Obama Returns Fire, Questions Clinton’s Foreign Policy “Experience”

Senator Barack Obama was introduced by Senator Jay Rockefeller at two Ohio campaign events today, where the West Virginia senator defended Obama’s foreign policy credentials, which have recently come into question by Senator Hillary Clinton in her new TV ad that asks viewers who they would want answering the phone at the White House at 3am in the event of a crisis.

Rockefeller, chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, told reporters traveling with the Obama campaign that he is “more qualified on national security judgments and actions” than any other candidate running - including John McCain.

At an afternoon town hall meeting in Westerville, Ohio, Obama responded to Clinton’s criticism that his foreign policy experience lies solely on the speech he gave in 2002 denouncing the war. He also criticized Clinton for not reading the National Intelligence Estimate report - something he said Senator Jay Rockefeller did read. He continued, “I don’t know what all that experience got her because I have enough experience to know that if you have a National Intelligence Estimate, and the chairman of the national, the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee says, ‘you should read this - this is why I’m voting against the war,’ - that you should probably read it.”

What Obama didn’t make clear however, is that while Jay Rockefeller is the current chairman of the committee, he was not in 2002 - nor did Rockefeller vote against the resolution. The then-chairman of the Intelligence Committee did, however, and that was former Senator Bob Graham. The campaign says Obama was referring to Mr. Graham - not Mr. Rockefeller in his remarks.

Watch those remarks here:

Following Obama’s town hall, Senator Rockefeller was asked about Mrs. Clinton’s claim that she was fully briefed on the content of the NIE report. “I don’t really know what that means when you’re fully briefed. I mean, who is going to brief her?” Only senators and Intelligence staff can read the briefing, Rockefeller said. “It’s not the kind of thing that you just get briefed on,” he said.

obama is always returning fire.

She wants to answer the phone at 3am? Who is the other end, a staffer giving her the gist of a foreign or domestic crisis and asking for her decision.

She didn’t read IMPORTANT information that she NEEDED to read, and instead of following through on that daunting task, she had someone give her the summary.

Please, she has been given the chance to make important decisions, and has shown that she can’t be trusted with it. Not only did she make the wrong call, she made it without getting all the facts first.

Obama is in my opinion the better choice.

Hillary is a power hungry maniac, who will do ANYTHING to win.

This isn’t a quest to make the world better, it is a journey of EGO.

Obama is no better than anyone else. easy to talk…easy to run on no record other than a website posting in 2000. This is anice gimmick. he has no record of bipartsanship…np record of bringing anybody together. it is a nice portrait of aliberal media….hacks like the ones you see on MSNBC and CNN …… .

Having said that sometime this bubble will burst! Sometimes I think, he should win this primary so that we can savor his destruction at the hands of the conservative media who will be a lot more brutal than the Clintons have tried to be.

I will wtach with sheer glee every momnet of this should he be the nominee! if he can win the big states and the non-caucus ones! ( see the pattern!!!!!).

This country needs better!

I am surprised he didn’t say “I AGREE WITH HILLARY”.
Obama is full of something and it is not HOPE. He won’t win the general election. He can make a lot of people feel good. That is nice, but it doesn’t get things done!

What are Obama fans really looking for? What do they think he can fix? How does he plan on paying for his changes??

Oh Scott please tell me you are not going to try to spin Obama as strong on foreign policy. I mean you are free to hold whatever opinion you want but puh-leeze. In that regard he is at best naive and at worst downright ignorant.

