The clowns hosting “America’s HQ election” if they can stop gleeing everyting they mention Dr. Wrights comments maybe you would be more credible. This country has many different cultures and races with likes and dislikes for one another based on individual experiences. I would like to poll every individual, including the hosts to make sure that in their lifetime they never heard of racist or sexist comments made by friends. There was nothing special that this was done for Barrack; everybody who is a member of that church is entitled to the same treatment, that comes with being a member. Barrack has been in the Senate and running for President, do you really think he has had a chance to attend church on a regular bases. He has denounce the pastor and said emphatically that these statements do not represent his feelings. If he is going to be judged by these statements coming from another person then those people who said they were supporting him, really were not!!! My eldest son is biracial. He like Senator Obama was raised by a white woman and in a white family. My son met his father when he was 5. On the outside my son looks Black but on the inside he only knows White. He would be more accepted by the Black community but he can’t identify with them in same way he can his White ancestry. His wife is White and recently took my son to Texas to meet her father who was appalled that his daughter was partnered with someone of another race. They loved Michael because they could identify with him and he could identify with them. He was able to change their way of thinking in a way that no other person of Color has been able to do.

I see the plight of Senator Obama as being similar to my son. He has had to learn his “Blackness” because he wasn’t raised with it. This is where I see that Rev Wright played a significant roll in Barack’s life. I am sure that the Rev helped him get in touch with his Black/African side�”Not to make him turn against his White side�”but to help him fill the hole that his mother’s side of the family was not able to fill. This something that Barack needed to make himself complete–to make him be the strong person he is.

Biracial children have to be very strong to survive. They have to work harder to be accepted in a world that says that you have to be white or brown�”not tan to fit in. I understand your views about your child being bi-racial and the lessons he might have learned in his adaptation. I have known bi-racial children from my daughter’s school. They too have had a hard time. There is just too much anger there. The anger scares me and to think that Barack has been involved with this church and this man and it is just too much hate! And he has lied about it and tried to cover it up. The lying bothers me more about Barack than anhything else. We just can’t trust who he says he is!! I read in one of the many blogs that there are tapes of Obama at some of Rev Wright rant sermons so no I won’t forgive him. His wife has been quite expressive about her believes of Americans and so has Oprah who has seemed to turn on the white population. I remember some of Rev MLK sermons, he didn’t preach this hatred. He preached fairness, equality and peace. For all of those people who can say Obama didn’t know then he would have to be not so smart. If he isn’t smart, I don’t want him in the white house. I should have known because he says he is African American and in fact he is bi-racial raised by a white women and white grandparents. Why can’t he say he is bi-racial? Why can’t he just come clean about his relationship with his “uncle” - Rev Wright”? I am indeed disappointed. No you can’t…no we won’t

I don’t attend church often but the last time I did a few weeks ago, the congregation was filled with whites and blacks. The message the preacher gave was one of hope for all mankind and a blessing for this wonderful country we live in. That message was delivered to a biracial congregation. Now, all my life I grew up in a southern baptist church. Not once did I hear any of the pastors over the years preach a message of hate and vitriol. Why should I accept Obama and his affiliation with a biggott and a racist such as Wright? Why should I forgive Obama’s affiliation after twenty years of sitting through Wright’s hate filled sermons? If I attended a church whose message was not a holy one, I would not be in attendance the following week or any other time. You only attend and affiliate with people whom you agree with in most social settings. Obama should be a true man and say what he really believes and thinks instead of trying to hide under his desk and claim he didn’t hear it. He may be biracial but last time I checked, Obama wasn’t deaf!

Is Obama completely out of touch with his fellow parishioners?
You know, the ones who sat in stunned silence and gasped in horror as Pastor Wright delivered his remarks? The ones who protested or left the pews? But wait, they did leave their pews; in order to stand and clap and cheer in agreement. And we’re supposed to believe these remarks were isolated incidents? Mr. Obama has never heard “anything” like that before? We’re supposed to believe his feelings about all these comments are polar-opposite to all of his fellow congregants? Is he that out of touch with them? Mr. Obama; you are lying. You are either lying about your close connection and regular attendance, or you are lying about “what you heard and when you heard it.” Either way; you are lying.

