McCain to Obama: Denounce Howard Dean

In their latest attempt to turn their lemons into lemonade, the McCain camp is using it’s quick condemnation of the anti-Obama comments by a radio talk show host to go on offense against their potential Democratic rival. The campaign released a statement tonight by Communications Director Jill Hazelbaker calling on Sen. Obama to condemn Howard Dean for his recent attacks on the AZ Senator. Very, very unlikely but here you go Bill Burton:

“Today, a speaker at our event made a highly inappropriate statement about Senator Obama. In response, Senator McCain immediately denounced the remarks and apologized to Senator Obama.

“In contrast, Howard Dean and the Democratic National Committee leadership have launched a personal and negative assault on Senator McCain’s character. Howard Dean himself questioned Senator McCain’s integrity, and a DNC official called McCain a liar.

“We agree with the Obama campaign’s statement today that this debate should be respectful and focused on issues, and it would be encouraging to see Senator Obama denounce the character attacks coming from the leadership of his Party.” — Jill Hazelbaker

So goes the latest skirmish in the ongoing war against integrity that has our culture and our political system in its grips. As I mentioned in a previous post, Voice of America recently reported that integrity has become so central an issue today that U.S. presidential candidates are now using commercial marketing tactics to ‘package’ candidate integrity to the public. It has become clear that integrity is indeed one of the deciding factors in this year’s presidential elections.

It is therefore more important than ever for the media to provide the public with Integrity Education resources so voters can upgrade their Integrity Intelligence. One such resource is my just-released book, The New IQ: How Integrity Intelligence Serves You, Your Relationships and Our World. (Available through bookstores and at http://www.TheNewIQ.com)

TheNewIQ.com website also contains a free tool for assessing the political integrity of the major presidential candidates called the Politician Integrity Rating Tool. This resource educates people about ten key aspects of politician integrity.

Together we can spark an integrity revolution that will help end the “War Against Integrity.”

SPEAKING OF INTEGRITY……….DOES ANYONE ELSE THINK THIS IS ELECTION FRAUD? HAS IT HAPPENED IN STATES THAT HAVE ALREADY VOTED? WILL THE DEMOCRATS ALLOW REPUBLICANS TO PICK THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE?

Popular Radio Host Urging GOP Voters To Oppose Clinton, Kucinich
By Ryan Grim

Feb 26, 2008

(The Politico) A top Clear Channel talk radio station has been (sort of) urging GOP listeners to switch sides and vote in Ohio’s Democratic primary.

Over the last several days, a promo for a popular show hosted by Bob Franz has been playing repeatedly. It suggests this method of beating both Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York and Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio, who’s facing an uncertain primary contest:

“If I weren’t more responsible, I would get on the radio and say something like this: ‘Registered Republicans, your vote for McCain is already cast whether you want it to be or not because he’s the nominee. Cross over in the primary on March 4th and vote Democrat and vote against Hillary Clinton and against Dennis Kucinich. Make sure he doesn’t make it out of the primary. Make sure she doesn’t make it to the nomination. You have to do this for the good of the city, for the good of this district, for the good of this country.’ If I weren’t a responsible talk show host, I would say that,” Franz says in the promo on the 50,000 watt Cleveland station.

“It’s a talk show host’s opinion,” said station executive Ray Davis in an e-mail. “The last time I checked there is still freedom of speech in America.”

A Kucinich spokesman, Andy Juniewicz, said that the fact that the station has repeatedly run the promo without saying it is only the host’s opinion indicates it is campaigning against Kucinich.

“What that host and what that station has done is insulting to intelligent listeners,” Juniewicz said. “Playing games in what is the most important primary election in years is reprehensible – especially when it’s under the guise of language that’s so manipulative.”

Concerning the remarks of knocking Clinton out of the Primaries, I’d actually say the opposite, make sure she stays in all the way to the convention and let the Democrats fight it out there.

Anyways, I’d be surprised if Obama actually denounces Howard Dean, considering the liberal left is extremely intolerant of people with differing opinions.

Shut up Howard Dean for the good of your own party.

Dean is a lunatic liar as are most of the DemocRat base. Let’s see if Obama has the stones to go against the lunatics in his “leadership”..

Don’t hold your breath Senator McCain. There will be no apology about Deans remarks by Obama or anyone else in his campaign. This is the objections many consevatives have with you regarding the very left leaning democratic party. You apologize for Cunninghams remarks and
thinking they will play by the same rules. That isn’t happening. They will send out all their surrogates to tear you down. Better get used to it the campaign has just begun. The democrats want by partisanship and civility only when it benefits them. You have cozied up to them in the past and now maybe you will see what most of the conservatives in this country have criticized you about for a long time. Time to wake up!!!

I don’t understand how Obama can reject Farrakhan but not reject his Pastor, Wright. That made no sense to me considering Farrakhan and Pastor Wright are the best of friends and Obama wrote in his book that Pastor Wright is his mentor, the man he looks up to and seeks advice from! And, why didn’t Tim Russert ask Obama why he continues to attend Pastor Wright’s church if he CLAIMS he does not agree with his anti american antics? Did anyone else catch that?

Comment by Belle

Obama won’t apologize. He doesn’t ever feel he has to. After all, he is above the fray of all the rest. He could do whatever he wanted and his supporters will just make excuses for him or spin it to him being the victim. I’m shocked more people don’t notice this.

It’s the double Obama-standard at work yet again.

It seems pretty clear that McCain’s slimey attempt to skirt the spirit of public campaign finance law as well as the letter of said law, launched the assault on his character.

Taking umbrage at intemperate comedy is not the same as standing accused of skirting the law.

McCain is a hypocrite. The ballot access his near dead campaign received was the only thing that made his later success possible. That is a direct benefit from public finance worth 2 to 3 million dollars. Using the promise of public finance to secure a loan is also a benefit. Now that he received those campaign saving benefits he wants to opt out?

What a flip-flopping double talker…

Obama’s response:

“I would no more denounce Dean than I would my own grandfather, a man who around the breakfast table would make derogatory remarks about other people, this would make my leg tingle and my tummy hurt.”
Obama went on to outline the history of derogatory comments and then say that “my run for presidency is equal to all of that” and “I stand for change” and with a “hope, to establish thought police to keep this type of thing from happening ever again”.
He then called the others running in the campaign, “liars” and “racists” and “people who are against us and are up to no good.”