Obama and NAFTA
thanks for the link,,,,,Obama is f,,,liar,,,,,,

On the issue of experience, Obama`s record/experience is a joke by comparison…Hillary`s been to no less than 80 countries…helping any way she could…in addition, here`s just some of All Hillary`s achievements/experiences as a US Senator:
In 2000, Hillary was elected to the United States Senate from New York. As Senator, Hillary has continued her advocacy for children and families and has been a national leader on homeland security and national security issues.
After the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Hillary worked with her colleagues to secure the funds New York needed to recover and rebuild. She fought to provide compensation to the families of the victims, grants for hard-hit small businesses, and health care for front line workers at Ground Zero. And she continues to work for resources that enable New York to grow, to improve homeland security for New York and other communities, and to protect all Americans from future attacks.
She is the first New Yorker ever to serve on the Senate Armed Services Committee, working to see that America’s military has the necessary resources to protect our national security. She has visited troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and at Fort Drum in New York, home of the 10th Mountain Division and other New York bases, as well as at Walter Reed Military Hospital. She has learned first-hand the challenges facing American combat forces. Hillary passed legislation to track the health status of our troops so that conditions like Gulf War Syndrome would no longer be misdiagnosed. She is an original sponsor of legislation that expanded health benefits to members of the National Guard and Reserves and has been a strong critic of the Administration’s handling of Iraq.
But Hillary has recognized that we can’t ignore our problems at home while we face challenges overseas. She has introduced legislation to tie Congressional salary increases to an increase in the minimum wage, because she believes if America’s working people don’t deserve a raise, neither does Congress. She has supported a variety of middle-class tax cuts, including marriage penalty relief, property tax relief, and reduction in the Alternative Minimum Tax, and supports fiscally responsible pay-as-you-go budget rules. She helped pass legislation that encouraged investment to create jobs in struggling communities through the Renewal Communities program. She has championed legislation to bring broadband Internet access, which is so important in today’s information economy, to rural America.
In the Senate, Hillary has not wavered in her work to expand quality affordable health care to more Americans. She worked to strengthen the Children’s Health Insurance Program, which increased coverage for children in low income and working families. She authored legislation that has been enacted to improve quality and lower the cost of prescription drugs and to protect our food supply from bioterrorism. She sponsored legislation to increase America’s commitment to fighting the global HIV/AIDS crisis, and is now leading the fight for expanded use of information technology in the health care system to decrease administrative costs, lower premiums, and reduce medical errors.
Her strong advocacy for children continues in the Senate. Some of Hillary’s proudest achievements have been her work to ensure the safety of prescription drugs for children, with legislation now included in the Best Pharmaceuticals for Children Act, and her legislation to help schools address environmental hazards. She has also proposed expanding access to child care. She has passed legislation that will bring more qualified teachers into classrooms and more outstanding principals to lead our schools.
Hillary has been a powerful advocate for women in the Senate. Her commitment to supporting the rights guaranteed in Roe v. Wade and to reducing the number of abortions by reducing the number of unwanted pregnancies was hailed by the New York Times as “frank talk…(and) a promising path.” Hillary is one of the original cosponsors of the Prevention First Act to increase access to family planning. Her fight with the Bush Administration ensured that Plan B, an emergency contraceptive, will be available to millions of American women and will reduce the need for abortions.
Hillary is strongly committed to making sure that every American has the right to vote in fair, accessible, and credible elections. She introduced the Count Every Vote Act of 2005 to ensure better protection of votes and to ensure that every vote is counted.
In 2006, New Yorkers reelected Hillary to the Senate with 67 percent of the vote.
to begin with, in last week`s debate, there was the great ignorance Obama showed to the world when he told that story about the platoon, etc…displaying a great lack of knowledge about how the military is structured, etc…
in the last debate, he stated that he`d take action in Iraq…if intel indicated that Al-Quaeda was building a base there, etc., there…what?…wait a min?…this from a guy who stated that he was against the war from the start…
when the war started, the US had intel which indicated that Al-Quaeda had bases in Iraq…the very same condition which Obama states he`d take action over there…just like Bush did…
which means Obama was either LYING in the last debate or when he says he was against the war from the start.
btw, Hillary showed her superior experience, etc., by correctly answering this question…because a good Commander-in-Chief needs to know the facts before answering such questions…
she was also correct in pointing out that Obama wasn`t in the Sen. at the start to vote on the war…and he`s going to say what ever makes him look good…so, of course he`s going to LIE and say that he was against the war from the start…makes him look smarter than everyone else…especially to his followers…
and speeches, etc., aren`t the same…there`s a HUGE difference between giving speeches, etc., and voting with a constituency to answer to, nearly all of who were for the war at the time…
in fact, on and just after 9/11, very nearly every American, including Obama, was for going to war or dropping a bomb on who ever was responsible for what took place on 9/11…especially NYer`s…anyone who says differently is lying just like Obama is…as SHOWN above…
quite simply, Today`s world is too dangerous for a Pres. to be learning on the job…and openly negotiating without pre-conditions…with our enemies/terrorists…many of who HOPE every American drops dead this very moment…and would CHANGE the United States to something other than democracy…to think otherwise, like Obama, is extremely naive.

