Lewis Switches Allegiance

There’s been a lot of talk lately about “tough decisions,” and “uncomfortable conversations” when Hillary Clinton’s name is brought up on Capitol Hill these days.

The latest victim of that apparent agony is Rep. John Lewis, an elder of the civil rights movement, and one of the coveted Super Delegates, who announced today that despite his friendship with Hillary Clinton, he would be backing Barack Obama instead.

His rational echoed that of so many others. He said he was surprised by Obama, by the burst of enthusiasm around his candidacy, that Lewis says is proof that “something is happening in America,” the same line Barack Obama often uses in his victory speeches.

It’s what Sen. Chris Dodd said in announcing his support of Barack Obama yesterday. He seemed unsettled by his decision too, saying he cared deeply about Senator Clinton and the phone call was not easy.

As difficult as it may be for her colleagues, even Hillary Clinton has said it’s not a bad problem to have. Friendships and loyalties have always been casualties of politics. But much like everything else in this business, the pain is usually temporary too.

This is a crock and he knows it. His supporters (almost all African American) have been haranging this guy to shift to Obama, the savior of mankind. In some Georgia churches he is being touted as the second coming of Jesus Christ. With all of the “American Idol” hysteria, what choice did he have to switch alliances? If you want to stay where you are, you have to be willing to do the bidding of the people that put you there or supported you. That’s true even if you don’t believe in what you are doing. He doesn’t, but he won’t tell you that.

I guess he HOPES for CHANGE. Can we do it? YES WE CAN! (Same line fed to 3 year olds watching Bob the Builder so you see what kind of voters he has).

Comment by why?

More to come, Obama will and can unite this country and restore our great standing in this world, despite the “nay” sayers! the second comming of “jesus christ”? jesus my savior has nothing to do with this, this is a presidential election. super delegates should follow thier constituants, Obama would have wrapped this up last week.

It is a shame that someone caves to what other people want rather that stand firm by thier decision right or wrong. This is just called flip flopping. He will be re-elected when he runs again and thats why he changed. If he is Mrs. Clinton’s “friend” I’d hate to see what he would do if he were an enemy. I don’t trust obama, there’s just something there I don’t trust. He’s toooo smooth for my taste and we don’t know alot about him. I am a independent but if it comes down to Senator McCain or Senator Obama, it will be my vote for another 4 crushing years of republicans in office. I just don’t trust Obama.

Barack Obama was born in Hawaii on August 4th, 1961. His father, Barack Obama Sr., was born and raised in a small village in Kenya, where he grew up herding goats with his own father, who was a domestic servant to the British.

Barack’s mother, Ann Dunham, grew up in small-town Kansas. Her father worked on oil rigs during the Depression, and then signed up for World War II after Pearl Harbor, where he marched across Europe in Patton’s army. Her mother went to work on a bomber assembly line, and after the war, they studied on the G.I. Bill, bought a house through the Federal Housing Program, and moved west to Hawaii.

It was there, at the University of Hawaii, where Barack’s parents met. His mother was a student there, and his father had won a scholarship that allowed him to leave Kenya and pursue his dreams in America.

Barack’s father eventually returned to Kenya, and Barack grew up with his mother in Hawaii, and for a few years in Indonesia. Later, he moved to New York, where he graduated from Columbia University in 1983.

The College Years
Remembering the values of empathy and service that his mother taught him, Barack put law school and corporate life on hold after college and moved to Chicago in 1985, where he became a community organizer with a church-based group seeking to improve living conditions in poor neighborhoods plagued with crime and high unemployment.

The group had some success, but Barack had come to realize that in order to truly improve the lives of people in that community and other communities, it would take not just a change at the local level, but a change in our laws and in our politics.

He went on to earn his law degree from Harvard in 1991, where he became the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review. Soon after, he returned to Chicago to practice as a civil rights lawyer and teach constitutional law. Finally, his advocacy work led him to run for the Illinois State Senate, where he served for eight years. In 2004, he became the third African American since Reconstruction to be elected to the U.S. Senate.

