Former Democratic Presidential Candidate Picks Obama Over Clinton, Warns Democrats to “Be Careful”

Cleveland, Ohio:

Today Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT) stood side-by-side with his former rival, Senator Barack Obama, and announced his endorsement of the Democratic nominee. Dodd, who dropped out of the race following his defeat in Iowa, became the first 2008 Democratic candidate to endorse in the race.

“It’s now the hour to come together,” Dodd announced, appealing to Democrats, Independents and others to come together to keep the Party cohesive enough to ensure victory in November against Senator John McCain.

Later when responding to a question during the avail, Dodd issued a “cautionary note” against an ugly campaign for the nomination. He warned, “Be careful this week. We have good people running.” Adding, “I know the temptation in campaigns, beyond the ability of the candidates themselves to control it, can get out of control. We’ve witnessed a little bit of that here, and I’m worried about it, and one of the things I wanted to say this morning…was to urge these campaigns to be careful. We’re on the brink, I think, of a great victory for this country, and I don’t want to see us lose that opportunity because of the mistakes made or the divisiveness that can enter a campaign.”

Following the circulation yesterday of the photograph of Senator Obama dressed in traditional Somali garb,  Obama recognized that “at this stage in the campaign, there are going to be dust-up, particularly at the staff level. Certainly I don’t think that that photograph was circulated to enhance my candidacy. I think that’s fair to say. Do I think that it is reflective of Senator Clinton’s approach to the campaign? Probably not.”

So what’s to be expected at tonight’s debate, after Hillary Clinton challenged him last week, “Meet me in Ohio.”?

Barack Obama is likely prepared for a contentious debate, but told reporters today, “I would expect her to argue vigorously her case, or why she should be president. And I’m sure she’ll point out differences she has with me. I will do the same, but I’m sure it will be conducted in civil fashion, because, at this point, as Senator Clinton said in the last debate, it’s been an honor to not only participate in this process with her, but also with people like Chris Dodd, and Joe Biden, Bill Richardson, John Edwards, Dennis Kucinich - all outstanding individuals who have made enormous contributions to this country.”

Please… Chris Dodd is a joke and no one really cares what he thinks! He is nothing more than a presidential wanna be. And now just to slap us all in the face he stands up to endorse Obama. If it wasn’t so gut wrenching disgusting it would almost be funny!

Obviously Dodd never did his homework! Cleveland should be worried…

I do believe that these two Candidates are hurting the Democratic party because of the Mud that each are slinging. Primairly what Clinton is throwing at Obama. She is going to destroy the Party if she contiues to do so. Clinton can not make a speech without a negative comment about her opponent. Let us hear from both Candidates what they CAN DO FOR AMERICA, not what one ore the other has done to prove their worthyness..Who really cares about each indivual it is the Country We Should Be Concerned About.

Senator Dodd, thank you for your heartfelt endorsement of Senator Obama for President of the United States!

For the first time since President Reagan’s years, I am hearing a candidate include America’s citizenry in rebuilding “A GOVERNMENT BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE AND OF THE PEOPLE” for our beloved United States. I truly believe President Obama will follow through with his messages of hope and real change we can believe in and “WE THE PEOPLE” are more than happy to help him bring our dreams, hopes, and aspirations to a strong reality. Mr. Obama will bring credabillity back to America. Nations will look up to America for real leadership once again!
God bless America, the land of the free and the brave!

***Southern girl*** it is funny . American Idol is on from 8 to 9:30 so I will miss the first half hour of the debate tonight on MSNBC . Some things are just more important . Hillary reminds me of Marx . Obama reminds me of Hitler and false hope with fanatic crowds .