The more I read about Obama, the more fearful I become. His record of drugs, association with criminals, the radical black only church and dirty politics. The worldwide support of every muslim group in the world with money and endorsement. Louis Farrakhan, with his Nation of Isalm is a real concern and Obama’s church endorsed him. Obama is not presidential material. His black only mentality is very troublesome and not right for our country. Both Obama and his wife received Ivy League education through affirmative action, but now they are finally proud of our country. Neither of the Obama’s had the grades or finance for the Ivy League college education, but the taxpayer got stuck with the huge expense. Don’t you get that warm and fuzzy feeling regarding the Obama’s. I didn’t use his middle name.
Thank God! People have snapped out of this trance, we want Hillary to stay in the race until Obama’s laundry all airs out…. and as you will find…there is just as much enthusiasm in learning about his faults and laundry that the media “especially” that media machine that CNN has exposed as to what I call a Hillary CNN Bashing Machine… CNN led to this unevenness in race and the truths of a real democratic race itself. I believe whether or not if you are a Christian or not, you should specifically make sure what the core beliefs of your church are…and I’m not into an all black belief based church that Obama represents. I want a church that believes for my core beliefs as well, especially if they are going to be president.. WAIT A MINUTE - Don’t forget they haven’t even got into the Rezko story yet,,,That starts March 3rd,,,,, however in the past week you have seen some good Obama Bashing and WELL DESERVED after all the Hillary bashing. They believe pretty much the same things but experience prevails as to who can accomplish what CAST YOUR VOT FOR HILLARY - THE CLINTON DAYS BROUGHT PROSPERITY TO ALL>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Looking from the outside in, President Bill Clinton was the best President the USA had in the last 20 years. Now you have the worst in history in George Bush.
Hillary in every debate has answered her questions clearly and in detail while Obama just sits there and responds with ‘ I agree with Hillary and furthermore…”. This is enough proof that demonstrates he is definitely not cut out for the job.
The media gave Hillary a rough ride. The media keeps throwing out these obscure polls where this demographic here is gaining for Obama here and another obscure poll the media throws out thats says Obama that…so what’s up with the media ?
Obama says too he wants to go and talk with the US adversaries with no preconditions. Absurd !! Why is anybody even buying into this guy’s jive talk ?
I want to add too that this is the worst and most biased media coverage of a primary and Presidential election I’ve ever seen. I challenge anyone to prove I’m wrong. I’ve been proven right in these political matters 9 times out of 10 and I’m sure I’m right now.
Obama or McCain as President will be a very bad thing for the USA.
Obama has a history of ruthless and dirty politics: From a story about how he first gained public office in the Illinois State Senate: (Chicago Tribune April 4, 2007): The day after New Year’s 1996, operatives for Barack Obama filed into a barren hearing room of the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners. There they began the tedious process of challenging hundreds of signatures on the nominating petitions of state Sen. Alice Palmer, the longtime progressive activist from the city’s South Side. And they kept challenging petitions until every one of Obama’s four Democratic primary rivals was forced off the ballot. His overwhelming legal onslaught signaled his impatience to gain office, even if that meant elbowing aside an elder stateswoman like Palmer. A close examination of Obama’s first campaign clouds the image he has cultivated throughout his political career: The man now running for president on a message of giving a voice to the voiceless first entered public office not by leveling the playing field, but by clearing it. One of the candidates he eliminated, long-shot contender Gha-is Askia, now says that Obama’s petition challenges belied his image as a champion of the little guy and crusader for voter rights. “He talks about honor and democracy, but what honor is there in getting rid of every other candidate so you can run scot-free? Why not let the people decide?” Had Palmer survived the petition challenge, Obama would have faced the daunting task of taking on an incumbent senator. Palmer’s elimination marked the first of several fortuitous political moments in Obama’s electoral success: He won the 2004 primary and general elections for U.S. Senate after tough challengers imploded when their messy divorce files were unsealed. Hence, his rapid ascent to power…
I absolutely have to disagree with this. The highlights that you have mentioned are two that yes, should be commended - however is record IS subject to much dispute concerning the times in which he has chosen, consciously NOT to vote on imperative issues within the Senate.
For instance: In 1999 Senator Obama was faced with an extremely difficult vote in the Illinois legislature, a bill which would allow Juveniles to be tried as adults. This had massive implications for African Americans and the potential to cause great controversy within that group.
VOTE: Neither yes or no. He voted ‘Present’ - effectively meaning he side stepped the issue.
130 OTHER times he took this stance within the Senate. On this note, when you state that you are shocked at the cries of millions of Americans who state that Obama lacks substance, on this issue who can really dispute this notion?
Although voting ‘present; is not unusual - it does raise the fundamental premise on which his campaign had been founded upon: he has tried to distinguish himself from Senator Clinton as a somebody who is ready to lead, who does despite popular belief, have the experience and tenacity with which to lead this incredibly bruised country.
He has not however, proved through this 130 - Present - record - that he can take on the tough issues - the issues which will undoubtedly face him on ‘Day One’ and shape the lives of the American people - if they issues present a hard line or a hard truth that people might not want to digest.
His record reflects also something else - at least 36 times Senator Obama was the ONLY state senator to vote present or was part of a tiny minority (5/6).
This is clearly with motive as opposed to being mindful of the issues at hand - his present votes stood out amongst widespread support because he has admittedly confessed to use them to register objections to part of the Bill - an act which you do, if you are mindful of running the risk of saying ‘No’. It clearly gives him political cover.
So I ask you - is this transparency…..
No….it really is more of the same. Washington Politics at its finest….
No ‘Change’ there then - a term he has so often brandished and banded around to fit his rhetoric….this time Senator Obama, I am certainly not falling for it. I hope to goodness the American people follow the lead.