Political Career
It has been the rich and varied experiences of Barack Obama’s life - growing up in different places with people who had differing ideas - that have animated his political journey. Amid the partisanship and bickering of today’s public debate, he still believes in the ability to unite people around a politics of purpose - a politics that puts solving the challenges of everyday Americans ahead of partisan calculation and political gain.

In the Illinois State Senate, this meant working with both Democrats and Republicans to help working families get ahead by creating programs like the state Earned Income Tax Credit, which in three years provided over $100 million in tax cuts to families across the state. He also pushed through an expansion of early childhood education, and after a number of inmates on death row were found innocent, Senator Obama worked with law enforcement officials to require the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases.

In the U.S. Senate, he has focused on tackling the challenges of a globalized, 21st century world with fresh thinking and a politics that no longer settles for the lowest common denominator. His first law was passed with Republican Tom Coburn, a measure to rebuild trust in government by allowing every American to go online and see how and where every dime of their tax dollars is spent. He has also been the lead voice in championing ethics reform that would root out Jack Abramoff-style corruption in Congress.

As a member of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, Senator Obama has fought to help Illinois veterans get the disability pay they were promised, while working to prepare the VA for the return of the thousands of veterans who will need care after Iraq and Afghanistan. Recognizing the terrorist threat posed by weapons of mass destruction, he traveled to Russia with Republican Dick Lugar to begin a new generation of non-proliferation efforts designed to find and secure deadly weapons around the world. And knowing the threat we face to our economy and our security from America’s addiction to oil, he’s working to bring auto companies, unions, farmers, businesses and politicians of both parties together to promote the greater use of alternative fuels and higher fuel standards in our cars.

Whether it’s the poverty exposed by Katrina, the genocide in Darfur, or the role of faith in our politics, Barack Obama continues to speak out on the issues that will define America in the 21st century. But above all his accomplishments and experiences, he is most proud and grateful for his family. His wife, Michelle, and his two daughters, Malia, 9, and Sasha, 6, live on Chicago’s South Side where they attend Trinity United Church of Christ.

Comment by Sam Whitecloud

That odd you say he attends the Trinity United Church. It appears he is trying to distance his self as far as he can from his own church.

But if Obama wins the presidency, he will have to also then answer for all the mistakes that will be made. So will all the others.

Too many of these politicians sway like trees in the wind.

Why don’t you people read about your precious Obama.

It is amazing that people are this stupid. Obama is a member of a black racist church who’s main purpose is Africa and black only promotion, led by a racist preacher who loves and praises Lewis Farrakhan, leader of Nation of Islam.

Look up Farrakhan ( Nation of Islam) and Reverend Wright on the web people………do some homework, read what Obama’s church stands for.

Listen to Reverend Wrights sermons on You Tube. You will not believe it.

Obama has been a member of this church for 20 years.

I will never vote for this man. I will stay home if he gets the nomination.

How is it that his mother taught him comunity service when he was basically raised by his grandparents. I would like to hear more of what they instilled in him. Not that I doubt his mother was in his life and taught him alot but why not give some credit to his grandparents.

Comment by Ty

He switched simply to reflect the will of his constituency. Anybody who attributes this to his race or the race of the majority of his constituency is simply afraid of the reality that someone from a diverse background, that many whites don’t understand or care about, has for the moment a legitimate chance of becoming the most powerful man in the world.

charly BE A FRAID BE VERY AFRAID!!! Obama is out to get you. come on, you should hear my “white church” sermon. people thinking that the president makes all the decisions, just show they really do not know how our government works. you act like he can invoke anything he wants. you forget that thier is this other part of our government called “the house of represenatives” Obama can not act on his own will, nor do i think he wants to, you should really look at his “blue print for change” it’s impressive, but he can only do it with the american people, we all know that there will always be that few, that just hate him because of his name or middle name or because he is black or because his church is racist. but, this whole thing is so much more than what these simple minded people make it out to be. it’s not about gender or white america or black america it’s about the united states of america!