It just cracks me up how far the media and Barack “Hussein” supporters will go to cover up for this misleading candidate. They are all so willing to put our country in jeopardy over some charming eye winks and speeches. His speeches remind me of ground hog day, they never change. Are Americans that desperate that they have to hinge their hopes on a candidate that is only a motivational speaker? Where are his foreign policy plans? Why won’t he hand over his list of private campaign donators? Because it’s obvious he has money pouring in from the Muslims in the mideast and his buisness partner, Rezko. He is using blood money to win his nomination. That money is coming from the same people that are killing our soldiers and no one cares! How sad and humiliating is that? Obama won’t even say the pledge of alligence or wear a flag pin on his lapel and no one blinks an eye over that either.

There is no doubt if Obama wins that a lot of Americans will be moving to Canada!!

Just what “experience” does Hillary have to make her worthy of the position of the President and Command-in-Chief of our beloved United States of America. Being the wife of a President does not a President make. Hillary’s ONLY government experience is six years in the U.S. Senate as Senator of New York, plus one year into her second term and she has spent that time campaigning. Senator Obama has a total of eleven (11) years as Senator of Illinois and in the U.S. Senate as a Senator of Illinois.

I realize Hillary and Bill are codependent upon one another, and I realize that Hillary takes Bill’s Presidency as her very own (that is part of being a codependent); however, the reality is SHE DOES NOT OWN Bill’s Presidency period; she is extremely foolish if she thinks American citizens are buying into her “Presidential” experience. Hillary gives herself credit for the “GOOD” things that came out of his Presidency; however, she totally distances herself from the “TERRIBLE” things that came out of his Presidency! She is still blaming “THE RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY”, the Republican Party, for looking into all the corruption and crimes that Hillary and Bill brought with them from Arkansas, and the corruption and crimes they fostered within the White House.

If you want more of the Clintons’ corruption and drama, go ahead and vote for Hillary. They brought world-wide shame to our country, the Presidency, and us, the citizens. I CHOOSE NOT to place them in the White House again!

Yeah Nina, go after those evil clintons. Good thing we have good honest Americans like Carl Rove, Roberto Gonzales, Rumsfeld, Larry Craig, Tom DeLay and Scooter Libby. And Cheney keeping hush hush about Enron and Haliburton continues to ensure our national security. I will trade a Clinton scandal or bashings, a record surplus, a booming economy, leaps and bounds in technology and the lowest percentage of people on welfare in over 30 years instead of this mess were in right now. Oh, and lets not forget that the Clinton administration did more for blacks, hispanics and latino’s than any other President in history. Isn’t it nice how the black people are showing their gratitude towards the Clintons now? Just goes to show you how soon we all forget and how so many people can be so ungrateful!!

Comment by Are You Kidding Me?

I hate to burst your bubble NINA, but Obama has not served 11 years as a Senator in Illinois. He has served less than 4 years! He was a representative before a Senator.

Then you have the nerve to bring up the corruption word? lmao…. I guess you forgot who Obama’s buisness partner is ha? Does the name Rezko ring a bell? Or, how about Ted Kennedy? I think you really stuck your foot in your mouth on that one!

If you really want Obama to win the election I would stop talking for his sake!!! Your only helping to make him look like the unexperienced and corrupt candidate that he really is. He is doing a fine job of fooling his rock star drooling supporters all on his own!!

La Maries. You have learned well from Hillary!! Resorting to temper tantrums, namecalling and cursing is not classy at all and bespeaks of ignorance on your part. So, what you are saying is, anyone who voted/votes for Senator Obama is a pathetic American walking among you, the Clinton supporters, and we should all move to the middle east? Then and only then, would Hillary become President and she would rule over and take care of her minions, such as yourself? Last I looked, America is the land of the FREE and the BRAVE. We ALL ARE FREE to choose who we want for our President. I believe the greater part of Americans are supporting Senator Obama. Why? Because he is a person of good character; he exemplifies GOOD CHARACTER, INTEGRITY, HONESTY, WISDOM, OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP AND MANAGERIAL SKILLS, STABILITY, COHESIVENESS, GOOD JUDGEMENT, STEADINESS, AND THE COMMON SENSE THAT MAKES FOR AN OUTSTANDING PRESIDENT, COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF, AND LEADER. Can you say the same about Hillary? I think not.