First of all Obama voted for NAFTA himself in 2004 and if people especially you young voters would stop following the media; Have you ever stopped and thought that the younger generation has grown up to be media kids, meaning in a lot of instances they vote for what the media represents as the going thing - like “Obama” without even researching all the facts. Simply amazing.

Hillary won that debate in Texas and Ohio, Obama got to study… and stumble his way through the whole thing and got to respond to Hillary’s thoughts before he spoke…HMMM and you wonder why Hillary questioned why did she haven’t to go first…hmm…probably because again, the media gave him chances to respond - he looked like Hillary’s Secretary, not a Presidential Leader - Get real,,,,,,,,,,,,She roped him, hands down and HELLO TEXAS AND OHIO DON”T BE BOUGHT BY THE MEDIA!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU GO HILLARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Obama supports the upper-middle class, not the poor, average Americans searching for HOPE, you must be able to see through all these nice spoken words………………..
It’s amazing to me that people are voting for “Obama” someone that does not follow our country’s traditions, no hand during the pledge, “a Muslim past”. It’s kind of scary to see how someone can give such wonderful speeches and the media can be so biased of Hillary and he gets a free ride with free media coverage, just crazy… he’s a dreamer without any substance and HOPE is not going to change this country’s direction based on WORDS.

GO HILLARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Obama, Clinton Donating Heavily to Superdelegates’ Campaigns
by Associated Press
Thursday, February 14, 2008
The study tracked donations received by members of Congress from the candidates’ leadership PACs and from their candidate committees. It tracked donations made to governors by examining the presidential candidates’ expenditures.
Among the findings:
— Since 2005, Obama’s committees gave $228,000 to superdelegates who have endorsed him, $363,900 to those who were still undecided, and $102,400 to those who have endorsed Clinton.
–Clinton’s committee’s gave $95,000 to superdelegates who have endorsed her, $88,000 to those who
were still neutral, and $12,500 to those who have endorsed Obama.