Thomas V. DiBacco - Orlando Sentinel (Florida)

It’s shameful that the media over the past several months has not leveled the playing field in covering Hillary Clinton’s quest for the Democratic presidential nomination. Clinton’s every misstep has been highlighted, from staffing to campaign budgeting, and even when she has performed better than her opponent, Barack Obama, the thumbs-up from commentators goes to Obama.

One example: the final debate before the Super Tuesday elections. By any reasonable yardstick, Clinton was the more articulate and knowledgeable about issues and legislation, some of which she had a hand in crafting during her seven years in the U.S. Senate. Yet pundits, with few exceptions, singled out Obama’s performance because Obama hammered his opponent’s voting in support of the Iraq war, no matter that he had the luxury at that time of not being a member of Congress.

Obama’s resume is thin — and that’s obvious when supporters have to talk about his record at law school, a strategy appropriate for first-year job seekers but scarcely for presidential candidates. His eight-year career in the Illinois Senate is lackluster, marred by voting “present” 129 times, thereby avoiding the difficult choice of “yes” or “no” on proposed legislation.

Shame on the media. In terms of grace, proposed programs, energy and enthusiasm, knowledge and abilities, and executive demeanor, Hillary Clinton can hold her own among any of the candidates in both parties…

She told the audience that she was not excited, she interrupted him by asking him to bring some bugs spray, since the girls were afraid of bugs.

Mrs. Obama mentioned in an interview that Mr. Obama left the campaing to attend PTA meetings. While he could not have left the campaign to attend his duties in the legislation. I commend Mr. Obama for his sense of family obligation, but a Commander in Chief needs to be a father to this whole nation.

Lastly, if Mr. Obama were to become the nominee, the country will be far more divided than ever. Although I’m black, I truly believe thatMrs. Clinton is the best person for the nomination. Many african american do not seem to agree with me. TAfrican american see their chance of electing a black president, but fail to realize the urgency we are facing with the economy, health care, education and foreigh policy.

Erie, PA - Today Erie Mayor Joseph E. Sinnott announced that he is endorsing Senator Hillary Clinton for President. Mayor Sinnott joins an impressive list of Clinton supporters in Pennsylvania.

“I have decided to support Senator Clinton for President,” said Mayor Sinnott. “I believe that her work on many of the important matters facing this county have best prepared her to be our next President. She has taken on such issues as universal health care, increasing the minimum wage, ending discrimination, affordable and accessible education, job training and the environment. These are some of the most important challenges facing our community, our commonwealth and our nation. I believe that her experience with these and other issues makes her the best choice for President of the United States.”

“I am proud to have such strong support in Pennsylvania,” said Senator Clinton. “We will be working hard to harness our grass roots enthusiasm throughout the state and I look forward to working with Mayor Sinnott as President to meet the challenges facing Erie head on.”

Mayor Sinnott is a lifelong resident of Erie where he graduated from Academy High School in 1984, and Gannon University in 1988. He attended Case Western Reserve, School of Law and has spent much of his career working on environmental and commercial litigation issues. Mayor Sinnott completed two years of a four-year term on City Council, 2004 through 2005, and was elected Mayor of the City of Erie, in November 2005. He has the distinction of being the only mayor to have been a city employee and City Councilman prior to becoming Mayor.

Let’s keep it real all you Clinton fans. Obama and Clinton virtually agree on most of the issues with a few minor differences on some issues. I happen to disagree with both on many of the issues, but will not support a republican candidate who thinks oil in Iraq is more important than jobs in the US. The question is whose vision for tomorrow do we lean towards.

Oh yeah…the play on Obama’s middle name, Hussein, is hate, nothing more. Playing on the fears of ignorant white folk is a desperate move.

What about Mass. - I guess Kennedy should give his delegates to Hillary - SHE did win his state - fair & square!!! Give em up Kennedy.

Comment by Arlene Kovelesky

I give my entire permission and would be very happy if anyone in the news business wants to talk about or quote any part of this comment.