Comment by NinaK

Oh my! Hillary’s supporters are raving, raging mad! Just look at what you post. I understand fully, you just take your cues and lessons from Hillary herself. She’s been ranting and raving since the last debate. Kudos to Hillary for teaching you so very well on how to behave!

I can not believe it, people you need to open your eyes… just wearing a flag pin doest not mean much. The same way some guys would just stand there and tell a girl that they like them so they could lay them or a girl would tell a guy that she loves him just to get his money ….a lot of guys would put a flag pin in their for head just to make you guys believe how patriotic they are so they could get to power. It is not by wearing a flag pin that you show your love for your country but the changes you wil bring to the country to make it better for everyone, caucasian, latino, blacks, woman, man, etc

Comment by Jimbo

La Marie, what palnet are you from? Got any proof that Obama is getting money from Muslims? Is that how you promote Clinton by lying? Feel sorry for you and the likes of you. The will of the american people is more powerful than the handfull anti-democracy elements in this country.
Peace to my country.

I am not sure what to make of Obama’s claims to be a CHRISTIAN. He says he has been a member of the same christian church for almost 20 years, but he does not have much passion when he speaks of it…or when he speaks about JESUS CHRIST. You can have your name on the roll at a church and not have your heart in it. Some politicians will just use the CHRISTIAN churches for networking and trying to convince people they are a CHRISTIAN. If you have given your heart to JESUS CHRIST, you will usually have some passion about it when you speak and can tell people when you first gave your heart and life to Christ. I hope he does mean it, because there is no greater love than the love Christ has for us and that is an anchor in this world..

Comment by Ken

Nona I understand and respect your analysis. I can tell anyone I’m a christian but the only way you’ll know is by my actions, and you can’t determine that in 6 months or a year for that matter. I guess basically what I’m saying is we’re all taking a risk voting for anyone based on religion. Just one persons opinion.

Meet The Obamas

As the Obama juggernaut continues to press on, I thought it would be useful
to continue our look at the Democrat frontrunner and the would-be first
lady, Michelle Obama, as both are making headlines. First, the candidate
and his record.

National Journal, a respected non-partisan political magazine, recently
published its 2007 Vote Ratings. The ratings employ computer-assisted
analysis to examine and rank congressional votes. And you may be surprised
to know who came in as the most liberal member of the U.S. Senate. Hillary
Clinton? Nope. Ted Kennedy? No. John Kerry? Wrong.

According to National Journal’s rankings, which analyzed 99 key Senate
votes, the most liberal senator in 2007 was Barack Obama, who took the
liberal position on 65 of the 66 key votes on which he voted.

On Campaign for Working Families’ Congressional Scorecard, Obama has cast
only one conservative vote out of 48 key votes we have tracked since he
joined the Senate in 2005. That would give him a 2% pro-family score with
CWF! Hillary is only marginally better, at 5%, with four extra years of
service.

The release of National Journal’s scorecard was well-timed coming as Obama
was comparing himself favorably to President Ronald Reagan, and as some
conservatives are even praising Obama for his charm and vision. I suppose
these qualities are refreshing when Obama is compared with his primary
rival, Hillary Rodham Clinton!

Folks who listen to Obama speak may feel uplifted and inspired, but there
is rarely anything substantive in his speeches. Obama often does not go
into detail about his political views or public policy record, preferring
instead to present abstract visions of unity and hope for the future. If
he did go into detail, he would surely put off most Republicans, not to
mention many Independents and moderate Democrats. In fact, we may see blue
collar Democrats coming back to the GOP this year, as they did in 1980 and
1984.

Polls indicate Barack Obama’s chances of winning the Democrat presidential
nomination are on the rise, and he may well be that party’s nominee this
fall. It is therefore high time that voters look beyond the rhetoric and
take a good look at the record of the U.S. Senate’s most liberal member.

