You are wrong . It does matter that obama does have ties to the muslim world.Regardless of his faith he has relatives and a connection to the islamic world. He even changed his name to a muslim name. These are the facts like it or not. It is not a fairytale. And they would be dancing in the streets just like they did when over 4000 innocent americans were brutaly mudered on 911. John mccain may have to tread lightly to be respectful to the dignity of the political process and stay focused on the issues .But we as americans can express ourselves since we lose nothing for the sake of honesty. I will never support obama and this is a big part of my reasons. But not the only one for there are many

I can not believe ANYONE is ready to vote for a Democrat.
AFTER THE DNC screwed the people of the party. Namely MI and FL voters.
NOW that moron Howard Dean.. Says he does care what happens . THE DNC WILL NOT PAY FOR A REVOTE TO FIX IT..????
SO LET ME GET THIS STRATE.
THE DNC screws the Voters of MI… And the voters of FL..
HOWARD DEAN comes up with this deal… (probably because he knew Hillary would win those two. Mi on NAFTA… FL on the senor vote. )
He wants Obama to win. Best way is to Make FL and MI not count.
Then the people of MI are told to vote for the WORST REPUBLICAN.. So they have a better chance to win in NOV……Becouse Obama is weak…
NOW the people of MI and FL want to MAKE THEIR VOICES HEARD>….
AND HOWARD DEAN…. SAYS WELL WE DONT CARE IF THE VOTERS ARE HEARD… WE ARE NOT PAYING TO FIX THIS MESS……….LOL WHERE DOES HE THINK THE DNC GET THEIR MONEY FROM… THE PEOPLE MAY BEeeee????
AND PEOPLE ARE STILL SUPPORTING THE DNC….????????????

WTF are you Democrats thinking…..?????

HILLARY IS ON RECORD STATING SHE AGREED THE DELEGATES IN FLORIDA AND MICHIGAN SHOILD NOT BE COUNTED NOW SHE IS WHINING LIKE A LITTLE BABY JUST BECAUSE SHE KNOWS IT IS ONLY CHANCE OF WINNING SHE IS A CHEATER

McCain can win if the economy goes south because he is smart enough to surround himself with the best advisors on the economy. Unlike Obama who surrounds himself with Rezko, Farrakhan and Ayers.

Now it has come out that In Obama’s book, “Dreams From My Father,” he repeatedly refers to his friend and adviser as “Frank.” Frank turns out to be Frank Marshall Davis, a member of the old Moscow-controlled Communist Party USA.

Vote McCain, the only choice to keep America safe.

Comment by Haily

Hillary is on record saying she agreed the delegates in Florida and Michigan should not have been counted…now she crys foul..what the heck.. she really will do anything to steal the nomination, I like Obama or McCain-Just not Hillary. the super delegates better think about how much Hillary is hated. Yes she is hated!!

McLiar is a clueless moron with bad teeth. Obama will smash this nitwit in November and make him a three-time loser. The GOP deserves to lose for putting up an idiot as their candidate….

How funny is that…you cannot be serious you are not going to call McCain a liar…a man who fought for our country as a fighter pilot was then shot down tortured then offered to be released if he lied about our country…well he said no I am not going to lie so the.. that’s right he would’nt lie so the Vietnemese could use him for propaganda…he stayed with his men for 4 more years in the famouse Hanoi Hilton..which was famous for it’s severe torturing of men. So please don’t talk about a man like that who at least deserves a little respect for giving so much to this country so we can stay free. There are actually bad guys out there who would’nt think twice to cut your head off and stick you in a grave for just being an American. He loves his country and has said over and over how much he is grateful for everything this great country has done for him. I like Obama..he seems like a good guy, he is funny and very likable I just worry about his stance on National Security ..and Hillary is just a plain phony witch in my opinion.

If Hillary wins, Mccain will beat her in Nov. over her overstating her role and because lots of people hate her. If Obama wins Mccain will beat him because Obama will actually have to say something of substance, either way McCain wins. If the market goes south, people will like lower taxes obviously so yeah McCain will win.

Sure McCain can win especially if the economy goes south in the next months.

