Ron Paul calls it quits
Long shot GOP candidate Ron Paul suggests he is dropping out the presidential race, noting in a YouTube video posted Thursday night that his “campaign will soon wind down” and it is time for supporters to continue the “revolution” in another way.
“The presidential campaign will soon wind down…let us hope that we can one day look back and say that this campaign was a significant first step that signaled a change in direction for our country,” Paul said. “Our job now is to plan for the next phase…elections are short term efforts, revolutions are long term projects.”
In the nearly 8 minute video, Paul makes no mention of the Republican party or presumptive nominee, Sen. John McCain.

He’s not dropping out! He’s still in it!

See…there…he’s not out.
Come on FAUX, is this really all you can do? Is English really so difficult to understand? Just listen from 4:40 and try to understand what RP is saying. He is neither quiting the race nor calling a end of his campaign. Indeed he is announcing the continuation of his presidential campaign throughout the country.
I have read all your “articles” about the presidential campaign of all candidates and with a thorough and honest journalism their have often nothing to do.
As a teacher, I´ve decided to implement the influence of MSM in our election process and the losing of faith in our democracy. The using of the Internet and Youtube videos, showing the discrepancies in the so called “We report, you decide”-Slogan, will hopefully open the eyes of the young people.
Was he ever in the Race? The conservatives thought he was a joke.
I wonder wish way his supporters will turn.
But why are they thinking that way? The Republican party used to be the conservative of both parties. Why were the Republicans in favor i.e. of the Marshall-Plan? Because it opened the way for solide finances and stable currencies in Europe and would mean the end of the subsidies to Europe. And what has happend now? The dollar is crashing and the is losing its status as key currency of the world.
Inflation is kicking north, the steady rising prices are bringing people to their financial limits and even beyond that. And what is offered by the Republican party? Spending more money overseas! We had the same problem during Vietnam-War. The so called “dollar-drain” had extrem ramifications to our economy. Just remember the interest-rates in the 1970s at 20%!
If you take a clear look at who is financing our debts, you´re see that China has not only lend as hundreads of billions of dollar, they also have nearly 2 trillion dollars in cash and won´t accept a continuing devaluation of the dollar. Either way they will diversify, throwing billions of dollar into the exchange markets and when that happens other countries will consequently follow. The dollar will rocket off to 2 Dollars for 1 Euro and even more….is that really what we want?
Typical Faux reporting. He says no such thing. Did Faux contact his HQ to find out? No they didn’t. If they had, they would have quickly discovered that he campaign continues in the remaining states. However, the truth is of little importance to Faux because they already have their candidate with enough votes to secure the nomination, therefore they are now attempting to create the impression that no further opposition even exists. Faux “news”? Faux Fantasy News.
Ron Paul won’t let us down

