Action! Hillary Hits Obama’s Rhetoric in Ohio
WESTERVILLE, OH — Senator Hillary Clinton’s choice of music carried into her speech at a Canvassing Kick-Off event near Columbus – where she ditched most of her National Security attacks on Barack Obama, but continued to contrast her opponent’s rhetoric to her record.
“For some people, this election is about how you feel. It’s about speeches,” she told the crowd of about 2,000 supporters and volunteers. “That’s not what it’s about for me. It’s about solutions, rolling up your sleeves, having a fighter back in the White House that will solve America’s problems.”
“It may because, yes, I have been around awhile. I’ve been around doing this work for 35 years.”
That experience, she says, makes her best qualified to handle those crisis calls at 3am – both of the national security and economic varieties.
“Think about what could happen if there were unrest in Nigeria. A terrorist attack in Saudi Arabia. Oil would shoot to $150 a barrel,” she said. “And because we as a nation would rather hold hands with the Saudis than stand up to them, we are dependent on foreign oil in a way that is dangerous for our future.”
She may be running as the candidate of substance, but Senator Clinton insists she’s no slouch behind a podium herself. “I’ve given a lot of speeches in my life,” she said. “Probably, I don’t know, hundreds of thousands. Sometimes I finish a speech and people come up to me and say ‘that was so inspiring,’ and ‘it made me feel so good.’ I say ‘well that’s great, but that’s just words.’ Our job is to make a difference.”
She told the crowd she’s specific because she wants voters to hold her accountable. “I don’t want you to leave my events and say that was wonderful, but what was said? And what was it about? What are we going to do?”

I love this question and am glad the Clinton team raised it. The problem is that they’re not so great at answering. When I asked campaign staffers for examples of Clinton being tested by a foreign-policy challenge, their response was pretty weak. As Patrick Healy reported in the New York Times, Hillary Clinton did not have a security clearance during her husband’s administration, so she wasn’t in the room for the brutal moments he faced. Her aides named the slew of uniformed retired military officials who have endorsed her, including several four-star generals. That’s nice, but it’s not proof of her mettle. When you make an ad like this, your case for your woman should be stronger than a list of endorsements.
Mark Penn pointed me to Clinton’s 1995 speech in Beijing, in which she declared that women’s rights were human rights. A fine speech and a great message, and boy, I bet her hosts didn’t like it one bit, but that doesn’t really constitute the testing that this powerful ad brings to mind. Also, if we’re talking about speeches, then I think Obama has that covered. He has been arguing for some time that he made a speech in 2002 about why the Iraq war was a bad idea. And hasn’t the Clinton team been knocking that back as just a speech?

Senator Clinton represent the following:
1. Divisiveness — her dirty politics are the same tactics used by the Republicans and is doing nothing but causing her own party to divide, which means nothing to her because she will do anything to gain power.
2. Being a Follower — The fact that Sen. Clinton criticised Barack Obama for saying that he would meet with his adversaries without preconditions in an attempt to build a better relationship with enemy countries, but sided with the failed foreign policies of George Bush on the same issue, which has the US not talk to it’s adversaries because they don’t do exactly what the US says is not a sign of a strong leader. Cuba and other countries that are so called enemies of the US have not and will not respond to this type politics. It’s a failed method and has done nothing more than lead this country to war. Common sense is obviously lacking with Clinton, McCain and obviously George Bush. Obama had the leadership qualities needed in a commander and chief and his forward thinking on this issue is evidence of that. If Hillary is elected President of the US and this type of foreign policy thinking lead to another war which cost America Billions of dollars, thus hurting the economy, she’ll have the excuse that war prevented her from fixing the economy.
3. Poor Judgement– She voted to authorize an “inexperienced” president in George Bush to go to war in IRAQ.
4. Secrecy — The fact that she’s afraid to release her tax returns tells us that she’s against having a transparent government. The government is always keeping information from the people and Sen. Clinton represents more of the same by her refusal to release her tax returns.
5. Selfishness — This country morality is getting wores and the values have flown out the window. Evidence of this is displayed every day on the highways in the lack of courtesy motorist display toward one another. Sen. Clinton represent this decline in our country values with her win at all cost attitude. She doesn’t really care about uniting the democratic party, because her negative campaign is doing nothing more than dividing the party. Her fear mongering further illustrate this. To have her campaign to start a rumor on the internet to suggest Sen. Barrack Obama is a muslin and then to post pictures on the internet of Obama in an african attire to futher stir the fears that he is muslin and not loyal to the US is one of the lowest things her camp could do. She comes out waving flyers that the Obama camp put out on her on NAFTA (which was true) as some sort of low down dirty trick out of the C.R republican book, saying shame on you Barack, but spreading false rumors and providing pictures of Barack in african attire to fan the flames of the rumor that her camp started that Barack Obama is a muslin and not loyal to the US is some how ok. She is a hypocrite and as selfish as they come. A vote for her is a vote against taking back the government by the people, which Barack Obama is trying to give the American people. This opportunity to take back our government by putting someone that wants to make the government trasparent to the people and work for the people may never come around again in our life time.

Here’s politics at it’s best! Obama realizes his muslim background could be a problem so he goes on the offensive before the General Elections. He has one of his people put out a photo of Obama in traditional garb knowing Hillary will be blamed. It not only negatively impacts Hillary but limits McCains ability to point out Obama’s tolerance of the radical Islamic movement.
As much as I dislike Obama and the Democrats overall, I must admit they are way better at damage control. I thinks in large part, it’s due to the nievity of the youth movement over there but never the less, it’s effective and deserves recognition.

There has been countless women rulers that have wage war and killed inocent people. It’s people like you that like to polarize arguments based on race and gender.

I don’t like to counter any argument based on ignorance, but if I was to do so I could say women can’t even get along with each other and argue over the most petty things, so how can they be a great leader. Given in to stereo types is what’s wrong in this world and a reason the Clinton camp circulated false information about Sen. Obama being a muslin. Hillary has shown that she will disagree with Barack for the sake of disagreeing or go on a rant that has nothing to do with the question. If Hillary make a good point that Barack believes is the right answer, Barack will acknowledge his opponent and briefly follow up with additional information. Hillary need to learn how to do the same. Maybe she should study the words denounce and reject.
I hate to disappoint you Black Hillarican but I would not waste my vote on Nader, but you are right Democrats should watch themselves Nader could be a problem for them. Just like I think they will be suprised in the fall to find out that a lot of the voters that have determined their primaries will be voting Republican.

Yet both of the Dems advocate sitting down with those who have sponsored, supported and funded violent attacks on our nation, our citizens abroad, our military and our friends. These attacks have been ongoing since Iran took our embassy.
They want to follow the path of Slick Willy and Jimmy Carter. They will condemn us to global mediocrity and worse.

We basically wasted billions of dollars and continue to waste billions of dollars trying to put in place a puppet government in Iraq that we can control in order to control the oil and it hasn’t gone too well has it. Those dollars wasted could have gone to schools, repairing roads etc. People like you don’t know your butt-hole from your ear-hole…. it’s amazing.

LOL! Yeah, I guess when you’re fighting over land that you believe is yours, you will continue to have war until the land is returned which will never happen.
However, that is not the US problem and why we go to war but you wouldn’t know that. For us to have a similar problem to Israel’s, we’ll have to have a war with the Indians but we know that will never happen because they have been basically wiped out. Either Israel take your approach and wipe out the Palestinians or give back the land… that’s your diplomacy.