Hopefully Americans will know enough about economics to know that nothing tanks an economy like a President like Barak Obama would be who is Left of Lenin. Hillary isn’t much better. All Socialist governments fail because their “power to the people” philosophy doesn’t pay the bills. In the free market businesses big and small (including the corporations everyone loves to hate–which are owned by all of us with pension funds and mutual funds) work to be profitable. The wealthy also invest in these companies which enables growth which enables the companies to hire more “wage earners” which in turn gives wage earners money to spend on products produced by companies which makes them more profitable which makes more wealthy persons willing to invest in their further growth which creates more jobs and so there is prosperity!

Mitt Romney said it best when he responded to Huckabees stupid ad askng which you would rather have as President someone who looks like you or someone who looks like the man who fired you (in a clear allusion to the handsome and corporate looking Romney compared with Huck’s very common bearing). Romney responded, “How about a president that is like the man who hired you?? There are no wage earners without wage payers!” Get over the class warfare ideas of the “Left of Lenin” D’s who would take from the rich (they won’t get much because that investment capital will be investing in countries that don’t tax them to oblivion), keep most of the money in Washington to fund their bureaucracy then create more poor to depend on them and their nanny state ideas.

McCain isn’t a genius on the economy like Romney (whom he should be to be his VP), but he is a fiscal conservative of sorts. He should win if there is a downturn as the socialists in the D party will make it so much worse with their tax and spend habits.

IF THERE IS A CONTINUING DOWNTURN IN THE ECONOMY, THIS NATION WILL RUE THE DAY THEY ALLOWED PREJUDICE TO DEPRIVE THEM OF THE BEST AND MOST WORTHY CANDIDATE IN YEARS AND THE ONLY ONE WITH ECONOMIC SAVVY–MITT ROMNEY!!!!!

THE ONLY HOPE JOHN MCCAIN HAS OF STEERING THIS SHIP IN THE MURKY WATERS HE WILL BE IN ECONOMICALLY BY NOVEMBER IS TO BEG MITT ROMNEY TO BE HIS VP!!! I DON’T KNOW IF ROMNEY WOULD STOOP TO VP FOR SUH AN INFERIOR MAN AS MCNASTY, BUT HE IS A PATRIOT AND MIGHT DO SO TO SAVE OUR COUNTRY!

IF MC LETS HIS VANITY AND HATRED OF ROMNEY GET IN THE WAY I FEAR FOR HIM AND FOR THE COUNTRY.

MITT ROMNEY IS OUR ONLY HOPE FOR A BETTER ECONOMY–TOO BAD SOME BIGOTS DIDN’T LISTEN WHEN MITT WARNED THE COUNTRY THAT “A VOTE FOR HUCKABEE IS A VOTE FOR MCCAIN!” YOU IDIOTS VOTED FOR HUCKABEE (WHO NEVER HAD A CHANCE OF ELECTION–THE WEST HATES BIGOTS!!!!!!) This is America’s problem. We all are a PARTY in this mess. If anyone up on the hill saw this man-made disaster coming, their sure weren’t very persuasive in getting anyone else to pay attention! And about as responsive as most top-heavy corporations as seen after Katrina. It’s take more than campaign tactics, speeches & ballots to get this country fixed. Who do you think has it them to have a yearly review of their job performance, with consequences? Everyone of us should have our hand out asking for more proof & less fluff…

AS for vp I think McCain needs Huckabee. I say this to pull the christain right back into the party.
Many of us REMEBER McCain’s comments about the christain right.
On top of that Huckabee really did take alot of states we need in nov. And where McCain won it was not by much like MO. I think it was like 2000 votes… But becouse of the winner take all states. It really does not show just how good Huckabee did by delegate count.
SO I really do think Romney Has a place in this but Not as VP.
Romney Will just drive More of the christain right off… THOSE WHO ARE GOING TO PINCH THEIR NOSE AND VOTE IN NOV…

One of the reasons Romney will drive more OF CHRISTIAN RIGHT off. IS because many of them don’t trust Romney on his flip flop on abortion. When he ran for Governor of MA he said he was all for abortion and would never take away a woman’s right to choose. BUT then Running for Prez. He said he only said that to get elected as governor. And he really never believed in abortion…… Many of us Went OK????
What is he lying about now to get elected and HOW DOES HE REALLY FEEL ABOUT ABOURTION….