I always respected Ron Paul
THERE’S NO WAY OUR GOVERNMENT SHOULD EVEN ENTERTAIN THE THOUGHT OF CHANGING THE RULES “MID-WAY” THROUGH THE GAME, AND ALLOW A NEW PRIMARY/CAUCUS! THIS IS RIDICULUS TO EVEN ENTERTAIN THE THOUGHT. WHY DIDN’T WE JUST DO A WHOLE RE-VOTE AFTER THE EMBATTLED PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IN 2000 WITH THE FLORIDA/CHAD DEBACLE? OR IN THE 2004 FIASCO IN OHIO WITH KERRY AND BUSH? WHEN AND WHEN WILL THIS ALL STOP AT? ALL THE CANDIDATES KNEW FULLY WELL BEFORE THE PRIMARY IN EACH STATE THE IMPLICATIONS OF HAVING AN EARLY PRIMARY IN THEIR STATES. THE FOREGONE CONCLUSION WAS THAT THE PARTY DELEGATES OF EACH PARTY WOULD NOT BE SEATED AT THE CONVENTION. NOW THAT SENATOR CLINTON HAS GROWN INCREASINGLY DESPERATE FOR DELEGATE VOTES, SHE NOW WANTS A RECOUNT? SHAME ON YOU HILLARY!
THERE IS A VERY SIMPLE SOLUTION TO THIS FARCE HOWEVER. TO BE FAIR TO ALL CONCERNED, THE VERY MOST THAT SHOULD BE DONE TO RECONCILE THE MATTER FAIRLY TO ALL IS TO SPLIT THE EMBATTLED DELEGATES FOR EACH PERSPECTIVE STATE COMPLETELY EVEN. GIVING BOTH CANDIDATES THE SAME AMOUNT OF DELEGATES IS THE BEST THING TO DO HERE CONSIDERING THAT BY DOING SO, MICHIGAN AND FLORIDA DELEGATES WOULD HAVE A SEAT DURING THE CONVENTION AND THEREBY THE PEOPLE’S VOTES ARE ACKNOWLEDGED. WE THEN WILL ALSO SEE IF THE ARGUMENT ONE CANDIDATE GAVE FOR THE SEATING OF DELEGATES WAS TRULY GENUINE, OR WAS THIS JUST A SINISTER PLOY TO GAIN DELEGATES THAT ARE SO DESPERATELY NEEDED BY THE HILLARY CAMP.
BEYOND THE FACT THAT THIS IS CLEARLY A “SHAMEFUL” TACTIC ON THE CLINTON CAMPAIGN’S PART, THE PEOPLE OF AMERICA HAVE SPOKEN OUT AND VOTED VERY CLEARLY ON WHOM THEY WANT AS THEIR NEXT COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF. TRYING TO STEAL DELEGATES AWAY IS NOT THE DEMOCRATIC WAY, NOR DOES THIS KIND OF POLITICS HAVE ANY LEGITIMACY IN THE EYES OF NOT ONLY OUR CITIZENS, BUT IN THE EYES OF WORLD LEADERS WHO ARE WATCHING WHAT CAMP HILLARY IS TRYING TO PROLIFERATE.
I HOPE THE DNC HAS MORE INTEGRITY TOWARDS THE VOTING PROCESS OF AMERICAN POLITICS THAN TO SWAGGER AND SWAY UNDER THE MISGUIDED WINDS OF ONE SAID CANDIDATE.
WE ARE A LAND OF LAWS AND RULES; WE LOOK TOWARD THE DNC TO UPHOLD THOSE LAWS. ANYTHING LESS CONSTRUES AN INJUSTICE THAT WILL SURELY BE VOICED BY THE PEOPLE AND THE PUBLIC UNDOUBTEDBLY - ALL WITH DUE CAUSE.
When have Clintons ever follwed any rules. They’re lawyers always skirting the edge and then deny or cant recall when called on it. Or do unethical stuff and say its legal.
No Class at all from the Billaries. Just corruptness.
No one can change the world. Paul was irrelevant in the first place. He’s in the wrong century.
Ron Paul Needs to quit wasting tax payer money (his salery) And go back to work. Anyone who wanted to hear his message has heard it by now. Is he trying to be a ralf nader?I did not say anytihng before but now that mcCain is the nominee, Paul is staying in to play the fool.
I don’t see why folks get so worked up over fringe candidates like Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich.
They serve a valuable purpose. They smoke out the weirdos among us.
People you thought you knew all your life suddenly pop up screeching support for some whack job extremist candidate. Whoa! Bob. Where did you drop your brain? I think we’ll be busy this weekend after all, but thanks for the invite
Lesbians for Ron Paul!!!
I’ve been blogging on this site for months. Up until this moment, I’ve spent all my energy insulting Huckabigot. Now that Huckabigot is out of the race, ‘I’m coming out of the closet’ and publicly declaring my support for our nation’s next President, Ron Paul. He loves ALL Americans, including those of us in the gay/transgender community.
Ron Paul in ‘08 and beyond!!!
CALLS WHAT QUITS? Him and Gomer were out of their league!
Paul’s out? It’s about time—an embarassment to the party and genuine conservatives. Years ago WFB was instrumental in drumming the Birchers out–Let’s get rid of the anti-semites & racists
I’m sick of the way the media treats Ron Paul.
If I recall correctly, didn’t the media tell us that RP had dropped out a couple weeks ago when he said that he also had to campaign for his congressional seat? Seems they didn’t get it right then…and guess what, they’re just as far off now. But, Dr. Paul is at least getting his name out each time these fools do this.
Shelby,
Hee Hee, you make me laugh!
I picture Ron Paul in a dress- Now I am not Laughing
As long as the neo-cons and neo-liberals are running things it will be more of the same.
I think we should try and keep the dream alive for election cycles to come.
Here it is April 27th and you haven’t updated the current events. Get it together and take a more equal and honest reporting attitude on our choices. Ron Paul is still out their and he’s getting my vote. Their is alot of support for Ron Paul in my State. Fox News; UPDATE!