Email Misrepresents Hillary’s Legislative Record
There is an email circulating that grossly misrepresents Hillary’s legislative record, as well as the record of Sen. Obama. (Various versions appear on the Obama campaign website here, here, and here.)
The email only gives Hillary credit for bills where she was the original sponsor and have also been signed into law. Here are the facts. In her time in the Senate, Hillary has sponsored 21 bills that have become law including:
— a bill that extended the availability of unemployment assistance.
— a bill which established a program to assist family caregivers.
— a bill that provided benefits to public safety officers who were killed or injured during the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
But Hillary’s accomplishments in the Senate are not limited to bill sponsorships. Among her many other legislative accomplishments:
— Hillary worked with Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) to expand access to health care for the National Guard and Reserve.
— Hillary passed an amendment that created a national program for teacher and principal training and recruitment.
— Hillary used Senate rules to force the Bush administration to make emergency contraception, also known as Plan B, available over the counter.
Meanwhile, the email gives Sen. Obama credit for every bill he introduced or signed on as a co-sponsor, whether or not they became law. The reality is, since Sen. Obama joined the Senate (applying the same standard the email applies to Hillary) he has sponsored two bills that have become law:
— a bill that sought to promote democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
— a bill that named a post office.

Really weird, kind of fun and totally pointless.

Obama has been concise and clear to the point; Ad of Hillary leaves a questionmark -why does it take a while to pick up the phone when she is right behind the desk-anyway doubts about Hillary why not releasing tax and white house files, if you advertise yourself as (more) experienced; too much of hiddden agenda could have been avoided; Experience is about the choices you made and hopefully learned from it, by not releasing records she shows she hasn’t learned all that much.

Clear and to the point.

He will sit down with enemies sworn to destroy us, with no preconditions, to save the world.

He will pull out of Iraq, and if Al-Qaida returns?!?!, he will invade Iraq.

He will unilaterally violate Pakistan’s border to pursue terrorists, thereby destroying our already fragile relationship with one of the very few nations we sort of get along with in that part of the world.

Oh, it’s all very clear to me. Barack has a very tiny Frenchman lodged in his brain, whispering “Surrender, my friend. Come, let us eat brie and sip wine and watch the women stroll by.”

Ari writes…

Experience is about the choices you made and hopefully learned from it, by not releasing records she shows she hasn’t learned all that much.<<<

Let’s have a look at some of the choices Obama has made.

Obama voted against tax deductions for college tuition, student loan interest, out of pocket classroom expenses for teachers, and protecting senior citizens from higher taxes on their retirement income, (vote #0083, 2007). He voted against repealing taxes on Social Security benefits. (vote #0074, 2005) He voted against prioritizing Federal spending to ensure the needs of Louisiana residents who lost their homes as a result of Hurricane Katrina and Rita were met before spending money on a nonessential visitors center. (vote #00164, 2007) He voted against safe harbor with respect to debtors who have serious medical conditions or who have been called or ordered to active duty in the Armed Forces and low income veterans. (vote #0012, 2005, GOP sponsored, passed with Democratic support)

Shall we continue? Let’s do.

He voted against increasing the military life insurance benefit for soldiers killed in action (vote #0092, 2005). He voted against funding the Department of Veterans Affairs for building and improving Veteran’s medical facilities. (vote #00111, 2006) Obama voted against allocating funds for terrorism prevention activities, including rail and transit security. (vote #00185, 2005) as well as voting against legislation to protect United States citizens from election ballots being cast by non-United States citizens and illegal aliens. (vote #00143, 2006) He then voted against prohibiting taxpayer dollars being allocated to entitlements for illegal aliens. (vote #00192, 2007)

My personal favorite…He voted against legislation that would make any person convicted of a terrorist act against the United States or its military ineligible for citizenship. (vote #00177, 2006)

So if you want to vote for a guy who makes those kinds of judgements, then be my guest. As for me a guy who says “you can bomb us and kill our soldiers and you can still become a citizen” will never get my vote.