The other is.. WELL not going to sound to good but… TRY to get the bible belt christians. To vote for a man who’s religion believes that Satan was Jesus brother..
NOT GOING TO GET THOSE VOTES DUDE… SO with McCain’s weakness with these people for past remark’s. Then put Romney on the ticket with him.? The republican’s can kiss the deep south bible belt GOOD BYE…

I have known this idea but have a hard time expressing it as well as you.. I hope you will not mind if I repeat your thoghts in the futute. Comment by Haley Rodman Clemson

McCain wants to lower taxes, end earmarks and greatly reduce government waste. How is this bad for the economy? There are two schools of though in economics: Free market capitalism where people control their own money and businesses live or die by thier ability to make a profit. These economies go through recessions and expansions but the long-term growth of free market capitalist economies greatly exceeds the second type of economy: Socialism.

In a socialist economy the government taxes citizens very heavily and redistributes money as it sees fit. Recessions, per se, don’t happen often in these countries because the government’s distribution of money stays pretty constant and productivity numbers are often lied about to ensure that no one knows a recession is happening. Socialism creates a downward economic spiral. Cuba had a very strong economy before it’s socialist revolution wiped out its financial resources and it has only gotten worse as time has gone on. Venezuela, a nation that has a lot of valuable national resources could be wealthy and thriving but it has gotten poorer as Hugo Chavez has slowly tightened his grip on the economy. Reports of people waiting for hours in line for bread and milk have been seeping out of the country as recently as last month.

The bottom line: McCain favors free market capitalism and is willing to let the economy fight through a recession, the Democrats on the other hand want the government to tighten its grip on the economy to smooth out what is being perceived as a recession (no facts to back this up yet). The question is, “Who do you trust to use money more wisely, private industry or the federal government who brought you organizations such as FEMA, the Immigration and Naturalzation Service and TSA?

Comment by barbara

McShamesty: I hope you are wrong. Do you really want to be taxed to a point that you can’t pay your bills? Do you really want to live in a socialist country. Big government big tax’s.
The government will control what you do, say and will actually try an control what you think. You will pay tax’s on everything. That is if you work. If you don’t work and don’t want to work this is a dream for you. If you work hard then you WILL pay for those that don’t. And jobs? The democrats will be sure you get jobs that keep you at the same level. You have to pay for everyone else and you don’t need to get ahead. The government will take care of that for you. Tax Tax Tax!!! You don’t even need to think. The goverment will do that for you.

It is time to put the democrats out of business.

I like the blogger Maria but she’s a twit!! So are the rest of you morons that actually have any thought that a Republican will be our next president. It doesn’t matter who McCane picks as VP…they will not dictate economic policy —– wouldn’t matter if it was Warren Buffet.
The VP does like he is directed and breaks tie votes only — he does not create monatary policy or any other policy. So for all you Romney will save us folks….take a stress tab and curse some more about Huckabee screwing your bro Romney. (you’re so on another planet)

And the Democrat that will be running as President will be Hillary so get use to it. Why….because the Democratic Party heads want her to be. Doesn’t matter what Obama does …if it goes to the convention …. which it will …. Hillary will be the nominee.

Don’t fear…..she will not pull the troops out…nor will she change NAFTA… nor will there be a national health care policy. Hillary will govern with Bill and team Clinton will take the whacks for all the crap we’ve gotten ourselves into. She’ll have a nervous breakdown and age twenty years in 4 years. Couldn’t happen to anyone more deserving according to some. So all you people that want a pound of flesh…….you’ll get it.

I grew up in the South, I served in the Navy stationed in the South, I graduated from a university in the South, I got a job in the South, I married in the South (although she is originally from NYC), and I am raising my children in the South. I am sick and tired of this phrase “goes South” to mean something bad happens. Everything North is good and everything South is bad? My mechanic’s secretary had to call for my car’s extended warranty and the lady at the insurance company in Massachusetts said to her, “We’re not laid-back like you are in the South, we get things done”. Well, it’s good that I was not on the phone! I would have told her off! If you agree with that lady and the author of this article and use the phrase, the you are being inconsiderate and rude. Think about it, please, then decide to be nice. Have a nice day!

