregation. Obama didn’t do any of these things. His recent condemnations of Wright’s hate-filled speech are, in my opinion, a case of too little, too late

For all folks calling Obama a racism, take a close look in the mirror and what you see is the real racist. Stop fooling yourself and admit what you are. Take your comments to you church leaders and ask if they agree with you, maybe than you will see where this is leading because divide we will continue to fall and detroy ourselves and this country.

It is also disturbing to me that Obama’s wife, Michelle, during a speech in Wisconsin last month, said, “For the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country, because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback.”
Strange. This is a woman who has had a good life, with opportunities few whites or blacks have been given. When she entered Princeton and Harvard and later became a partner in a prestigious law firm, didn’t she feel proud to be an American?
When she and the senator bought their new home, was there no feeling of accomplishment and pride in being a U.S. citizen? When her husband was elected to the state legislature and subsequently to the United States Senate, didn’t she feel proud of her country?

Hate monger…wow. I’ve know Dr. Wright for close to 30 years and hate monger is the last word that would ACCURATELY describe him. Of course, the 15 seconds of sound byte make you think this and Fox is continuously warping the minds of those who STILL believe that was OK to send 4000 young men and women to die because of wmd….oops…democracy in the desesrt…oops…fighting Al Qaida in Iraq..oops…Saddam violated UN sanction….yeah that’s it.

Here is a man who assisted in a heart operation on LBJ with access and a young man’s anger at a time when black folks were REALLY angry. One bad move and…….but…he hates white folks?

Well, there you have it. America has decided to, instead of working on the problem, “playing Wright’s sermons to the end of the primary” and “retreating to our respective corners.” This is the true legacy of America. America does not want to solve this problem. America does not want to look itself in the mirror for any of these problems because it is “unpatriotic.” The truth is, however, over racism and stupidity, we are losing a great candidate and a good man because we are judging him for the words of another, despite the fact that he himself came out and said which of Wright’s words he agrees with, and which he does not. But since we have so many Christians in here, I do hope that you remember Matthew 7:1. The standard that is applied to Barack Obama is a standard no one on this blog could possibly survive. I don’t care what you say, most of you have been, for years, associated with someone who has consistently said and done things that are racist, sexist, ignorant, disrespectful, and just plain wrong. We have had people like Trent Lott, Jesse Helms, and Strom Thurmond associated with the Republican party and past presidential candidates FOR DECADES. But we only judge the black candidate by that standard. But that’s ok. Because that passage in Matthew guarantees that everyone who is using that standard to judge Obama, will be judged themselves by it. Good luck folks. I’m praying for you. Unlike Obama’s wife, I have always been proud to be an American. I was disappointed when America re-elected Bush, but I was still proud. If Obama wins the nomination, I pray I will still be a proud American.
One other comment, I am not a Bushfan , however, I can understand why Hillary voted for giving Bush the power in Iraq, she trusted a man that the majority of the country trusted and re-elected. Bad decision yes, understandable of course. Now, Obama’s decision to stay in the racist church for 20 years, get married, have his children baptized there, bad decision yes, understandable, not in a million years.
