I heard his speeches, watched him in debates and felt he represented me as a new direction for America. What I see now from his lack of speed in addressing the Rev Wright’s comments is that he doesn’t realize that his sitting through even 1 of those sermons suggests that he legitimizes the Rev Wright’s philosophy. It is not God’s…for sure. But. as an American who serves his country and believes in the American ideals and values, bashing America…bashing white people…bashing our leadership is un-American, un-Christian, and un-Acceptable. Rev Wright represents a paranoid and resentful slice of society that has found an audience in their medium; in this case sermons to their followers. Rev Wright has it wrong, B Hussein O has accepted that for years. Shame on him!. I am now NOT looking a BHO as a candidate, but an embarrassment. I do see even more now that the election process has been doing its job and has revealed the dark side of a black man. i wish i could have seen him as just an American with less than adequate skills and beliefs for the American presidency job. Sorry, but I have ruled out BHO as president. Clinton and McCain are now under my close scrutiny.

He’ll wait to discuss the issues regarding his beliefs in regard to Wright’s racist views until his staff can properly spin it to be acceptable. So far, he refuses to give a straight answer on specifics of what Wright has said - what he agrees with and disagrees with. He has lied and no reputable media source should cover for him or coverup for him.

Education and religion often reach hand in hand but as President of the United States you are expected to act in a fair unpartial way to all Americans - not just black Americans. If it took Barrack Obama 20 years to learn the lesson that Rev Wright is a racist then we certainly don’t won’t him as President. His wife’s comments has certainly made us question her views and now it seems we know where they come from. Between Louis F, Resko, Rev Wright and the weatherman, how many more learning experiences does he need before he wakes up and realizes he too is a racist. I am not sure how someone that claims to have such love and respect for his mother and his grandparents can attend a church that teaches such hate, but Shame on Barrack Obama. What I have read here is so unfortunately typical of many Americans - assuming that what one person of one race says becomes a shared view of everyone of that race. That’s like saying if your Grandfather or Father is a former Klansman then you must be too. It is exactly the type of hatred that Rev Wright taught that makes Obama, a BI-racial American citizen, want to unite this country for a better future under his leadership.

Reverand Wright is not the first minister to speak on his extremist views in some form or fashion from his pulpit, but he is under fire now, primarily by the media, because he is African American. Sure, Clinton was accused for her supporter’s comments last week, but that wasn’t right either. Why should she be blamed for something someone else said? She shouldn’t, and that controversy dies within a day or two of Ferraro stepping down.

For those of you that support Clinton, I can understand you wanting to use this new controversy to fuel your cause…she didn’t have much else to stand on otherwise.

A minister inspires and reinforces your belief system. There is no doubt where Michelle Obama got her inspiration for her ” proud of country” speech. Although she is not running, she will be representing my country in the White House if he is elected. Obama is insulting our intelligence when he appears to be ignorant of the beliefs of his minister. Obama is another angry black man that is angry with America. How about a white man going to Klan meetings for 20 yrs. and then saying that he doesn’t agree with some of the things that are said at the meetings, and besides, the leader of the meeting was like an “uncle” to him. How would the black population take that?

Race, religion, and politics never mixes well. The comments from the pulpit by Reverend Wright are like fire lit under a caldron of hate. This does not bode well for our country. It didn’t work in the 60’s and it doesnt work now. I think Barack needs to come clean and simply state that this kind of negativity has shaped much of America and he has had to pass through this flame to be what he is become-a person to bring hope forward. Many Americans of all ’so called races’ have had to pass through this flame. His message must be about moving beyond the malaise for race hatred toward a place of hope where we are all safe and trusting in one another. This is perhaps one of the best things that could have happened. Now we can all join in and move the country forward. I still think he is the person to make it happen, should he step up to the plate!

I believe in the beginning of his campaign he addressed this. I hope he can clear this up once and for all. Like you i grew up in a home that was filled with racism, I also loved my family , but knew their beliefs were not mine.I used to argue with them, but it didn’t change their opinion so i just gave up. But there is no way i believe in there versions as the world should be.But i didn’t stay away from them either.
What sort of bothers me is that there are churches that preach against homosexuality but you dont hear people screaming about that. And there are biggoted preacher that spew their hatred but we are not hearing about them. I believe if Obama was so anti white someone would have noticed it by now? People that work with him or his wife?

Am I young? No, but thank you for the compliment. Am I black (assuming that may have been your next question) yes, in part as well as white. So I have to ask - why would Obama be a racist against half of his heritage? The half that raised him, educated him, and has supported him all of his life?

People have views and are entitled to them, right or wrong. If you do not support that then perhaps you are in the wrong party altogether. One person should not be punished for another man’s views.

And when I take race out of the equation, which Clinton and Obama have both had their controversies, and look at the issues of this campaign, I still support Obama’s platform.