Mac will need to recruit help quickly on the economic topic - He better get Huckabee on board ASAP. Besides Huck represents the future of the REp Party. Bottom Line, Mac is Strong on War & WEAK on Economy & Health care. Number one thing on peoples minds; JOBS JOBS JOBS & saving their Homes. This is serious America !

Comment by profitleads

Neither Hil-Liar-y or McCain have any idea about what makes the economy function and neither one displays even a tiny interest in learning; they only repeat what they have been told to repeat by their handlers. McCain will continue to push for the corporate-managed trade agreements already in place (incorrectly referred to as: Free Trade) that have gutted such a large portion of U.S. manufacturing capability. Hil-Liar-y will take the situation and use it as the means to nationalize any and all manufacturing that she can get her hands on; that’s her Marxist way after all. The healthcare industry, which is about 1/7th of our economy, will be the first to be destroyed, by way of government takeover, followed probably by the utilities industry with other industrial activities to follow later on. Obama’s position on these things is largely unknown and seems to reflect a more fluid or less doctrinaire attitude. Altogether, these 3 people represent the worst presidential choices that I’ve seen put forward in the last 50 years.

McShame is a disgrace to America. Send him packing…Flush the John-2008!!!

Proitleads…you are right the choices this year are abysmal The only way o salvage this rac is to concentrate on the Congressional elections. We need to send someone to Congress who is fiscally responsible and will be able to hold spending to a minumin. We have to reign in the federal budget which means no new programs that will cost billions of dollars. We need to get rid of all pork projects. We have to balance our budget and we need to demand new memebers in Congres who would be willing to stand strong and do this. Evidently those who are in Congress have not been doing their jobs and it is tme for them to go!

Comment by Haley Rodman Clemson

I really don’t understand who so many Republicans are dead set against McCain. I recall party leaders and conservative pundits BEGGING him to run in 2000. He admits that he isn’t strong on the economy but after being a senator since the early 80’s he knows more about the government’s interference in the economy than Barack and Hillary put together. I have a degree in economics and I can boil the best economic policy down to one sentence: The less the government interferes with the economy, the healthier the economy is. Hong Kong and Taiwan have been islands of prosperity in Asia not because of intellect, resources or location, they are prosperous because of their free markets relative to their neighbors.

The fact that Obama and Clinton are against lowered tariffs and decreased regulations with two of our biggest trading partners but supportive of labor unions is completely upside down. We lose jobs and industries because of labor unions, not NAFTA. Our manufacturers can’t compete with foreign competitors because of the high wages, rich benefits and job security provided by union contracts. Many of the products we import would simply not be produced were it not for trade agreements because manufacturers would not be able to make a profit on them and/or the price of the items would be so high due to production costs that customers wouldn’t buy them.

In short, the best way to let the economy grow is to drop trade barriers, reduce taxes and keep the government out of private industry as much as possible. We live in a world where we can make a vast amount of money as a nation as we trade our high technology, high quality products and services for inexpensive goods and services from developing countries. As we do this, we get richer and so does our foreign trading partner.

Media outlets have failed to mention that Tom Delay was kicked out of office because John McCain caught him doing illegal activities.

Comment by John Russell

Here is essence of the Democratic Parties problem.

They want to SHIFT MONEY (taxes) from the people of America that PRODUCE wealth….

to the people in America that CONSUME wealth…..

Yes, there are people of need, this is not the real issue.

The real problem with the Democrat’s Robin Hood mentaility (tax the wealth producers to give to the wealth consumers) is that you never hear them offer up concrete, realistic ways to get the WEALTH CONSUMERS to be WEALTH PRODUCERS.

Example, you will repeatedly hear the sound bite “THIS IS FOR THE CHILDREN” and HOW CAN YOU ARGUE AGAINST SOMETHING THAT IS FOR THE CHILDREN.