I don’t know why more people aren’t talking about the very obvious discrimination going on within the Democratic Primary between Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama. I am very disappointed with the black citizens of this United States. Many many many of you are voting for Obama because he is a black man. Period. Perhaps the women were a tad more torn about voting for Obama instead of a woman, like themselves. Nevertheless, I can see this steamrolling across America and it saddens me. If Barak Obama is elected as the Democratic presidential candidate this year I truly don’t want to hear of all the horrid discrimination being done against blacks all over the United States. All Black colleges, why can’t we open all White colleges? Blacks are always getting arrested . . duh! Get a job. This primary election is shameful and truly an insult to Hillary Clinton, a friend of the “people” - not just blacks and whites. Just because a black person has a chance at being elected President doesn’t mean that you should vote blindly, “color blind.” Most blacks are voting for what is on the outside of him, his skin color and his cute little way with words. Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, is being insulted by not having people really look at her qualities. Certainly she has much more than being the first woman possibly to get elected President. Geraldine Ferara several years ago was running for Vice President on the Democratic ticket. Many women supported Ms. Ferara because she was a woman. That isn’t right.

What should be looked at is what each candidate has accomplished with hard work, not what they say they will do when they are elected President. Mr. Obama, ‘Yes You Can!’ make it to the White House (another phrase you say as your own but was used by another black person years ago). Mr. Obama, ‘Yes I Can’ see you clearly winning this election this year and ‘Yes I Can’ see exactly why.

I am a white woman who was also brought up in the projects with black neighbors all around. I went to a 98% all black Junior High School. The first best friend I ever had and still think about was black. I have many friends and acquaintences who are black. My mother, who died two years ago at age 98, brought us up with the belief that everyone should be good to everyone no matter the color of their skin. The first two weeks of my life were spent at my neighbors house because my mother had to stay at the hospital. They were a black family. My father fished to give food to all the neighbors who were having a hard time feeding their families.

So no, I am not prejudiced against the black race. I am extremely disappointed in the black race at this time in the primaries though. It is so very obvious how almost all of blacks voted and are voting for this unknown, not very accomplished yet, young man. Why would you do that if it is not for the reason that his skin is the same color as yours? Voting for the President of the United States and I’ll bet 85% of you don’t know anything about him other than he draws crowds and speaks well. REALLY ask yourselves the reason why you voted for Mr. Obama in the primaries so far. REALLY ask yourselves if you are proud of voting for this man and leaving your once first choice for President, Hillary Clinton, because this was the first black man to have a chance at being President. Should taste a little bitter, not sit well with you in the end.

I am positive the black giddy tide has voted for a black man. Period. Not many are talking about that in the news - I guess they don’t want to be the first one to say something about the black race that might ‘offend’ you all. Well I am offended by you all. Shameful. And for those in politics who are black and feel bullied into switching your original choice of the white Ms. Clinton to the black Mr. Obama, you are not who I want representing me in this United States - you are dishonest to all the people who believed in you.

You all can be happy that the first black man may become President of this United States in your lifetime. Congratulations, good job, but you cannot be proud of the way he won.

Comment by walter

arlene, the point you are missing is that the black vote only makes up 17% of the total vote, so it really is alot more than just the “black” vote. and out of that 17% Barack is getting 85% so he is not getting the whole 17%.
I am a white man with a family and YES i am very proud of voting for barack!!

To say barack is disohnest, you obvisously have not looked at hillary’s record. in the debate last night, she said she never supported nafta, thats a lie. go to cnn.com look at her staement when she was running for senate. why not release your tax records when everyone else has? something to be disohnest about? also when she ran for senate , she promised us new yorkers 200,000 jobss within 6 years, well it has been seven years and she hasn’t produced 200 jobs, so thats a lie.

“Lewis said his decision was an anguishing one” but that is repudiated as a lie by the strategic timing of his flip flopping to impact the March 4 primaries for the benefit of cult leader Obama.

Lewis’ perfect timing is also intended to elicit more defections of super delegates for cult leader Obama to force a premature end to the Democratic nomination process in his favor.

The “overwhelming preference for Obama” was simply nothing more than cult leader Obama riding a wave of black racism based on skin color, supported by left wing liberals, and the pro-Obama media.