how can you sit there and judge Obama and turn around and claim patriotism is only being white. when was the last time a white man had to fight for his rights in this so called pursuit of happiness. you sit back and praise pastors like hagee and falwell, and claim that is what being christian and a patriot is all about. I don’t think it is a smoke screen because I think the Clinton’s haven’t even been associated with this. I haven’t seen anything to implicate them. The video doesn’t lie. I’m not deaf or blind either. I just think that the true Obama is starting to emerge and I’m totally turned off too the new Obama I’m seeing. He’s not a man that we need in the white house and it has nothing to do with race with me, it has more to do with character at this point. This is a free country and so Obama and Reverend Jeremiah Wright Jr. are free to say what they will and worship as they wish. And because Obama is running to be president of the US and because he is running on a campaign of unity and good judgment, this issue of Obama’s membership in his church is a valid issue.
Look at NYT April 30, 2007 article wherein Reverend Wright said that he had discussed with Obama the idea that Obama would have to distance himself from the reverend and Obama said yes he agreed. Same article also explains Obama listened to recordings of the reverend’s speeches while Obama was in Harvard Law School so that Obama could learn to move audiences the way Obama saw the reverend move audiences. Both of these facts show that Obama was well aware of the controversial nature of the reverend’s speeches. This shows that it is dishonest for Obama to claim that he never heard the reverend’s comments until just now. Moreover, how could anyone sincerely campaign as a uniter of all races when they were a committed member of a racist, hateful, divisive church for 20 years? How can Obama campaign as a uniter when Obama chose a racist, hateful, divisive preacher to be his spiritual advisor?
Let’s hope voters look at this issue closely and take it into serious consideration when voting. Any person who was truly a uniter and who truly had good judgment would have left that church a long time ago.
Until Obama locked up 90% of the black vote, he was not going to distance himself. Even then, he was not going to distance himself until being forced to do so. Yet a day after expressing his renouncing of the reverend’s ideas, Obama was campaigning in Indiana and he played the victim card claiming that he was being wronged by people out to get him. That stance makes it clear that Obama’s renouncing of Reverend Wright’s words was an insincere renouncing. Obama also tried to cover his wife Michelle Obama’s words when he renounced the reverend’s words. Yet Michelle Obama’s words spoke for themselves when she said that it was the first time in her adult life that she was proud of her country.
Again it is a free country. Reverend Wright, Michelle Obama and Barack Obama are all free to be ashamed of America. They are also free to run for president as a uniter.
Hopefully, voters will remember that we are free because of sacrifices made by the men and women of the armed forces and because of the exercising of our individual right and privilege and duty to vote in our elections. Remembering that, it is this author’s hope that Barack Obama serve as many terms as he wishes in the US Senate as the senator from Illinois but that his presidential campaign fails.
I wish him, his wife Michelle and the reverend health and happiness. And I hope Barack Obama learns that racism of blacks against whites is no better than racism of whites against blacks. Blacks by the way aren’t the only minorities in the US. Asians. Latinos. Pacific Islanders. Etc.
If you strive for Black issues, that is fine. But by definition you are racist because you are interested only in the things that are desired for blacks. The president needs to be look out for the interests of all Americans, not just whites, not just blacks, not just Asians, not just Latinos.
Words are cheap. Barack Obama has practiced moving speeches since his days in Harvard Law School. Through those efforts, he has earned the oratorical prowess that he now commands in his campaign. That however, is not the same thing as walking the walk. He speaks well. His actions say something entirely different. There is not a single thing about Barack Obama’s church of 20 years that is unifying. There are many things about it that are racist, hateful and divisive.

Judge the tree by its fruits.

I guess the 3:00 am thing didn’t work so now we are desperately on to this OLD TAPE. The comments made by Barack’s former minister has no place in this campaign and is not worthy of the desperate last minute attention it is getting from the members of OLD SCHOOL politics. I have NEWS, the America people see though this pathetic attempt of association and are so much smarter than that.

How long has this tape been out-since Christmas and now it rears it ugly head, interesting timing. How can any of us be held responsible for every comment made by others we can’t verbally control or everyone we have met in our lives. The key is you can’t find a Youtube of Barack saying those things. How can anyone with intelligence associate a former minister who is not directly associated with a campaign, with a member of a church who was not present during a taping - GET REAL.

I SUPPORT BARACK OBAMA because he represents the NEW THOUGHTS for our NEW America. Its time to see what someone else can do in the Washington. This pastor or who ever he is, represents the OLD SCHOOL, kinda like someone else from that same era - I find it very hard to believe Barack would endorse comments that is against part or against half of who he is and someone he loves very dearly.

Barack has a right to reject comments that should have never been associated with him in the first place. This is not apart of Obama’s vision of a NEW 100% United America. Not the old thoughts of a former president for his remarks about what a nice dream it was for Barack to be president while he forgets his campaign is just as big a “dream” as he feel Barack’s “dream” is.

When these comments reared its ugly head to circuit media, Barack Obama rejected these comments immediately - while another candidate heard comments made directly in her camp and did not do anything until she was pressured to - NOW THAT’S OLD SCHOOL OR “BUSINESS AS USUAL”.
Barack - You give the Majority of New America HOPE for a new tomorrow, not the OLD TIRED rhetoric of a tired past.

I’m tired of trying to communicate with Hispanics in America that can’t speak any English! Why don’t you propose something to help them speak to the primary English speaking country of the USA or go back to Mexico.