What you won’t hear is HOW DO WE BREAK THE CYCLE OF HAVING MORE CHILDREN WHEN THE PARENT (S) DON’T EVEN HAVE ENOUGH DISPOSABLE INCOME AVAILABLE TO FEED, CLOTH AND SHELTER the child for THE FIRST YEAR OF LIFE.

Yes, we need to be compasionate and help folks of need. BUT just throwing money at folks does not BREAK the cycle. We need to break the cycle in order to not end up in a Socialist America.

Comment by profitleads

Thank you for the comment from Utah. Putting our focus on the makeup of Congress is definitely the only viable alternative left in this election year. Talk of Healthcare, more wars, and foreign trade will quickly become meaningless unless and until we stop this idiotic spending spree that has been increasing for generations and which will bring us all to destruction if not stopped.

For those who do not understand why so many republicans cannot stand McCain’t and will never vote for him, the reasons are very easy to discover. One need only read his “complete” record (which you will not get from his campaign or the MSM) and discover what a terrible mistake it would be to even consider this man as a candidate, much less as a president. It is unfortunate that the GOP (the neocon branch of it) has been able to get so many people to engage in this mass GOP suicide which is called: The McCain Candidacy. The only one single chance that the McCain campaign has, for success in November, is to somehow get the democrats to nominate Hil-Liar-y. She is the only one McCain can beat. Obama as nominee insures McCain’s defeat. Why else do you think that republican crossovers, at least in Texas, gave Hil-Liar-y fully 15% of her total vote? Do you actually think that she’s been able to convert so many conservative republicans into liberal democrats? Is that what you think? Since McCain is a foregone conclusion, the only way to keep the office of president out of the hands of the democrats is to have Hil-Liar-y at the top of the democratic ticket for November, and they’ve been encouraged, by most of talk radio for instance, to crossover and vote for Hil-Liar-y in order to keep from facing Obama in November.

Comment by Christopher

@ profitleads

So you mean to tell me you’d vote for a liberal lunatic over a moderate?

Obama is even more liberal than Ted Kennedy and one of his friends is a terrorist.

the economy has already gone south- flux of economy in broad terms federal government not that much influence- but can make incentives in hope alleviate problems or reduce global impact.
e.g. raise miniumum wage, invest in public infrastructure, reduce or increase subsidies (fedral land mining and grazing; efficient governance; tax system only part of it, and most tax is mend to change people’ behaviour e.g. cigarette tax.
In broad terms McCain does not have a plan (yet) which probably says enough;
in past voting record quite centrist view, lately in campaign more conservative,
subsidies to industry is actualy contrary to conservative philosophy (oil, mining, agriculture) which run in the billions.
us economy based primarely on consumer spending (and savings very low or non-existent)
even Bush thinks by giving people rebate economy will get a lift.
in essence lower and mddle class (the majority) idea is to entice them with policy to spend more
both parties are the same in that regard,
republican’s think trickle down effect will work (which is debatable)
democrats a more direct approach
even in looming recession this might not work, people might use extra money to save or pay of debt.

Comment by Mike J.

John Russell, you have it right.
My father-in-law, raised in NYC, thinks that way. I asked him directly if he thinks that the rich should have their higher incomes taken and given to the lower income people. He said yes. He has had hard economic times the past few years with companies buying each other and laying off people and other companies wanting him to engage in illegal accounting methods (he said no way and left). But even when my income was $25k and I was driving a car with big rust holes in the body, I still didn’t want the almightly empire of the US federal government to take that rich man’s Porsche and give it to me or take most his/her income to pay for my healthcare (which I had none at the time). Rich people create companies, companies create jobs, and jobs pay workers who produce quality goods and services. I never got a job from a poor person.
I’m glad that the rest of my wife’s family don’t think like my father-in-law.

John McCain is no better or worse on economic issues than the Democrats except on his new found commitment to smaller government and less “indulgences” which is my new name for entitlements.

The only hope the country has is for John McCain to draft Mitt Romney as VP and get out his way on the economy!

Otherwise we are doomed to a big downturn that will only be slightly less daunting with a McCain presidency if he continues his commitment to smaller government.