The Cult Obama campaign is certainly a “transformational moment.” And cult leader Obama has certainly “tapped into something that is extraordinary” by taking a hold on the cult mindset and mentality with the cult money machine.

Lewis is obviously a politician lacking in principles, character, and integrity. His support of cult leader Obama is obviously based on skin color because his flip flopping is not issue based.

Lewis’ civil rights credentials were sacrificed to black racism.

The flip flopping would not be a proud moment for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Rep. John Lewis is a jerk. To call yourself a friend of the Clintons and then turn your back on them for another black brother is disgusting!! And you all say this is not about race? Bull honkey!! What a freakin trader. I hope if Hillary wins the nominations that she tells him to go straight to hell, along with Obama.

ALL the news stations said today the most frightening thing about Obama, besides his relationship with Farrakhan and Pastor Wright, is the fact that no one really knows much about Obama. Hmmm… At least we know about Hillary, good or bad, we know of her and her past and present history. She is not hiding behind a turban towel …

If people don’t wise up soon, America is no longer going to be the land of the free! Obama has plans for America but it’s not going to be all the fairytale dreams that everyone thinks it’s going to be. Your all going to be in for a big shock and you will only have yourselves to blame while us non Osama supporters will have to suffer for your ignorance and stupidity!

country…Impeachment….paying off all of Bill’s trists with large amount of funds and Hillary allowed it only for the power trip … period. THEY were both an embarrasment to this country….dig a little deeper into Hillary’s background NOW….WHERE ARE HER TAX RETURNS…QUIT worrying about sensationalism of the media….look into Hillary’s background and let’s see her tax returns and BIll’s tie’s to middle east OIL…..and you attack Obama and McCain?????? If Hillary is wins the nomination…..she’ll lose to McCain….

Comment by Arlene Kovelesky

Kay,

I’m not sure how old you are or how good your memory is regarding the former President Clinton years. Yes, he pulled some mighty deplorable actions back then. But if you can recall, the economy was the best for everyone, including middle and lower class, than I myself have ever experienced in 50-some years. The United States looked like it was finally getting somewhere in handling all the monetary figures that had been in the “red” for so long. Bill Clinton, as the man, did some awful things. Bill Clinton, as the President, did really good for the Country.

Hillary is her own person, you cannot define her by her husband’s past actions either. Your recollection of the Clinton Presidential years is really quite cloudy, Kay.

Regarding Obama and the great “sense of change” he will bring to the country - I could compare that to if a car salesman was suddenly yanked out of nowhere and placed in the position of pilot of a commercial airplane. Yes, there would definitely be a ’sense of change’ in that situation also. I certainly would not want to take a flight on that plane when the pilot isn’t ready to fly. If he studied and took lessons and listened to people telling him how to fly the plane and got a fully credited pilot’s license that takes putting in the hours to get, yes, then, I would buy a ticket.

Now, no ticket will be bought for me on that plane. For the first time in my life I believe I am going to switch airlines altogether - it isn’t a pretty plane or new plane, but at least I wouldn’t worry so much about the crash and burn aspect of flying on it like I would on the other.

Comment by Arlene Kovelesky

Oh yes, I also want to remember to say that I hope the majority of the rest of the voting primary states really wises up and proudly does the right thing and helps make Hillary Clinton our next President. I would be surprised but oh-so-proud of those states.

And you do what you had to do?…Hmn….Lewis’s friends! If he ever call you his friends, you have to reconsider whether you should be his friends or not.