Obama himself on the other hand (who has no limits relating to national security) has not released all records of his activities in the state senate (he claims he cant find them or they were not kept), has just now released earmarks for 2005 and 2006 that reveal potential ethics violations, has just now released prior year tax returns with questions now arising about his home purchase, and has not released earmarks for 6 of the 8 years as state senator.
Barrack Obama touts himself as the only presidential candidate not corrupted by Washington politics but his earmark records contradict that because he tried steering millions of federal dollars to his wife’s employer and the company of a top campaign donor. Recently released earmarks reveal that he requested $1 million for the hospital that employs his wife Michelle and $8 million for a military contractor with a board member who has given hefty sums to his campaign. The $1 million was requested in 2006 to build a tower pavillion at the University of Chicago Hospitals, where Michelle Obama was vice president of community affairs. Michelle had already benefited from her husband’s flourishing political career with a huge salary increase that went from $121,910 in 2004 before he was elected to the Senate to $316,962 in 2005 just after he took office. Obama requested the $8 million for weapons technology manufactured by a contractor with very close ties to a major fundraiser named Jams Crown, a billionaire who also serves on the company’s board. Crown is also on Obama’s national finance committee.
What sucks about this issue, for Obama, is that he loses his electibility and judgement arguments. Plus now he looks like an everyday politician. LOL

Obama needs to drop out of the race now. This new smoke screen is to direct attention away from him and the news cycle that will show him sitting in the pew and nodding his head while Rev. Wright spews forth his vemon.

I pretty sure all of the pastors sermons weren’t all negative. He preached for years, what the media has shown us is a snippet of one sermon. Don’t let the media be your teacher.

This country and the bigots who run it are so full of crap. Don’t get my quote wrong. I’m an African-American who was born in this country, but I don’t have to agree with anyone. Now, wake up and smell the coffee. Rev. Wright was not right and I don’t support his comments totally, but some of if it was totally true. Now, don’t get pissed at me. Listen to his comments with a clear mind and you will see yourself. Don’t turn your heads on the past because Wright brought it up. Had Obama not been a member of that church, the media would not have given a crap about his comments. If so, they would have been exposed long ago. It’s not like Wright made those comments last week. People in this country, especially your IQ challenged President BUSH. He always wants to enter other countries and free them to a democratic society. He feels they (other countries) should be entitled to FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS. Hell, we don’t even have free and fair elections here in the United States. If it were a free and fair election, the popular vote would determine the president. If it were fair, by the people, of the people, and for the people, we would not have…delegates…Super-delegates. They are in place to make our votes meaningless if they don’t like what the people has chosen. Prime example is Hillary Clinton. She has said, to hell with the people, she is appealing to the Super-delegates to be appointed by a few and not elected by millions. Had Barack Obama won Florida and Michigan, she and Bill would be in federal court trying to block the votes from being counted. I have lived in Florida all my life. The DNC told Florida what would happen if they made the choice of moving the election date. The legislators of Florida didn’t believe them and they made Florida believers. I was given a ballot in Florida without a presidential choice on it. I didn’t care cause I knew it was useless to vote. Now Hillary, take your beating in stride and stop trying to manipulate the system.

Major Garrett’s interview was one of the only ones I have seen on any substantive issue wherein the journalist pushed tough questions to Obama. For example, this morning’s Meet The Press was a joke the way Tim Russert pitched softball questions to the Obama surrogate and the way Tim Russert never probed deeper than just accepting the Obama surrogate’s answers. Tim Russert had opportunities to push harder (e.g. “Rules are rules” … okay Senator Bradley, then why do you have an obvious problem with allowing superdelegates to vote according to their wishes seeing as how those are the rules.?)

Frankly, Fox is the only station that appears to be pushing anything tough at all toward Obama and even Fox is quick to let Obama off the hook. e.g. O’Reilly saying ‘Of course I am not saying that Obama shares the pastor’s views … etc.” Why are voters supposed to assume that? If Obama chose to be a member of the church for 20 years, if he chose the pastor to be his spiritual mentor, if he appointed the pastor to a national position on his campaign, these all indicate that Obama indeed shared the pastor’s views. Obama just knows enough not to say it the same way.

Obama is still getting off easy by even the toughest of the media, namely Fox News.

It appears that Fox is only able to push things so far because the rest of the media are so blindly backing Obama that it appears outrageous for Fox to push the way that all of the media ought to already be pushing Obama.

Hats off to Major Garrett for pushing harder than anyone else has yet had the courage to do. Let’s see a lot more of that level of pushing the tough questins to Obama and not letting up.

We deserve a free and unbiased media. We clearly do not have that. And, at least Fox tried to balance the fact that the rest of the media are in love with the idea of Obama so much that they are unwilling and/or unable to perform their journalistic duty.

Mainstream media: Please stop drinking the Obama kool aid.

Fox News: Please push harder. If you stop, no media will provide any tough questions to Obama.

Sen. Barack Obama should drop out of the Democratic race for the nomination immediately. It is unbelievable to me that anyone would consider voting for him after learning about his close association with Rev. Wright. How Anti-American can a person be? To say we shouldn’t complain about the next president if Obama is gone, we don’t know who Obama really is. All of his speeches are done to gain common ground with the American people and that common ground is to hope in one hand and crap in the other and that is what most people wish for. He has gone to the same church for twenty years and most people go to church for value’s and morale character. For Obama to denounce Rev. Wright’s veiw’s and still call him a spritual advisor, leaves many question’s as to what is really in Obama’s head.

Im a Veteran and i know Obama has skipped 19 of 37 VA committee meetings in the 109th congress. Obama’s attendance record was the second worst of all Democrats on the committee. He attended just 18 of the committee’s 37 meetings in Washington D.C

so NO I WONT VOTE FOR HIM