Comment by DB

Profitleads,

While I understand your concerns with McCain, we really don’t have a lot of choice here. The candidates are all weak, in my opinion, but a moderate is better than either of the liberals if for no other reason then for nominating the Supreme Court Judges that may retire over the next 4 - 8 years. As for anything else, I won’t hold my breath.

All you supporters of Obama and Hillary need a wake up call. Hillary already had her time in the Whitehouse. We all know she ran the show, not Bill. And as for Obama more of his dirty deeds will come out in the near future. He needs to answer for Ayers, Rezko, Farrakhan and Wright. He says his pastor inspired some things in his book, would this be hatred for Israel? It is amazing that anyone would vote for someone who calls a terrorist their friend.

I also don’t understand why all you Obama supporters aren’t posting on CNN-the communist news network. They certainly won’t allow any of us McCain supporters to post on their blogs.

This is a good question, a very good question. Look back on 1992 - its the economy stupid. many were dissatisfied with the economy and jobs and things did not start really picking up until the mid-1990s. I was laid off in 1991 but was able to find a job within a month and never had to apply for unemployment. I was lucky. Others I was laid off with waited a year and longer to find employment. In 1992 I bought a home. Getting a mortgage was a brutal and drawn our process but I did get one thanks in part to my VA eligibility. By November of 1992 I was totally fed up with the George H.W. Bush administration and became one of the 19% that voted for Perot - a stupid move on my part. I am convinced that the 19% of the vote Perot manage to get would have gone to Bush and he would have been reelected. Instead we got the Clintons complete with Whitewater, Monica, and impeachment. Being a Vietnam vet I could never vote for a Clinton but did vote for a liberal Democrat for Congress that year. The value of my home remained flat for several years and consider at the time I lived in what is a very robust housing market in an excellent location in the suburbs of Washington, DC. Now let’s look at 2008 and much of what I just said about the recent past has come around again. The economy runs in cycles and considering the Republicans currently have the White House it will be a considerable challenge for any Republican candidate to overcome this in November unless the economy picks up. On the brighter side for Republicans as things currently stand Dean and his dysfunctional DNC combined with the goon squad (the Clintons) are doing a good job of imploding. The Dems were certainly better organized in 1992 than they are now.

Too Bad Nixon was not like McCain.

If Nixon was like McCain then we would be in Veitnam for at least another 60 years and McCain would still be a POW.

Another shining example of Fox New’s bias.

Barnes - Republican
Kristol - Republican
Hume - Republican
Liasson - Fox claims is a liberal, but the New York Daily News reported that she said she was a registered REPUBLICAN
Kondracke - Self-described “moderate independent centrist”

So let’s count them up. Even assuming the Fox News Channel isn’t lying through its teeth about Liasson, that’s 1 Democrat, 3 Republicans and 1 independent.

Only an idiot would consider this a balanced panel. It’s a partisan panel on a partisan Republican news channel.

Reading and seeing everything that are now surrounding this election people can not avoid but conclude that we are about to experience the most tragic and scarry election that an american could ever imagine in the history of our proud nation.

A lot of electorate do not vote base on what is important for our beloved nation but by charisma of some candidates. Electorate with the influence of news media even fail to examine the background and experiences of these self proclaimed “Ready to Lead” politicians.

I just hope that we as Americans will truly show our patriotism by electing the worthy candidate who is not tainted with any hypocrisy, corruptions nor alliance with any corrupt individual who might influence their decisions for their selfish interests…

It really scares me as i look at my children and grandchildren specially knowing that the most charismatic individual who might win in this election had ties with known individual who’s preaching divisions and segregations among the people of this wonderful country.

Hearing that people are now becoming proud Americans only because things are going better for their interest is shameful and unpatriotic and has no right to lead this country for they might abandon this country if things are not going for them and not in their best interests.

My appeal to our countrymen is PLEASE VOTE WITH YOUR CONSCIENCE AND PRIDE AS AMERICANS!!! Don’t be swayed by mere promises of a not sincere politician who has other interests than to bring our beloved country to a more STABLE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WHO CAN LEAD ALL NATIONS TO FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY AND LOVE OF GOD!!!
