my husband and i have discussed it and we are going to have to move to a city that has better job opportunitys but it will mean having to sell our home(bottom falling out of the housing market) buying anew home and moving our family including two disabled persons. just to find a job
mccain is so out of step with the general population it ain't even funny

the bottom line is america is tired of supporting all the third world countrys and failing herself we have starving people we have millions without affordable healthcare our elderly can't afford the medicines they need to survive. our jobs are being shipped overseas daily. my husband has just became a casualty of nafta the other day

SO YES I GUESS GOV HUCKABEE HAS AT LEAST 1 UNEMPLOYED SUPPORTER

and to whoever said that it was callous but you have no idea how many unemployed people there are and alot of them not of their own making
again the polls that show the unemployment rates do not acurately reflect those who are unemployed because that only shows those who draw unemployment

my husbands whole plant had the doors shut and were denied unemployment and we are all having to appeal because of bureaucratic red tape. we have over 1000 employees out of a job in a town of 30,000

Anthony I am responding to your post. Mike has stated that the implementation of the Fair Tax would have to go hand in hand with the repeal of the 16th amendment. He is for a flat tax and has discussed it as a progression to the Fair Tax.

I am very interested in the Fair Tax and what it offers in the way of Tax reform for us. I am concerned about the potential for fraud under a consumption tax plan that I haven't resolved in my mind yet. My bigger concern though is with the repeal of the 16th amendment and getting the legislation approved that would be necessary for enacting a consumption tax program. In the event Mr. Huckabee could not get the support he needs to enact a Fair Tax program, does he support any other type of tax reform, such as a flat tax, that could be done without Constitutional amendment?

Oh, and I just read some comments about Fair Tax...

Again, Huckabee is preserving Bush' tax cuts until either Fair Tax goes through, or he can lower taxes through a Flat Tax. It has to go through Congress, that is why we must support Republican conservative people for Congress, as well, as they are running right now too. I must say, McCain has not pledged to lower taxes, as Huckabee has. And, he has a record of actually trying to prevent Bush's tax cuts from going through.

Given this, with the only candidates left running.... Huckabee is the only one who is advocating to lower and eliminate taxes. This is key and crucial. So, whether you like Fair or Flat Tax better, McCain, Obama, and Clinton are not advocating for either of these and arenot advocating to lower taxes at all! Instead, these three want to increase taxes.
You guys would really like to see less taxes, too, it sounds, so this is good. Thanks!

And, they thought Lincoln could not win either in 1960, but he did, even after many rounds... it was long, exhaustive, and really a miracle.... it was via a brokered convention and Lincoln was also a long-shot. Check it out...

Your viewers might be interested in this conversation I had with a person I met who was from Arkansas. Mike's opponents claim that he loves taxes, so when I met this person I asked what they thought of Mike's fiscal decisions. Here is their reply.

"I was very supportive of Gov. Huckabee's fiscal policies. The media has created the impression that Mike just came in, ran up a huge tab, and sent us Arkansans the bill and this is simply not the case. The voters decided in the polls on many of the issues they speak of involving taxes. The best example is the gasoline tax which passed with flying colors. Our highways were in the worst shape of any state in the country and the people of Arkansas were fed up with the impotence of previous policy makers regarding the importance of healthy infrastructure. We overwhelmingly embraced Gov. Huckabee's ideas and, as a result, now have the most improved roads in the country.

Gov. Huckabee changed the face of education in Arkansas, causing it to save Arkansas tax payers millions. Reforms put in place by Mike made Arkansas public schools much more economically efficient, while at the same time pumping up the arts, which I believe will end the "ignorant Arkansan" stereotype in time. No previous governor in Arkansas was bold enough to accept the inevitable challenge of fixing Arkansas education. Gov. Huckabee handled it with grace, wisdom, and, ultimately, success.

Gov. Huckabee's health reforms in the state took Arkansans from among the most unhealthy in the country to a trend of setting examples of healthy lifestyles. His Arkids First program is a sort of "no child left behind" policy in health care that has and is experiencing marvelous success.

The list goes on and on. Many in my state feel that Gov. Huckabee has been the best thing to happen to Arkansas in recent, or maybe even not so recent memory. And that is saying something when referencing a republican in a state that is 99.9% Clinton-built democrat."

Of course this is just one person, but as I talk to other people from Arkansas, I get pretty much the same picture.

You have heard it before, but I will say it again - do your research, think for yourself, vote with your heart. You will be glad you did.

GOOO MIKE!!!!!!

American Conservative,
That sure is an earful, and I must say it is a great bash of Huckabee. Please tell me though who besides Jesus Christ would be good enough for you to vote for? If you did not vote for Romney because of his wealth then the only thing left is his faith. I don’t care about religion, so I do not want to go there.
Now you may go on and on about how conservative your candidate is or was. But I ask you: Who earned the name Flip Flopper?

you ask me ” I would like for you to provide to us all the sources you researched when you said you read a lot about the man”
Then you say:”P.S. please do not provide biased and amateuristic articles written about Romney. I do not have the time to expose the untruthfullness of those as well.”

Not to worry. I do not care to redo all my research for you about a candidate that is no longer in the race. But I would if I thought you had an open mind. There are plenty of negative articles about all the candidates floating around.

What I do not understand is the fact that anyone calling himself or herself a conservative would vote for McCain over Huckabee. A person that does this is not IMHO a conservative.

@ Jim

Unlike Huckabee, McCain could actually win in November, and the Democrats have to be extremely careful going after McCain for the following reasons.

1. He's a veteran
2. he's able to work with both sides of the aisle
3. he's against earmarks
4. they can't criticize him on domestic issues without looking like idiots
5. McCain is a moderate
6. McCain has been endorsed by Joseph Lieberman
7. If they aren't careful attacking him they're liable to tick off seniors