Obama admitted that he has worked with Jewish activist from the begining of his political grassroots beginings…He’s not hiding that fact…

I think it’s also key to understand that it’s going to take more than Black folks to put Obama in the White House, so he has to have multi cultured aliances…

I am confident that Mr. Farrakhan is well aware of the politics of this Presidential run…The same delimma that Jessie had to face back in 1984…While Obama said he rejected Farrakhan’s position toward Israel (and his campaign support even though it hasn’t been offered), Obama stopped short of rejected the man himself…Hillary tried hard to get him to do just that…

I’m sure in the weeks and months to come, some in the media (and maybe even Hillary herself) will attempt to get him to “reject and denounce” the man Farrakhan himself…Based on what Obama has said, he’s not trying to reject Mr. Farrakhan…Obama is only trying to distance himself from the beliefs of Mr. Farrakhan…

I know I know, man it’s politics…But is there any other road to the White House? Hopefully one day we’ll have more Black American Presidential candidates to choose from…That’ll be ideal…But we have got to get the first one in doc!

you are right, McCain’s foreign policy is much better. Bomb, bomb, bomb…Iran
—————————————

Thank you sir may I have another?

I realize you are being sarcastic, but there is more truth there than you may believe.

The US stance in the mid east over the last 30 years has far more to do with what Europe and folks east think of us than what the Islamists have done to us. We have spent years trying to avoid treading on the delicate sensibilities of the French and Germans, and to avoid angering our former cold war foes.

The result is a perception in the Islamic world and in Cuba, South America, China and Korea that we are weak and lack the will to stand up for ourselves. We have been kicked in the sack over and over again, while our so called allies fret and wring their hands and wonder aloud what terrible thing we must have done to merit such treatment.

I realize that world politics are not a simplistic one on one wrestling match, but the time for diplomacy with the likes of Iran, North Korea and others is long past.

Military solutions are not the only solutions. We still yield a huge financial punch.

My number 1 priority would be to strip China of Most Favored Nation status. If that isn’t enough, we should then levy massive import tariffs on Chinese goods and escalate them until they scream uncle.

The key to Kim Il Jung is China. If they say Frog, that little freak will hop.

Syria, Hezbollah, Fatah, Al-Qaida, Hamas, they all dance to Iran’s tune. Neutralize Iran and you’ve won at least half of the battle against Islamic terrorism.

We are in or are friendly with some countries surrounding Iran. Put some pressure on, plus step up to help Turkmenistan in breaking the Russian pipeline monopoly and we can effectively isolate Iran’s oil exports and completely crush them economically.

Baahhh! What’s the use? No one in this country has any balls any more.

Good chuckle there. Thanks.

I’m not sure guarding the door while Bill played with cigars really counts as Oval Office time.

While listening to Hannity on the radio talking about his stop Obama campaign you can clearly see that he is working really hard to play the devils advocate. He and Limbaugh are besides themselves that a black man has gotten this far in a presidential race so they and every other hard nosed republican are in overdrive trying to accomplish their goal.Since this election has gotten tighter you can really see the true spirit of how far we have come since the days of the marches of Martin Luther King and other civil rights leaders.Seems to me that there is a few people out there that don’t want to see either a woman or a black win this race Mr Hannity included. The good thing is that the republicans are still not to happy with McCain. And evidently alot of others are not to sure about him either. So that is probably why everyone is on this bandwagon to get Obama. But it is not going to work.