Comment by bdwilliams for America

The Democratic Party is a joke! The Democratic Party is so divided. It is divided by sex, race, age, and financial status. I do not see how the democrats expect to win in November no matter who the democratic nominee is. Problem 1: Let’s say obama wins. Hillary’s core is the elderly, women, and Hispanics (about 30 million people). These voters not only voted for Hillary, but against obama. Are these voters going to close their eyes and run over a vote for obama? Let’s say Hillary gets the nomination. Will obama’s dreamy eyed supporters (or the ones who are just voting against Hillary) run over embrace and vote for Hillary? Highly unlikely! You say what about a joined ticket? Really people, do you think that obama or Hillary will take the submissive VP slot? Nope! As you see, the democrats again have found a way to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory! We haven’t even gotten to gay marriages and swift boats yet! Lol! About the Superdelegates switching alliances. In America, we have an idea of justice and fair play (i.e. Congressional hearing for steroid use in baseball or video gate in the NFL). The media is so blatantly biased against Hillary it isn’t funny anymore. The Superdelegates were put into place for situations where no clear winner is produced from the primaries and caucuses. There are “NO” rules commanding the Superdelegates to vote as their constituents did. Now if obama and his supporters would like to “change” the rules, I suggest seating the delegates from Florida and Michigan. obama 1.3 mil popular vote lead (as wow states in his earlier post) would be balanced by the 3 mil or so who voted in Florida and Michigan for Hillary! Or Hillary should get the Governor of Arizona’s (Janet Napolitano), among others, Superdelegates vote, because Hillary won that state? When the war in Iraq started everyone in congress (Except obama as he has said…oops he did not get a vote, he was not in congress yet) voted in favor of the war! Then during the 2006 election when people where being voted out of office, suddenly everyone is against the war. Lining up like a bunch of ducks. Superdelegates should do what they think is best for America, and the democratic party. Period! These Superdelegates should show a little backbone, and not cave to pressure of the old party politics (and we know he had party pressure). Isn’t the old party politics what obama is truly against? Guess not when it works in his favor! obama is just another male politician, who promises the people everything and gives the people nothing, when you get to the facts! It is really eye opening when facts get in the way. This is why I became a republican, who happens to be a black male.

This is so rediculous. I have no problem with someone asking Obama where he stands on radical islam because of his muslim heritage. I am a Mormon and do not mind when people ask me where I stand on Warren Jeffs who is in federal prison for rape charges. He wwas the leader of a Church who broke away from the Mormon faith so they could still practice poligamy and other practices that Mormons do not believe in. I would tell them in no way, does this man represent my faith and my beliefs.
Enough with the Barak “Husein” Obama. If you have a problem with his middle name, than say I have a problem with his middle name and have questions in regards to wear he stands on radical islam. Do not tip toe around the idea and insinuate that he is a Jihadist, but ask him where he stands. There is nothing un-American about that.

Here’s the deal with Barack Hussein Obama -

The lib dems are Clinton weary - they aren’t getting the “leftness” they desire. Obama is the left’s sacrifice to the political gods this election cycle in lieu of Clinton. He can’t win the general election, demographically, and they know it. He’s undoubtedly being prepped for ‘12.

Obama Acolytes read and heed:

William Ayers - domestic terrorist and friend of Obama. This connection alone would disqualify an individual from obtaining a security clearance. And you want Obama as president?

I am beginning to agree with AL Ert in that Obama is being groomed for ‘12. Get rid of Hilary in the primaries and those 605 white males that voted for Obama go back to the Republican party and vote for McCain becasue he will only be one term president.

Comment by Utah Independent

I meant to say 60% of white males who voted for Obama go back to the Republican party.

Obama should be proud of his name, his legacy. What kind of example is he providing for our youth by acting ashamed of an unusual name or to be pictured in cultural dress. He should be boasting “This is who I am!” What a powerful unifying message that would send! But that is not Obama. He lacks that leadership.

Well I think you are right. It’s pretty common in politics, unfortunately, to hold the perspective that you tell people what they want to hear to get elected and in order to do what can actually be done. That is why Romney lost me in Michigan with his “I will get these jobs back” rhetoric. Well, that’s BS and anyone with a brain knows it. I give McCain credit for going up there and being honest with them. He lost that state. I hear Obama talking a big game but like Romney in Michigan I don’t see a realistic way for him to accomplish it.

Take his rhetoric about unifying America. Karl Rove made the point last night on H&C that at those times where both sides of the aisle united, Obama was very frequently one of the ones that didn’t unite. I don’t know if that’s true or not. I haven’t researched it but I plan to and if indeed it turns out to be the case then it’s pretty clear that his rhetoric on that point is particularly empty. I’ll let you know what I find out.