Michelle Obama And America

Michelle Obama, wife of Democrat frontrunner Barack Obama, shocked a lot of
people over the weekend when she said this: “For the first time in my
adult lifetime I am proud of my country.” Wow! That takes my breath away.
Mrs. Obama is 44 years old, so for over roughly 24 years of “adulthood,”
taking her at her word, she has never been proud of our nation. Is there
a theme here? You may remember that last year Senator Obama said he
refused to wear a flag lapel pin because it represented a “substitute for
true patriotism.” And what precisely is true patriotism? According to
Senator Barack Hussein Obama, it is opposing the war in Iraq.

Apparently nothing America did from 1982 to 2008 caused her heart to swell
with pride. Not our successful effort to defeat Soviet communism and
liberate millions of people in Eastern Europe? Not our relief efforts
around the world, through which we spent billions to help the downtrodden?
Not anything?

When she learned with all the rest of us how her fellow citizens on United
Flight 93 bravely fought back against jihadist hijackers and prevented
another disaster on September 11th, did she not fill up with pride? As
Americans of all races and classes rallied together in defense of our
nation in the aftermath of September 11th, did her spirit not jump with
love for her homeland? Apparently not.

The Obamas are living examples of the American Dream. Both Michelle Obama
and her husband have Ivy League degrees. They make a joint income of over
one million dollars a year. They live lives that most ordinary Americans
can only dream of. Yet, Mrs. Obama, who wants to be first lady, has been
unable to find the pride in America that millions of ordinary Americans
feel every day.

Sadly, her attitude is not rare among leftwing American elites. We are
“educating” millions of Americans to be globalists first and foremost, and
we are doing precious little about educating our children to be proud and
unashamed Americans.

The Obamas are flying high politically right now, but I don’t believe many
Americans will want to cast their votes this November for a couple so out
of touch with traditional American values.

Please feel free to pass on this “End of Day” update to interested friends
and family members.

People Please vote Republican!!

Governor Bill Richardson in an interview with Wolf Blitzer just a while ago compared the way the candidates are touting his endorsement in this way.

Obama as a precision strike; stating that barrack himself is calling and talking to him personally and not a campaign member.

Called the Clinton way as a “Carpet bomb” saying he receives calls from Bill and Hillary as well as former aides and other campaign members.

Says he may announce an endorsement within the next couple of days or not.

A British-Iraqi billionaire lent millions of dollars to Barack Obama’s fundraiser just weeks before an imprudent land deal that has returned to haunt the presidential contender, an investigation by The Times discloses.

The money transfer raises the question of whether funds from Nadhmi Auchi, one of Britain’s wealthiest men, helped Mr Obama buy his mock Georgian mansion in Chicago.

A company related to Mr Auchi, who has a conviction for corruption in France, registered the loan to Mr Obama’s bagman Antoin “Tony” Rezko on May 23 2005. Mr Auchi says the loan, through the Panamanian company Fintrade Services SA, was for $3.5 million.

Three weeks later, Mr Obama bought a house on the city’s South Side while Mr Rezko’s wife bought the garden plot next door from the same seller on the same day, June 15.

Mr Obama says he never used Mrs Rezko’s still-empty lot, which could only be accessed through his property. But he admits he paid his gardener to mow the lawn….

Hillary Clinton is by far the best candidate - experience, knowledge - and we know what we are getting. Seems Obama’s background is now becoming questionable. Maybe we all need to look a little harder at this glory man and exactly what changes he intends to bring to the USA.

GO HILLARY!!!!

Comment by James

Hillary is lacking in experience! Her claim to have been Co-President” for 8 years is meaningless. Her fiscal management is weak-why did she need to “loan” 5 million to her team? Where did she get this 5 million? Is hiding the source of this “extra 5 million dollars “the reason she will not release her tax records? Hillary shoud concede now, before she causes more damage to the Democratic Party.