Maybe Senator Obama should explain his tie to William Ayers from the Weather Underground — a known TERRORIST! I really believe that if the American people really knew what kind of person he was and who he was connected to, they certainly wouldn’t be voting for him! Here is a report from Bloomberg:

“Besides Rezko and Giannoulias, Obama could face questions about his relationship with William Ayers, a former member of the radical group the Weather Underground who is now a professor of education at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Ayers donated $200 in 2001 to Obama’s Illinois state Senate campaign and served with him from 1999 to 2002 on the nine-member board of the Woods Fund, an anti-poverty group.
A Series of Bombings
The Weather Underground carried out a series of bombings in the early 1970s — including the U.S. Capitol and the Pentagon. While Ayers was never prosecuted for those attacks, he told the New York Times in an interview published Sept. 11, 2001, that “I don’t regret setting bombs.” …”Bill Burton, Obama’s spokesman, said Ayers “does not have a role on the campaign.” Ayers said he had no comment on his relationship with Obama.”

WAKE UP AMERICA!!!

Did it ever cross your mind that Hannity et al.. may not want a liberal in office.
Or are you so blinded by your own victim status the everywhere you look is sexism and racism??
A lot of people are truly concerned about the direction in which Hillary or Obama will take this country.
Some of them might even go as far as voting for a person without taking into account their race or gender.
I may be wrong but that is what I got out of Dr. King’s “I have a dream speech”!

Well, let’s give this a little consideration.

I lived in the Chicago area until last year and followed state and local politics very closely.

I know that BO was a political nobody who caught eye of the Daley Machine. He was given his state Senate seat by the Machine, where he did virtually nothing for 6 years. When the Dems took control of the Senate, BO caught the eye of Emil Jones. He was handed every plum bill Jones could dig up for him to build a resume. The goal was to create a US Senator.

During the US Senate race, the Dems dug deep and hard and turned a minor past problem into a major current scandal for the Republican candidate. They published his ex-wife’s sealed statements from their divorce against the Republican. The ex refused to confirm or deny the truth of the statement. You see, she had used those statements to gain custody of the children. If she denied them publicly, she would face contempt charges and possibly lose the kids. But she refused to confirm the statements. She simply said that the man was a very good and loving father.

So, riding a manufactured scandal into office, BO the sat on his duff and did essentially nothing, until the he was chosen as a rising star and given the lead speech at the 2004 convention. He sat and did nothing for another 2 years until the Dems took the Senate, at which point he really started doing pretty much nothing, because doing something would interfere with his campaign for President.

So, I know enough. More than enough, thank you.

I doubt you are even aware that your last comments are exactly why we can’t afford BO in office.

We need a leader, not a speaker. BO is a speaker. He says very little of substance, but he says it very well.

There would not be anything wrong if he said he was not Christian. But he professes to be Christian and attends Church regularly. Under those circumstances question arises. There is also doubt that he is hiding his Islamic and Madrassa backgrounds. His father was a devout Muslim. That his father had considerable influence on him from the fact that he made him Kenyan Citizen.

There is a dark cloud hanging on America. The press and his opponents are giving him a pass. Everybody should think of the following and judge him with your head not emotion.

BARAK HUSSEIN OBAMA

LOUIS FARRAKHAN

MADRASSA

PROUD TO BE AMERICAN FOR THE FIRST TIME

AFRICAN-AMERICAN

CITIZEN OF KENYA

The only change Obama will give us is CHANGE IN OUR POCKETS. Hagel or Lugar in Obamas administration does not offer change, that is Washington on the wrong side.

Hillary, Obama and even McCain will all reach across party lines. They will all offer change. Obama offers change with uncertainty, Hillary offers change with predicitabilty and stabilty!!!

Obama has lobbyists in his campaign advising him. Big deal they don’t contribute money to him, but they still advise him. Obama is so full of it. People think Bush is arrogant, well Obama is 100 times more arrogant and so is his wife.

I am a democrat but if Hillary is not the nominee, my vote goes to McCain!!!!!!!!!!

Comment by Bill

Mcain just looks better and better. It’s just too funny watching democrats attack each other over racial and gender issues. Demos are in such a hurry to elect a female or minority candidate they forgot to find one actually qualified to be President. For all the complaints anbout Obamas experience Hillary’s is thin as ice also. If you asked the average person to name one of Hills accomplishments you would be hard pressed to find one that could come up with anything. 35 years of riding Bills coattails and 1 full term in the senate? LOL! At least Obama comes with the ability to provide leadership without insulting those that dont agree with him.