Obama is not only ashamed of his name but also the fact that is is biracial. When he went to Chicago to become an “organizer” he did not tell the African Americans he was working with that he was half white because they might reject him. He was uncomfortable on his first trip to Europe because instead of the beauty of Europe he could only see the suffering of his people casued by by the Europeans. How about when he reached Kenya he finally felt at home for the first time.

With all of the talk about African Americans voting for Obama….

Well, where are all of the comments of women voting for Clinton simply because she’s a woman!!!

IT’S THE SAME THING PEOPLE!!

How can there be hope of anyone coming together when we still have the same people in Congress. Where will the change come from, will these members of congress decide to give up their power for the good of the country. Some of these members have been there more than 20 years how can they possibly know anything about the lives of the real working Ameican.

Steven your comment is so right. No election should be based on gender, race, charisma, eloquence of speeches, pie in the sky pomises, or any other hocus pocus but this is what American elections have come to.

BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA is bad for America.

BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA is just present…..with lots and lots of rhetoric.

BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA enough rhetoric is truly enough.

BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA your rhetoric is showing through your speeches….not enough experience.

VOTE FOR AMERICA ——- VOTE AGAINST BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA!!!
VOTE FOR AMERICA ——- VOTE AGAINST BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA!!!

Steven,
Aren’t African American women voting for obama? What about all the white men (2-1 in most states) voting for obama, or agaist Hillary, or against female presidential candidates in general? No matter what, the democrats will find a way to loose. From the election supervisor (She was a democrat) in Florida changing the ballot (you got hanging “chads”), to Swift boats and gay marriage in 2004. The democrats got loosing in November down to a science! America is getting down to a one party system-Republican! Republicans have held the white house for 20 of 28 years since the last liberal democrat (Jimmy Carter). I guess the democrats haven’t figured out that America doesn’t want gay marriages, tax and spend liberals, and wide open boarders(to name a few).

God bless America!

One can’t deny there is a real turnaround in politics- more enthousiasm, % of voters that turn up in primaries remarkable increase over previous occassions, clash bewteen the “old” (literally and symbolically) and the vibrant. When Obama gets support from high-ranking politicians and the like thats great not only for the message but also since they watch and see shift how plotics is done, and like it. Reality of course is that majority of so called super-delegates can make up their mind as they pleases. Give Obama a high % to win the nomination next week or so, and McCain is fine as a politician but his support not very big, no economic policy and military experience ok but thats only a small part of the whole politics and has no clear vision; makes constant mistakes lately. And bit like same old, always questions about special interests, which is ingrained in republican party. Anyway should be fun to watch Obama-McCain debate; young vs old / eloquent speaker vs sturn / charismatic vs plain with that kind of scenario can only see one outcome.

Uh Ari…you might want to check the lastest polls. And I am not talking about CNN, NY Times, MSNBC polls that are completely unreliable. I am talking Rasmussen, Survey USA, etc that have shown good to great accuracy thus far.

McCain is LEADING Obama 46% to 43% and where Obama is viewed favorably by 51% and unfavorably by 48% McCain is viewed favorably by 54% and unfavorably by only 43%.

You are free to revise your statement about McCain’s support.

Utah Independent,
You are the only one, on any blog, who gets it. It is amazing how easy it is for the average voter to be hoodwinked. obama and his followers want change from the old Washington politics. Then why did obama allow Mr. Washington politics (Ted Kennedy) and Mr. Status Quo (John Kerry) endorse him? Congress holds election every 2 years. With the senators doing 6 year terms, some will try to be re-elected in years opposit the presidential election. Here is the quagmire. On average, 12% of registered voters vote during mid-term elections. The predominent voters during mid-term elections are seniors and repulicans. This is how you get Ted Kennedy being in his seat since 1962 and the republicans controlling congress for long periods of time! The only change America is going to acheive with obama being president, is the change from a white male to a black male president.