Comment by Blair

It’s interesting to read the comments. It’s interesting how people claim to understand but really have no clue. It’s scary that people do not know their history. Point #1 Experience - I am not quit sure what experience Hillary has that you guys are referencing? She’s had no executive experience, niether has Obama, or McCain. Hillary has 6 years of legislative experience. Obama has 10 years legislaytive exeperience 6 as a state senator, and 4 in the US Senate. That’s 10 years of experience as an elected offical. Which mean someone somewhere voted for him to represent them. Before she was elected to the Senate, Hillary had never held an elected office of any kind. So lets review - No executive experience - which means she’s never run a state, city, or a business of any kind. She’s definitey has experience being a corporate attorney. Someone please tell me how it’s applicable to the job she’s interviewing for? Her husband was govenor of a state, and U.S. President, but so was Laura Bush’s husband. I don’t hear any of you saying she should run? Again please help me understand how it’s applicable? Hillary’s healthcare plan failed So she has that experience I guess. Of Failing. But what other forms of legislature did Hillary herself introduce and pass while her husband was President for eight years? And on whose behalf? Nobody at that point had elected her to represent them?

Point #2 - With regard to words and inspiring people. History says that people who say words don’t change anything are wrong. Thomas Jefferson wrote one of the greatest peices of literature of all time. Those words inspired a bunch of farmers, and immagrant settelers to stand their gorund against the mighty British Empire for the cause of Republicanism. Which at the time had no other reference point. There was no history of a democracy up till that point to where these people could hang their hats and say “We know this works because….” or We’re willing to fight for this becuase we’ve seen os & so do it and it worked for them. They as Obama has said numerous times, had to HOPE. Hope that this cause they were inspired to get behind, would amount to something. Gandhi as the leader of the Indian Independence Movement, led nationwide campaigns for the alleviation of poverty, for the liberation of women, for brotherhood amongst different religious and ethnic groups. His words and teachings of non violence inspired millions around the world, and brought attention to the cause of civil and human rights. Marting Luther King inspired millions, based on Gandhi’s teachings, to make the same changes in this country. Anybody who says that they were “proud” of their country during the time of Jim Crow, Domestic terrorist like the Ku Klux Klan, lynchings, police misconduct, blatant racism, the Tuskeghee Experiement which didn’t end until 1975, and laws that allowed this country to legally treat it’s citizens as less than, their patriotism should be questioned. But I digress. Noone is saying that Obama is any of these people. But please understand that history has indicated that there is a precedent for words changing things.

Lastly, didn’t we democrats lose the last election, in ‘04 by tellling all of the redneck, low educated, war/fear mongers, in those red states that they were stupid and dumb for voting for Bush? History says that stategy doesn’t work either.

Yes, I have a question for Obama….Ummm, Why did you steal Joe Anthonys myspace website???
HMMMM? This kid worked years making this myspace site for you to campaigne FOR YOU, Getting people to vote FOR YOU, donations FOR YOU, and in return, you steal the site right from underneith him. You are pretty sick committe to do this to someone who only supported you. I just learned this from the letter Joe Anthony wrote on another one of his sites. Its a disgrace. Guess who I wouldnt vote for???

Obama says that he can get Hillary votes, but can he? He and McCain are to close to call in both New Jersey and New Mexico, both states that Hillary won. When was the last time New Jersey voted Republican? 1988? Something to think about before going to the polls.

The real laugh is Obama’s people saying that Obama has better experience and judgement than John McCain.

Is Obama saying that McCain has the wrong kind of experience because McCain served in our military?

Dear Dear Bren

It must be nice the the world you live in. A world where teenagers don’t do stupid things. Had he known he was going to be running for President 20 years later when he was 46 he might not have tried the cocaine when he was 17 years old. let this be a lesson to all high school and college kids.

I have to agree with you tho’ in one area. We do need to question a 17 year old’s judgement before we make them the leader of the free world. Couldn’t agree with you more. To think that you thought of that all on your own. Impressive! Brilliant! Maybe we’ll vote for you.
